Adamant for Adaman
Banishment
Part 2
Author Notes: Well isn't this going to be a fun time...all the frustration and petty spite I felt has come rushing back to me in full force. Let's get this going shall we? I do not own Pokemon
Last time-
They were not going to take advantage of you and your pokemon after all this. You weren't going to enslave them, never did in all honesty, however there was no need for all of them to come with you. If some wanted to still follow you after being released then fine, but otherwise they can return to the wild.
No matter what Kamado was not going to use them to further advance this place. "You'll come back though right?" Rei and Akari still had hope in their gazes. A huge shift from when they first met you.
"No. Even if I figure out what caused all this chaos, I'm not returning."
2nd P.O.V
You open the door, taking a deep breath. But before you could take a single step, Laventon gently grabbed your arm. "Please Shishi think this through!" You've been thinking...far too much actually.
Those thoughts were finally ready to burst as you glared. Jerking your arm off, they got to see full well how you felt. "I'm DONE with this place Laventon! The people here can turn into an Alpha's lunch for all I care!" There was movement at the corner of your eye.
But you didn't bother looking to see who or what that movement was. You've reached your emotional limit as the older man broke the dam you were trying so hard to contain. You could feel your lips trembling.
Damn it all to hell and back, this wasn't fair. "I knew from the moment I set foot here I was unwanted. I'm an outsider, I get it. But after all this time-after all I've done...I expected Someone here to stand up for me. To say that I was someone worthy of trust."
Tears were forming, but you hold it in once more, taking another inhale. There was still so much for you to do. Why the hell were you wasting time(great arceus you've been spending WAY too much time with Adaman...) telling them this?
"Yet despite it all nothing has changed. Everyone is still treating me just like when I first came here. Adaman and Irida-two people I barely spent time with compared to the citizens here were the only ones willing to jump to my defense." Even now you could hear whispers.
Hushed tones of the people around you along with accusing glances. All tauros shit. "This is the second time I've lost my home Professor. The first was when I was ripped away from my friends and family to fall through your skies." There was no forgiving this.
Never. "I was scared when I came here. But instead of breaking down like a child I stood up and fought for acceptance. I scraped and struggled to make a place for myself- only for Kamado to take it all away! Telling me to leave and not come back until I prove I didn't cause this!"
It was hard to breathe. "Despite my bravado against him, I don't think I can prove it, but no one seems to understand that I DIDN'T ASK TO COME HERE! I never wanted to be thrown into this position. And now I can't trust anyone because it hurts so much!" You shake your head, overwhelmed.
Your hair covering your face. And tears..."I'm not a bringer of destruction-i'm not a saint. I'm a human being that's too angry and spiteful to submit to a bastard that has been looking for a reason to kick me out. I'm Done with this village and the people in it." For a moment you stumble, feeling lightheaded.
Your hands reach for the door, keeping yourself upright as you close your eyes. This whole time your audience has been silent. Their mouths opening and closing like a school of magikarp. This was the loudest and angriest they've ever heard you. But that was because up until now you had a strong filter.
Kept your feelings on things or people to yourself. The most you did was complain, and even then it was with certain people. Now? That filter was gone and people WOULD hear you, whether they liked it or not.
"Laventon...you're one of the only people I still trust in this damn place. Please, save me a few minutes of being in this hell and get my pokemon from the pastures before meeting me at the entrance. Make sure the owner doesn't backstab me too."
With renewed strength you open the door-FINALLY making it into your ex sleeping quarters. Your vision blurs for a second as you slam the door shut behind your back, not bothering to wait for Laventon to respond.
The sooner you get this done the better. "?" A cold wet nose touches your hand, startling you. Before you realized it, your current party of pokemon were out of their pokeballs, standing before you with loving yet concerned eyes.
Ninetales, lopunny, zoark, luxray, leafeon and aracanine. All pokemon you caught and cared for throughout your journey around the Hisuian region. "I'm ok guys. Mind giving me a hand?" It was a bit difficult for all of you to maneuver around in the tiny space but managed well enough.
More so they stuck towards the entrance. Planning on helping to carry your belongings-as well as guarding the door to make sure no one tries to enter while you went about emptying your drawers. Clothes, blankets, tools, food, money, crafting supplies, pokeballs, all of it was going.
The smaller items fitting into your satchel, while the rest was tied with string before being stored into the handbags that you bought from Volo's merchant guild. For once your impulse shopping on cute things coming in handy.
One by one your pokemon took on a load of bags, looking more fabric then pokemon, mustering a small smile out of you. You even stripped out of your uniform, changing into something more colorful, more comfortable.
Never did like all the heavy, tight layers clinging to you. But you didn't throw it away or just leave it in the middle of the floor. Oh no, you had plans for the Survey Corps clothes, instead tucking it into your satchel. "Ready guys?"
Each and every single one of them chirped their affirmation. More than willing to do the walk of shame with you. Sighing you take one last look at this place, your features softening as you silently say goodbye.
"No time like the present..." Greeting you when you exit is the captain herself, right on schedule. Looking just as stern as ever. "Have you got everything?" All you can do is smile. The time spent getting your stuff was enough to control your tears and breathing issues.
If you were walking out of here, you were damn sure going to make an impression. "Whether I do or don't doesn't matter at this point." It was enough for Cyllene. With a graceful turn she begins walking away, not bothering to see you following her step by step.
Eyes forward, smile on your face, don't show that the conversations going around you hurt more than a burn or zap from a pokemon. You could only cross your fingers and hope that Laventon didn't have too much trouble with your request.
You'd remember to thank and apologize to him later. After you leave and far away from menacing eyes. "Hmph finally leaving. Good riddance to ya." You pause mid-step, shifting your eyes to the familiar, cranky voice.
The Wallflower's owner, old Beni boo...of course couldn't help but put in his two pokecents in. He never liked you to begin with either, though he at least had the decency to be upfront about it. Not bothering to hide his opinions.
Though it didn't make it any better at the end of the day. An asshole through and through. "Shishi?" Cyllene watches you, unsure of how to talk to you, and you don't blame her. She was probably the movement you noticed when you went off on the professor. Would make sense if she was just as startled as everyone else.
"You know Beni...I've been wanting to say this from the moment I met you." He narrows his eyes, which made you grin all the more. "Both your food and personality is ponyta shit. Hope you croak old man." You weren't going to feel guilty, you were being banished, what the hell did you have to lose?
And seeing his face go red as he spluttered actually made you feel better. Not a lot, but walking away as he cursed your name because you finally had the guts to go and tell him off for how he's treated you felt good. "Shall we Captain?"
Not a word left her lips as she advanced again. You keeping up with no issues. All that was left was to get your pokemon and then...get rid of your uniform. However...as you reached the gates, the professor was nowhere to be seen.
That was a bit of a problem since that meant you had to wait for the clumsy man. Which wasn't good because that meant night was drawing closer, your time is running out. "Come on Laventon...don't do this to me." You would give him five minutes.
Then...you would have to make due until you found him out doing his research. Kamado may've banned you from the village, that didn't mean you couldn't interact with anyone outside of it. Seriously though, what was taking him so long?
He should've left the moment you went in to gather your things. Sure it's a few minutes to get to the other side of the village but there was only a few pokemon you really needed. "He's late, the fool." At least Cyllene kept the chatter from reaching your ears.
Couldn't do much for the lingering stares, but beggars couldn't be choosers. But suddenly you felt the ground shaking, your eyes going wide as a bunch of people start rushing towards the gates. "What on earth?"
No one could anticipate this. "No way!" You said to yourself before that you were going to make an impression when you left. But seeing all the pokemon(both supposedly released as well as the ones on your list) heading your way at high speeds was something you couldn't understand let alone expect.
You could only stand there gaping like a fool as two of your faster pokemon, flareon and ponyta leap, crashing into you. "Oof!" Your back smacks painfully into the ground, but you pay it no mind as the two on you cry and nuzzle you senseless.
By the time you manage to sit up, you're ambushed again. Rhyhorn, parasect, raichu, scyther, gyrados, teddiursa, riolu, those were just the few of the many pokemon that surrounded you, giving you affectionate nudges or whined for your attention.
You were feeling lightheaded again, overwhelmed. Most of them should've been released, gone to live out their days in their respected territories. Yet, here they all were, each carrying their pokeballs on them as if it were a prized treasure.
An army's worth of pokemon, loyally and lovingly awaiting orders. "Waaahaaaaa!" Blinking you watch as poor, poor Laventon was on the back of your last remaining pokemon from the pasture. Your shiny rapidash that was doing his hardest to buck the researcher off.
Not a surprise with how stubborn the flaming steed could be. Immediately you bring your fingers to your mouth, sending out a sharp whistle. A sound that automatically calms the raging horned horse. Allowing Laventon to drop to the ground with a groan as the rapidash trots your way.
Bumping your head with his chin. Just like all the others, he had his pokeball on him, and he drops it right into your lap. You pet him, a watery smile forms as the realization settles in. All of your pokemon wanted to come with you.
And when they found out you weren't there to retrieve them, they busted out to seek you. Giving you their response to your negligent decision. "Are you all sure?" You thought you were doing what you thought was best for them.
But, time and time again, pokemon have shown to have very big personalities. Able to speak their mind even without words. With the exception of your current team, shiny rapidash, Gyrados and rhyhorn, the rest of them drop their pokeballs to the ground before touching them.
In a flash of light they all return, ready to be tucked away in your satchel. "Sorry for the trouble professor." He stood up with a cough before dusting himself. "I'm glad I made it in time, though I should've known your pokemon would've acted out without you."
It was too late now to think about it. The starly were heading for the skies. The ghost and nocturnal species of pokemon would be out soon. "Guess there's just one last thing for me to do..." Going through your bag you pull out your uniform.
Bundling it into a ball you toss it high into the air. "Ninetales, aracanine, and rapidash, all of you use flamethrower!" In unison they combine their flames to torch the outfit. From all sides you heard gasps and quiet shrieks at what you've done.
"Well damn...there goes my last good uniform. Such a shame." What was once fabric you wore with pride now falls to the ground as a ball of ash. "Was that really necessary?" On one hand you wanted to apologize to the good captain, as she has pride for the Galaxy team just as much as you did.
On the other, you wanted to point out how she was smiling wryly at your unpredictable(inappropriate) behavior. Regardless you couldn't lie to her. "Absolutely." These people needed to know that though you were leaving, you weren't happy about it.
They would know that you weren't going to simply forgive and forget what's happened to you. Respect was a two way street, barely anyone here earned yours. "Time to kiss this place goodbye once and for all. After you captain." This wasn't the end for you. Hell no. This was just the beginning.
You would scrape and struggle once more. Making a home that could not be destroyed or taken from you again.
to be continued
