Arendelle
Many Years Ago
She couldn't help but marvel at the ice palace Queen Elsa had made with her magic as the latter guided her up the second floor of the palace. It was like nothing she had ever seen before as her feet took her to the balcony that overlooked the whole fjord and Arendelle could be barely seen in the distance.
After a brief introduction from the former assassin, and an explanation on where the Duke of Weselton's true loyalties lied. Queen's trust in her seemed to grow in her as she listened intently on the girl Claudius was searching for. Something told her she wasn't the monster the man sought to picture her as.
"How can you help exactly?".
"I..don't know if I'm being honest" she admitted to the blonde "I have no allies, no way of getting information for you, I can't offer you sanctuary anywhere. If anything you should be sending me away" she trails off in defeat.
"And yet I'm not" she tells her "Why are you still here then if there's nothing you can offer me?".
"Because I don't want to run anymore or at least I didn't want to walk away this time".
"This time?".
"A year ago I met another Queen, she had magic but it was clouded by hate and vengeance, when it came for me to leave. I confronted her about it, but I think I did more harm than good, ever since I left I couldn't help but think that maybe if I stayed and helped instead of leaving, that she would take a leap of faith into the right direction, then maybe things would be different, I wouldn't be running for my life, and the one person that I've ever cared about would still be alive" she trailed off as fresh tears shimmered in her emerald eyes.
"Who were they?" Elsa gently asked the young assassin, gently taking her hand. The former assassin didn't even flinch. She trusted her as well.
"My father".
"Then I want you to stay, if these men are really after me because of my powers then you can help me by staying. And in return I can help keep you safe from those men after you, you did safe my life after all".
A sad smile grew on her face as she looked up at the Queen who mirrored her "Okay".
With the help of Kristoff and Sven, John and Anna had made it to the top of the North Mountain just by the skin of their teeth after being chased by wolves, jumping over a cliff where him and Kristoff just about hung on the edge of for long enough for Anna and Sven to pull them both up only to see Arendelle completely frozen over.
And now a small snowman that went by the name of Olaf had joined them after finding out that Elsa had created a living snowman that had a fondness for summertime.
The captain was sure to bite his tongue when the snowman wondered what frozen things did in summer with a firm warning from the princess for both him and Kristoff.
Amelia's gauntlets on his forearms felt heavier each step the higher they got up the mountain. Each minute that went past was another minute she could be dead or worse with the Brotherhood buzzing around without anything to protect her with.
He knew for a fact she could handle herself but he wasn't willing to sit back and wait anymore. He was going to find the woman he cared for and make sure she was safe, even if she had to leave him again.
"Woah" Anna breathed out in awe of the palace that had been made completely out of ice.
"Now that's ice. I might cry" the ice harvester says as he looks up.
"Go ahead. We won't judge" Anna says as she starts to climb up the ice staircase with John and Olaf following behind her. This is where Amelia would be. He knew it in his gut she was here. His bare hand felt the chill of the ice through his skin has he used the railing to steady his ascent up, hearing Kristoff's own amazement from the bottom as he made his way up behind them.
Arriving at a set of ice door's, the Princess held up a closed fist ready to knock on the door to announce their arrival only to hesitate as Kristoff caught up with them still looking at the icy architecture.
"Knock" Olaf encouraged the young redhead "Just knock" Olaf repeats to her "Why isn't she knocking?" the snowman whispers up to the blonde men behind him "Do you think she know's how to knock?" at that the Princess gives the door three hard knock's before they open.
"Huh it opened. That's a first" Anna comments before looking behind her "Oh. You two should probably wait out here" she suggests to the pair.
"What?".
"The last time I introduced her to a guy, she froze everything" she reminded the pair.
"But..but..oh, come on! Its a palace made of ice! Ice is my life!" Kristoff argued to the Princess.
"Amelia's in there, I can't stay out here" John started to protest to her.
"I know, I know. I'll send her out here I promise" nodding he take a step away from the door trusting Anna's instincts only for the small snowman to head into the palace.
"Bye Sven! Bye Johnathan!" he says towards the men only to get stopped by Anna.
"You too, Olaf" she tells him.
"Me?".
"Just give us a minute".
"Okay" he says as he joins John and Kristoff sat on the top step of the stairs "One..two ..three..".
Hearing the door open in the foyer, the redheaded former assassin jumped up from her place on the balcony looking over the view.
"Lia? What is it?" the Queen asks her seeing her emerald eye's suddenly shine a shimmering gold as she looks down at the floor, seeing through the ice floor the redhead sat three figures with another smaller figure that stood only a few feet tall.
"You have company" she informs the Queen. Quick footsteps took the Queen and the former assassin downstairs to find her younger sister stood at the bottom, the same sister that had been keeping company of the man the lit up red in the chapel.
"Anna?" Elsa calls down to her sister who finally see's her for the first time since the ball. Awestruck the young Princess stares at her sister's new appearance, the blue shimmering dress and the blonde hair that let out loose in a braid. Her sister looked beautiful.
Next to her stood a the woman in the lilac outfit that protected her sister when that man tried to kill her in the courtyard. This was Amelia. John's 'friend'. Her long straight hair sat on her shoulders as she stood with grace and poise of royalty. At least John was right about being beautiful.
"Wow. Elsa you look different. It's a good different. And this place...its amazing".
"Thank you. I never knew what I was capable of".
"I'm so sorry about what happened. If I'd known..".
"It's okay. You don't have to apologize. But you should probably go, please".
"But I just got here" Anna argued.
"You belong in Arendelle" Elsa tells her sister.
"So do you".
"No, Anna. I belong here. Alone. Where i can be who I am without hurting anybody".
"Actually about that.." Ann trailed off only to be interrupted by a small snowman. The redhead had to pinch herself to make sure she was away as she saw a walking and talking snowman, complete withe a carrot nose and stubbly, snowball legs came running into the palace with twigs either wide of his torso that moved like arms.
"Fifty-eight...fifty-nine...sixty!" the snowman exclaimed "Hi! I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!" it said as it climbed up the steps to stand next to Anna.
"Olaf?" Elsa said in confusion as she eyed the snowman.
"Yeah. You built me" Olaf tells her "Remember that?".
"And you're alive?".
"Um.. I think so" he says making the assassin look between the Queen and the snowman. This was powerful magic indeed.
"He's just like the one we built as kids" Anna pointed as she knelt beside the small snowman.
"Yeah" Elsa sighed out in fondness.
"Elsa, we were so close. We can be like that again" Anna tells her sister only for a look to come over the Queen's face that made the assassin take a hesitant step towards the blonde.
"No, we can't" the Queen suddenly snaps as she heads to the stairs "Goodbye Anna" at that the Queen left leaving her shocked sister at the bottom of the stairs, her eyes full of pain as Elsa climbed the steps behind her, leading up to second story of the ice palace.
After a beat Anna hurried after her leaving the former and snowman alone on the staircase. The redhead's brow's furrowed as she watched Olaf trying his best to climb the steps, struggling to lift his small round body over the edges.
"What are you doing?" Amelia asks the snowman as she starts to walk down the stairs.
"Going after them, of course" Olaf cried out in an obvious tone.
"Maybe we should let them talk" she suggested to the snowman.
"Not. A. Chance" he grunted in reply, straining to pull himself over another icy step as the assassin finally reached him. Looking up he was over towered by the woman.
"Need some help?" she asked with a quirked up eyebrow with her arms folded over her chest.
"Yes please" he says holding out his arms to her. Rolling her eyes the former assassin picked the snowman up, perching him comfortably on her shoulder as she started her climb back up the stairs, his stubby legs kicking at the air.
"What's your name?" he asks her "I'm Olaf!" he exclaimed again.
"Amelia" she tells the snowman.
"Hmmm Amelia" the snowman hummed to himself in deep thought as he was carried up the stairs "My friend Johnathan is looking for an Amelia, are you her?".
"I don't know a Johnathan" she tells the snowman.
"Maybe" he hummed "He did say she was pretty" he continued to ponder Johnathan's description of the woman he was looking for.
"Sorry to disappoint you".
Amelia found Elsa and Anna in the large room that overlooked the rest of Arendelle with the former's back to them, holding her head in her hands as flurries of snow and ice started to swirl dangerously around the room.
"Oh god..Oh, I'm such a fool" she heard Elsa mutter to herself "I can't be free. I can't ever be free of this" she said as Amelia placed Olaf on back on the ground.
"Elsa it's alright, you don't have to be afraid anymore!" Anna tried to plead to her sister seeing what her emotions were doing with her powers as the assassin took a hesitant step towards the ice queen.
"No, there's no escape" Elsa whispered shakily "No escape from the storm inside of me".
Amelia tried to keep her heart calm in her chest as panic started to set in. The panic that told her that she needed to run as the snow storm around Elsa began to grow.
"Elsa it's okay, just stay calm" Amelia tries her best to calm the Queen.
"No!" Elsa shouted at the assassin, rounding on the redhead only to take a beat when she saw the pang of fear in her friends eye as Olaf clings to the back of the former assassin's robe as the wind continued to swirl around them in a tight cyclone of snow and ice.
"It's alright, don't panic" Anna gently takes her sisters attention from the woman that had saved her in the courtyard "We can reverse it, bring back summer, make the sun shine bright again!".
"Anna, please, you'll only make it worse!" Elsa continued as turned her back on her sister once more.
"Elsa!" Amelia yelled over the rushing wind as she tried to shield her eyes from as the full blizzard only got worse "You need to calm down!".
"We can fix this!" Anna called out desperately to her sister. The blizzard starting to become so dense the assassin was starting to lose sight of the young Princess.
"Please! Please, you need to go, you both do. You're not safe!" Elsa pleaded to the pair.
"No I'm not leaving you!" she heard Anna shout back "For the first time in forever, I finally understand! We can face this together! Anna dried.
Amelia and Anna both stumbled as the whirling rushing blizzard was suddenly sucked back into Elsa's body. For a moment the room became calm and quiet as the former assassin glaces over at Anna, who was smiling excitedly at her, filled with hope that her sister had taken control as the assassin let out a single breath.
"I CAN'T!".
A pulse-wave of icy energy exploded out of the Queen's body, shaking the entire castle as it hit both Amelia and Anna in the chest, knocking them both off their feet.
It felt like a thousand tiny blade had been rushed right through her chest, as she fell onto her knee's, as the air had literally been taken from her lungs. She felt her heart stop beating for a long second as she forced the air that had escaped her lungs go back into them as her world around her spun on its axis.
"AMELIA! ANNA!" a pair of male voices called out for them two men rushed into the room. sliding onto his knees the blonde Captain quickly gathered the redhead into his arms as her face twisted in pain as she clutched at her chest.
"John" she gasped out for air her seeing the man that continued to help her despite her warnings to keep his distance.
"Yeah it's me, you're okay. Can you get up?" he asked her as she nodded. Keeping an arm around her waist as she looked to see a man she recognized helping Anna off the ground next to her.
"Kristoff?".
Hearing his name, Kristoff whirled around, his eye growing wide as he see the woman that given Sven her carrots "Natasha?" You're Amelia?".
"Natasha?" John questioned her in confusion.
"Olaf!" the snowman suddenly exclaimed.
"You..know these men?" Elsa asks them, her eyes wide in fear "No...I-It doesn't matter. You need to go, all of you" she demand out of them.
"No!" Anna cried "I know we can figure this out together".
"How? What power do you have to stop this winter? To stop me?".
"You're right we don't but we can try" Amelia spoke up, taking a step away from John's arms "The minute I let go of the belief that things will get better is the minute that I know they won't. We'll never give up on you".
"You said it yourself, you don't know how to help me, you're better off leaving!" she felt the harsh words make the bottom of her lips quiver as she felt John pull her away from the Queen.
"We're not leaving without you, Elsa" Anna tells her.
"Yes you are" she tells them before throwing out her arm to the side, an icy beam hitting ground as swirling flurries of snow began to rise from the floor. The others all slowly back away, watching with wide eyes as the snow began to take shape. First came two massive hulking legs, then a large torso to match. Two beefy arms formed next, with broach bulging shoulders and finally a head, with two hole carved into the snow for eye's with a jaw that looked like it could pick up a fully grown horse in its mouth.
"What the fu-" the rest of Amelia's curse was muffled out as Elsa's snow monster let out defending roar. The group didn't even get a step away from the monster before they were suddenly scooped up in an icy fist.
She couldn't move as she was squished up against John's strong chest as she and the captain where carried out in one hand and Anna and Kristoff in the other with Olaf doing his best to stop the beast by beating his tiny twig fist into its foot only to get ignored as he literally threw the former assassin and captain down the icy stairs.
"GO AWAY!" the monster bellowed in a deep gravelly voice as he hurled Anna and Kristoff down the stairs clattering into the others in the snow making them all groan out in pain as they got back onto their feet.
"Heads up!" Olaf cried out as his head came flying towards them only for the assassin to easily jump up and pluck his head out of the air before it hit the snow covered rock behind them "Ohh nice catch! Watch out for my butt!" Olaf head said in her hands as she ducked down as the rest of his body sailed past her head.
Getting back onto her feet the Princess gathered a snowball in her hands marching back towards the now monster who was lumbering back into the palace "It's not nice to throw people!" she shouted angrily at the monster ready to throw the snowball only for Kristoff to quickly pull her back.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, feisty pants" Kristoff exclaimed grabbing her arm "Just calm down. Leave the very big scary monster be" he reasoned with her.
"Right, right, calm, I'm calm" Ann replied, smoothing out her face and nodding in agreement turning away from the snow monster as they all let out a breath of relief.
Only for the Princess to double back on herself to whirl around and throw the snowball at the monster. Amelia could literally count the amount of second it took for the snowball to sail through the air before finally, striking the snow monster's back.
"Shit" the former assassin hissed to herself.
"Language" John lightly scolds her as the monster stopped in its tracks momentarily as it felt the small projectile hit him bellowing a roar of rage before massive pointed icicles shot out from his body.
"Now you made him mad!" Kristoff exclaimed.
"You guy's go. I'll hold him off" Olaf's severed head commanded from Amelia's hands. Grabbing Anna's arm, Kristoff quickly pulled her away from the infuriated snow monster that was now charging for them as Sven galloped off in the opposite direction.
Olaf's torso and midsection freed itself from the snow covered rock reattaching themselves together before running away "No, no! Not you guys!" he whined before John caught it allowing the assassin to shove his head back onto his body, only to see that she left his head backwards before John grabbed hand away dragging her in the same direction Anna and Kristoff headed.
"This just got a lot harder" the snowman commented as the snow monster walked past.
Seeing the only way was down the pair let themselves slide down the side of the mountain using the snow to cushion them as they finally caught up to the others as they saw Anna's form literally take out Kristoff at the bottom as the came to a stop at the bottom only for the snow monster to land land behind them making the ground shake as it roared at them once again.
She felt a pair of strong arms literally get her back onto her feet before they found themselves running through snow covered treetops as the snow monster.
"Okay. Is no one else going to deal with the fact that you just said "language?" the redhead yelled at the captain.
"I know" he grumbled out next to her "It just slipped out" he defended himself as they saw Anna snap a tree into the monster's face.
"Ha! Nice shot!" Amelia exclaimed at the Princess as they celebrated the small victory against the monster.
"I got him!" Anna exclaimed only for their celebrations to go short lived as they come to a cliff edge with a large drop beneath them.
"It's a hundred foot drop" Anna estimated.
"Its two hundred" Kristoff corrected as he tied rope around Anna's waist tightly making her wince as he grabs his axe and starts digging into the snow.
"What's that for?".
"I'm digging snow anchor".
"Okay. What if we fall?".
"There's twenty feet of fresh powder down there, it'll be like landing on a pillow. Hopefully" he adds.
Looking down the redhead stayed silent as she calculated if she could do the jump. She's jumped higher in her life, only it was into a large body of water. Looking up she saw John watching her.
"Do you trust me?" she asks him as her emerald eyes meet his as the snow monster's.
"I do" he says in a heart beat.
"Good" she says with a wink of her eye.
"Wha-" before he could say anything off she sprinted forward jumped off the edge of the cliff with her arms wide out by her sides leaving the other gawping at her actions.
Tucking her her arms back to her sides the icy air hit her face as the wind rippled past her as she dove head first into the snow that was quickly rushing towards her as she leaned herself forward so that she would comfortably land on her back, the snow cushioning her fall as she finally landed.
He was right. Just like a pillow, she thought to herself as she pushed herself out of the snow to find John a few feet away from her covered head to toe in the white snow.
"You made it" she sighed in relief seeing the captain alive a well.
"Told you I trusted you" he said as she suddenly felt a rough but wet tongue sweep her cheek making her stiffen.
Turning she see's Sven standing next to her, his beady eyes happy to see the 'nice lady' that gave him carrot's a few days ago.
"Hello again handsome" she greets the reindeer as she reached up to nuzzle his chin in greeting as John free's himself from the snow.
"Stop calling him handsome!" Kristoff tells her making the reindeer gruff at his owner in annoyance as she accepts a helping hand from the captain only to see her gauntlets she had to give up to get the winter dress that stopped her from freezing to death before she found Elsa.
"You okay?" he asks her as her eyes stay glued to his forearms.
"Where did you get those?" she curiously asks him.
"Well I had to get them back to their rightful owner didn't I?" he said as he slid them off his arms to give them back to her.
"I-" she was lost for words as she looked up at him. "Thank you" she gulps out.
"You keep saying that lately" he says as she let him slid them back onto her arms.
"You really need to stop helping me" she tells him as he tightens them back onto her arms.
"Can't help it Ma'am" he quickly replies as he gets caught in her gaze "Especially when a pretty dame is concerned" he adds.
"Johnathan!" Olaf suddenly exclaims taking his eye away from the redhead that had taken a space in his head and heart.
"Olaf" John stated in slight annoyance to look at the small snowman that had accompanied them.
"So this is the Amelia you've been talking about" he says looking up at the redhead that had helped him up the stairs.
"It is".
"Hmm I thought you said she'd be prettier" he tells the Captain.
"Olaf!" Anna lightly scolds the snowman as she and Kristoff join them "Don't be rude" she tells him as Amelia meet's the ice harvester.
"Kristoff" she nods at the man she had met on the docks "Good to see you again".
"Natasha" he gruff's out making sure to not look at her.
"Wait.. You two know each other?" Anna ask's looking between them.
"Uh, yeah. I met 'Natasha' here when she first arrived in Arendelle" Kristoff replied crossing his arms across this chest as he pouts at her "If that's really your name" he accused her making Anna dramatically gasp at her.
"Look, I'm sorry for that, but there's a reason for it. My name is Amelia. The reason I'm in Arendelle is because it was the first port John could kick me off his ship".
"Amy-" John tried to interrupt her
"It's fine, three months ago I smuggled myself on his ship when I was running away from the people I once thought my family. At the docks I saw some men that belonged to an order I've been raised to fight against for their beliefs like people like Elsa"
"Like my sister?" Anna asked curiously.
"Magic users. Once the Templar Order heard your gates were being opened again after so long, they wanted to find out why. The coronation gave them the opportunity they needed to find out your sister's secret, and it worked. But it's not them I'm worried about. Its the order I once fought for my old Mentor is working with them".
"If you fought why are they working together now?" Kristoff asked her.
"Because of me" she answers them "Three months ago I learnt that my parents belonged to these orders. My father was killed for marrying the enemy and having me. They been hunting me down ever since I escaped our home. They must have come to some sort of agreement to work together to find me, instead now they'll be looking for Elsa. I tried my best to warn her at the ball instead I saved her from being struck down in the courtyard".
"Elsa mentioned you were trying to help her "Anna spoke up "How?".
"I don't know. I just know I couldn't walk away".
"Thank you" Anna tried to comfort the woman that trekked the North Mountain by herself just to save a complete stranger.
The group found themselves in complete silence as they let Amelia's story sink in.
Clearing his throat, Kristoff was the one to break the bout of silence "So...what now?" he asked looking at the other's for the answer.
"Now what?" Anna exclaimed as her eyes filled with panic "Oh no!, she threw us out! I...I can't go back to Arendelle with the weather like this!".
"What do you mean?" Amelia asked her.
"When you and Elsa ran off, she froze the entire fjord, the entire kingdom" Anna explained to her "Arendelle is stuck in some kind of..eternal winter".
"Oops" she the former assassin squeaked.
"Oops is right!" Anna replied "We need to go back, we need to talk to Elsa".
"We've already tried that, might I remind you of the snow monster that is now guarding the palace".
"Yeah I know that, but-"Anna began to retort as John and Kristoff see a white streak appear in both in the redhead's hair.
"Woah!" Kristoff suddenly exclaimed, pointing at their heads "Look at your hair!".
John's brows furrowed in concern as he saw what Kristoff was talking about, it started from the base of Amelia hair, in the neat partition in the middle a thin streak seemed to grow down the former assassin's hair to the end.
"What! I just fell off a cliff! And she literally jumped off it!" she added pointing at Amelia "You should see your hair!".
"No, they're turning white" John point out gently picks out the thin piece of her hair that had changed color to show the end of it to the former assassin.
"White?" Amelia echoed in fear. as she felt her heart skip a beat.
"It's because she struck you both, isn't it?" Krsitoff tells them.
"Does it look bad?" Anna asks him.
There was a pause before Kristoff finally answered them both "No".
"You hesitated" Olaf quickly points out the them.
"No I didn't" he argues before eyeing both Anna and Amelia in grave concern. He glanced over at the Captain that kept his eyes on the the latter, he had just found her again "You both need help. Okay? Come on" he says as he starts leading them off.
"Okay!" Olaf exclaims "Where are we going?".
"To see my friends" Krsitoff informs them as Sven nuzzles his head into Amelia's side, as if he was trying to give her some more comfort.
"The love experts?" Anna asks him.
"Love experts!" the snowman once again excitedly exclaims.
"Uh-huh. And don't worry, they'll be able to fix this" Kristoff confidently tells them.
"How do you know?" Amelia ask from in between Sven and John.
"Because I've seen them do it before".
"I like to consider myself as a love expert" Olaf adds as they follow Krsitoff to the 'love experts' that will help the redheads.
The white streaks had grown on former assassin's head as she found herself getting colder by the minute. While Olaf's on Sven's back lead the group with Kristoff and Anna not too far behind, Amelia and John had found themselves walking together as she tried to retain any body heat she was managing to give off by closing up her lilac robe tighter against her.
"Look Sven. The sky's awake" he says in awe as he looks up at the lights that lite up the night sky, that seemed to dace in delicate green waves above them. She'd never seem lights like these before in her entire life. She'd never been this far north before, even on her adventures with Romeo on the Jackdaw. They seems to be unique to the skies here and no where else.
"You cold?" John's voice brought her out of her thought's.
"A little" she admitted to the sea Captain.
"Here" he says taking off his brown leather jacket that he wore everywhere.
"No-" she tried to protest only him to drape the jacket around her shoulders, leaving him a dark blue version of the shirt that Kristoff was wearing.
"It's fine. I run a little warm anyway" he says placing one of Amelia's cold hands on his forehead, he was right as she felt the comforting warmth that came off him. The thumb started to run the spot between his eyebrows trying to get them to relax.
"Stop being so worried, it's nothing" she tried to reassure his concern as his eyes went over the white hair that had grown since they had jumped off the cliff. It was true he did give off a little more heat than anyone else she had been close. It was nice. Comforting. Familiar.
"Not bad Cap" she muses as she slides it down his face to rest it on the base of his neck as she felt his pulse beating underneath the warm skin.
"Johnathan!" Olaf's voice brought then out of the trance they found themselves in making them pull apart.
"Johnathan?" she inquires with as they continue continue to follow the others walking past warm steam vents that came from the ground.
"Yeah I know, I know" he grumbles to himself "He keeps calling me that".
"It's cute" she comments making the corner of his lips quirk up "I like the boots by the way" she tells the Captain looking at the deep maroon boots that he now wore on his feet instead of the old brown pair that were starting to fall apart.
"Oh yeah?" he replied with a charming smile.
"They suit you" she says as they come to a stop. Kristoff stands in front of them with a several round rocks surrounding him.
"Meet my family" he announces to the others before turning to the rocks a waving to them "Hey guy's!".
"They're rocks" Anna drawled out as they all looked at the ice harvester dumbfounded at what they were seeing.
"We're gonna die aren't we?" Amelia whispers to them as the man continues to greet every rock with Sven joining him.
"He's crazy" Olaf whispers up at them.
"Hey. woh. I didn't even recognize you. You've lost so much weight".
"I'll distracts them while you two run" Olaf says as he steps forward to join in with the greetings "Hi. Sven's family! It's nice to meet you" he says in la loader voice before whispering again "Because I love you both. I insist you run".
"He's got a point" Amelia quietly tells the Princess as John continued to watch in horror as Amelia's life was currently hung on the balance with...rocks.
"I understand you're love experts. Woah" he tells the rocks "Why aren't you running?" he whispers back once again. Amelia quickly nudged the princess making her look at the woman that tried to help her sister. Amelia gave a pointed glare towards Krsitoff, telling her that it had to be her to tell him they were leaving.
"Uh..okay. Well, we're gonna go" Anna tells the man.
"No,no,no! Wait!" he protests as the rocks started to move on their on accord. The former assassin and the Captain barely got out of the way as more 'rock's rolled into the clearing until they 'popped' out of their rock form to revel themselves as trolls.
"Kristoff's home!" they all cheered out.
"Kristoff's home!" Olaf echoed until he realized what they called the blonde man in the center "Wait. Kristoff?"
The former assassin marveled at what she was seeing, they ranged from big to small as they even tried to strip Kristoff of his clothes.
"No! I'm...I'm gonna keep my clothes on. Look, it's great to see you all, but where is Grand Pabbie?" he asks some of the younger trolls.
"He's napping" they informed them as they all tried to tell him what they had been doing since he last visited them. showing him mushrooms on their back and a crystal. She had only heard about them from the bedtime stories her mother used to tell her. They ranged from giants in the sky to trolls living under bridges, even magical rock trolls that living in the forest.
"Trolls. They're trolls" Anna blurted out gaining their attention. She felt John's hand slip into hers as the clearing went deadly silent as Kristoff's family saw them.
"He brought a girl and some friends!" on of the yelled out in excitement.
"A girl!" they all chorused as they literally picked the three humans up and bring them into the center with Kristoff. John's hand never left Amelia's as they seemed to both cling onto each other hoping they wouldn't be separated only for their hands to slip out of the others.
"What's going on?" Anna asks the ice piker once they reached the center.
"I've learnt to just roll with it" Kristoff tells them one of trolls' see's the way John and Amelia were looking at each-other as one of them grabs a hold of Anna's face.
"Oh, look at this lovely couple here, you could learn a thing or two from them Kristoff" the troll tells him.
"Oh what we-" John starts.
"We aren't-" the former assassin tries to tell the trolls they weren't a couple.
"That's what they all say" she quickly brushed off their denial.
"You've got the wrong idea" Kristoff argues "That's not why I brought them here".
"What's the issues dears?" the trolls speak to Anna and Amelia "Why are you holding back from such a man?. Is it the clumpy way he walks?".
"Or the grumpy way they talk?" another troll asks them.
"No" Amelia speaks up trying to defend John "I like the way he talks".
"Or the pear shaped, square-shaped weirdness of his feet?" a troll asks as they picked one of Krsitoff's and John's feet.
"Hey!" the men protested putting their foot back onto the ground.
"And though we know he washes well he always ends up sorta smelly" they say holding up on arm each.
"But you'll never meet a fella who's as sensitive and sweet" they say as the trolls climb up both men and hold their body in a way so that forced them to smile.
"So they're a bit of a fixer upper, but this we're certain of. You can fix this fixer upper up with a little bit of love" the trolls tell them as they shove Kristoff and John towards Anna and Amelia. John's hands instantly found the former assassin's waist as his face hovers over her's as their eyes once again find them selves unable to look away.
"Can we please stop talking about this?" Kristoff tells his family as Amelia pulls herself out of John's warm touch as the troll continued around them as she walked away from the clearing turning her back to the trolls as John watched in heartbreak as the woman he loved walked away from him yet again.
She much as she wanted to, as mush as she want that pull the take her to him, she couldn't give him a life on the run.
"Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Enough!" John interrupts the troll around him having heard enough "She can't love me" John desperately tells them before they all huddle together.
"So shes' a bit of a fixer upper" a troll starts their quiet discussion.
"That's a minor thing" another one shrugs off.
"The word 'can't' is very flexible." another says.
"She didn't say she didn't love him" a younger troll points out to them.
Feeling a tug on the end of her robe she looked down to see a rock troll on the ground waving her down so they they could speak to her "We aren't saying you can change him cause people don't really change. We're only saying that love's a force that powerful and strange. People make bad choices if they're mad or scared or stressed. But throw a little love their way, and you'll bring out their best. True love bring out the best".
Before she knew it the former assassin was being dragged back into the center as a cape and head dress was being placed on her had and shoulders until she was deposited back next to Anna. Across the way they saw Kristoff and John dressed the same way only with a crown of twigs on his head making the former assassin laugh at him as the trolls quickly dug a large hole in the ground before they were literally thrown into it.
Amelia landed on her feet next to John, more rock trolls seems to come from nowhere as one stepped out of the crowd with a book in his hands.
"Do you Anna, Amelia, take Kristoff and John. to be you troll fully wedded..".
"Wait what?!" the women exclaim.
"You're getting married" he tells them before Amelia feels a stabbing sensation in her heart making her double over in pain before she collapses in John's awaiting arm catches her against his chest.
"They're cold as ice" Kristoff tell the trolls as John looks over to see that same had happened to Anna as another troll rolls in stopping at the edge of the hole the two couples were in.
"There is strange magic here" Grand Pabbie says seeing the two young women in front of him "Come come, Bring them to me" he tells the men as they follow his instructions. Helping the assassin the captain guided her towards the rock troll who take one of her hand into his as he takes Anna's in the other.
"Anna. Amelia, you lives are in danger" he tells the pair "There is ie in both your hearts, put there by your sister" he says glancing towards Anna. Taking her hand out of the trolls she sinks into John's warm chest as the troll continues "If not removed, to solid ice will you freeze, forever".
"But you can remove it right?" John asks the elder troll.
"I cannot. I'm sorry. If it was their head that would be easy, but only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart".
"An act of true love?".
"True love's kiss, perhaps?" a troll asks as Amelia and Anna collapse once again as more of their hair turns white only leaving a few patches of red hair left that had been left untouched by the curse.
There was no true love for her. The last true love died three months ago. She was going to die.
"Anna, we've got to get you back to Hans" Kristoff tells her. He was her true love, he would save her.
"Hans" she weakly repeats.
"Pull us out, Sven" at that the reindeer let the man use his antler to take his owner and Anna out of the deep hole, leaving John and Amelia behind.
"Olaf! Come on!" Kristoff called after the snowman.
The snowman seemed to hesitate as he looked back at John who was barely keeping it together knowing that it was only a matter of hours until he lost the woman in his arms.
"It's okay we'll be right behind you" John tells him plastering a gentle smile on his face.
"Bye Johnathan".
"Bye Olaf" John tells the snowman before the latter runs towards the reindeer.
"Tell me child do you have anyone?" Grande Pabbie asks the weakening young woman "Any family?" the redhead remained silent as curled herself into John's chest.
"Her father died three months ago" John tells him as he felt his heart break.
"Oh" he says as he gets a closer look at the woman in his arms. There was something about her he couldn't put his finger on. "Tell me, what was your father's last name?".
"Montague" Amelia answers him.
"And you mothers?".
"Capulet" she whispers as her eye's droop from the fatigue that had set into her bones as she tried to nestle herself deeper into John's warm chest.
"Star-crossed lovers" he mutters to himself "A child born from two warring sides. Your parent's love is one of the purest to ever seem in the Enchanted Forest, my dear. Did you ever wonder why the Brotherhood take no wives and father no children" Amelia shook her head at him.
"Love is the death of duty. You are only human Amelia. So were your parents. The gods have fashioned us for love. It's our greatest glory, and our greatest tragedy" the elder wasn't sure if the young woman had heard him as the former assassin barely gave the elder some acknowledgment "Rest now Amelia. your Captain will keep you safe".
With some help from the rock trolls the Captain had gotten himself and the woman he loved out of the hole the troll had dug, taking them to a more secluded part of the forest, the troll allowing him the privacy he needed to say goodbye to the woman in his arms. He found a flat rock to sit himself on as he sat Amelia on his lap as he held her as tight as he could as she slept.
It would only be a matter of time now. She seemed to accept that she wasn't going to survive this, but he didn't want to give up just yet. There had to be a way to save her.
He was taken out his thought went he felt her shift, making him see her eyes flutter open as more red hair disappeared.
"Hey" he gently greeted the dozy woman.
"Sorry" she almost whispered "I fell asleep didn't I?" she breathed out.
"It's fine, you need to rest" he tells her.
"Mmm" she hummed as her eye's closed one again "We should've stayed in the Godspeed".
"You think so?".
"It's the only other ship I've ever felt at home in".
"What was the other one?".
"The Jackdaw. Fastest ship in the realms" she lazily drawled out.
"Not including the Godspeed right?" he teased her a smile. She didn't reply this time "I can take you back if you want" he gulped "If that's where you want, not out here. Somewhere warm" the only answer he got from her is a nod before she rested her head on his chest again as her eye's once again drooped closed. He needed to get her out of here.
"Well, aren't we in a bit of pickle here dearie" a shrill voice followed by a chorus of giggles was heard from right in front of him making his snap up to see a man with gold glittered skin and long straggly hair.
"Who are you?" he said holding the woman tighter to himself.
"Rumplestilksin" he introduced himself to the Captain rolling the 'r' as he bowed at him "At your service" he finished as he looked at the woman in his arms.
"Go away" John demanded out of the stranger only for his demand to got ignored by the man as he look a closer look at Amelia.
It was her alright. His very own niece. His sister's own daughter that laid out dying in the Captains arms, he would've missed it if it hadn't been for the small bit of red hair that had once belonged to his older sister Juliet.
"My, my dearie, what have we here. A wee assassin lass a long way from home" he went to touch her ice cold cheek only for the Captain to slap it away.
"Don't touch her" he almost growled out his blue eyes meeting the Dark One's. He saw the protectiveness that came over the Captain's face. He loved her, it was easy to see in the way he reacted. The Captain's outburst only made another flurry of giggles to come out of the Dark One's lips.
"Temper dearie, that might get you in trouble one day" he warns the man "Luckily for you I'm not here just for you. I'm here to help her" he says pointing at Amelia.
"How?".
"I will provide you with the fastest steed in all the realms to get her to your precious Godspeed in time to keep your promise, but be warned all magic comes with a price dearie".
"Why do you want to save her?".
"Let's just say. I'm invested in her future" he tells her as he giggles again. As he see's the cogs working behind his eyes as he thought through his offer.
"What's your price?".
"Oh its simple, if you find a way to save her today, you two will be able to go on merry little way on that wee boat of your's, but one day her past will finally catch up to you and all you would have to do to help her now is to simply not fight, what needs to happen".
"Don't fight?".
"Yes!" he exclaimed as he giggled at him "Don't fight let her become the person she needs to be to fight those who have wronged her family in the past".
A small price to pay if it meant he got to save her now.
"Deal" John states making the Dark One manically giggle as he waved his hand as he disappears in a ploom of dark red smoke only for him to be replaced by a pure white horse with with a saddle and reins.
"I'm getting you home Amy" he says to her as he gentle placed her onto the saddle before climbing up behind her, he didn't hesitate as he pushed the horse into a full sprint back towards the docks leaving Rumpelstiltskin to watch his niece and her Captain sprint away.
"See you soon Amelia" his giggles echoed through the forest as he disappeared in a ploom of red smoke ready to put in place the next part of his plan of the creation of the Black Widow.
He didn't stop until he saw the Godspeed's mast in sight, still anchored at the docks, still stood upright unlike the other ships that had gotten caught up in Elsa's ice storm. Rumpelstiltskin's deal was true to his word as it felt like he and Amelia were flying down the mountains to the outskirts of Arendelle until they had finally arrived back at the docks were they had parted ways only days ago.
The cobbled stones had a thick layering of frost on them as he pulled the rein of the horse to make it stop just in front of the gangplank that would take them back to the ship that started it all only three months ago.
Still semi-conscious he held the former assassin by her waist as she clung onto his arm as they hobbled towards the place she called her home getting steps closer to the Godspeed only for the Captain to hear a number of boots behind him thudding against the wooden structure.
"HALT!" a voice boomed out over the frozen fjord making the Captain freeze. Turning around he saw the man that had tried to kill Elsa in the courtyard, in his long robe similar to the lilac set Amelia wore over the coat dress with a hood obscuring his face from view. He didn't need to see his face to know who it was. Claudius. And he was flanked by a half-dozen soldiers in black and red behind him.
"Hand her over and we'll let you leave with your head" Claudius tells the young Captain as they came to a stop in front of them.
"Not to you" John tells him keeping a firm grip on the weak redhead.
"You don't want this fight lad. Your first-mate did and now his body rots in your ship" hearing this made the Captain stiffen hearing this "He fought with honor, he used his last breath to keep you and lass safe".
With his grief getting the better of him he stepped forward with a clenched fist only to be pulled back by the former Assassin that held onto him.
"John" he hears his name being being called next to him. His eyes met hers as she looked up at him "There's nothing they can do that they haven't already done. Let me go" she tells him.
"I'd listen to her lad" his voice rang through his ears as if it was the sound of the last nail on Amelia's coffin.
"No" he tried to ague but his protest didn't come out strong as he needed them to be "I promised you I'd get you to the Godspeed".
"And you have, we're here aren't we?" she says knowing the home she had unknowingly found was mere feet away and not up in the mountains "I can't repay you back for the things you've done for me over the last few months. Let me repay you by letting you walk away from this with your life. Let me keep you safe this time".
John's head fell forward in defeat as Amelia mustered all the strength to take his head into her hands as she placed her forehead against his as she repeated the words that Grand Pabbie had said about her parents.
"Love is the death of duty. Its our greatest glory and our greatest tragedy. I.." she caught herself from saying the next seven letters that sat on the tip of her tongue that would ruin them both in that moment only for her old mentor's voice to break the moment.
"Take her" at that two solider took the former assassin away from her Captain.
"Throw her in there for now with the other one" Anna faintly heard the voice coming through the door as she lie on the floor shivering from the cold in the room Han's had locked her in after his unseen betrayal to take Arendelle from her and Elsa.
The door to the room closed and locked again as quickly as it was opened for something to fall beside her. Forcing her eyes open she recognized the person that been thrown into the room with her.
"Lia.." she could only whimper out seeing the woman that had tried to save her sister, her shoulder length hair now completely white like hers probably was now.
"Anna" Amelia stammered out as her body shook "What happened? Why are you still like this".
"Han's" the princess simply told her "He only wanted Arendelle, he never loved me. He's going to kill Elsa".
"Bastard" the former Assassin spat out making the princess let out a chuckle out of her expense "I'm sorry" she tells her not knowing what else to do to help.
"You know" Amelia started as she moved herself closer to the girl "You remind me of someone" she says taking Anna's hands in hers.
"I do?".
"Y-yeah. She's a Princess like you. She's a little naive to the world around her and a little spoiled".
"Thanks" the princess interrupted her making the pair laugh through the shivering "Now I feel worse".
"Sorry" she apologized "But she has a good heart. I think one day with the right push she has the potential be a great leader, and even a great Queen one day if she opened her eye's up just a little bit. Han's never defined you Anna. Only you can do that. There's still time for someone to save you. You just need to open your eyes a little bit".
Returning to the Godspeed. Claudius's words spoke true as he found his first-mate's body in the crew's quarters surrounded by the others who had tried to help him only to succumb to his injures sustained by the Master Assassin. First he had taken the woman he had fallen in love with now, the man who was the closest thing he had to a real father, after his own abandoned his mother soon after he was born.
Now bruises covered his face as the blood had dried over the spot he was fatally stabbed in above his heart. "What do we do now Captain?" one of the boys that had found a home on the ship asked him.
He didn't know. They were literally frozen in ice with no way to escape the kingdom. They were literally surrounded by enemies. For the first time in a while he was at a loss of what to do. His crew was his first priority now, but he couldn't stop thinking of what they had done to Amelia.
"Captain!" a crew mate called out to him making his look back to the man with a telescope in his hand "You need to see this".
Following the his crew he reached the top deck to be handed a telescope to see Elsa inside the fresh snow storm that was growing by the minute when he caught sight of someone following her. The stocky figure fought against the gale winds as he stalked the Ice Queen over the frozen fjord ready to strike when he got close enough to end this enteral winter with one strike of his hidden blade.
His grief and anger seemed to take over his mind as he rushed to his cabin to grab his sword that was in it's place propped up against the wall next to the door before walking off the ship and jumping down onto the ice and ran as fast as he could towards the man that had caused so much grief in so little time.
No one else he cared about was going to die today.
She didn't how long she had spent on the floor holding Anna's cods hand in her own numb ones when they heard someone on the other side.
"Anna! Amelia!" he exclaimed seeing the pair "Oh no" he says seeing the fireplace out, quickly making his stubbly move her got to work throwing fresh wood into the fireplace only to accidentally throw his own twig arm into it making him shriek in horror quickly retrieving it and placing it back on his torso before striking match to light up the fireplace for Anna and Amelia.
"Olaf?" Amelia's voice croaked seeing the snowman in front of the roaring fire "Olaf get away from there" she tells him as he continues to look into the fire in awe.
"Whoa! So this is heat. I love it" he says to himself as he leans in closer to the flame holding out a hand towards the flame only for it catch on fire "Ooh but don't touch it!" he tells the quickly putting it out before going back to the pair to help them get closer to the fire "So where's Han's? What happened to you kiss?".
"I was wrong about him. It wasn't true love" Anna tells him in disappointment.
"But we ran all the way here?" he reminds her still stood in front of the fire.
"Please Olaf, you can't stay here, you'll melt".
"I am not leaving here until we find some other act of true love to save you" the snowman says as he sits behind Anna and Amelia to shield himself from the fire "Do you happen to have any ideas?".
"I don't even know what love is".
"That's okay, I do. Love is putting someone's else's needs before your own. Like, you know how Kristoff brought you back here to Han's and left you forever.
"Kristoff loves me?" Anna suddenly realizes before looking at Amelia "Did you know?" she asks the former assassin.
"Well..."Amelia trailed off not knowing what else to say.
"What about John?! he's clearly in love with you" she accuses her.
"I know" Amelia tells her "I've known since he returned my gauntlets back to me".
"Then why didn't you say anything?".
"I don't know" Amelia tells her.
"Wow, you two really don't know anything about love, do you?" Olaf interrupts them as his head starts to melt making him push his carrot nose back into place.
"Olaf you're melting" the Princess tells him.
"Some people are worth melting for" he tells them as he face starts to warp making him to try and hold his face back into place "Just maybe not right this second" he says just as the window in the room burst open allowing the icy wind coming into the room making the two young women trying to get warm shiver even more "Don't worry, I've got it" he says rushing to the window to close it only to see something in the distance.
Breaking an icicle off the window he fashions it into a telescope to see Kristoff and Sven sprinting towards the castle with no sign of slowing down.
"It's Kristoff and Sven! They're coming back this way" he announces to the Princess behind him.
"They..they are?" Anna asked the snowman.
"Wow he's moving really fast. I guess I was wrong. I guess Kristoff doesn't love you enough to leave you behind "he says before he sees something else.
"Hold on" moving it along the snowman spots John with a sword in his hand fighting a man in a robe with their own sword in a fierce duel. "Johnathan's fighting a really scary man"
"Scary man?" Amelia says as she pushes herself onto her feet to join the snowman at the window. Blinking her sixth sense on her vision zeroed on a one-on-one sword fight between her former Mentor and her Captain in the middle of the frozen fjord.
"Damn it John" she seethes at the man before she pushes down the way she felt as she headed straight for the open door leaving Anna and Olaf behind to find the man she loved before he did something even more stupid.
The palace was freezing around her as she stumbled her way through the endless corridors until she reached the ballroom where she first saw Claudius in Arendelle seeking out Elsa's assistance as the reigning monarch to search for her only to come into contact with the Templar Duke and other Duke behind him.
"It's her! Seize her!" the small duke ordered his men only for her stride not to break as she easily as the brutes took out swords. As she approached the first one that had reaches her to easily parry it swing before kick out his standing foot with the back of her heel sending him face first into the dance floor as she used her momentum to swing her right foot around to land a heavy kick to the mans face, knocking him out before the faced the other brute.
The second one simply froze in fear before quickly dropping his sword onto the floor and holding up his hands in surrender "Good move" she tells him before carrying on with her mission to get to her Captain.
Her fight wasn't over though as she saw out of the corner of her eye the brute picking his sword off the ground before running at her. Slipping a small throwing knife from it's place she quickly whirled around to throw the knife into the mans' shoulder rendering his sword arm useless as he cried out in pain to fall onto his knee's.
"No second chances" the Duke of Weselton heard the young woman mutter to herself as he could no nothing but watch her leave.
The ice under her feet seemed slicker somehow as she forced her feet forward through the blizzard that whirled around her. Her white hair whipped around her as she caught sight on her hands that were literally starting to freeze over her fingertips. No wonder she couldn't feel them anymore.
The sound of swords clanging together was what she followed as she caught sight of her Captain and her old Mentor still in fierce battle as Elsa stood by doing her best to stay on her own feet as she heard a sword hitting the ice before it slid across before stopping at her boot covered feet.
Looking up she saw John on his knee's as Claudius loomed over him with his own sword poised over the man that thought that could take him on "You should've stayed on your ship!" he yells at the young Captain ready to end his pathetic life with the tip of his sword placed on the man's chest where is heart was only to feel a another presence behind him.
"Amelia Montague" he growled as he turned around the face her. The last name sounded foreign to her, she'd never had a last name before "You have been named after your father's treasonous acts against the Brotherhood" he said as he took threatening steps towards her.
"Look how desperate you've made me Amelia!" her old Mentor shouted through the wind "Working with the Templar's instead of fighting them, over a girl that shouldn't even exist in the first place! You've given me no choice!".
"I Claudius, Mentor of the Brotherhood of Assassin's!" he yelled as he heavily brought down his sword onto her's only for it snap back as she could barely hold onto the sword in her hand as she felt her energy quickly depleting, as she felt frost creeping up her legs.
"I strip you of your rank of Master Assassin!" he heavily strikes her sword once again making the younger woman fall onto her knee's as she tried to hold her sword above her head
"And sentence you to die!" with one final blow the sword finally fell from her hand as she now knelt before her former mentor completely at his mercy.
The pair paused as the blizzard around them suddenly stopped around as she realized that this was going to be her end.
"May peace be upon you Amelia" he says throwing his sword to the ground before throwing his right arm arm out to trigger his hidden blade, the same one that had split her own father's blood three months ago "You will need it where you'll be going".
The frozen fjord surrounding the kingdom of Arendelle was once again calm and still as Claudius poised his hidden blade to strike her heart as a figure barreled into him, she was too numb to move as John and Claudius tumbled into the heap, her limbs failed to move as her old mentor managed to get the Captain onto back. A flash of a hidden blade made her heart jump into her mouth as the male assassin reached up ready to send it into the Captain's heart.
"NOOOOOO!" she screamed at the top of her lungs as threw Claudius's discarded sword towards the older man the blade hitting it's mark as it impaled the assassin's back making him stiffen on top of the Captain.
The blade never came as John opened his eyes to see Claudius suddenly slump forward as he see's the pommel of the sword that has stopping him landing his killing blow as strangled breaths left the man's mouth before stopping all together.
Pushing the assassin off him, the dead weight hitting the ice with a light thud as a relieved breath left his lung as he sat up to see that they were alive.
Amelia had saved him. An act of true love.
"No" he whispered seeing Amelia's completely frozen state her entire body encased in blue in shimmering, glistening ice as her once emerald eyes stared right back "No,no,no!" the other's heard with Anna freshly thawed out as they whirled around to see John struggling to get his footing on the ice as he rushed to the frozen statue that had taken Amelia's place as he stood up on his knee's in front of her frozen form.
"Amy" he called out to her as he cupped her frozen cheeks in his hands "Amy, don't do this now, not now" he pleaded to her as his eyes shimmered in his eyes "You can't leave" he begged the frozen statue only to get silence in return.
"John..." he heard Elsa's sweet voice say as she held onto Anna even tighter than before "I'm so sorry".
The tears finally fell, she was gone. He was too late.
"But it was an act of true love" Kristoff voiced "Why didn't it work?" he added as Anna's eye's widened as a thought came to her .
"Because it wasn't the right one" Anna says looking at the Captain "You haven't tried one yet" Anna realized "True loves kiss. She loves you John, she let herself be frozen to save you. but you can still save her, it's not too late".
He didn't think it would work. But at least he'd be able to say goodbye to the woman he loved, even if he couldn't hear him.
"I love you Amelia" he whispered to the frozen former assassin before placing his lips on her frozen one. The second his lips touches the ice a burst of light magic emitted from their lips making the his and the other's hair whip up as it rippled in the air making the Captain pull away from her frozen state.
The seconds dragged as the ice started to thaw from her heart slowly spreading outward as the rest of her torso started to thaw. He felt like he couldn't breathe as the last bit of ice thawed from her hair reveling the fire kissed hair underneath, her body sagging forward only to be caught by her Captain as he held her as tight as he could as he felt the healthy warmth of her body.
Pulling herself out of the embrace the former assassin looked upon tha man she loved with her green eyes meeting his as he saw the love he held for her as clear as day for the second time.
This is what Grand Pabbie spoke of what he spoke of her parents love, this is what her father was to risk for when he met her mother, when they had her. Fro the first time in months as her mind racked around the notion, she finally understood her father's acts, because in the end it was all worth it.
"I love you too Cap" the declaration felt like a weight off her shoulder as a watery smile grew on her Captain's lips hearing the words he had been wanting to hear from the woman he had fallen in love with so quickly as he closed the distance between their lips this time feeling her warm lips against his she tried to pour out every once of affection she had for the man in front of her.
Suddenly, Elsa drew in a sharp gasp, pulling away from her sister as a strange smile slowly crept across her face "That's it..." Elsa whispered, her blue eyes lighting up with excitement "Love!".
Through the power of true love that she shared with her sister, Elsa was finally about to let go her fear, undoing the icy spell she had unknowingly cast upon her kingdom she restored the bright, warm summer once again. Only for Olaf to start melting from the heat, Elsa quickly remedied the situation by creating a permanent snow flurry the sat above his head, keeping him from melting again.
Returning to her castle the Queen got down to business as she set out to ban Prince Han's from her kingdom as well as the Duke of Weselton. Declaring that Arendelle would no longer do business with people who associated themselves with the Templar Order, or the Southern Isles, having them escorted out of kingdom never to return.
The only downside was that when they went to find Claudius's body, it wasn't there. Which meant he was still alive and out there ready to hunt her down again. The discovery only sped up her's and John's departure from Arendelle as the redhead knew that he would return with more allies by his side to take her turning down's Elsa's offer to refuge them.
After a compromise of a small ceremony in the chapel before they left, the Queen her sister and the palace's new Ice Master and Deliverer saw them off on the Godspeed ready to start their life as man and wife. They would come back and visit at some point, as the kingdom now held a special place in both their hearts forever.
Being in normal clothes didn't feel as strange as she first thought as she put the last of her old life safely tucked away in a trunk that was supplied by Elsa and Anna. Her lilac robes had been cleaned and tailored by the local seamstress before she tucking it into the bottom of the crocuses covered trunk. Next was sheathe that carried her throwing knives. And finally the brown leather gauntlets that her father had given to her once she reached the rank of novice.
It felt like a lifetime ago, but in reality it was only five years ago. She hesitate putting them away as she sat herself on the cabin floor she now shared with John as her fingers went over the orate metal work that covered the leather that were made specifically for a female assassin to wield, bringing the pair of gauntlets that have been through hell and back with her to her lip's, she placed a delicate kiss on the metal work as she thought back to the moment he gave them to her.
It was the happiest moment of her life at that point.
"Goodbye Romeo" she whispers to them before nestling them into her lilac robes, closing the lid. Never to be opened again.
Standing up from the floor she wiped away the stray tears that had fallen from her eyes as she found herself looking to a small mirror that hung from wall. Her eyes went straight to the fringe that covered her forehead, making her reach up to gently brush her finger through them as she takes in her new 'look'.
Swapping her brotherhood robes for a simple long white dress that went down to the floor with a black apron that covered the front of her dress that was tied around the small of her back while her hair was neatly pinned back down her back. But the most odd was the new ring that comfortably sat on her wedding finger. It wasn't anything fancy. It was made on the spot when they realized that having a reindeer and a talking snowman as your groomsman wasn't the best idea her Captain had ever had.
Icy vein's ran through the silver rings as they sat on their respective owner's wedding finger as they set with full sails to wherever the winds would take them.
Leaving their cabin she found her husband and true love at the wheel next to his new first mate discussing their course. Upon seeing her, John's eye's lit up as his new first mate left his side.
"So, I may have told someone about you" John announced to his new bride from the ships wheel.
"Oh yeah?" she says as she joins him feeling his arm wrap around her waist as the other steadily held the wheel in place "What did you say exactly?".
"How lucky I am to have someone as beautiful as you to marry me" he said nuzzling his nose into her neck leaving a sweet kiss on her pulse point.
"Well, I wouldn't argue with that" she chuckles out making him pull away.
"I also I told him we would meet him at a tavern back home when we would need a re-supply"
"John" she started still wary of the Brotherhood's influence in the Enchanted Forest, despite Claudius's disappearance, that wouldn't meant they were completely safe from the others.
"It'll be fine" he tried to reassure her "Elsa's given us enough supply for a non stop voyage for the next three months. So that means three whole months of non stop adventures with a couple of stop-offs in between" he promised her.
"And what do you have in mind to occupy that time at sea?" she coyly asked him with a tight lipped smirk, already knowing exactly what he had in mind.
"I can think of a few things" he hummed to his wife as he bent down to kiss her full on the lips onto for his hand to drag the wheel to he right, making ships unexpectedly turn making it tilt at the sudden imbalance.
"Easy Captain!" the crew protected up to their Captain making him pull away from her to steady the ship back on course.
"Sorry!" he yelled down before the couple laughed at his small gaff. She couldn't wait to see what their future had in store for them as they sailed into their happy ending.
AN: Should have probably put this earlier in the story but for a visual of Amelia's gauntlets look up 'Assassin's Creed 2 Ezio hidden blade'
And for her lilac robes look up 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate Outfits Lady Melyne's Gown'.
