The Nacrene City Pokemon Center was generally fairly quiet in its human medicine, but today was not a normal day. The nurse of this location, Georgina, and her Audino were rushing around, attempting to find some things to use to check on the three patients they had found shortly before. Georgina had suspected the worst, giving that humanoid Pokemon such as this generally signalled the work of Team Plasma, a radical organization seeking to divide the human and Pokemon worlds, who would sometimes sacrifice themselves in order to give a Pokemon a humanoid body, of which could no longer be captured with Pokeball technology, essentially freeing the creature from what they considered to be its captors. As this would result in the decrease of a Team Plasma member in most cases, it was generally something an individual did as last resort, when backed into a corner and unable to escape. However, some of these freed Pokemon showed sympathies to their freers, especially when in situations in which the Pokemon was treated poorly. While they are welcomed into the organization, as the bodies cannot do the procedure again, they are generally regarded as much less useful. The sword and light armor of the human suggested that they had defeated the two Plasma members in human on human combat, possibly in an attempt to take back their Pokemon, an Umbreon and a Dragonite. They would have to ask. Since the local Professor was heading up anyways, they elected to meet them in Striaton City, as Professor Juniper had limited experience with newly humanoid Pokemon. Just then, one of the two humanoid pokemon, the Umbreon, stirred, starting to wake up.

"Hello? Can you speak? Do you understand me?" Georgina asked, concerned for the unknown individual, who groaned, unsure of what was going on. Georgina gave them a few moments to compose themselves, the Audino examining the Umbreon, using a little stool to gain the height they needed to see the individual.

"I hope they're okay..." The Audino said, not liking it when folks didn't make it. It was always real sad, and it made Georgina mess up more often with other things.

"Huh?" They replied, reacting to the Audino's language, but in a human voice. "Susie? Is that you?" Their eyes weren't fully open yet, and couldn't see the source of the voice, that being the Audino.

"You're okay..." Georgina replied. "Don't worry... That human person there, is that Susie?"

"Human?" The Umbreon replied. "The human is Kris though... Are they here?"

"I believe so..." Georgina said back to the Umbreon, describing the light armor, blue underclothes, and large sword.

"That's them!" The Umbreon replied happily. "Wait... What happened to us?"

"I wouldn't know sadly." Georgina replied. "Take it easy, you've likely got a new body..."

"New body?" The Umbreon replied, shocking Georgina at how comfortable it was at human shape, slowly sitting up. "What do you mean?"

"You mean..." Georgina said, fairly surprised. "You've been like that?"

The Umbreon took a look at their paws, jolting. "Not like this! What am I!?"

"Oh..." Georgina replied, having no possible explanation for a humanoid creature knowing the body well, yet reacting like they had just transformed. The Audino jumped, falling off its little stool, though the impact did little to damage the tanky creature.

"I'm all... Catty?" The Umbreon said. "Can I have a mirror?"

"Oh I can get that!" The Audino replied, rushing off to grab one, as that was on a lower shelf nearby.

"Anyways..." Georgina said, noting the Audino make a noise and run off, probably answering that request. "What's your name?"

"Ralsei." The Umbreon replied. "Who are you?"

"I'm Nurse Georgina, and that's my Audino heading off there." Georgina replied. "I found you three outside of town, all out cold, I thought Team Plasma must've gotten to you."

"Who are they?" Ralsei asked, having never heard the name before.

"Wait, you haven't heard of them?" Georgina replied. "You must have travelled a long way..."

"Nope, doesn't ring a bell..." Ralsei said in response. "Are they bad or something?"

"Bad would be selling it short, they try and steal peoples Pokemon, and sometimes even sacrifice their own selves for some semblance of freedom, I don't get it..."

Before Ralsei could finish, Kris, the human, also woke up, groaning, seemingly more beat up than the other two.

"I should probably explain it to all three of you if they won't know either, do you think they would Ralsei?" Georgina asked. Ralsei shook his head no, as the trio had travelled from their world together.

Kris seemed similarly panicked about their compatriots, though with Ralsei awake, Georgina knew more about the situation regarding their identities at the very least.

"Don't worry..." Georgina said to Kris. "It's okay, you're safe here, it's a medical center, found you all roughed up, don't know what got you if it wasn't Team Plasma though..." Kris expressed similar confusion at the organization, as the Audino had returned with the mirror, just as Kris noticed Ralsei's differing appearance. Giving that Kris was, at least to the knowledge of the two friends, mute, Ralsei explained this to the nurse.

"Noted." Georgina replied. "Audino's back with that mirror you wanted."

"Thanks." Ralsei replied, grabbing it, taking a good look at their new appearance. The black fur and glowing yellow rings, along with the large floppy ears, seemed to be intriguing to Ralsei. "So what am I exactly? Also what about Pokemon? Is that like what the species is called?"

"An Umbreon." Georgina replied. "What far-flung island has no Pokemon? Odd... Well that's another thing to save for later..."

"What could you tell me about Umbreon then?" Ralsei asked. "Giving that I'm one of them.

While Georgina explained the intricacies of Ralsei's new species, such as its ability to produce a weak poison, and its nocturnal biological structure, Kris attempted to get up, and stumbled, observing two hurt legs, managing to catch themself on the counter, not falling flat on their face. Georgina rushed over, and Ralsei popped up, also not used to their new digit structure, quickly sitting back down after some wobbling.

"Easy on your feet, both of you." Georgina said kindly, yet sternly. "One of you is injured, and the other has new foot structure most likely to adjust to."

The duo nodded, as the Audino offered Kris a pen and a notepad, giving that they, to their knowledge, could not talk. They began to pen something down, eventually showing it to the Nurse.

"Susie can tend to be a bit aggressive eh?" Georgina read the note, mainly as a forewarning. "I'll keep that in mind, I'm sure it can't be too bad, can it?"

Kris shrugged. They had no idea really what metric Georgina would be able to understand in terms of aggressiveness levels? Was there a scale for that even?

"Anyways, maybe one of you could calm them down when they wake up?" Georgina asked Ralsei and Kris, who both nodded. The Audino seemed worried, giving that they were slightly hurt by the previous yelp, maybe that Susie individual had also changed. After about 15 minutes of waiting, and Ralsei slowly adjusting to their new digitigrade stance, Susie began to wake up, Kris moving themselves towards her, and Ralsei, holding on to the countertop, approaching her as well. Susie groaned, stretching out, not recognizing the area either.

"Yo, uh..." Susie responded. "Where the hell are we?"

"No idea." Ralsei replied. "Plus we look all different too..."

'Ah great, another world, another form, that's just what I needed right now." Susie replied.

"You've..." Georgina asked, shocked. "Done this before?"

"I mean like twice, but yeah." Ralsei replied. "Not me though, only the one time." Kris nodded, verifying that it was accurate. Georgina would understand why they didn't even know the basic things of being around here at the very least now.

"Shall I explain how things work around here then?" Georgina asked. The three seemed in agreement. After the group was left to change back into the clothes they had, the quartet met up at a meeting room the center had upstairs in the back, behind the virtual battle area. The two individuals with tails seemed a bit unsure of what to do with them in terms of furniture, but figured it out well enough as the chairs were comfy enough where having it between their legs wasn't super uncomfortable.

"So where shall I start?" Georgina asked.

"Well what am I?" Susie asked, never getting an answer, though they never asked the question beforehand to get such a response.

"You're a Dragonite, quite powerful, might I add, if your level lines up to proper evolutionary guides, which giving your travel, it may not." Georgina replied.

"So what's that Team Plasma group anyways?" Ralsei asked.

"They're a group that seeks to sever the ties between human and Pokemon. They're considered terrorists by the regional authorities, as often they are violent about stealing them."

"Why do you keep them?" Ralsei asked. "The Pokemon, that is."

"They're our companions, and allow both species to exist at a better level." Georgina replied. "From farming, to battling, to providing transportation."

"Oh hell yeah!" Susie said. "I love a good fight." Ralsei and Kris, especially the former, seemed a bit less apt to the warrior culture Georgina was describing. But that was just the way things were in this world, so neither really would've protested.

"Why'd you think they did it?" Ralsei asked, giving that Nurse Georgina had originally thought they were at fault.

"Contingency." Georgina said. "When backed into a corner, they are equipped with a serum that will allow them to essentially merge with the stolen pokemon, at the expense of their own identity, essentially killing the member. Giving Kris's sword, it seemed as if that they were under threat enough to use it.

"Oh..." Ralsei replied, disheartened. "Well uh, anything we can do to help?"

"I'd recommend you avoid them for the time being," Georgina answered. "But if you really want to I could see about the professor providing you with a Pokemon to start with, but I'm unsure if you'd even need one giving your powers, and Kris's seeming aptitude in combat."

"Wouldn't be a bad thing to have a larger party, would it?" Susie asked. "If they're such a bad organization like you're saying they are." Kris gave a thumbs up in agreement.

"I'm not saying you can't." Georgina said. "Just saying it may not be required."

'Is there anything else we need to know?" Ralsei asked. "Or should we be heading back to that town?"

"Well where the hell is it?" Susie asked. "We can't really be wandering in a world we don't even know!"

"Audino, grab them a map please." Georgina asked of her assistant, who happily walked off to grab them one each.

"So do they like live in the wild or something too or?" Susie asked. "are they just pets?"

"No, some exist in the wild, that's another thing I was going to teach you." Georgina replied. "If you manage to get one nearly defeated, you can capture them in a Pokeball, and they'll join your cause, though you'll have to heal them before they'll be of much use."

"That's..." Susie replied. "Um... Obvious."

"Just thought I'd tell you anyways." Georgina replied. "Just consider yourselves your own starter Pokemon I guess."

Georgina gathered some spare change she had lying around, as Pokemon Centers were kept profitable partially off of sales and partially off of the regional government subsidy, grabbing the rainy day fund she set aside for things like this, so that the group could each buy a couple of Pokeballs, and maybe a few status healing items or Potions as well. Ralsei had thanked the nurse for the caretaking, as the trio walked out. The Audino felt left out, but Georgina reassured her assistant, noting that they may have forgotten giving that they were in a rush to go to the next town over, in order to meet the Professor who was heading there. With three Pokeballs purchased for each of them, and a couple of potions. The store clerks were even nice enough to give them access to a few status effect ridding items, as they may be useful in situations that they may encounter, giving that the two Pokemon may not know their moves quite yet. The three walked out, Kris lagging behind, having been given crutches to help if need be, along with bandaged up legs. The next town over would be properly acquainted with the region, and registered as residents of this world bureaucratically. With Susie picking up Kris to speed things up, and Ralsei carrying the crutches, the trio went on their merry way.
