With the quartet of Kieran, Lori, Susie, and Ralsei heading out to the Dreamyard, they yet again encountered the growth that had stopped them before. The Emolga and the Panpour made short work of the vines and other plant objects using Cut, and the group went in, noticing that members of Team Plasma had already arrived at the locale, and were attempting to extract the dream mist from a Muuna themselves.
"Come on!" One of the two Team Plasma members yelled, kicking the Muuna. "Give us the dream mist!"
"Hey!" Lori yelled. "Stop that!"
"Who the hell are you?" Susie asked.
"You talking to us?" The other Team Plasma member chimed in. "We're Team Plasma."
"Our mission statement is to divorce the human and Pokemon worlds for the better of Pokemon!" The first of the two replied.
"We're trying to get some of this dream mist this Pokemon emits." The second Team Plasma member added. "With it, we'll be able to alter the peoples' dreams!"
"This will make them join us, to liberate their Pokemon!" The first added on top of that.
The Muuna, being kicked, did not seem to be enjoying itself.
"You really shouldn't be doing that!" Lori yelled. "I mean like I'm sure you people kicking wild Pokemon around is not within the paramaters of whatever in the Extralink's ideology you've come up with."
"Well, if you want to stop us so bad..." The first Team Plasma member added. "Why don't you try!"
The two assumed battle position, which was repeated by the other four.
"I'll get the defectors." The second Team Plasma member said of the two humanoid Pokemon, who they believed to be Pokemon who refused to join the cause after their change. "You deal with the kids."
The first Team Plasma member went up against Lori first, who had yelled at them to begin with. Lori's two Pokemon were much weaker than the rest of her companions, and it showed. The Patrat was able to dispatch the trainer, but before they could steal the Pokemon of Lori's to liberate, the Team Plasma member was tripped up by Audrey.
"You leave her alone!" The Audino yelled, her personal vendetta fueling her rage. The Team Plasma grunt had just enough time to get up and consider taking the Audino and running before was tacked again, this time by Susie, who had sent the other Team Plasma fleeing with their figurative tail behind their legs. Just then, what appeared to be Ghetsis appeared, as Ralsei and Kieran took position against them.
"Well, Well, Well..." Ghetsis said, seeming off. His eyes glew red. "What in Arceus's name are you two doing messing around with children?"
"W-w-we weren't..." The one said worriedly, as Susie rushed over to attack this, which faded into a pink mist, before he appeared on the other side.
"Is it not our job to seperate these foolish humans from Pokemon?" Ghetsis asked.
"Y-y-yeah..." The remaining Team Plasma member replied, quivering.
"Well then..." Ghetsis asked, appearing in a different locale yet again, behind where the Muuna was. "If you cannot perform your duties against such youngsters."
"Oh Arceus, I'm gonna get out of here before he's gonna dish out some big punishment!" The remining Team Plasma member ran off, slightly limping due to the legs hurting, no serious injury having occured, just being in some pain from being knocked off his feet a few times. Susie went at it again, with Ghetsis disappearing before she could get there.
"What the hell..." Susie said, bewildered, before what appeared to be a bigger Muuna showed itself. It was behind one of the concrete walls of the abandoned structure.
"Was that real?" Kieran said, returning his Pokemon to be safe.
"Oh I just couldn't wait!" Fennel yelled, having ran over, noticing the ruckus the group had made. "Wait, what happened?"
"If it wasn't for me." Susie replied. "Those Team Plasma schmucks would've made it off with Lori and probably Kieran's Pokemon!"
"Oh no..." Fennel replied. "What are they doing out here?"
"They were just in Accumula Town too..." Kieran commented.
"This far south and east?" Fennel asked. "That's not good. Anyways, what about the dream mist? Did anyone get any in this?"
"I don't know honestly." Lori said, just standing up. "I saw Muuna, they were attacking it, we tried getting them to stop, and..."
"That Ghetsis guy was really getting on my nerves, Pokedex says it's probably this Musharna character here." Susie replied.
"There was a Musharna here?" Fennel asked. "Interesting. It likely used its ability to make dreams into reality to save its evolutionary younger."
"Wow..." Ralsei piped in. "Is everyone going to be okay though?"
"We should probably get you all checked out." Fennel said. "Say, what's that on the ground there?"
A bottle containing the pink mist had been left behind, but it was unknown who had it. Did the Muuna or Musharna fill it? Did Team Plasma have the mist already and dropped it on their fleeing. Whatever it was, the dream mist was now in their posession.
"Hey!" Fennel yelled excitedly. "It's the dream mist. I can complete my research with this, say, meet up with Cheren and Bianca, and we can show the four of you what I was working on!"
"Hey what of us?" Susie asked of her and Ralsei.
"Oh yeah, you two can come along as well, the more the merrier!" Fennel replied.
"Right..." Susie replied. "Anyways, I guess we could head back and check on Kris and your two friends."
"Yeah." Lori said. "I think I could use a break too."
"Sorry I got you all in this..." Fennel said. "You could've been really hurt."
"Yeah." Susie replied. "No shit."
"No need to curse..." Ralsei replied, not liking it when Susie used profanities.
"Whatever." Susie replied. "Seems like an appropriate time if there ever was one."
Ralsei sighed, as the fluffy boy at least saw the point. With that, the group headed back towards Fennel's lab, and Fennel was pretty excited to show it off. As they headed back, they noticed their three friends exiting the gym.
"So how'd it go?" Kieran asked.
"We did it!" Bianca said happily, showing off her own Trio Badge.
"Good job!" Kieran replied. "Cheren, Kris?"
Kris nodded, and Cheren showed his off too.
"Now we all have it!" Ralsei said. "Anyways, wanna come with us? This Fennel gal had something to show us."
"Don't see why not." Cheren replied, as the seven headed up to the lab. Fennel had offered the reward of Cut to the others, who took it, Cheren using it on Purrloin, and Bianca using it on Lillipup. Kris had used it on a Patrat he had caught while grinding earlier.
"Well, with the dream mist, I'm now able to record dreams!" Fennel said.
"What good does that do us?" Susie asked.
"Well, it'll be able to scan some of the status of trainers across time, to an extent." Fennel said. "And since you four went through so much trouble, I guess I'll give the four C-Gears I had got for you then. It's used for more special forms of communication."
"Noted." Kieran said.
"Like what?" Ralsei asked.
"Infared communications, dousing, a more advanced trainer messaging system." Fennel asked, handing them out. "There'll be a question mark icon on there if you're ever lost using the device."
"Thanks." Susie replied, not seeing the use of it 100%, but found it to be a nice gift anyways.
"Thanks a lot." Ralsei said.
"Yeah." Lori replied. Kieran gave a thumbs up, agreeing to all the thanking going on and to send the same sentiment.
"I can even patch up these dreams to the Extralink, making them into reality!" Fennel said excitedly. "It's in the middle of Unova."
"Cool." Susie replied. They were also given a code for a subscription to Pal Pad, a social service Amanita, Fennel's assistant, liked. This was given to all seven, though the service was more limited on the XTransciever decivices.
"Well see you sometime maybe?" Kieran asked.
"You never know!" Fennel replied.
As the group walked out, they walked into an ornate garden, which took almost half of the small village. There was a lot of foot traffick, but not many permament residents. An old man stopped them, asking to see if they had had the badge from the gym.
"Why do you want to know?" Kieran asked.
"Well, there's many things beyond this town much stronger than before. To show you can manage, I require individuals to have their Trio Badge before leaving." The old man said.
"Noted." Susie said, showing off hers, followed by the other six.
"You're all free to go." The old man said. "Good luck on your journey."
"You too." Cheren said, leading the group on to the next route.
