Agent Tedesco, Susie, and Kieran had arrived in Nacrene City, Susie having carried Lori, who wasn't passed out but still rather weak, all the way there. The group rushed as fast as Susie could carry Lori to the Pokemon Center, where the four in question, being Cheren, Bianca, and the two new Pokemon hybrids, were being kept for observation for the moment. Lori had recovered well enough to wait outside.
"They're going to be okay right?" Kieran asked.
"Should be, yeah. Might be hard for the two Pokemon, but I'm sure at least your friends will be." Agent Tedesco replied.
Susie sighed. "How am I supposed to keep you all safe?"
"What do you mean?" Agent Tedesco said.
"First that Dreamyard place, now this, I can't be around to save them every time there's trouble." Susie replied.
"Just help them get stronger." Tedesco replied. I'm sure you could at least get Kieran into fighting shape."
"And what about that whole, uh, contingency thing." Susie replied.
"Just get good on the return, is all you can do." Tedesco replied. "They'll bump into their own Pokemon, or a wild Pokemon instead."
"Okay noted." Susie said. "So, how long do you think they'll be?"
"I'd say give them the day, and even if they get out, probably don't head out until tomorrow." Tedesco replied. "Plenty of time for you, Kieran, and that one miss to get plenty strong enough. You've got the gym in this town too, so."
"I mean don't we have to go get Kris anyways?" Kieran asked.
"Yeah, fair enough, she probably went back with the preschool folks, just for now anyways." Susie replied.
"Plus, the one person can heal our Pokemon anyways, so..." Kieran replied.
"Cool." Susie said back.
Susie, Kieran, and Lori wished luck to Agent Tedesco, and began heading back to the preschool. The agents of Team Plasma had scattered, so it was unlikely that they'd be back. The group had healed their Pokemon, since they were at the Pokemon Center anyways, and headed off in order to train and to retrieve Kris. Battles went fairly well for Kieran and to an extent Lori, but Susie's Tepig had had some trouble due to it being relatively weaker. A few double battles against the local trainers, however, drove the Tepig's level up quickly, as Kieran's stronger Pokemon, specifically Audrey, at this point level 17, made short work of the local trainers, using level 10-12 Pokemon. Upon arriving back, they noticed the little girl petting Kris's Blitzle.
"Oh hey, you're back." The woman at the preschool that had talked with Kieran and Cheren earlier said. "Any news on the Pokemon."
"Yeah... uh..." Kieran said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Not good news?" The woman asked.
"No, sorry..." Kieran replied. "I mean they're okay but..."
"But?" The woman asked, genuinely unsure.
"It's probably best that the officers told you." Susie said. "It's not worth worrying about right now."
"Uh..." The woman replied. "Okay?"
"Anyways, I'm Susie." Susie reached out her hand. "I helped them all out, so I thought I'd introduce myself."
"Regina." The woman of the daycare replied, shaking Susie's hand.
"Well, just stopped by to get healed, Kieran said we could do that, and also to get Kris, thought we could train together." Susie replied.
"Fair enough." Regina replied. "Don't wanna leave a friend behind, right?"
"Yeah." Susie replied, walking over.
"W-what happened to Muuna?" The small child who was borrowing the Pokemon asked.
"They're..." Susie said. "Just being taken care of right now, they'll be back to see you, promise."
"Really? The child asked.
"Yeah." Susie said. They weren't sure if they'd stick around the preschool, being legally free now and all that, but I mean it'd just be mean to not say goodbye, right?
"Yay!" The small child yelled, smiling.
"Anyways, Kris!" Susie replied. "Time to go!"
Kris gave a thumbs up, getting up, giving the child a hug.
"Bye bye!" The little girl said. Kris nodded, waving goodbye as well.
The group walked out, Kris waving goodbye again to the little girl, as the group got to some more training.
Susie, with her very high level for this section of the region, was mainly a teacher and cheerleader for how to battle. The wild Pokemon would offer her a pittance of EXP relative to what she'd actually need to level up anyways. Susie had also caught a Pidove, having got her Pansage into a battle. The bird was battle-worn, so they stayed in the Pokeball for the afternoon. After various encounters and grinding, the day slowly came to evening, and the group elected to head back to town. Everyone except Susie that could fight had gotten stronger by at least a level, besides Susie's new Pidove. The group soon came back to the Pokemon Center.
"So how are Cheren and Bianca?" Lori asked.
"They're fine. The two Pokemon are as well." The nurse, Nurse Clifton, a rare male in the field of Pokemon Center management, said. There was also Doctor Vivian, a travelling doctor that worked on cases such as the Patrat and Muunas' predicaments.
"That's good." Lori said, with a slight grin.
"What about those two Pokemon though?" Kieran asked.
"Yeah, I should probably apologise to that rat there." Susie said, not feeling too bad about it, but feeling as if they should make amends anyways.
"They're recovering." Nurse Clifton replied. "The Patrat seems a lot more apt for human things than the Muuna however."
"Know where we can stay for the night then?" Susie asked.
"There's a small inn and restaurant on the other end of town." Nurse Clifton replied. "Fairly good rate too."
"Thank you." Kieran replied.
"Have a nice night!" Lori said.
"You too." Nurse Clifton said, as the group of four walked off towards the inn/restaurant in order to buy a stay for the night. It beat camping, so they decided to do it, especially giving the longer routes later on.
