Author notes in the end of the chapter
Why did she even sign up on this website again?
Oh yeah she was supposed to be the pen pal of a prisoner…
Were her social skills really this bad that the only people she can talk to is a teacher and probably a murderer.
All kinds of thoughts were dancing on Kyoko's head as she stared at the blank page that was supposed to be filled for more than a week.
But who could blame her? What was she supposed to even say to a man that she has never met in her entire life and is definitely someone dangerous.
Is she supposed to ask him how the weather was or his favorite food or what he does on the days he gets bored because this definitely would make him more angry then interested and she didn't want to face the wrath of such a person.
Who knows might one word of hers sound wrong and he makes it his life mission to come and kill her.
Well now she was getting over her head as if she was a main character of a thriller drama.
Can she ask him if he has dreams?
Can she ask him if things were not the way they were, what was he going to do with his life?
Can she ask him if he believes in fairytales and other mythical beings like fairies?
He would probably think of her as someone crazy but was he in a position to judge her ?
All the thoughts about fairytales made her decide that if she won't be able to write interesting stuff about herself (what is even interesting about a plain and boring person anyway) and can't also ask him personal questions telling a story wouldn't be so bad right?
I mean he could probably use something to get his mind off and fill his free time which he must have a lot in there.
So she decided and she would do this damned it if it turns out bad he wasn't her literature teacher or a book critic in the end.

The prince and his sword
In a distant country in the middle of the clearest seas ruled a wise king with a beautiful queen.
The king and queen were loved by many and their love for each other made it to legends and stories for kids through all the continent.
As love is, love also bears fruits and weren't their fruit one of the finest.
The queen birthed a golden prince. An angel since birth as if god carved his own child and decided to gift him to the world.
Not only had the prince an unmatched beauty like his mother, his intelligence suppressed that of scholars too.
A genius at the mere age of 5 and a prodigy at 10. Rumors say that the prince might even suppress his father as he continues to grow more.
But with love came also jealousy and with jealousy came hate.
If the citizens and poor loved the prince not the same could be said about the nobles and especially those that were thirsty for a taste of power.
As much love the prince faced he also faced wrath from those who were supposed to be closest to him.
In the beginning if it might have been just spiteful words and rumors to hurt him, as the prince grew so did the wrath of others which would lead to his first assassination attempt at only 20 years old.
The king and queen were too worried about their only child even if the prince was surrounded by a group of the best knights in the country they still felt as if he wasn't safe enough.
So they searched through all the continent to find the best knight for their prince, a shadow that wouldn't leave his side, a sword that would protect him and also take the burn of those attacks.
And they found her.
One day came the brother of the king with a young woman following him, her steps so light as she was floating instead of walking.
When the duke presented her to the king as the prince's sword of course the king and queen were skeptical at first.
Could such a frail looking young lady really protect their dear son so they can finally be able to sleep at night without the fear of waking up and something happening to him.
But her great deeds and training as if she was made for this reason spoke more than any words and the king always believed his brother's judgment sometimes more than his own.
So now it was time for the prince to meet his sword–

Kyoko stared at her screen.
She couldn't believe she actually did this.
She always had a passion for writing as her heart always yearned and loved the beautiful fairytales but to make up a story herself felt surreal.
She wasn't able to finish it because she needed to know.
Will he be willing to read and want more?
Would he find her story interesting enough to send a request for another letter or maybe if she was lucky a response from him?
Her thoughts as always get the best of her but this time she actually did it and without thinking more she pressed the send button for her letter to be sent at the post office so they can actually deliver it in paper format to the prison.
Even if she didn't want to, this was something that needed to be done and in the end she really had nothing to lose.
A/N: Woww an update what's happening?!!?!!
Well probably most of you have forgotten this story as I almost did too… tbh I just been having a really bad block with this one where I don't know what to write next because in my mind it was supposed to be a oneshot and I fought the urge to delete it many times but in the end I couldn't do it when I remembered that some of you actually read this and wanted more which makes me more happy than one could ever imagine!!
I promise I am not giving up on this story, even my updates are so slow and short and even if only one person is willing to read it just know I'm not giving up and will finish it hopefully good and interesting enough for you to stay 33
Also Kyokos story was inspired by one of my favorite sb fanfics "Kyoko has a sword" by claraowl and miss mika namariya please read it its so amazing!!!
