Suitcase
"Why don't you unpack it?"
No, no, he had insisted. There was no need. Everything was perfectly fine as it was.
She had raised her brows, tempted to say that he was a liar. Rachel could see the way he fumbled with his clothes in the morning, his crinkled shirts and trousers becoming even more creased as time went on. He had caught her once, ironing his socks, a short argument ensuing where he promised her that he would sort himself out.
Since then, a small collection had appeared at hers, consisting of his clothes, schoolwork, and a very shabby toothbrush. She didn't mind so much, if it wasn't for the mess. And then he had brought the suitcase.
"Eddie," she groaned.
"What?"
He had halted, as if he couldn't understand what the problem was.
Then he had never unpacked the suitcase. Leaving it under the bed and dragging it out whenever he needed something new, the mess inside becoming more unravelled as he shifted through its contents. And despite her protests, he never unpacked it.
"Surely, I'm worth it?" he'd joked.
She'd purse her lips and hum, assuming that she would simply have to compromise. Clearly, her protestations weren't getting through to him.
Still, when they went to bed at night, his arm wrapped protectively over her, the smell of him emanating as he slept, Rachel supposed she could overlook the messy suitcase. If only she could spend every night that way.
Tbh, I hate this prompt- it's not well-written lmao. But I'm trying to get back into the swing of things so just bear with me when it comes to quality.
Also, I just want people to know that I am aware there's a larger chapter limit than 93 but for some reason, it kept glitching. I didn't want the story to be too long anyway, so I was going to split it at 100 prompts. It's a bit premature but I'll keep with that and continue these prompts up until I reach the 200 mark, so hopefully, this site doesn't crash on me again before that.
Thank you to everyone who has followed this and favourited it, continuing on from my last prompts! It means so much!
