As Susie, Lori, Kris, and Kieran were walking down the street at night, they noticed how the small street lamps gave a dim glow to the area, making the walk navigable and not in pitch black darkness. The walk wasn't too far, but the battles before hand made the group rather paranoid, especially Lori, who had sustained the most injuries of the group out and about.
"Don't worry." Susie replied. "I got you all."
"Thanks..." Lori said.
"I can't wait to get there." Kieran replied.
Kris nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, we're almost there." Susie said, the group getting battle ready after hearing a bump in the night. Turns out, it was just a wild Pidove, looking for crumbs.
"Oh Arceus..." Lori said. "That little bird got me so scared."
"I mean an ambush wouldn't be fun, no." Susie replied.
"Anyways, we're here now!" Kieran said.
"Yeah." Susie replied. "Let's head in."
And head in they did. The group quickly found the hotel to have a somewhat quiet lobby, just a few staff and stragglers finishing their meals before heading to bed.
"What brings you here this late?" The clerk asked. "The restaurant's closed for the night, sadly."
"We just need a place to stay." Susie replied.
"Two rooms please." Lori replied.
"Two rooms, that'll be P$5000." The clerk replied.
The group paid, as the hotel was fairly cheap, though many things were in this universe, Susie commented that it was only the price of say, a hyper potion for the each of them to stay in the rooms. Kieran was used to the fairly low cost of things, but Lori was a bit higher of an income-class as a child, so was used to slightly higher-end things.
"Say." Susie said. "Kieran, would you mind if Audrey and I talked some?"
"You can talk to them?" Kieran asked.
"Yeah, haven't you seen me?" Susie replied. "I'm part Pokemon myself after all."
"Fine enough then." Kieran replied.
Kieran let Audrey out, so she could accept the offer or decline.
"Oh hey, uh we okay?" Audrey asked.
"We're fine. Cheren and Bianca are in for observation for the night, we booked a hotel." Susie answered. "Was going to see if you wanted to stay with me and Kris for the night, I wanted to chat with you."
"I mean, okay?" Audrey replied. "I'm not too attached to Kieran after all, new trainer and that."
"That's that then." Susie replied, taking the Audino and heading off to her room, the fourth one. Kieran was next door, in the second room. There were ten rooms in total, five on two stories of the three story structure. There were a few vacancies in the hotel, as it wasn't too busy tonight, generally it wasn't this time of year. The restaurant was always busy enough to keep the business afloat though.
Susie, Audrey, and Kris examined their room. It seemed rustic, with the brick walls, flannel curtains, and wood floor and furniture. A small television was also on the item, and two smaller beds, the third floor having a king, the second floor having two full beds instead. There was also a small couch, which Audrey could fit on if they didn't' want to sleep in their ball, which Kieran had also provided, or in a bed with Susie or Kris.
"What did you want to ask, Susie?" Audrey asked.
"I just wanted to see what you thought of, well, everything." Susie replied. "You remind me of Kris and Ralsei a lot."
"Speaking of, where'd he go?" Audrey asked of Ralsei.
"Oh yeah, he got his own place to stay, apparently one of the Clerks in the Pokemart let him crash for the night." Susie said. "Got a text about it, don't' see why he could've have asked for us though..."
"That doesn't seem very nice." Audrey replied. "Anyways, what about reminding you of them?"
"Oh right." Susie replied. "It just seems like you have the ability to fight for yourself, maybe get a bit stronger first but."
"Well, uh, thanks." Audrey replied.
"You keep an eye on Kieran when you are out, okay?" Susie replied. "You're his protector I'm thinking."
"Really?" Audrey asked.
"Yeah." Susie replied. "You've got what it takes to be as strong as I am some day."
"Well thanks." Audrey responded.
"No problem." Susie said. "It's a battlers' world. We've gotta be strong enough."
"Plus, then I can give those Team Plasma guys what they deserve!" Audrey yelled happily.
"That's the spirit!" Susie yelled in response. "We need you to be able to kick their ass someday. Won't be tomorrow, probably won't be the day after that, but I'm sure when you need to be, you'll be strong enough."
"Uh, anyways..." Audrey replied. "You want to see if Kieran wants to try the gym tomorrow?"
"Don't see why not." Susie replied. "Plus I've heard you get more stuff you're able to buy with more badges."
"Yeah!" Audrey replied, wiggling her small tail.
"I wonder how far we'll end up going." Susie asked.
"Unova is pretty big, yeah." Audrey replied. "I'm sure the gyms and champion stuff will guide us in a direction."
"Fair enough." Susie replied. "Anyways, probably should be getting to bed, it is rather late."
"Yeah." Audrey said, as she went off to brush her teeth, may as well since they had stuff here for it. Disposable ones you'd have in a dentist's office sort of so you could brush some before starting the appointment. Susie and Kris decided to follow suit, and the group was eventually of too bed. They'd be able to procure their friends in the morning, and Ralsei would likely meet them at the Pokemon Center anyways, so it probably wasn't anything of note for them to do overnight anyways.
"Night Susie." Audrey said, lights having come off, herself being given a spare pillow from Susie's bed, along with the loose sheet to use as a blanket.
"Night." Susie said, as the two eventually came to rest.
