Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Psychic Nightmare the 5800-word chapter. I do not own X-Men, Disney, Marvel, and a few others do.
Rachel seemed to be thinking of what was growing on before he tried before he failed. He seemed to be dealt with for now.
She was busy jumbling books, knowing that he could be dealing with it for now as she paused to think of what was going on. He held such a desire for it.
There was nothing about it, nothing that he could do at all. He held too much pain from it. She looked over at Zainn who was busy training.
"Crap!" Zainn yelled as he went flying from one of his blasts. "Ok… I think the full-power one kinda needs me to brace for them, Professor!" Zainn stated before he snorted.
"Noted…. Rachel, you may wish to move." Zainn and Beast put in.
Zainn hummed before he sighed to himself and then looked to the field. He knew more and more that it was not going to be done within a few days.
The boy sighed and crossed his arms, the grey t-shirt on him seemed almost baked in sweat…. Or oil from the training bots, he could not tell.
Rachel hummed, wearing a crimson tank top, red socks, and a pair of maroon shorts as she looked around the room. All of it hurt in different ways…. And even she could not fathom how they would do.
There was something there, something to be had. There was a lot more to be dealt with for now as she paused to look downwards.
"There are a lot of things we need to fix… Like how much power you are draining." Rachel stated to which Zainn paused, almost slamming into the ground.
Zainn was tired now, there were a lot of ideas for now as he paused to glance for now at the end of it.
There was something about it as he clicked to try and figure it out once more as he paused, letting it all happen at the same time.
All of it just meant neither could do much, neither could attempt to act, they would be screwed now and that would not change…. Not at all, he had been too eager to fix it…. Too eager now to understand it.
He had been unable to do anything to make progress and she knew it; she knew it to the end of it…. If there was progress to be made, they were not going to make it this way.
All of it hurt… All of it was going to be for nothing at this part, nothing which he could not aid in at all…. Nothing for now was going to help, nothing at all.
And she knew this more than anything, it did not help…. It would never help…. For there was nothing to be had nothing to try and figure out once more. All of it was going to a head… And he knew it, he knew it to the core.
Zainn leaned on the wall with exhaustion, he knew more and more that whatever problems they held? It would be hard to fix them, after all. These problems were with him and him alone, not someone.
Zainn was still interested in trying to figure out something that needed to be done with it for now. He looked at Rachel as he leaned on the wall.
He had been too focused on what needed to be done for him to improve to focus on Rachel. She was the reason he had managed to get here; she was the reason he could claim he had something to look forward to at the end of the day.
Yes, it was written entirely in stone from there. Yet? It had not seemed to have been done now.
Rachel looked at Zainn before he sighed and looked to the side before, he smirked to himself, looking to the side. She did not know what was going on before it all went to pot.
Whatever little setbacks they had? They would be handled and shunted aside quite easily. Whatever came next? They had a lot more to see and to do since then.
"You are getting better, you know." Zainn heard.
"Trying…. Not sure if I am winning much." Zainn stated before he sighed and looked to the ground before slowly crawling to his feet.
Zainn seemed to be as tired as he was before as he slid down to the ground before she paused to think and tapped on her knees with each passing second.
"That tired?" Rachel asked.
"It takes a lot out of me to fire those blasts I am firing as of now," Zainn stated which needed to be protected.
There were a lot of things that he knew he could not do yet. Zainn was silent, very silent as Rachel was almost thrown off by just how odd it was.
Still? She stood up, the books falling to the ground next to her as she did so. The two mutants shared a look of interest before Rachel spoke up a moment later and looked to the side.
"Professor McCoy? You can stop. I do not think Zainn is going to be doing a lot right now, he does not look so good." Rachel stated as Zainn rolled his eyes.
Zainn was silent even as he sighed to let himself recover for a moment, knowing what was going on at the end of this day and all such days.
It hurt, it would always hurt now, not that she could not fix it. it would just be much harder to repair it if there was no effort to fix it now.
All of it needed to be addressed at one point or another or else it would not end well for them, nope not at all…. Such a thing was only going to be done and dusted at the end of such a harrowing thing, it was clear beyond all shadow of a doubt that such a thing existed.
All of it seemed to be better and better at the end of the day, better and better than it could have been and should have been.
Whatever was going on? Zainn was silent as he glanced around the room, knowing what was going on, and then looking to the side before he sighed to the side and looked once more.
He would not be able to hone his skill if he did not try and figure it out, he paused to let himself down before he sighed to try and figure something out once more.
Rachel looked at him, thinking for the moment how his condition might go at the end of the day. She did not know what was going on at the end of the moment once again.
Both she and Zainn shared a moment of silence before Zainn spoke up, his voice a hoarse whisper that he could not have allowed to have been done and dusted.
"So… We are just going to need to try and fight harder, aren't we?" Zainn asked as he raised an eyebrow and then looked at the ground, knowing what was going on and what he had to do to try and fix it.
Zainn was silent for a moment before she spoke and twirled the books around her fingers, knowing what would happen and just not caring to let it happen that way.
She was silent, knowing very well what would happen and not once being willing to let it die for now.
Nope, not once could he allow it to end this way. He only looked at her and then found something out. She knew very well how it was going and how well it could have been over.
She cleared for a second, knowing what to say.
"Yes, we will have to… It will just be more of a problem if we do not do it soon because then? We are going to have to deal with the fact you are lacking behind the rest of the group." Rachel stated before she fell silent.
She looked downwards, tired and ragged from it all.
Zainn paused to look downwards at the ground as Rachel hummed and tapped on her arms before he and her looked upwards and into the sky.
Zainn frowned as Rachel tapped on her bare arms before she looked to the side. She hummed, tired and able to try and figure it out once more.
"We're going to have to try and up the training you get so we get more training," Rachel stated before she looked downwards.
She did not understand what was to happen and what would be done next. Whatever the next move was? They could not seize it respectfully for now and for a good reason so he did not act as of now.
There was something there, something to shift through and she knew it. She knew damn well what trying to get mixed up in it now.
Whatever was going to happen? It was clear both needed training, both had been through the wringer and sand. Such things would only push them towards something worse, something far worse than it should have been.
He had been through the wringer for a reason. Rachel hummed, bending over to stretch to her toes and then straightening up, whatever was going to have occurred for now, knowing that Zainn sighed and then looked over at her, knowing what was to come next for now and enjoying every single minute.
Zainn was not stupid either when it came to that, not even a little and he was willing to do something about it.
Zainn paused and then looked downwards at the ground, he had been entirely too bored for now.
Zainn sighed and looked over at Rachel who was silent, knowing that Zainn was just as tired for now, he had been too unwilling to relax, to let it rest and she knew it. She knew damn well that if they backed down? It was going to end badly.
There was nothing sort of amusement, nothing about it all seemed to be done again and again, not even that would end it for there was still plenty to see and to do, plenty of which needed to be dealt with.
Zainn hummed and cracked his fingers and then looked up into the sky as Rachel drummed on her feet, tired of… Something about it moved him in ways it should not have for a good reason.
'She knows what I'm thinking, she knows every single fear I have, every drop of indecision I will ever have… Damn it, I hate to have to fight someone with that power.' Zainn thought.
"You won't," Rachel said as Zainn snorted and shook a finger at her.
"You know, as cool as reading my mind is? It is very scary you can do it and then do things like fly or throw people with your mind… Because it means you have power that nobody else has and yet you still want to try and do something good with it." Zainn stated before he sighed.
"Power matters with what you do with it, it isn't all about having it," Rachel said.
"I know… But you have a LOT of it for someone my age. You could take over half the world and I do not think half the people here could stop you." Zainn stated before he sighed and looked to the side.
He was not stupid and he would never be, not in his lifetime. Not at the end of it, there was something there to stop and catch him either way, he had to be better than this if only by a small little margin.
There were a few seconds of silence while it ended and ended very well… Only problem was simple, they would be fighting against something they did very well.
There was always going to be a problem with training, however. Rachel knew very well that all of them were dealing with emerging powers, the attempt to control abilities they did not fully understand.
There were a lot of things that he could not deal with and so much more that bothered him. Rachel took a seat on the wall, looking over at him as both shared a moment of peace.
Zainn grunted, his bones popping as the light-controlling superhero looked at Rachel.
"So, this is a day in the life of the X-Men?" Zainn joked as Rachel hummed, nodding. "Cool… Going to take some getting used to…. That and I am curious why a bunch of students end up getting costumes." Zainn stated.
"You are still superheroes…. You still are going to be fighting the forces of disorder and chaos." Beast stated, landing behind the two. "I just simply question how much time we have until they come for us once more," Beast added.
"Magneto or others? You still have not taught him about Sentinels, Professor Hank." Rachel said before Zainn glanced at her. "They are giant robots whom the government or other people use to kill mutants… We fight them a lot." Rachel stated.
"You guys fight giant robots…. Robots that kill Mutants? Ok, I think that is going to need to be the first topic on the chalkboard today alongside 'bad guy mutants that want to take over the world and prove mutants are better.'" Zainn stated.
There were a lot of things that needed to be done. There was entirely something to take part in when it came down to it.
They had a lot to learn when it came down to it, a lot more, and a lot beyond this. She knew more and more when it came to it. They were going to be fighting something far beyond the pale.
They were not going to be pleased when they figured out that they had to learn to help save the entire planet. Granted? One would not blame that upon it now.
To be entirely fair? Rachel was smart enough to know exactly how to deal with it for now at the time being, they had to hone the skills of this slowly and surely and all such skill needed. What little they held onto was enough to drive them insane.
The pain of that was something she could work with as did they all. It was a lot to take in for now and that was not to change until they were put up to the paces, they were going to be ready for now at the time being and understandable.
All of it was annoying and all of it was depressing when it came down to it. They had so much work and so little to see and do that, all of it was going to be harder and harder when push came to shove.
All of it seemed to be more than could be handled. They would be willing to let them come crashing down the line, knowing that it could be done and dusted, knowing what was going on, and knowing how it would work.
Both mutants could tell a LOT was coming to them a lot would be upon them well enough. If they did not try? It would be too chaotic if they did. This would be incredibly one-sided for now.
'How many people are we going to fight until this is all said and done?' Zainn thought of himself.
Zainn was able to think of what to try and figure out as he paused to try and figure it all out when it came down to it. He and she both shared a look at each other before he came down the line.
She will be able to think of it, there were a lot of things when it was all over as she paused to let it come and crash it down.
Both looked to the side, knowing what was going on, and knew what was going on when it came to the issues coming.
She paused to try and figure out a plan as all of them waited, as they fought best and readied for a war, they might draw in.
"Ok. We must fight, time to train… Let us go." Zainn stated before now.
There was something else on her mind. She knew what was going on now and did not wish to relax.
"What is the next move?" Zainn stated.
(In an undisclosed location)
Magneto watched as the group of mutants argued, as they bickered and told of things, they should not dwell upon… As they spoke of things, they were ignorant of.
All of them knew nothing about what was coming, they knew nothing of what was going on when it was all said and done.
They knew little in the way of heroic deeds, there were a lot of things that the Brotherhood did not know, did not wish to… All of it was said and done.
She was unfamiliar with it, unfamiliar with it all. There was more chaos on it as of now… Whatever he did not know? They did not know what was happening next.
However? He did know what was to happen next. It had occurred so differently and it had been so differently.
At times? He did not at all know what the brotherhood was up to something, it would be over so easily.
"We should have just killed those brats. If we did? They would not have more recruits!" He heard from Sabretooth.
"Yes, slaughter the entire group. That will help mutant kind, you overgrown carpet." Mystique stated. "You are just proving why you're a soldier and not a member of the Brotherhood," Mystique stated with venom in her tone.
Erik sighed, Magneto was not stupid and he knew if they were against the entire group now. Charles would have a much stronger position in the war they waged against one another.
None of Erik's soldiers were prepared for what needed to be done, none of them wished to see it for now as he clicked it into place, he had not been able to try and figure it out for now.
Such an idea was growing better and better at the end of the day.
He had been unable to try and figure it all down. Whatever Erik was able to do? He wished to try and come to an understanding, one which he seemed to believe Charles wished for.
He had been eager to try and figure it out once more as it crashed downwards to it. Whatever happened next? He needs to be prepared for it now.
The bickering, they argued and figured it out slowly and yet surely…. This was a lot more chaotic when it was all said and done.
(With the X-Men)
Zainn was tired, very tired, and very unable to think of what he had to do next and then glanced to the side.
Rachel seemed to be dealt with for now as she thought of the next moment. She was tired of things when it was all said and done with such ideas and she knew she was still a student when it came down to it.
Rachel hummed and rubbed at her nose, she poked at a book, tired and unable to deal with such an idea. Rachel was still able to think of what was growing on her mind.
Rachel sighed and crossed her arms as she paused to think. She was able to try and figure it out once more as she seemed to be prepared for now.
She was not willing to let it go now. Rachel seemed to grow more and more tired with each passing breath as if she could not for the life of her understand what they were to do next.
They were teenagers asked to do the impossible, teenagers asked to not only mend the barrier between Mutant Kind and the Humans but to stop those who wished to see it all.
The pain was all too interesting in it was all over as she looked over to Zainn, watching as he sighed once more. She wished to try and figure it out once more as it came down to it.
The idea was all too easily done for now. She was now chaotically balancing to try and figure out what the next move was and what the next idea was.
She was all too easily divided on things; she was all too divided on the next move she would have made if she was Charles or Hank or such.
How did they deal with it? How did they possibly recant on things done in the future and understandable when it came crashing down to it as of now before all such things were decided?
She did not know and she did not believe she would ever know for certain what would come now and for good reason.
"Professor Hank? Uh… Professor Xavier?" Zainn asked which drew Beast's attention.
"Hmm?" Beast asked.
"Are there any science classes on this X… Gene?" Zainn asked.
"There will be, why do you ask?" Beast asked.
"I am just curious; we get powers but the gene is random? How, is it? A DNA helix where we get a split number from our parents or is it a random cell?" Zainn questioned.
Beast went to say something before Zainn hummed.
"I pay attention in school… Even if Donnie might lie and say I do not." Zainn stated.
"The X-Gene is very fascinating, even though I do not fully understand it," Beast stated.
"I have a hunch," Zainn stated as he touched a lightbulb and energy went from it into his hands. "I have an idea how my power might work… Little one anyway if it has to do with those nerves that go from my brain to my arms." Zainn stated.
"You mean the gene might be allowing you to fire this light energy from your nerves and doing so may in turn tire you out? Yes, it might make sense. You are trying to do something as simple as running tires a human out, and you are effectively weaponizing that energy… Not calories I mean." Beast stated.
"So, his X-Gene is the ability to weaponize something?" Rachel asked.
"No. it is something along the lines of channeling energy through his body and firing off powerful blasts but it only seems to be around sources of light. Zainn cannot stand outside and just feed off the sun." Beast heard.
Zainn stated before he looked to the side. He had been too interested in what was going on in the minds of more powerful mutants.
Rachel looked to the side and then thought of what was growing on her mind as she paused to try and figure it out when it came to such a thing.
She was silent, too silent before she looked to the side and then looked at the rest of the friends as she paused to let it come down the line. Something that needed to be done sooner or later.
Rachel hummed and then rubbed at her temples before she fell silent, not wanting to think of it as she paused to let itself end when it came down to itself.
She was not done with such a problem when it came to it as she paused to try and figure it out once more.
She did not wish to let the feelings end, to let the problems die before they had been properly becoming of it when it came to it.
Rachel was eager to figure out something as she paused to let it come to the idea.
She and he both looked to the side, questioning before she wanted to keep growing more and more tired with each little second pushing them towards a short little bit of amusement.
She and he both seemed bored, tired, and exhausted for now and for good.
He held no such compulsions as for now, no objections as she looked to him before she seemed to try and deal with it as she looked to the side.
She did not know what the next move would be as she paused to let it all come crashing down.
Rachel was silent, she did not know when it came to it as she paused, letting herself relax as she paused to let it come down to it as he wished to relax.
Zainn for his part showed little in the way of slowing down, little in the way of avoiding training. In fact? He seemed to be eager to embrace it.
Granted? She was not stupid, not at all and she could tell that this was going to be dealt with for now as it came down to it.
She was eager to figure it out as she paused to let it be handled.
"You should know just how well things are going to be done," Rachel said.
"I have no intention of slacking, Rachel," Zainn stated before he sighed and looked to the side, and hummed, thinking more.
Zainn knew now, knowing what was expected of him and beyond as she paused to let it all come crashing for now. She did not at all know when it came down to it.
She had been too interested in what he was trying to do… Not once could she have been eager to fix it and for a good reason.
What she did do next? She knew without a shadow of a doubt that such a thing was going to be thrown down the line.
Rachel hummed to herself before he seemed to let it come down to try and understand it. Rachel watched as a book floated toward her hand.
Zainn watched with a fascination one could credit to her more than anything he could do.
Zainn hummed as more and more power seemed to be dancing around his hand. She seemed to be prepared for now as she paused to let it come.
She did not at all know what Rachel could do before she paused to let it all end.
She did not wish to let Zainn fight when it came down to it as she cracked her fingers and then thought of her options to train her. Rachel hummed as she realized just how strong it would and could be.
She watched as Zainn hummed and then looked to the side. Rachel hummed and drummed her fingers on her legs, curious as she paused to let her exhaustion pass her away for now.
She was eager to let it come down to it, eager to fight it all out to the end, to the end of all days, and until it was all said and done.
She had no such idea what Zainn was up to besides trying to grow stronger and stronger and stronger and stronger with each passing little second of the day.
Rachel seemed to be thinking of what was growing on Zainn's mind before he clicked his fingers.
Zainn looked to the side and his hands glowed with more and more energy as he looked around, tired, and confused now.
"Ok, so… These sentinels, they more dangerous than Magneto? I do not see how a robot is stronger than a guy throwing houses around." Zainn stated.
"Magneto is an omega class mutant; the sentinels could not touch him if they tried… They are made from metal." Rachel stated as Zainn hummed.
"Oh, great. The guy who attacked us is beyond mutant killers… That is a fun thought." Zainn stated before he sighed to himself.
He wished to relax but the idea of it seemed to be more than he wished. The idea of it terrified Zainn so much he did not notice his own hands shake in fear.
He had been too tired, too exhausted to properly think anyway as he slid down the wall, eager to figure out something.
"You did well… But there is a REASON I told you not to try and fight Magneto." Rachel stated before she sighed and looked to the side, too exhausted. "Magneto is just as powerful as Charles; you try and fight him? He can and WILL kill you if you cannot fight well, and you cannot." Rachel stated.
Zainn hummed, too interested in the words he would have said if he was still ignorant.
Zainn was confused but he was not stupid, he would not remain stupid. He was tired, too much but he was worn down to the end of it.
A super powerful mutant who could and would probably rend Zainn in half? Mutant killer robots? It was too much for him to bear at the end of the day, such was life and life was too much for him to handle.
Rachel hummed and looked to the side, she did not know what to tell Zainn to ease his mind, she knew him and knew exactly how it was going.
She knew that Zainn of all people was confused, he had no idea what all of this was, and yet? Here he was trying to help her and the others, he was doing what he had left to do next.
All of it? All of it seemed better and better with each little moment, she had been familiar with mutants and their shortcomings as of now.
Zainn reminded her of herself when she had been told all of what needed to be done and dusted. She knew what was going on but she did not wish to relax so much that he might as well crash and burn
Each second it was decided for real and for good reason.
She knew exactly what was going on and she had no intention of what was to happen as of the time being.
Zainn sighed and paused, too interested in what he would do next. Rachel was eager to figure it out and she knew he was too interested in the next move for now.
It was hard enough for him to admit he was scared, why? Because it would show her that his bravado could and would crumble… The rest of him was too easy to figure out, something more and more.
Instead? He was silent, he would need time to deal with it for now, he paused to try and figure it out now as he seemed to be ready for now as he thought of what was growing.
He wished to try and figure it out once for now as he thought of what was happening or what was being done now.
Rachel hummed, she hummed a thousand times as she thought more and more about what the goal was. Training would not be easy and it never was… But she knew she could not allow Zainn to know she was scared as she could sense his fear and his hesitance to help.
Not because he was a coward, no. She sensed courage within him… But he doubted he would be much help to the group now and that angered at the end of the day, she could not help more… She would not let him see it for now and she would not let it end for now.
She would be done now; she would not be able to try and figure it out as she paused to wish down more and more at the end of the day.
Rachel was eager to figure it out now and too interested in what was growing for now as she paused to let herself for now as she wished to think once more.
Rachel was determined to see it through as she kicked him playfully, watching as he wiggled his nose, eager to understand. He smirked and pushed her foot aside as she tried to kick him again, she knew that he would fight and fight well if he was pushed to his limits.
That? That she could do, that she would do, and do well at this. She would not relent but she did manage to relax now and for good reason.
All of this was too much. It might be enough for her… But it was too much either damn way when it came down to it at the end of the day. She was too tired and too unable to figure it all out.
She knew what was going on at the end of the day, they had a lot more to see and do next at the time being. Rachel watched as a group of books all floated by her with exhaustion and amusement in equal measure at all of it.
Zainn for his part? Chose to remain silent, very silent in fact when it came down to it all now and again and again and again at each little second when push came to shove now and for good.
Zainn was too interested in what was growing on his mind before he looked to the side and then thought once more as he clicked his fingers before he thought of what was being done.
Zainn hummed, cracked his fingers before long, and then looked to the side and she thought of her own goals.
(With Magneto)
Magneto was too interested as he sighed, and thought of what was going on when it came down to it once more. There were a lot of things that needed to be figured out what was being as she looked to the side.
He was tired, she was very eager to try and deal with such distractions as of now when it came down to it.
Magneto stayed silent. He knew that the rest of the group was silent, he knew his minions were not going to understand what he had wanted for now when it came down to it.
The metal-controlling mutant was tired, too tired, and exhausted from trying to figure it out now. They had a lot of things when it came crashing down to it as of now.
Magneto was silent, too eager to figure out what was growing on her mind before Erik relaxed now. He knew more and more with each little second of silence on his mind.
Whatever he had to try and figure out? Well, he was annoyed with it, annoyed for now with what he would deal with now, and for good reason.
He cracked his fingers and then thought once more, too interested for now in what he had to be done and dusted.
Erik did not even understand what his group would do now. He was eager to think of evening the problem before it came crashing to the ground once more as he sighed.
Erik was too interested in the next move, in the next idea for now… He did not know what was growing on his mind once more.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will be 900-6500 words and will be showing more and more of both Rachal and Zainn bonding and more of a trip outside the school. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
