Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Noble Guardians. Enjoy the 2600-word chapter. I don't own Halo, Microsoft, 343 and a few others do.

It wasn't the roars and visuals that told them, it wasn't the fact that their enemy had a distinct appearance… It was the plasma fire and battle cries that chilled Noble's blood as they rounded the corner to find a group of grunts with a blue armored elite leading them in attacking the Spartans.

Jorge was the first one to react, firing his M427 at the elite as bullets carved through its shield and dropped it into the dirt as Noble spread out, diving behind haybales as another lance of grunts and jackals stormed up the hill.

Carter didn't even have to give an order, both Six, Emile, Gadge, and Jorge all opened fire at once, bullets flying and ripping into the grunts, sending at least 3 to the ground. There was more plasma fire in return as the lance unleashed their weapons at the group.

"This ain't happening." Gadge heard as he turned and shredded a jackal that tried to flank him. "Damn it," Jorge muttered in a subdued tone as he shredded a pair of jackals.

"They got more coming; Carter stated as he looked up to realize a spirit was coming to drop off reinforcements. Carter wasn't the only one to notice, however.

The two falcons roared overhead as a group of banshees also joined the battle. The UNSC had thoroughly been engaged by the Covenant forces which just told them that they were in for a rough ride.

"Shame, I didn't bring enough ammo," Emile said before he shotgunned a jackal before turning and stabbing a grunt. "Hey, Noble 9? How's the first real gunfight?" Emile asked as Gadge rolled his eyes and slammed his shotgun into a grunt's face.

"Better than yours." Gadge joked before he turned and blasted another pair of grunts. "Their moving downhill. Idiots…. Sir, looks like their reinforcements are deploying over the river." Gadge stated to which Carter nodded.

One of the banshees collapsed, spinning and belching thick black smoke from its chassis as it did so. It smashed into the ground, exploding as the falcon with Jun upon it turned and started to hose the covenant with 20mm.

"Covenant," Jorge started with a twinge of rage inside of said tone. "Damn Covenant," Jorge stated as the Spartans moved downstream, watching one of the elites die and fall into the water from a burst of gunfire.

"On Reach," Gadge said before he shook his head. "Sir? We might want to tell Colonel Holland." Gadge stated as the Noble leader nodded.

Their commanding officer had to know. There was going to be more Covenant if such a small force had landed on Reach. Covenant never did anything in half measures which meant that more reinforcements would come behind them. They'd be crushed sooner or later, there was no doubt about that for now and it was bothering them to no end.

Gadge racked his shotgun, ejecting a shell onto the ground as he hummed, unsure of what the next move was after they killed these troops and informed the colonel. There was more to which this couldn't stand at all.

Still? He didn't know what to have to focus on before he was done. He was able to question what to happen before it came to it. He was tiling his head; he was a lot for now. He questioned what to do next for the time being.

Noble was focusing on the soldiers as this came down to it. they had to focus more on what was important, warning commands just as they were expected to. They had a duty to the UNSC and nothing could come before that.

The Spartan slid down the hill, looking over where the dropship had landed and where more Covenant soldiers were emerging from around the wreckage in front of them. This had been something of a nightmare and it hadn't ended yet, they still had a duty to do and something in the way wasn't going to stop them.

Jorge looked at Carter and the others as they all milled around, they all knew what else was going to have to focus on before he questioned before this was a lot more to question for now.

Jorge was going to handle this and he wasn't going to be able to focus, he wasn't ensuring what to do next before it was over for now. Jorge was a lot more to have focused on for now. He was to tilt his head… And then followed it up with far more gunfire than he expected. This was a nightmare and he planned on ripping through the Covenant for the time being. He didn't know what he was doing, but he did know the covenant scum was going to die and die painfully. They had come back to his home, but they'd not be able to leave it so easily.

This wasn't going to have to be able to do such a thing, but he was going to have been damned if he didn't get to relax. This nightmare. There was a lot more to question with it happening. There was a lot more upon which to have been done. This could have been something major, it could not. Either way? He'd be throwing as much firepower at the Covenant as of this moment. There was a lot more to have to question, a lot more was coming when all of it was said and done. The only time this would end.

This was such a pain in the ass that none of them wanted to have dealt with. Yes, this was such a pain in the ass and the throat. The Spartans slid down the tunnel as they looked around, too unsure of what to do next and how else this could have gone.

They all unleashed a hail of gunfire, bullets, and tracers flying across the area as plasma melted everything around them. The Spartans met the charge of Covenant with anger, fury… Hunting them, making them wish they had never stepped.

Still? Such a monstrous thing, such a horrid thing like the Covenant? It paled compared to the fury of the Spartans, the anger building within them.

No, the Spartans weren't going to let even a single one of the alien monsters survive. The more and more he was going to do.

Gadge pivoted and put a hole fresh through an elite before he collapsed into the water. Six and Emile charged forwards, the first elite tried to smack them with his plasma rifle only for Emile to turn and put a hole straight through it as Six engaged another, stabbing it through the chest and snapping its neck while Carter and Jorge advanced past these 2 and attacked the rest of the unit.

Jorge ripped open a pair of jackals with gunfire, ripping through them as if they were nothing more than pieces of trash.

No, to them? They had trash to cut down, they were no better than trash. In Jorge's mind? They had the damn gall to have come to this place. He felt as if such a thing would burn as if they'd all be burnt down with his hate… As if he could put it into a bullet and cut the covenant with it.

Then again? He was tired, unsure of what else would come next. They hadn't even been here for 10 damn minutes and he didn't even want to focus more on such little things.

No, he had more on this problem, more on what else didn't come. If anything? He was more than willing to put down every single one of them if he had to… He just didn't know when this was over with.

No, Jorge wanted to hurt them, to cut them all down like a sickle through wheat. He'd make them pay for coming here.

Jorge opened fire, chewing through the rest as the last few remaining covenant troops, a pair of jackals, and a crimson armored elite. Gadge felt plasma fire nip his shields as he dove into cover.

"Noble, we need…" Carter started to say before a round entered the head of the elite and sent it crashing to the ground as the falcon's chain gun chewed the jackals into a paste.

The Spartans regrouped, Gadge's shields slowly charging back up. He was a lot more to question as of the time being… Such a horrible thing to happen.

Jorge felt the rage melt away as it was replaced with a simmer of hate and disbelief. He had been stricken on this, every nerve itching for battle, every part of his body called for the death and surgical dismemberment of their enemy… One which had come down to it.

"Sir, orders?" Gadge questioned as he pushed one of the elites next before turning back to Carter. "Sir? If there are a few here? Then there's more. They have to have a warship supplying troops, covenant dropships don't have Slipspace drives as of covenant studies." Gadge stated to which Jorge turned.

There was an aura of hate for the Spartan being. He was too unsure what to say or do. They had come here, come to Reach… HIS HOME.

"Agreed, we should move." Carter put in as Gadge turned to Jorge.

"They're going to die," Gadge said before he racked the slide of his weapon. "Sir? I suppose the Covenant may have sent teams to the relay, might be worth it?" Gadge questioned as Carter nodded.

"Agreed, Noble 2? This is Noble 1; we have confirmed Covenant forces in the area. The relay may be a priority target." Carter said as he put a hand to his radio. "Noble 2, It's Carter, the Covenant are here, they're invading, we need the relay online," Carter ordered as he frowned, unsure of what to do next.

He didn't at all know what was coming, they had a lot more to focus upon. They had a relay to secure and they had hostiles to deal with. Anything else was secondary. It was such a hard thing to have done. It was honestly such a hard thing to have focused upon. If anything? Well, their standing orders demanded that they cut down all of the Covenant soldiers.

Still? The fact that they were here bothered him. it bothered all of Noble Team that their hated enemy on Reach, one which they had sworn had been killed off for a longer time than they wished that they had more time, that something had been done and they were able to all react. All this did was push them more and more and more towards what little he had to do next. Such a problem couldn't easily be solved.

Yet? They had all the more reason to fight and get around. They just needed something to do before it got to that part… Yes, if anything? This story wouldn't be over, not without them cutting down the rest of the orchid in a vain attempt to kill before now. It was a lot more to question, a lot more to have done something. they had a lot more to question before now.

The lot more of the short and narrow as of now. the short and skinny of such things were going to be focused on more and more. Such a thing was enough to drive her crazy or at focus before now.

He was too unsure before now. This was simply another game for her. Such a thing that hadn't yet focused for now.

"What else is going on for now?" Gadge heard as his radio sparkled to life.

"Sir, we've seen a few dropships, people are busy… Commander is busy dealing with now." Rose stated before a few bullets were heard over said radio.

Carter turned to the others as both Spartans glanced around. However, this is ended for now? They needed the relay intact and online.

This was something else before now. They had something else to question before now. He was too focused before he questioned what else was for.

This was something else before now. He didn't know what else was to question before he questioned what else was going to have been done next.

Carter motioned the others forwards. He wasn't sure of what the nightmare hadn't yet to do this next. He was a lot more to focus on as of now.

The Spartans questioned what was happening as he looked around, making sure that this was to do next before now. He was a lot more to handle the problem. He was too focused more upon what to do next.

Carter watched as the others slowly started to move, rushing forwards with the rest of their training washing over their bodies. He hadn't yet been ready for such a thing; he hadn't been on this. He was too unsure of what had been what to do next.

This was such a nice thing; it had been something that this had something else to do next. Noble shared looks before he tilted his head. They raced forwards, their armored bodies moving as they were in motion. They wanted blood, they wanted to get their job done.

"Sir I'm sure that they're alright… Didn't we still have some army troops to track down?" Gadge questioned what they were for now.

Such a thing was for now a problem. This wasn't going to end the way they wanted it to have done. He wasn't sure what to do next. He wasn't sure of what to do next.

Noble slowly climbed the hill as a pair of spirits flew through the air. The Spartans all spotted the craft as the falcons slowly started to depart, unsure if there would be Covenant reinforcements for now.

"Well, now I hate being damn right," Gadge stated before he sighed and shook his head. "Sir? We need to get going." Gadge stated as Carter nodded before issuing orders.

"Six, Emile? Get going with Gadge and get them home." Carter before he put his hand to his helmet. "Kat? We're coming to you, hold them off… Six, Nine, Five? Rescue those soldiers, get them out. I don't like this; we need to tell Colonel Holland." Carter stated before he sighed.

Carter watched the other 3 Spartans nod before Six led the two others into the distance. He turned to Jorge who had looked over his shoulder, he was curious. He wasn't sure of what to tell the man before he spoke.

"There will be more. We know what's going to happen to Reach if they're here." Carter said as Jorge glowered. "I know you're ready to kill them, Jorge. We can't let them get the best of us." Carter said as Jorge turned to look back around.

"Reach is my home, sir. I'm not going to let it fall that easy." Jorge said before one of the falcons swung around. "And second? We both know what Holland is going to tell us if we tell him." Jorge said before he walked towards the falcon, leaving Carter to pause as he shook his head.
