The Heelers traveled at a slow rate, they had to get through heavy traffic during rush hour. Finally, Bluey spoke "M-mum, dad" She tried to not cry as she spoke "I know…that this is all my fault, that I'm a bad dog…and I just wanted to say that I understand if you hate me" Upon hearing these words Chilli clenched her fist "and I won't be mad if you put me in jail for what I did" Bandit became sad and sighed, perhaps he had been way too harsh to her earlier it was an accident, he saw it was an accident, even Chilli knew it was.
"We don't hate you Bluey, we could never" Chilli finally spoke to Bluey for the first time since Bingo's death. Bandit nodded in agreement "Yeah, I'm sorry if I've been a mean dad to you kiddo, I was just angry and hurt but that doesn't mean I don't love you"Chilli would turn to give her daughter a reaffirming pet on the head "And we wouldn't put you in jail, we already lost one child, I don't think we'd be able to handle it if we lost another sweetheart." Bluey had once again let herself cry, but this time out of relief.
Even though she had reconciled with her parents, the car ride was still just as slow and quiet as it had been before she said anything but she knew one thing in her heart, her parents' love for her was unconditional. Soon after the three would be alerted once they arrived home, paramedics and three Retrievers would be standing outside of Pat's house. Wendy would also happen to be standing outside with a distressed look on her face, Bandit would approach her "Is everything alright? What happened?" Wendy wouldn't even look at Bandit 'It's Pat….he's dead, they said it was suicide" Bandit nearly turned pale upon hearing these words 'Pat is dead?! AND it was suicide?!' He turned to face the ambulance only to see Janelle getting out of it, one look at her face and he could tell she was devastated, it was the same look Chilli had upon Bingo's death. He didn't know what to say, his very friendly neighbor that played with Bluey and Bingo as if they were his own children, one of his closest friends, was gone not too long after he had lost his own daughter. Chilli had wanted to walk over to Janelle to comfort her but she knew she wouldn't be able to find the words, she was still in mourning herself, how could she make someone else feel better if she was still depressed? Chucky had walked inside and Lucky stared at Bluey for a few seconds before giving her a nod, she would return one to him as well then walk into her home. Bandit sat at the couch in silence and Chilli would walk upstairs to her and Bandit's room. Bluey couldn't help but feel uneasy about everything that had happened, while she wasn't close with Pat like her father was, she still appreciated the things that he had done for her and her sister even when he could have simply ignored the Heeler family. She sighed and laid on her bed, she hadn't been able to willingly fall asleep but she was still a small 7 year old with limitations, she would eventually drift off to sleep unknowingly.
Bandit couldn't believe this turn of events, he blamed himself for not checking in on his friend more, perhaps he could have prevented this or maybe even talked Pat out of it, he groaned at the thought "Could I have really done something?" Eventually his mind came to a blank and he too like Bluey would slowly but surely fall asleep. Chilli would walk in Bluey's room and look at her sleeping daughter, she walked over to her and stroked the sleeping pup's head "I'm sorry if I hurt you or made you feel more alone sweetheart, I do still love you, I'll always love you" she kissed her daughter's head then she sat in Bingo's bed and gripped the pillow "I'll always love you too" She knew she wouldn't receive any responses but she felt a little better after voicing her opinions anyways.
Bluey found herself at the playground, she looked around a bit and she saw her parents sitting st the bench smiling together, then she turned her head a little and saw her younger sister sitting on the swings. She walked over to Bingo and gave her a small smile "Need a little help?" Bingo turned and faced her then gave her a small nod "Sure Bluey I could use a little push" Once that last word exited Bingo's mouth Bluey could have sworn she saw Bingo's fur change color for a split second before reverting back to normal, then she shrugged it off. Something didn't feel right as she approached Bingo from behind, something in her mind was screaming at her to not push Bingo. Bluey set her hands on Bingo's shoulders but soon found out Bingo's body was ice cold to the touch, she shuttered "Ready Bingo?" Bingo nodded once again "Ready!" Bluey gently pulled Bingo back then pushed her forward. However Bluey used much more force than she intended to, the swing had moved at intense speed and flung Bingo off at incredible heights. Bandit and Chilli eyes widened as they both ran towards Bingo. Bluey saw something approaching and turned her head. It was a car traveling at great speed, Bluey felt her heart sink and quickly ran to save her sister "Bingo! No!" She ran as fast as she could but before she knew it, she was falling. "Bluey!" Bingo had shouted as her fur quickly became pale, Bluey looked out and in a final effort reached out to her sister "WHY BLUEY?" Bluey couldn't save her, Bluey was falling helplessly, soon she heard a thud and assumed the worst, Bingo had been hit by a car. "NO!" Bluey's eyes shot open, she was panting and drenched with her own sweat. She had noticed she had fallen out of her bed and was now on the floor, most likely causing the thud she heard in her dreams.
Her shout had awoken her mother "Bluey? What's wrong?" Chilli quickly sat up to see if Bluey was hurt. Bluey simply began to sob and ran to her mum. "I-I" She struggled to speak, ever since that horrible day, Bluey's dreams have been tormenting her non-stop "Mum, I'm so sorry…I'm so sorry…I'm so sorry" she could only repeat what she felt, she wanted her torment to end, she wanted to be happy, she wanted her sister back. Chilli hugged Bluey tightly and sniffled, it didn't matter what she said, she couldn't help Bluey, she couldn't take away her pain. Bandit watched from the doorway and walked in then placed his hand on Bluey's shoulder. He felt guilty for yelling at her before, despite her actions having severe, permanent consequences, this was still a 7 year old girl, he didn't have to be so harsh and snap at her earlier "You didn't mean to hurt Bingo, and she wouldn't want you to hurt this way remember what she said?" Bandit tried reminding her of Bingo saying she forgave Bluey on her deathbed. What the three heelers didn't know however was that things were going to become more difficult for Bluey.
Within the past few hours, Chucky had read Pat's note over and over again in his grief. At first he was just trying to get some possible understanding out of his father's suicide. The note itself made it seem like Pat had gone completely mad, could intense guilt do this to a person? Being unable to sleep he just continued to read it some more, he also couldn't understand why Pat would go so far to atone by killing Lucky. After what was probably the 120th time reading he began to notice something else, the note had capital letters, would someone who was planning on killing themselves even care about such a thing? "Is this some sort of code?" Chucky then pulled out a piece of paper and pencil and wrote down each capital letter "B-L-U-E-Y-P-U-S-H-E-D-H-E-R" He pieced the letters together a few times in his mind until it clicked "Bluey pushed her?" It didn't make sense. However Chucky finally understood, Pat must've seen Bluey push Bingo into his car while he was driving…but that couldn't be right could it? Bluey would never hurt Bingo. Chucky tossed his "decoded" message in the trash and set Pat's note down, he sighed and closed his eyes. An image of his father's bloody corpse flashed in his head, shocking him and forcing his eyes open, he looked outside to see the sun rising. "Must've dozed off" he muttered, he wanted to doubt what his dad had written on the paper but he couldn't get the thought out of his head, he quietly snuck out of his house and headed towards the Heeler's yard. Despite being at a distance from their house he heard Bluey sobbing. He knew she missed Bingo just as his mum was missing his dad, but he walked quietly and slowly towards their house and maneuvered his way until he was under Bluey's bedroom window, if he got caught he would make an excuse, he stood where he would be able to hear bits and pieces of any conversation "Mum, I'm so sorry…I'm so sorry…I'm so sorry" Chucky tilted his head to hear them better then he heard Bandit speak "You didn't mean to hurt Bingo, and she wouldn't want you to hurt this way remember what she said?" Chucky's eyes widened upon hearing this clearly. "T-then Bluey kil-" Chucky had the confirmation he really didn't want to hear, Bluey was responsible for the death of his crush. He felt unexplainable rage build in his body and he clenched his fist, his breathing got faster. While Chucky was feeling sympathy for her moments prior, he now hated Bluey with every fiber of his being. He turned towards his house and bolted towards the door. Bluey will pay, I swear dad, I swear Bingo. Lucky walked outside where he saw Chucky jump over the fence back into their own yard "What were you doing over there?" Chucky walked past him without giving him a single glance "I was getting my ball out their yard" It didn't take long before Lucky discovered that Chucky was empty handed, and there was no ball in either yard, he thought it was odd but he felt like Chucky wouldn't want to talk about it so he just ignored it.
What nobody knew was that Chucky now knew the truth, and that he was furious. He sat by himself and thought of ways to make Bluey feel agonizing pain that would result in her death. Childish ideas he had seen in cartoons ran through his head, trapping her in a hot room so she would suffocate, maybe finding a way to drown her, perhaps something more simple and attacking her with a cricket bat? He slammed his fist on the table How could he, a five year old pup hurt Bluey realistically? This plan would take some time but even if it took the rest of his life, he would avenge them.
A.N.: I hope the readers continue to enjoy this story no matter how odd it may get at times, once again, thanks for the reviews
