Once they came out of the Woods, Taran and the gang stood in front of a Crossroads, e With a sign in the Middle pointing in two separate directions, The lettering decayed with age.
"So… which way did the tracks go again?" Asked Eilonwy.
"Uh, Gurgi, not sure…" Gurgi replied scratching his head. "Piggy surely came this way, Up this… Rocky hilly."
"Ugh, The rocks don't leave any tracks." Taran said as he looked to the ground. "We'll never find out which way she went!"
"Alas it may seem so." Fflewddur lamented, with a soft stroke of his harp. "Oh well, We tried, so what are we going to…"
"Wait!" Eilonwy said, as her Bauble appeared beside her. "Maybe, If I had my Bauble…"
She then whispered something into it and the floating orb floated to the ground and shone on whatever it could find, before long, It illuminated a set of pigtails on the Right path.
"There." Eilonwy said, as she pointed down the path. "That's where we'll go."
"Then right it shall be." Fflewddur said, puffing his chest out, and marching down the path, Taran, Eilonwy and Gurgi followed behind, None the Wiser to the Stranger creature following their every waking move.
The Hunter was a shifty Orc Like Creature, with blue hair, Bull horns, and a spear in his brown gloved hands, he watched the group intently, before sneaking off after them, cackling to himself all the while.
""Eh heh heh heh Heh, The master will be pleased, Once I have the Pig, His favor will be mine!" He said to himself, before tripping on a pebble, slipped and fell flat on his back. "Dang it."
Later,
The Path ent upwards through a Rocky Trail, with mist swirling about, making it difficult for the travelers, with the bauble being their only way to see through.
"Helpful little thing isn't it." Fflewdurr commented, As the Bauble glided through the mist, its yellow light sticking to the ground following the Pig Tracks.
"There's no way Hen Wen would come this way." Taran said disbelievingly. "It's too misty!"
"Well believe what you want." Eilonwy replied. "If Hen Wen did come this way- Agh!" She then brought her leg up and clutched it.
"What's wrong?" Asked Taran.
"Think I stubbed my toe." Eilonwy winced.
Eilonwy managed to carry on regardless, With the Bauble guiding the group every step of the way, Gurgi managed to hobble down a small precipice, when he noticed a shape in the mist.
"Hey… Hey what that?" He asked, pointing at the shape as it moved in the Mists.
"What? Fflewdurr looked over to what Gurgi was pointing towards. "Oh, probably nothing to worry about."
His harp snapped a cord in response.
"Oh come on, It isn't is it?" He scoffed, as he tried to apply a new string.
Taran then saw another shape himself, and slightly drew his Sword. "Who's there?"
No one replied.
"What kind of Hills are these?" Eilonwy asked.
"Hmm, The Foothills of the Eagle Mountains." Fflewdurr responded, before scratching his chin thoughtfully. "Or at least they should be, Never known there to be so much mist."
"Then we'll have to stop before dark than." Eilonwy said.
"What?!" Taran exclaimed. "But Hen Wen could be out here, we can't stop now!"
Before anyone could tell Taran otherwise, A long noise was heard through the Mist.
"Is that…?" Taran asked.
"Hmm, Perhaps a… small fire should suffice." Fflewdurr said, nervously.
Later that night.
The Bauble had directed them to a small crevice, nestling down the Hill, The mist had cleared up by now, And the group had put together a small fire.
"There we are." Said Fflewddur. As he stoked the fire with a few more dry Twigs. "Nothing like a good campfire to buck you up when things look low, Eh?"
"Hmm, It should keep the wolves away." Taran said despondently.
"Oh, they won't bother us." Ffleddurr laughed. "...Probably not yet."
"You make it sound like all we have to look forward to is being Gobbled up." Eilonwy said.
"If they attack, We can stand them off." Taran said. "We've been through worse."
"Hmm, I'd like to think we have Taran." Eilonwy murmured. "But… I don't know, sometimes… It feels like there's always something worse up ahead."
"Ah, A Fflam never fears the unknown." Fflewdurr proclaimed. "Whatever happens, We'll persevere together." And then felt his stomach rumble. "By the way um, Would you happen to have any of those… Mushrooms left, Would you?"
"No." Eilonwy stated.
"Oh, Just thought I'd ask."
Meanwhile,
The Hunter marched along the path, looking for any sign of his prey.
"Damn Pig keeper." He muttered to himself. "Couldn't get far."
He pressed his face to the ground and sniffed it. "Ah, they were here…"
He readied his spear and looked to see if his quarry was near, But he couldn't find them, All he could find was mist, and unknowing to him, the eyes of a Wolf stalking his every step.
