Kieran, Audrey, and Sprout had just arrived in Accumula Town, walking up the main street of the small town, taking in the sights, before being stopped by Bianca.
"What took you so long!" Bianca said. "We've been waiting for like an hour!"
"Oh, sorry, thought I'd do some Pokemon researching, I mean wasn't there that contest?" Kieran replied, lying to save face of the man he had met in the flower patch.
"Oh what's that?" Bianca said, scanning Audrey. "Oh an Audino, that's something I haven't seen, where'd you find that?"
"I mean I did do some more looking, right?" Kieran replied. Cheren probably would've seen through the lies, but that was due to his high intellect. Bianca was of average brain power, and also wasn't really in a skeptic's mood anyways.
"Fine enough!" Bianca said. "Oh, the Professor wanted us again, she wanted to say one more thing."
"Oh?" Kieran replied. "What is it?"
"Come see!" Bianca said, grabbing Kieran by the hand and dragging him towards Cheren, Lori, and Professor Juniper.
"Oh Kieran!" Lori yelled. "I was honestly getting a bit worried about you..."
"I told you he'd be fine." Cheren said to Lori. "He was probably just working his Pokemon up, getting stronger and that, I mean there's a gym the next town over after all..."
"Fair enough, I mean we are aiming to be Champion, right?" Lori said.
"I mean not really the main goal of my journey, but it'd be a perk." Cheren said.
"So now that all four of you are here..." Professor Juniper said. "Since I'm here also, I thought I'd stop here and show you something."
"Oh?" Lori said. "What is it?"
"Yeah, what is it?" Kieran asked.
"It's the Pokemon Center, head on in." Professor Juniper said, guiding the quartet of teenaged humans inside, Audrey and Sprout following them in.
"This will be an important locale in whatever town you end up in." Professor Juniper said, once all four of the other humans were inside.
"How come?" Bianca inquired.
"Well, for starters," Professor Juniper said. "This is where you can freely heal your Pokemon."
"Useful." Cheren said.
"It is. You also have a shop here, where you can buy basic supplies. As you become more advanced trainers, they will be willing to sell more advanced equipment and items to you."
"That's also useful yeah." Lori replied.
"Finally, there are generally resources about the town, and limited human medical care as well. If you ever lose your map, these will often provide such, or at the very least have one hanging up." Professor Juniper replied back. "Anyways, I should be heading off, I'm needed at the first gym. I'm sure I'll be seeing you there?"
"Of course!" Bianca yelled.
"Don't see why I wouldn't." Cheren added.
Lori smiled. "I mean that's the first step right?"
Kieran nodded, making sure Audrey was still inside. With Professor Juniper walking out, Bianca suggested checking the results of the contest.
"A contest eh?" One of the shopkeepers added. "If you don't have anything to give, I'm sure I could give you something."
"Oh really?" Bianca replied. "Cool! Okay, so how many Pokemon did everyone get?"
Lori showed off her Patrat that Professor Juniper gave her. Kieran also had two Pokemon. Bianca had three, and Cheren only had one.
"Well I guess that means I win!" Bianca said.
"Well here you go then." The shopkeep threw a Premier Ball towards Bianca, who caught it.
"Oh hey, what's this?" Bianca said. "It looks pretty cool!"
"It's a Premier Ball." The shopkeep said. "It doesn't do anything special, but it's more a commemorative thing. Since you've won something, I thought I'd be nice and give the winner a gift."
"Well thanks!" Bianca said with a smile. "I'm sure I'll catch something nice with it!"
"Good luck then." The shopkeeper replied.
"Thanks." Bianca said, taking a closer look at the ball. It looked like a normal Pokeball, but was all white, and the black hinge area was red.
"It's pretty." Lori said, with a grin.
"Say..." The nurse of this city, Memphis, chimed in. "You should probably get your trainer cards, shouldn't you?"
"That sounds like a good idea, yes." Cheren replied. The other three followed Cheren, as some basic information was given about the individuals, name, age, biological sex, if they had any badges already, which they didn't but it was still on the form. Each one had a picture taken of them.
Lori's shoulder-width blonde hair showed up fairly well in the photo, not getting cut off much at all. Like Kieran, Lori was Caucasian, Cheren being of Asian descent, and Bianca being a mix of the two. Lori sported a white outfit, with a top and matching colored pants. The only contrasting thing to the yellow-brown-white color scheme Lori had going was her lime green eyes. They stood out fairly well compared to the rest of her. Her shoes of choice were brown leather boots, unsure of how off-route she may end up be going.
Kieran, on the other hand, had quite dark hair, about chin-length. His jawbone was more defined than Lori's, and was more controlled, Lori having sections sticking out to a degree. Kieran wore a blue-gray jacket, with a white t-shirt underneath, and some sports jeans, which were like denim jeans, but slightly stretchier to allow for better movement. Giving that they'd be going on a long journey, Kieran thought they were worth the investment, even if they skimped slightly on the business casual element of traditional denim. Similar to the pants, Kieran, in this case his mother, had invested in some medium-end running boots, along with several changes of socks for himself to change when needed, or to give to others in case of emergency. Kieran's mom had limited medical training, and things such as gangrene were what scared her off of the practice, so she would often be sure to make sure Kieran was prepared, especially for this.
Cheren seemed a lot more formal in his dress, an actual business casual getup, with a white button-up shirt, red tie, belted standard denim, and brown loafers. His hair was similar to that of Kieran's, but Kieran's hair was more jet-black, and Cheren had darker eyes, though both had eyes in a shade of blue. Cheren also had a tuft of sorts sticking up, though unlike in some Pokemon, this provided him no extrasensory benefit.
Finally was Bianca, whose green eyes were more in the jade category, and hair in a sort of bowl shape, curling up towards the head. She also had the roundest head of the four, Cheren's being the pointiest. While she removed it for the image, Bianca generally wore a green acorn cap-like hat, with a white stripe across the bottom. She was also the least journey-prepared in terms of outfit, shin-length dress and an orange sleeveless jacket, though at the very least the girl wore flat shoes, a nice pair of yellow sneakers.
After a short wait, the quartet had identifications printed, along with a badge case presented for Kieran and Bianca, who did not have them. Bianca was the first to head out, and while Kieran stuck around to heal his two Pokemon, Lori and Cheren followed Bianca outside.
"I presume you want to use my standard services?" Nurse Memphis asked. Kieran nodded.
"Well I'll just take your Pokemon for a few seconds..." Nurse Memphis added, returning Sprout and Audrey, and placing the two Pokeballs on the healing machine. "That Audino must've been a gift, you don't see them that strong this far south."
"Yeah, you could say that." Kieran said. "Anyways, thanks for the heal."
"It's no problem." Nurse Memphis replied. "It's literally my job."
Kieran let out a small nose laugh, before wishing the nurse a nice day.
"You too!" Nurse Memphis said to the seemingly nice teenage boy, as he headed out the door.
