Everyone on deck was still rather shocked to be face-to-face with a mermaid.

"Are you all right?" she asked, shaking Snotlout. "You're not hurt you?"

"I'm great," said Snotlout in a daze.

The mermaid then turned to face them, seeing them for the first time and immediately panicked.

"Oh my gosh, there's a bunch of humans!" she screamed.

"Uh, yeah," said Hiccup.

"Okay, let's all stop screaming," said Chopper.

"I'm sorry, I was just startled," she said. "Anyway, thanks for saving my life; it feels like I'm always getting swallowed up by Sea Kings. This was probably the 20th time."

"You really need to stop that," said Tuffnut.

"Yeah, even where not crazy enough to tangle with Sea Kings," said Ruffnut.

"There has to be some way to pay you guys back," she said and smiled. "Octopus fritters!"

"There's really no need," said Hiccup.

"It's no trouble at all that 500 gil each," she said. "How many should I put you down for?"

Everyone just stared at her.

The starfish then slapped him across the head. "You're not selling them!"

"I'm not, am I!" she cried.

"I can't believe I finally got to meet a real mermaid," said Snotlout as he danced around excitedly. "Celebrated by sailors worldwide! The mermaid is the jewel of the sea, and she's adorable, just like I imagine!"

"I hate to burst your bubble, but she's not the first mermaid we encountered," Fishlegs reminded him. "Coco was, in fact, the first mermaid we never met."

Snotlout then became horrified and fell to his knees. "Gigantic monsters, zombies… they were nothing. That is not fear. My heart already felt the true meaning of terror when I saw her."

"Hey, I know just how you feel," said Tuffnut. "Let's just forget that ever happened, Snotlout. She is the first mermaid we met."

Astrid glared. "Can you be any more rude?"

Hiccup looked at everyone, confused. "Hang on, you're saying that Granny Coco was a mermaid? But she was able to walk on land."

"That's right, you never found out, did you?" said Eret. "You were busy fighting Lael when she saved us from drowning."

Eret then quickly explained to Hiccup what had happened when Coco saved them.

"Guess it must have been a shock to discover Coco was a mermaid," said Hiccup.

"To put it mildly, but hey, we're all going to grow old someday," Ragnar shrugged.

Astrid folded her arms, glaring and all the men. "Geez, I've had enough of you men and your gross mermaid fantasies."

"But still, she is pretty cute, isn't she?" said Heather.

"Well, this is my first time encountering a mermaid," said Skull and then leaned down towards the moment. "May I have the pleasure of knowing your name, miss?"

"Oh, my name is Camie," she smiled, but then suddenly realised that he was talking to a skeleton and screamed. "A skeleton!"

Ragnar quickly pulled Skull back. "We don't want to frighten her."

"Wow, talking skeleton, that's cool," said Camie.

"And now she's fine," said Fishlegs.

"Hey, Camie! Hey, Camie!" said the starfish feeling a little left out. "Aren't you forgetting someone? Like a friend, you might have neglected to include in your little chat. Someone like me?"

"So what's with the talking starfish, Camie?" Hiccup asked.

"Oh, that guy is my pet," she explained. "His name is Pappagu; he's a starfish and also my teacher."

"Teacher?"

"Yep, that's him."

"This guy?" Hiccup frowned.

"Yep," Camie nodded.

"What's up," Pappagu smiled.

"Is it normal for starfish to talk?" Astrid asked, looking at Fishlegs.

"As normal as it is for your pet to be a teacher," said Fishlegs.

"We're not exactly wants to judge," said Ragnar. "I mean, our shipwright is a cyborg, our doctor is a reindeer, and a musician is a skeleton."

"Good point," said Astrid.

"For the record, I let her take me in," said Pappagu as he pulled a ukulele out of nowhere. "We have our reasons."

He then began strumming the ukulele and sung.

Camie, she brings me clams

What can I say? I am what I am

"That your pet food?" Astrid assumed.

Pappagu ignored her and continued strumming the ukulele as he sang.

A starfish as a star

And when people know who you are

It is so rough

Will I stick around?

Well, I'm no sucker, but my suckers are sticky enough.

Does anyone need a hand? Don't sweat; I've got plenty

But as for fingers, it turns out that I haven't got any.

No fingers!

He strummed his ukulele one last time before finally stopping.

"Yeah, thanks, everybody!" he yelled, but no one was really paying attention. "Come on, this is the part where you guys are supposed to laugh."

m"My T-shirt is made by Criminal. They're a really popular fashion label on Fishman Island," said Camie.

"Oooh," said Skull.

"That's pretty cool," said Chopper.

"And Pappagu is that the designer," she said. "I want to be one to someday, so he's teaching me."

"And I bet you'll be the best one among them," said Snotlout.

"Aw, thanks. That's sweet of you," Camie beamed.

"You should try to be a model too; you could even try to do a fashion show here," Snotlout suggested.

"Oh no, I couldn't do that."

Hiccup then looked at Pappagu, who just laid on the deck looking immensely depressed.

"So, uh, Pappagu, was it? How can you talk?" Hiccup asked.

Pappagu immediately jumped onto his feet excitedly. "I'm so glad you asked!"

"He got over that one quick," Ragnar noted.

"You see, back when I was a kid, I was a little confused," he explained. "I thought I was a human. By the time I figured out that I was a starfish, I already knew how to talk."

"He can't be serious," said Ragnar.

"No, I think he is," said Hiccup.

"The brain is a powerful thing, my friends; they say that you can do anything mind to," said Pappagu Anyway, whatever, I am Pappagu, the starfish, an up-and-coming fashion designer. Thanks for saving me. Seriously, you guys are the best."

"You're lucky we met you; the truth is we're a bit lost," said Fishlegs.

"Yeah, we've got a lot to ask, and I figured that we discuss it over a meal," Hiccup suggested.

"Right, I forgot," said Camie. "I won't charge you either. Hold on, let me talk to Octron, and we can work out a meeting spot."

She then pulled out a transponder snail.

"Octron?" Hiccup frowned.

They heard the transponder snail written for a few seconds before someone answered it.

"Hey, it's Camie," she said. "Are you doing okay, Octron? I'm sorry that I got kinda lost. So, where are you right now?"

For a few moments, there was no reply.

"Oh, so it's Camie, is it?" said a voice on the other side.

"Octron?" Camie frowned.

"You don't know who you're talking to; this ain't your buddy Octron," said the voice.

"What?! You're not Octron?" she cried loudly.

"Of course not! This and this is Macro from the Big Dum Macro Gang. Wait, I shouldn't say that about myself."

"This sounds like trouble," said Heather.

"What are you doing with Octron's transponder snail?" Camie demanded.

"We beat him up and stole it from him; what do you think?" said Macro.

"Yeah, right! Don't lie to me. There's no way Octron would lose to you!"

"Normally, you would be right; we aren't really a match for him. But this time, we teamed up with the Flying Fish Riders, and he didn't stand a chance."

"The Flying Fish Riders? Dammit!" Pappagu gasped.

"Camie, you're all right," said a new voice, one that sounded rather familiar. "That's a relief."

"Octron, don't tell me they really beat you," said Camie.

"I let my guard down," said Octron. "Anyway, no matter what they tell you, don't come to save me. I'll beat these guys somehow and get out on my own. I'll meet up with you later, so don't worry."

"Octron," said Camie, something concerned.

"You know, Camie," said Macro's voice. "We were planning on selling your friend here. Octopus Fishman fetches a high price. If you want to save him, you had better hurry. Oh, for the record, we're at the Sabaody Archipelago, five kilometres east of Grove 44, and I failed to mention that it's the Flying Fish Riders' hideout because it is."

"I'm telling you, Camie, don't come here!" Octron pleaded.

"Shut up, sucker face. No one cares!" Macro yelled.

Then they heard the sound of someone being punched or kicked.

"See you there," said Macro.

The transponder snail then went silent.

"Octron," said Camie looking upset.

"Uh, hey…" said Fishlegs softly.

"Camie," said said Ragnar.

"Hang on, her friend on the transponder snail sounds awfully familiar to me," said Astrid.

"And they did say that he was an octopus, Fishman," Fishlegs added, looking at Astrid. "You don't think…"

"I don't know," she said honestly.

"Sorry guys, but can I give you your octopus fritters another time?" Camie asked. "It's just that I have to save my friend before it's too late."

"That's perfectly fine," said Hiccup.

"So Camie, I know this might come across as meddlesome, but if you're going to rescue your friend, you don't have to do it alone," said Astrid.

"Yeah, you can leave the wrestling to us," Hiccup nodded. "And in return, you can show us the way to Fishman Island. Which would work well for you because you are probably heading back there anyway."

"Are you sure?" Camie asked, beaming.

"Of course," said Hiccup and looked at the others. "Right, gang?"

"You bet!" they said.

"You be double the bad guys for me, Hiccup? Really?" Camie stared. "And you'll save Octron?"

"Sure, but who exactly is this Octron guy?" Hiccup asked.

"He runs the octopus fritters where I work," Camie explained. "He makes the best snacks in the world, promise."

"Then how can we not rescue him?" Hiccup smiled.

"Yeah!" everyone cheered.

Astrid smiled as she sat next to Camie. "Now that they're motivated, you think you can show us the way?"

"Let me see," she said as she pulled out a map.

"Grove 44 is a tiny island here on the east edge of the Archipelago," Pappagu explained, pointing on the map. "They said five kilometres east from there, so I'm guessing the Flying Fish Riders' base is in this area. As for us, we're about here right now, so if we head due west towards Sabaody, we'll hit it on the way. Bam, simple as can be!"

He then looked up at Camie. "We can ask some fish for directions before we set off."

"Right, sounds good," she said and got up. "Let's do this."

She then began jumping her way towards the side of the ship, and everyone just looked at her, confused.

"Hey!" she screamed.

Then to their amazement, popping their heads out of the water were a number of fish, an entire school of them.

"All of the fish are coming up," said Hiccup.

"We need directions from you!" Camie cried out.

Hiccup then noticed it looked as if she was communing with the fish.

"They're scared of the Flying Fish Riders, so they won't get too close, but they will show us the way," said Camie.

"Wow, I didn't know you could talk to fish," Astrid stared. "Maybe the men are right. Mermaids are really something."

"I still don't understand how we're supposed to follow fish," Fishlegs frowned.

Pappagu chuckled. "Check it out for yourself."

They watched as the fish began swimming in sync, and they were putting so much splash that they were making an arrow for them.

"Huh, I guess fish are a lot smarter than I gave them credit for," said Snotlout.

"I wish I was as smart as those fish," said Tuffnut.

"I wish you were as smart as those fish as well," Ruffnut agreed.

"We certainly shouldn't have any problem following that," said Fishlegs.

"That is pretty cool," said Hiccup smiling at Camie.

"Oh, stop," she said, blushing. "Any mermaid could do the same thing."

"Don't be so modest; we certainly don't know any better," said Hiccup patting her on the back.

"Okay, I'm going to take the helm!" Snotlout yelled as he made his way to the wheel.

"4 o'clock, Snotlout," Heather informed him.

"Got it," said Snotlout and turned the wheel.

The ship began to turn in and began following the fish's directions.

The Flying Fish Riders' base was a heavily fortified outpost floating in the middle of the sea. Macro was talking to the leader of the Flying Fish Riders, who was a tall man wearing a mask.

"There you have a Master Duval; everything is going according to plan," said Macro. "They fell right into our trap. The mermaid is on her way here even as we speak."

"Good," said Duval and then turned to his men. "Hey, men!"

"Yeah, boss?"

"Go greet our new friends."

"Yes, sir."

Then a few of his men walked away.

"Uh, one little thing," said Macro before they left. "She's worth a lot of money, so try not to rough her up too much if you don't mind."

The men didn't say a word and kept on walking.

"Man, this is going to work out great," said Macro and then turned his prisoner. "They did break it to you, Octron old pal, but you and Camie are done for this time. It's all right; you can cry."

His captive did just that making him laugh.

"I was just kidding you, big baby; I didn't think you would really do it."

Then suddenly, shooting out of the sea, a bunch of men were riding on some giant flying fish, and they quickly took to the sky.

Meanwhile, the Dragon Riders were still following the fish when Toothless jumped down from the crows' nest.

"Ah, Toothless," said Hiccup.

"I noticed the Night Fury setting off. Did we finally find a way to Fishman Island?" he asked.

"In a way," said Hiccup and then gestured to Camie. "But first, let me introduce you to Camie. As you probably noticed, she's a mermaid."

"Nice to meet you," said Camie.

"She certainly a lot different compared to Coco," said Toothless.

"We made a deal with her, we rescue her friend, and then she'll show us how to get to Fishman Island," Hiccup explained.

"I am kinda worried," she admitted. "Octron didn't sound like himself at all when we talked. I'm afraid they've done something awful to him."

"Ah, he's tough enough to cope; I wouldn't worry about it," said Pappagu, then looked at the others. "You guys, on the other hand, were also quick to offer your help, but are you positive you're not in over your heads on this."

"Oh, we're quite a tough bunch," Hiccup assured him.

"All right, but fair warning, these guys are the only kidnappers in the area. There's a whole bunch of crews like them. The Sabaody Archipelago is a hotspot for kidnapping; human trafficking is big business around here."

"You mean like slave trading or something," said Ragnar looking disgusted. "Pretty sick stuff."

"And seeing as how mermaids fetch a high price on the market, a trio of Fishmen who call themselves the Macro Gang have been targeting Camie for a long time." Pappagu then looked at Camie. "We were stuck in the sea monster's belly for a while. Octron probably got worried about it and figured that the Macro Gang kidnapped you or something. Then he went after them to rescue you and got kidnapped himself."

"Yeah, that must be it," said Camie looking upset. "Octron is so kind, and he's always looking after me. This is all my fault."

"The guy's name is Octron?" said Toothless as he drank some water. "Reminds me of that dumb octopus from way back."

Ragnar nodded. "If it is him, then there's no way of helping him. But what are the odds, right?"

"Usually, Octron can take those guys or anybody else for that matter, but with the Flying Fish Riders involved, it's a whole different story," said Pappagu.

"Okay, but who are these guys?" Eret asked.

"They are another one of those kidnapping crews I've mentioned. They've really been running the place lately. Word is once they target you, your good as done for. Their boss Duval is this scary guy with an iron mask; nobody knows what his face looks like. Anyway, it seems like they're looking for someone. They stop every ship that comes by hearing and checking out the cruise member by member."

"Man, they sound like a real pain," said Eret.

"After all the stuff we've been through, we should be able to handle them," said Hiccup. "Don't worry, Camie, we'll save your friend."

"I-I'm sure you're right, Hiccup," said Camie cheering up.

"Skull, why don't you play a song to lighten the mood?" Hiccup suggested.

"With pleasure, Captain," said Skull as he pulled out his violin.

He then began to strum his melody, which did soothe everyone. The twins danced with Eret, Pappagu and Chopper doubt with each other, and Astrid and Camie clapped to the rhythm.

Then suddenly, the fish scattered as if they were afraid of something.

"Wait, what?" Snotlout frowned and looked back at the others. "Hey, guys! We're in trouble!"

Camie then heard the fish communicating with explaining what was happening.

"Did something happen? What's the matter?" Astrid asked.

"The fish said they're sorry, but they can't take as any further," she said. "They're scared."

"Wait, someone is here?" said Hiccup.

"Argh, look!" Pappagu pointed. "It's the Flying Fish Riders!"

Hiccup immediately flew over towards the figurehead and looked around but couldn't see a thing.

"Where? I can't see anything," he said.

Camie then stood up and began hopping to the front of the ship.

"Camie, wait! Where are you going?" Astrid yelled. "You have to hide!"

Camie didn't appear to be listening as she made her way over to Hiccup.

"They're in the sky, not in the sea! Look up!" she said, pointing up.

Hiccup did so immediately and saw three frying fish heading straight down towards them, dropping some bombs. They were able to avoid getting hit by the bombs, then saw the Riders shoot right past them and begin circling around their ship.

"Wow, they really can fly," said Ruffnut astonished.

"That's awesome!" Tuffnut beamed.

"They're the enemy, remember!" Toothless reminded them.

"Damnit, they're attacking us head-on," said Eret.

"They have seats and handlebars and everything!" Chopper cried.

The Flying Fish Riders continued to fly around the ship and noticed their flag.

"Hey, it's them!"

"Yeah, you're right. Those the Dragon Rider Pirates down there, no doubt about it."

"Let's contact the boss."

"You got it."

"I thought we would only make out with a mermaid; this is our lucky day."

"Master Duval is going to be thrilled when he hears this."

"There they come again!" Ragnar yelled as the Flying Fish Riders made for another pass.

Snotlout desperately turned the wheel in order to avoid them, but the Flying Fish Riders were now diving straight down towards them and dropped bombs on top of them again.

"They're dropping bombs," said Toothless as he drew his swords.

"Then let's take them down," said Hiccup transforming into his hybrid form. "Plasma Blast!"

"32 Calibre Phoenix!" Toothless yelled.

"Valkyrie Storm!" Astrid yelled, swinging her axe.

The attack struck the bombs, destroying them instantly.

"There was a close one," said Fishlegs relieved.

"They're not finished!" Camie warned. "Once they're out of the water, flying fish can stay in the air for up to 5 minutes."

The Flying Fish Riders managed to contact Duval and explained the situation.

"Yeah, that's right, Master Duval; there's no doubt in my mind that it's them." Duval then gave them some new commands. "Huh, wait. Sorry sir, but I miss that last part."

Duval repeatedly themselves, and the Rider began informing the others. "Turnaround! He told us to go back to base!"

"But that's ridiculous!"

"Boss's orders. Who knows."

"Uh, fine, but I don't get it!"

They then pulled off from their attacks and headed straight back towards their base, much to the confusion of the Dragon Riders.

"They left?" said Hiccup.

At the Flying Fish Riders base, Duval looked at Macro.

"Macro…" he said.

"What is it, Master Duval?" Macro asked.

"That mermaid you were luring here is a pirate ship right now. Were you aware of that?"

"Huh, Camie? No!"

Duval then crushed the glass in his hand. "The very pirate ship I have been searching for all this time. All of my suffering, all my waiting will finally come to an end."

He then grabbed a rifle which was loaded with our number of harpoons. "I'll have my revenge. I will kill that bastard that ruined my life."
