Mysterious Pokemon

Part 3

Author Notes: Whoop whoop here we are ladies and gents with a part 3. Actually surprised with how well things are going so far. I can only hope I don't choke in the end here...Er anyways I do not own pokemon.

Last time...

You couldn't help furrowing your brows. "Why would that get their attention?" For a moment there's hesitation as she looks away from your gaze. "When...we first met up we came up with a bunch of codes. Certain things to say, in case we needed to speak about something important but couldn't be open about it."

Fair point. You won't ask anymore about the subject. You had a promise to keep. "Alright. Then I guess I better get going then. Hang tight Clover." She gives you a single nod, allowing you to walk away. You return to the upper floors of the Survey Corps base, just to run into Kamado and Adaman...perfect.

"Just the two I was hoping to run into. Listen, we don't have much time but..."

2nd P.O.V

Just as you assumed there really was little time to prepare as you ran out of the village. "What's the plan?" Adaman, Rei and Akari right on your heels. "Adaman, I need you to head back to your base and request aid from your members, Rei, I need you to head to the Pearl clan and ask the same."

You could feel the ground trembling. "What about me?" The boys didn't even bother asking why as they shot off towards their respected destinations. "I've already spoken to Kamado so he, Laventon and Cylleen are handling the barricades, but you're probably going to have the hardest task." You felt bad.

But there really wasn't much choice in the matter. "What?" You could see from the corner of your eye her tense. "I need you to find Charm and Coin. Either tell them I need to speak to them or lure them here." Her eyes bug out in astonishment. Go figure you were surprised too,

"Are you serious? Where would I even begin to look?!" The both of you stumbled as the shaking in the ground turned rougher. "Clover said she was going to meet them somewhere around here before heading to the docks. No doubt they're nearby." They had to be.

You were banking on Clover telling the truth, otherwise all of you were screwed. "Tell them 'Someone's plucked Clover,' and that I need to see them pronto." Akari was still looking at you strangely.

Only for fear to form on her face as a huge looming shadow started approaching in the distance. "Unless of course YOU want to be the one dealing with Mama Kanga over there Akari?" Whoever told Laventon that the mysterious pokemon was seven feet tall...was a complete asshole and liar.

Though seven feet was the typical height of a kangaskhan...this one was a good ten feet at least. What the hell was Clover thinking!? "Nope. I'm good! I'll be back!" Good for her, you were actually hoping she would switch places with you.

Because whether you were battling or stalling for time, this was going to suck. Still there were options for you to take. Battling would be the absolute last resort, but with this species, it wouldn't be hard or take long for the last resort to be the only resort.

Regardless though you had to try. This was a very delicate situation that only you could handle. "Hey Mama Kanga! Been looking all over the region for you." Now the smart thing to do would be to leave the baby kanga out in the wild.

Somewhere near the mama so that there would be no confrontations or risk said mama going into over protective mode. However because the baby did a temporary imprint on you and blissey, that wasn't going to happen, as the baby would just follow the two of you with her own sense of smell, crying the whole time.

And having the baby kangaskhan in your possession was suicide, since she would then think YOU were the one that took her kin away. Right now, the only plan you had was to buy time. First step to that idea was to actually talk down the very angry pokemon.

While doing that people from all over the region would come. If the need to fight happens, you have more capable trainers available to tire out the big lady should she decide to get aggressive. It wasn't a foolproof plan.

Hell it probably wouldn't even be smooth sailing, especially now that you can see her slowly approaching with rage clearly blinding her senses. "You're looking really frustrated. What's the problem?" Now granted there's always the off chance that the baby kangaskhan wakes up on her own and blissey brings her out.

With that scenario everyone's happy and there's no fight at all. You had already told everyone that if she wakes up, to let her out and DON'T touch her. But also Don't wake her up prematurely. Because forcing the poor thing awake would cause a tantrum-which of course would trigger her mother.

"Easy there mama. I mean no harm." Cards were not in your favor as your latest guest snarled at you. Definitely not in the mood to deal with you, which you totally understood. If she's been searching since dawn then she was grumpy and tired.

Again...damn you Clover. "Ok I get it, don't wanna talk to me. How bout one of my girls, a mother herself?" Another option, well...with your hands raised you gently toss out your pokeball. Blissey was inside taking care of the still sleeping baby.

So you needed another friend to play delegate. Thankfully you had the perfect one. "Lopunny. Mind helping me out here?" The moment she came out, you had your pokecompanion go to work. It helped that you also brought out your lopunny's own pokebabies to help soften mama kanga.

If there was one thing you knew about this species, it was they all had big hearts, they didn't bring harm to kids even if their own was missing. You were praying this would keep the peace. Again you didn't want to fight.

Right now you just had to stall for time. "Lopunny, let her know her kin is safe and napping. There is no danger and that if she calms down, we can bring her to her." It would be too risky to actually escort the the brown armor skinned pokemon in the actual village.

There's be way too many triggers. But all it would take is one starly message and blissey could carefully bring her out. The caregiving pokemon knew sing and could make even the most difficult of children angels with just a few soft coos.

You would've done it sooner, hell you would've had blissey done so the moment you had finished your talk with the commander and Adaman. However the baby was starting to get rough skin from being out of her mama's pouch for so long.

She was still too young for her skin to harden and it would irritate her to no end if she was awake, so blissey had to keep her inside so she could rub lotions on her without risking her getting dirty. "Lop!" You're crossing your fingers as you watch the pokemon converse.

The baby bunearies hopping all around the now kneeling kangaskhan. Hope was blooming in your chest as things seem to be going well. They were talking, and the tension was slowly leaving those broad shoulders. "Lop Lop-punny!" Your pokemon looks up at you with a grin.

Making you sigh in relief. "Alright, I'm sending starly to-" Before you could even send the little bird off to give the ok-you saw something at the corner of your eye. A bright colored ball was thrown at your feet. "What the?" A bright light and series of explosives go off in front of you.

"Ow!" You hiss as gunpowder and sparks embed into your eyes. "Arrrraaaaaaaa!" Lopunny immediately grabbed for her children as the mama kangaskhan roared. She stomps the ground as more explosives go off all around you.

In the chaos of the quaking ground you fall, unable to see a thing as smoke and tears cloud your vision. "What the hells going on!?" You feel fluff grabbing and jumping all over your stunned body. "Lop!" You could hear the desperation in lopunny's voice.

And immediately you reach for your pokeballs. "I hear you loud and clear Lopunny!" And to think things were going so well too...with anxiety pumping through your veins you try to return the baby bunearies back into their balls.

Only to feel something grab your arm, lifting you high into the air. "Pun!" You tried squinting your eyes, desperate to see. But you didn't need eyes to know that in front of you was mama kanga. No doubt angry and thinking you're the reason those explosives went off.

"Shishi!" You could barely hear the shouts as she slammed you into the ground. "Ugh..." You couldn't breathe. Dirt and blood coated your lips as you laid in a daze, unable to think, let alone move. "Gengar use dark pulse!" That voice...it couldn't be.

You wince as arms grab for you, revitalizing the pain tenfold. "Start talking! Where the hell's Clover!?" Nope, you were right the first time. It was Charm, sounding absolutely enraged. "We don't have all day brat." And Coin.

Good timing. "Safe, in the village. She got scammed-tricked into stealing a baby kangaskhan." You really couldn't see much to begin with thanks to that set of explosives, but now you couldn't see anything but darkness. "Hey! Stay awake dammit! Who scammed her!?"

You wanted to answer, but sleep was calling you...

Leaving everyone on their own.

to be continued.
