Afterword/Author's note:
Hello, reader.
Well, here we are. The end. The curtain has fallen upon this story with its rather niche setting. I must admit, it was very interesting to write, to spin a web of connections between the two franchises.
When I was writing this, I decided to not include any author notes imbedded at the end of each chapter. This was because I wished to make the reading experience more fluid, without me popping in to add little out-of-universe notes here and there.
This story was born from the first time I read Stephen King's 'It', about a year or so ago. As I finished the iconic first chapter, still reeling from little Georgie's death, I thought to myself: What if it wasn't a clown in the drain? What if it was . . . SCP-106?
As you can see, it has come a long way from that emotionally-driven idle thought. I've been a fan of the SCP Foundation for a long time prior to reading any of Stephen King's writing, and I think both are certainly masterpieces of human imagination, pinnacles of the horror genre.
When I began this project, I spent a lot of time wondering to myself: Is this crossover too obscure? Is anyone going to read this? You can imagine my joy then, at the knowledge that you and other readers have read this story. It was the accountability that I felt from this that kept me going, that dragged me back day after day to write some more for this project. Thank you all for your attentions, and for giving this story a chance.
A special thanks must go to jonnyjj245, for your review that you published early in this project. I read it for the first time on my birthday, and let me say, it was a pretty shit birthday up until that point.
And if you disagreed with anything I did in this story, if you thought I could have written something better, feel free to post a review. Or, if you'd rather not publicly criticise/compliment me, feel free to shoot me a PM. I'm always interested in constructive criticism, and ways to improve my writing style. (Note: I am not giving you permission to shit on me for the sake of shitting on me. Constructive criticism. Key word there: constructive.)
And now we're finished. The book has closed, and I should yield my place before I begin just blathering. I hope you have a wonderful day. There are a couple of more projects in the works that may be coming at you before the year is out, but if there's anything I've leant from life, it's that nothing is set in stone. This might even be the last time you hear from me.
Who knows, really?
Thanks once again, reader.
