With seven of the eight fated heroes in Striaton City, Professor Juniper, though she did not know that fate destined them to do important things, decided to allow them to be introduced to each other. With the group arriving in the Trainer School, Ralsei, Kris, and Susie got a good look inside. The building was not very large, seemingly similar in size and stature to the one-classroom schools of old. The group encountered many young trainers, Professor Juniper at first having trouble finding the children she had watched over as they grew up, due to living where her primary lab was.

"Where are they?" Professor Juniper asked, rhetorically.

"No damn idea." Susie replied, clearly ignoring that fact.

"Anyways..." Ralsei replied. "Should we go look? They can't be far, can they?"

Just then, Lori noticed across the small crowd of prepubescent normal-aged new trainers, noticing the Professor and three other teenagers, waving her down.

"What are you doing here?" Lori asked. "You stalking us or something?" She said with a giggle.

"No, actually, it's related to the point I came here for in the first place." Professor Juniper said. "There's folks I've met that I think would benefit if they accompanied you on your journey."

"Hm?" Lori said. "What do you mean?"

"Well, it's a long story." Professor Juniper replied, walking over with the other trio.

"You plan to explain?" Lori questioned.

"Would prefer not to honestly, just serious stuff outside of their and my control, so they could tell you if they so please." Professor Juniper replied.

"Well, Okay I guess." Lori replied.

"Oh well hello I guess then?" Ralsei said to the trainer he wasn't familiar with.

"Hey, what's your name?" Lori replied, calling her friends over.

"Well I'm Ralsei, uh nice to meet you?" The Umbreon said, offering their paw-like hand.

Lori seemed suprizingly open to the concept of humanoid pokemon, this bewildering the other three.

"I'm Lori!" Lori replied, taking the hand of the Umbreon for a good handshake. "Nice to meet you."

"What in the world..." Cheren said. "That can't be possible..."

"That's what we thought." Susie chimed in. "Clearly we're plain f-"

"No need to curse around children..." Ralsei interupted, putting a paw on the Dragonite's muzzle.

Susie sighed. "Well anyways, I'm Susie, that's Ralsei, and the kid with crutches is Kris, they don't talk so."

Kris gave a thumbs up in agreement.

"Well uh..." Cheren replied. "Nice to meet you?"

"Yeah, that works." Kieran replied. "Nice to meet you."

"You're so fluffy!" Bianca said of Ralsei, finally noticing the self-proclaimed fluffy boy.

"Guess that's good at least." Ralsei replied. "Still have that going for me."

"Well, so what brings you here?" Cheren asked. "And what superscience created you..."

"No idea, and no idea." Ralsei replied. "We're not dwelling on it too much ourselves."

Cheren was in disbelief. They didn't know what crack team of scientists created them? Lori seemed opened to teach them what she had learned on status conditions, such as being frozen, burned, or paralyzed. Easy cures that could be farmed, or purchased at the Pokemon Center's shopkeeps after the first badge or two was acquired. As the group chatted a small bit about the topic, someone peered in, noting that the gym had re-opened.

"You ready to go?" Lori asked Cheren.

"Sure." Cheren replied. "It'll let me process them for a moment."

Ralsei seemed up to follow, at least to put an attempt with three Pokemon at the gym. The Oshawott was much weaker than Ralsei's other two Pokemon, but it seemed to not matter too much for him. Bianca, Susie, Kris, and Kieran were left to their own devices.

"Wanna check out that Dreamyard?" Bianca asked. Kris shook their head no.

"You wanna stay here or something?" Susie asked Kris. "We can come back for you after." Kris seemed approving of this plan.

"Kieran?" Bianca asked.

"I mean if this Kris fellow doesn't wanna stay by themselves I can stay but." Kieran replied. Kris waved them off, which Kieran took as a signal that it was okay to leave Kris to their own devices in the Trainer School. Bianca, Susie, and Kieran walked out of the building, and towards the Dreamyard. Upon arriving, they noticed a small clearing, along with a grown over area blocking a larger part of the building's ruins, along with a large boulder blocking off yet another area.

"What's this all about?" Susie asked. "The hell?"

"I mean..." Kieran replied. "It's just some growth, I'm sure one of us would be able to with the right equipment, but don't have any shears or anything..."

"What about those HMs that were on the board in the Trainer School?" Bianca asked. "That Cut move might help."

"Hmm..." Susie said, trying to slash the growth with one of her claws. No luck. "Damn it!"

"Calm down?" Bianca asked. "You seem all angry."

"You should see me angry." Susie replied snarkily.

"Anyways..." Kieran said. "Let's head back, chances are someone in town has it, I mean we have to challenge the gym anyways, right?"

"Say..." A nearby adult said. "I do have some help for you about that gym. They serve type disadvantages, so I could give you someone to help fix that."

"What do you mean?" Bianca asked, wondering what could help.

"What Pokemon did you pick as a starter?" The adult, a female with black back-length hair and hazel eyes, dug through her hair-color matching purse.

"I got Snivy." Kieran said.

"Tepig myself." Susie replied, offering a look at the fire-type swine.

"Oshawott!" Bianca said excitedly.

"Noted." The woman dug through her purse. "I just so happen to have exactly three Pokemon that might be able to help you out."

"Oh?" Bianca asked. "A gift?"

"Yeah." The woman said, handing each of them a Pokeball.

"Hell yeah." Susie replied.

"For the Snivy user..." The woman replied. "A Panpour, a water type to counter Chili's fire type Pokemon."

"Thank you." Kieran replied.

"For the one who chose Oshawott..." The woman said to Bianca. "A Pansear. You'll be facing Cilan and his grass type Pokemon."

"Thanks!" Bianca said.

"And finally, for the one who chose Tepig..." The woman said. "A Pansage. You'd be facing Cress and his water types, so that will help you."

Susie gave a thumbs up.

"And yes, the gym will have what you're looking for in regards to that environmental growth, you may as well go challenge them now, right?" The woman asked.

"Thanks for the advice!" Bianca said, running off. Susie chased after Bianca, and Kieran chased after Susie.

"Wait up!" Kieran said, though he was slightly faster than his friend due to the running shoes.

A time in the Dreamyard was enough for Lori to have barely won the early gym battle, due to a lack of type disadvantage to work around, and for Cheren to have his behind sorely handed to him, as his team was swept by the stronger Lillipup. Ralsei had better luck, though her weaker Pokemon had barely managed to finish off the Pansage, who had been heavily weakened by the now KOed Ralsei, who used himself as his first Pokemon for the battle.

"Did you win?" Bianca asked.

"No, got my butt kicked..." Cheren said, clearly upset.

"I won..." Lori said, still floored over a lucky final hit, which she wouldn't have won the battle without.

"Maybe don't put myself in first..." Ralsei said, having come to, but still with some stars around their head in regards to the combat.

"Good job Lori!" Bianca yelled.

"Yeah... We were kinda weak for the gym..." Kieran said, noting his two gifted Pokemon at maybe being an even level for the battle, which they weren't, but the Panpour's type advantage, who Kieran hadn't come up with a name for yet, may be able to come out on top with.

"I'm sure I can kick their butt for you!" Susie yelled to try and condole Cheren.

"Well I have to win to get the badge..." Cheren said. "Say, maybe you and Bianca could train some more? I have a good feeling about my team, with that Audino and all..."

"You did get them fairly strong, yeah..." Cheren said. "Well, best of luck."

"Thanks." Kieran replied, as him and Susie went into the Gym.
