Ill

part 1

Author Notes: So according to Sen who didn't really listen to me when I first told him about this series, there needs to be clarification. This series is NOT a full on story that have each chapter canonically follow one another in a organized timeline.

I wrote this as different mini series or one shots based on ideas or scenes I thought of for my character. But again this is Sen who's memory is crap so when he started reading these(not finished the game mind you) he got confused.

SO for those who didn't really understand when I started writing these(Cough *Sen* Cough) let me explain. Unless they have parts 1, 2 or whatever to their titles, they don't really have any connection with one another.

The pokemon and characters may be the same-like say the pokemon team my character uses, or the hobbies my character does but the situation they deal with may not be canon to each other like in a typical story. Are we good?

It better because after the first two scene chapters I really thought that was clear but whatever, it's out of the way now. I have mentioned it, so at this point...any confusion is on those who don't listen or read the author notes. Ahem...I do not own pokemon.

3rd P.O.V

She felt like she was being cooked from the inside out. Her eyes were so heavy, they were barely open. All signs concluding to either a really bad cold or the flu. Neither were really ideal, no one, Shishi especially-liked being sick.

However, the explorer and pokemon researcher should've seen this coming. Working on the pokedex nearly all day, every day. Barely taking the time to rest, or even remembering to eat while out and about...

On top of dealing with an unexpected storm while in the field lands last night because some stupid bidoof were causing trouble again. In all honesty it was a miracle that with all those problems on top of the extreme amounts of stress she's been dealing with lately that this didn't happen much sooner.

She had no one but herself to blame for most of the reasons that led her to be miserable in bed. Still she was uncomfortable, groaning in agony as she shivered under the sheets. Sleep sounded really good right now.

But the only reason she was awake in the first place-actually only two reasons was because A- the light peering into her home, and B- the insanely loud knocking on her door. The noise having an insistent, irritating yet familiar rhythm to it.

"Shishi! Shishi you home!?" Yes, yes she was, but she really just wanted to go back to sleep. But sadly, duty calls, especially when Rei's at her door. Being as loud as ever. Swallowing painfully, she manages to muster a response. "Yeah...yeah I'm coming."

One that hopefully the brat of a teen could hear. And if he didn't at this point she didn't care. It was hard to breathe...snot was clogging her nose and her throat was sore. But she managed to get her ass up off her little futon without help.

Only to start stumbling. "!" Were it not for her lopunny summoning herself to give her a hand, there was a ninety percent chance she would've fallen face first onto the floor. The girl gives her pokemon a thankful smile, one that is happily accepted as together, Shishi slowly makes her way to the door.

The harsh knocks and shouts were grating on her ears the closer she reached her destination, making her grimace. "Shishi!?" Still she doesn't bother responding again. It took all of her effort to shout the first time.

And it wouldn't matter, she would muscle through and greet her visitor soon enough anyways. Huffing, already feeling like she ran a marathon, she manages to slide open the door. Seeing a clenched hand in the air, ready for another series of unnecessary smacks on her entrance.

Just as she thought it was of course Rei. Because if not for his calls from outside, then who else would be sent to fetch her? "Oh..." All it took was one glance at her to see that she was clearly not well. Not really helping her mood or self esteem. "What?"

But he woke her up. May as well see what was so important. "Er-uh, the captain wants to see you. B-but I can tell her you were unavailable?" It was a bit too late for that now. With an annoyed sigh she waves off his sympathetic suggestions.

"Tell her I will be there within ten minutes." She doesn't even bother closing the door, instead trying(with her pokemon's help) to walk towards her dresser. If she was being summoned then it was probably for the latest set of rumors going around near the Icelands.

In general she really didn't want to go out(especially there of all places) so she could only cross her fingers and pray for some small mercy to be thrown her way. "Sh-Shishi! It's ok. I'll just tell her you can't come." Looking over her shoulder, she shoots him a wry smile.

More resembling a weak grimace. "Like she'll accept such an answer." When summoned by the captain or commander, one shows up, no matter what. Unless someone is on deaths door, they show up end of story.

"Close the door and get out of here Rei. I'll be there." As much as she wanted to sleep, there was work to do. Once she's gotten whatever it is Cyllene wants done, then she can return home, have her pokemon guard the door, and attack anyone that dares to try and disturb her.

Because Arceus dammit, being sick made her impatient and temperamental. She was NOT in the mood to deal with anyone or anything.

Her luck was shit, it's been shit, and Shishi currently hates everything and everyone. "Grr flareon use flame wheel!" A huge part of her really wished she had taken up Rei's offer to go and tell Cyllene she wasn't available.

Because being surrounded by a bunch of angry mothims and beautiflys as she goes in search of supplies for the village was not at all what she wanted to do. The good news was the fact that Cyllene didn't send her out to quell another noble pokemon.

Most likely due to her ill-looking state, still, she was sent out. Escorting the survey corps members and protecting them so this new campsite out in the Cobalt Coastlands could be built as well as protect the earlier mentioned supplies she had been gather.

And that meant these pokemon that were terrorizing the workers had to go. Why Rei couldn't do this with his pikachu, Shishi will never understand. Or...anyone really. Yes, pokemon can be scary. Yes, they can cause massive damage when provoked. But these specific pokemon were bugs.

Hostile, sure, but easily manageable. Just throw some scented peppermint incense or lavender bunches to keep them away. Would be much easier in her opinion. At the very least, there wouldn't be a need to fight an entire swarm of the blasted things!

"Keep it up flareon, fire fang!" But considering these people aren't really ones for traveling, let alone hunting for certain flowers or plants to keep said pokemon pests away, wasn't too much of a surprise. Ever since she came to this place, she's found that many of her fellow humans hadn't really found a backbone.

Or rather the courage to face and understand these pokemon. Which...sadly meant it was up to her to get things situated. But that was fine. This. Was. Fine! She was almost done, and once she's done she can go back to bed.

Just a few more moments, then she could rest. "Flareon..." Yet as she was about to issue one final command, many of her opponents already quivering from fear and the burns previously inflicted, her vision began to wane.

Her breath caught, as her eyes saw a series of rainbow dots before going black altogether. Without any notice, she collapses onto the ground. "Miss. Shishi!" Her temperature high, her breathing ragged, her movements still. Flareon and Shishi's fellow members were desperately trying to awaken her.

"What do we do?" The bug pokemon took this opportunity to flee, thankfully averting what could've been a huge and dangerous problem. "One of you stay with her and try to keep her comfortable, the rest of you start setting up camp immediately!"

At least one of the members was able to quickly recover from the shock. His mouth firm as he gives out orders. "What about you sir?" The elder man, turns his attention away from his allies. Narrowing as a steady stream of smoke goes towards the sky not too far from their position.

Time was of the essence. "I'll speak to Iscan and see if he can help us with acquiring the proper medical care for her. It's too far a trek to the village." He could only hope the Diamond clan would be willing to assist them.

to be continued

Author Notes: Well that ended on a cliffhanger didn't it? Big fun. But uh sorry for the lack of uploads, my holiday nightmare season really makes me lose time and energy. Especially with reaching the end of the school semester.

Ignoring all that, this chapter is it for now folks. Ahem, thank you all so much for reading this series so far. If you like it please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean so much to me. Tchao for now.
