"So it's just you two today?" Adaman asked.
"Yep, is that alright?" Seer Ash asked, as they reached the Frozen Tundra.
"It's fine, just wanted to make sure I knew who I was taking with me to camp." Adaman said. "Are you alright Ashlyn?"
"Huh? Yeah, yeah I'm fine, just it's nothing." Trap Ash said, snapping out of his daze. "I was just thinking about someone, and being here reminded me of them."
"Must be someone mighty special." Adaman said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I just hope that they're not worried about me right now." Trap Ash said.
"I'm sure they know you're fine on your own." Adaman said. "Now both of you keep close, this entire area has a cave system beneath it, one wrong step and you could get lost."
"I mean couldn't we just fly back out?" Seer Ash asked.
"Not in these, this cavern system is huge and multilayered, thankfully I know the way through this field no problem." Adaman said.
"AVA!" A roar cried out.
"What was that?!" Seer Ash exclaimed, looking around.
"It's just an Avalugg, don't worry they aren't much of the fighting without cause types." Adaman said.
"Yeah, but what about a headlong rush!" Trap Ash said, seeing a Pokemon heading straight for them. "Look out!"
Trap Ash shoved Adaman and Seer Ash out of the way as the wild Avalugg threw him into a hole that lead into the cavern system below.
"ASHLYN!" Seer Ash exclaimed, running towards the hole.
"Cassidy stop!" Adaman said. "We have a plan for when this happens, let's head to the Diamond Clan and get everyone together, and then we can go and find her."
"Right, right." Seer Ash said, taking a breath. "I'm just worried that they might be hurt is all."
"Knowing you five, she'll be fine, but we need to stay level headed if we want to find her. Now come on." Adaman said.
Down below
"Owww." Trap Ash groaned, rubbing his head. "How far did I fall? Pikachu are you alright?"
"Piiii." Pikachu said in a dazed state.
"Alright, come on, we need to, ow!" Trap Ash exclaimed, trying to stand up. "Okay that hurts, guess my reflexes weren't on point this time. Torterra, Infernape, I need your help!"
The two Pokemon came out ready to battle, only to be confused that there was none.
"I can't walk. Infernape can you help me onto Torterra?" Trap Ash asked.
Infernape quickly helped him trainer onto the grass type's back, where he and Pikachu joined shortly after.
"Okay, let's just head uphill." Trap Ash said, pointing towards a path.
Torterra began the slow and steady climb uphill as the others watched for any incoming threats.
"Wait, up ahead, there's a fork." Trap Ash said, looking at two nearly identical paths. "Infernape stand in front of both of them."
Infernape leapt in front of the first path, the flame on his head not moving more than usual.
"Alright, let's try the other path." Trap Ash said.
Infernape walked over to the other path, his flames still unmoving.
"Well that's not what I was hoping for." Trap Ash admitted, looking at his phone and compass. "Let's head down the left path, it's still leading north, and hopefully that's the way out. Pikachu use Iron Tail to mark this point just in case."
Pikachu leapt off of Torterra, striking the path they'd come from with an Iron Tail to mark the way they came from.
Once Infernape and Pikachu were back on his back, Torterra continued down the left path, following his trainers orders. A bit later they came to a dead end.
"Ahh, great, well at least it wasn't a long or winding path." Trap Ash groaned. "Let's take the other road, we'll make progress slowly but surely."
Back at the fork
"Alright, we just need to make sure not to take the path we marked and that should get us closer to getting out." Trap Ash said, as they turned a corner to the forked area, only to find a strange sight staring back at them. "Okay, so are you this worlds me?" Trap Ash asked, seeing a version of himself, Pikachu and Infernape, riding on a version of Torterra. "How is this even possible?"
A shadowy ball launched from the mirror figure, at the group, with Ash throwing up an aura barrier to quickly stop it as Pikachu and Infernape leapt off of Torterra for battle.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack! Infernape use Flare Blitz!"
Pikachu leapt at the figure fazing right through it as Infernape slammed into it, disrupting their form.
"It looks like a Zoroark, except white and longer hair?" Trap Ash said in confusion. "Infernape use Mach Punch!"
Infernape leapt at the Zoroark as it changed to mimic Infernape's appearance, slashing his claws at the fist as Infernape fazed right through the Pokemon just like Pikachu had.
"Alright, definitely a ghost type, but we can handle that. Greninja let's go, use Night Slash!" Trap Ash called out.
Greninja rushed out of his Pokeball, taking on his Battle Bond form, with the Zoroark taking on a similar appearance as Greninja slashed at them, knocking them backwards.
"Infernape use Flamethrower!"
Infernape sent out a stream of flames as the Zoroark disguised as Greninja did the same, the two streams colliding with one another.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Greninja use Water Shuriken! Infernape use Flamethrower!"
The three Pokemon launched a triple attack at the Zoroark, causing it's form to finally shift back to normal as it slinked off in defeat.
"Definitely a weirder encounter by our standards." Trap Ash said.
"Ashlyn!" Seer Ash cheered, seeing their counterpart nearby.
"Cassidy!" Trap Ash exclaimed.
"It's great to see you didn't fall too far, but are you okay?" Adaman asked.
"I hurt my ankle when I landed, but fine otherwise." Trap Ash said.
"Come on, we're not far from the Diamond Clan camp, we can get you looked at there." Adaman said reassuringly. "Were you fighting something before we got here?"
"Yeah, it looked like a Zoroark, but none that I've ever encountered." Trap Ash said.
"Ahh, you met him, yes that Zoroark like to play mimicking games with others in the caves, sorry for any trouble he might have caused." Adaman said.
"It's fine, I was able to handle it just fine." Trap Ash said. "Let's just get to your camp."
