Chapter 239
Nobodies POV:
Akuhei sat in his throne with his eyes closed in patience while the roots in the wall, slowly pumping the lifeforce of the land into him in order to help him return to his full power. Akuhei breathed silently while feeling his power slowly return before his peace was ruined by the sound of footsteps rushing towards him and opened his eyes to see the hooded figure who brought him back. He glared at the figure when he noticed his uneasy stature and knew it meant that the figure had news that he was not looking forward to delivering. With an annoyed sigh, Akuhei looked at his minion and asked.
"What news do you bring?"
"Forgive me master but I have just received word that Hinote, the Karura you sent to end Hiccup Haddock has been defeated while his power was taken over by the spirits of the dragons he feasted on and formed a suit of armor for the nightfury that Hiccup rides and this armor possess' great power." Akuhei squeezed his fists in anger. "Master, I mean no disrespect, but I believe it best to leave Hiccup Haddocks family and home alone."
"Are you claiming I should forget about taking revenge on Hiccup Haddock?" The figure quickly shook his head.
"No master, I am trying to say that it may be best to first regain all your strength before taking your revenge." Akuhei growled but nodded.
"You may be right but knowing the kitsune that I once called my beloved, she'll be there to pick Hiccup Haddock up and bring him to these lands." Before the hooded figure could reply, a voice from the shadows said.
"And I am looking forward to it." Both men turned to the shadows where the voice came from but Akuhei let out a small chuckle.
"As expected of you, lurking in the shadows little spider."
A figure walked out of the shadows to reveal a woman wearing a sleeveless black mini Komodo that had a short skirt that reached above her knees and with white spider web patterns on the shoulders and a large red spider on the back, Japanese slipper like shoes, a spider shaped pin with a ruby abdomen in her hair. What drew the most attention were her blood red eyes that seemed to stare into your very soul and the four legs that were coming out of her back, with two wrapping around on either shoulder with the other four wrapping around her waist. She walked up to the throne and bowed as she said.
"Is that not wanted me to learn by having me study under your ninja my lord." He nodded.
"I am surprised you returned."
"My loyalty belongs to you and you alone my lord after all," She looked up and smiled. "you helped me surpass my original capabilities and helped me to become the deadliest hunter of my species." He smiled.
"And this is why I wish for you to deal with Hiccup Haddock but by the sounds of things, you would do so even if I did not order you to do so." The woman frowned and clenched her fists while glaring at the ground.
"He killed my sister and her offspring including those who had yet to be hatched from their eggs." She clenched her teeth to reveal fangs. "That human needs to become an example to the rest of his species as to what happens when you mess with jorogumo." Akuhei smimed.
"Your thirst for blood is as impressive as ever." He then pointed behind the woman who was revealed to be a jorogumo. "Go and bring me the head of Hiccup Haddock." She nodded before speeding off while the hooded figure turned to Akuhei and asked.
"I take it you have faith in her abilities my lord." Akuhei nodded.
"She trained under the five ninja that I enslaved for three decades and to add onto that she has the burning desire for revenge against Hiccup Haddock." He leaned back into his throne while smiling. "Hiccup Haddock shall not have an easy time dealing with her and even if she falls in battle, it shall still be time that has been bought for me to regain my power." He then took a breath. "Now go and find more yokai to feed my power and continue to spread word that I have returned so those who are truly loyal to me can return to my service." He nodded and took off to follow his master's orders.
Morning
Hiccups POV:
I was making my way down the path through a forest, riding on my kappa shell helmet while looking around at the landscape and had to say, I did not like this place. The reason for wasn't of the scenery since it was a lovely forest with rich yellow leaves covering both the branches of the trees and the ground I was flying over. No, the thing that I did not like about this forest was the place was crawling with spiders and by that I mean I couldn't look in any direction without seeing one on a web, branch, leaf or whatever there was. Along with that I couldn't even take a step on the ground without disturbing some spiders that were resting beneath them and this is why I was using my kappa shell helmet instead of walking. As for the spiders, it wasn't that I was afraid of them or anything, it just reminded me of the jorogumo I faced and that is why I was keeping my guard up since I knew Akuhei might try sending something after me.
It was then I was brought out of my thoughts when I noticed a glimmer in the suns light between the trees ahead of him and blocking his path and he quickly stopped a foot away from it. Hiccup lifted his kappa shell helmet and placed it back into his weapons sash while examining the thing that caught the light of the sun was a wire and there were a few of them. I knew if I'd flown into them then I'd be sliced and diced in no time flat and looking around, I could see that there were more wires around me that were forming a cage around me. In other words, I'd just stumbled into a trap and as soon as that thought left my mind, I activated my ox flame boots speed mode and ran back just as a thick, black liquid like gas came down on the spot where I was just standing and practically melted the very spot where I was standing. I then heard a feminine giggle from above and heard someone say.
"Impressive, most humans don't even make it out of the range of my poison when I launch it at them." I looked at where the blast came from and saw a woman dressed as a kunoichi jump down from her spot on a tree branch and land on the spot where the poison had hit.
"I take it Akuhei sent you." She nodded and glared at Hiccup.
"To be honest with you, I would have come after you even if my master hadn't ordered it after what took from me." I raised an eyebrow.
"Have we met before?" She glared.
"You took my sister from me." Realization struck me.
"The jorogumo I killed last time I was here was your sister." She nodded.
"I've dreamt of the day I would be able to avenge both her and her little ones and now that time has come." She got into her battle stance. "Prepare to taste defeat human." I got into my own battle stance.
"Not today I'm afraid." With that said we charged at each other.
10 minutes later
Nobodies POV:
Hiccup and the jorogumo who were standing across from each other and neither of them had been able to deliver anything other than a small scratch to the other. Hiccup panted a little and glared at her as she smirked and said.
"You're wasting your time human; I know how to counter every move you make as the ninja who taught you those moves taught them to me over the thirty years, I trained under them." Hiccup growled.
"Just because you've trained under them for longer than I have, it does not make you a better warrior than me." He then smirked. "And unlike you, I didn't stop at just learning the moves of my masters."
He then quickly charged at her again but this time, he had his hands in knife formation and delivered a deadly nadder barb strike against various parts of her body at a speed that made his limbs look like blurs. The moment he stopped the jorogumo dropped to her knees with her limbs being unable to move as Hiccup smirked down at her while she looked up in shock and said.
"I never stopped my training and began studying under the one who trained the ninja who taught us, and he helped me develop my own form of ninjutsu." It was then she gave a cold giggle.
"Do you truly think that I would stop after mastering the style of those five ninja masters." Before Hiccup could reply the spider legs that were on both her shoulders and waist shot out in all directions, but Hiccups reflexes kicked in and he jumped back while the spider legs picked her up. "I've had more than enough time to form my own style of ninjutsu?" Hiccup smirked and rolled his shoulders.
"Then by all means, use it so we can see if your spider ninja style can beat my dragon ninja style."
He then charged at her, but her spider legs bounced towards the nearby trees with her legs catching onto the trunks, dodging his blow in the process before using the legs to launch her body back at him at a high speed. Hiccup immediately dropped to the ground in order to dodge her and watched as she flew over him, but he saw her smirk right before she slammed her two back spider legs down towards Hiccup. Fortunately, Hiccups reflexes were faster, and he pulled his legs up and pulled his body into a tuck and roll, avoiding the legs that created a sizable dent in the ground. Hiccup stopped rolling when he was right beneath the jorogumo's body and quickly thrust his feet up, delivering a hard kick with both feet into the yokai's stomach right before a flaming ox burst out of her back and pulled her back and then began dragging her back. Hiccup threw his legs back up, pulling his body up and landing on his feet, just in time to see the jorogumo slam into a nearby boulder, causing a large indent in the rock. The jorogumo stood up and glared at Hiccup before she smirked and lifted her arms up as she said.
"Mobility has returned to my human limbs Hiccup Haddock." She then held her right arm out while pointing out her index finger. "Now let's see how long you last." She swung her hand down and a single thin thread came out of the tip and went towards Hiccup, leaving a shallow bleeding cut across his cheek. "With my full strength back, you're meat."
She then swung both hands down after releasing her threads, but the eye of the dragon mixed with his ninja training made it possible for Hiccup to both see the wires and dodge them. Hiccup knew he needed a weapon to even things out a bit and pulled out his shadow sickle before he begun swinging the knife by the chain with his left hand and held the sickle in his prosthetic. The jorogumo growled as Hiccup threw the knife at her but she dodged to the side as Hiccup pulled the blade back and threw it again, but she dodged to the side and reached into her shirt. She pulled out four black balls and said.
"Let's see how you handle this mortal."
She threw them at Hiccup who quickly spun the blade around in a circle in front of him at such speed it seemed like a blur to form a shield right before the balls hit it. The moment they struck the chain though the balls shattered letting out a large burst of smoke that completely covered Hiccup and the twelve feet around him in a thick cloud of smoke. Hiccup coughed a bit before closing his eyes and opening up his other senses to try and figure out where his opponent is while switching his prosthetic into plant form so he'd be able to use it to take control of the trees if necessary. He listened for the sound of her feet moving and for the sound of her breathing but didn't hear anything until he heard the sound of wind being cut from above. Hiccup immediately looked up right before a body was slammed into him, pinning him to the ground and before he could react, his arms and legs were pinned by the spider legs of the jorogumo stabbing into his sleeves. The jorogumo smiled down at Hiccup who immediately began to struggle against her while she exposed her fangs to him and asked.
"Any last words Hiccup?" Hiccup stopped struggling as an idea struck him before he smirked at the Jorogumo.
"Just one little piece of advice." He then pointed his prosthetic hand as best he could towards her torso. "Always keep your guard up until your foe is defeated."
As soon as the words left his mouth he turned his hand into a wooden spike and extended it at a highspeed right into her side, easily piercing the skin and the second it was beneath her skin, Hiccup made the roots spread out around her body. He then began channeling a red crystal, igniting the roots and burning the jorogumo from the inside as she screamed and writhed in absolute and unbearable pain. This lasted for three minutes before the jorogumo's skin began glowing orange from the inside before her entire body was engulfed in flames as she let out one last cry as her body turned to ashes. The second her body turned to ash, Hiccup rushed away in order to avoid being covered by the ashes and then smirked down at them as he said.
"Well that's one less spider woman in the world." With that said he picked up his shadow sickle before walking over to the webbing she'd originally set up to kill him and cut it all up, one by one using the blades of his weapon so they couldn't do anyone harm. "I better keep my guard up around here and do a scout of the area for anymore jorogumo, their larger children and possibly a nest." With that said I took off.
Nobodies POV:
After Hiccup took off Asami came out from behind some trees and looked at the ashes that was once the jorogumo and smiled as she said.
"Have to admit, Hiccup has definitely improved as a warrior since even the greatest of warriors were easily defeated by this jorogumo." She leaned down and breathed onto the ashes that slowly gathered before a crystal ball formed around them, holding them all within it. "I'll have to take this to the dragon forge and see if it can be turned into something useful that will help Hiccup in the future." With that said she once again disappeared from the area.
Nightfall
Hiccups POV:
It's been an hour since I got out of the forest and although getting out of it was an easy task, I stayed in longer than necessary since I found a few large spiders that needed to be killed with the smallest being the size of Gobbers head and the biggest being the size of my fathers stomach. Compared to the jorogumo though, they were a piece of cake but then came the time when I found her nest and wanted to throw up since what I saw was horrific to say the least. There were spiders and webs everywhere which was expected of a spider nest but the thing that disgusted me is what was in the webs, which was dried up bodies of people with no eyes and mouths wide open in agony while spiders crawled out of them. I decided to be respectful to those who died and lined up each of the bodies after cutting them down before setting them a blaze while praying that their souls could now rest in peace. After that I set fire to the nest and crushed any spider I saw and made my way down into the nest of the spider to set fire to all the spider eggs I could find. Along the way down the tunnel that had been turned into the nest though, I discovered a side tunnel full of treasures that I'm guessing belonged to the victims. I figured the treasures weren't doing any good in that place gathering dust, so I collected them into my spiderpack, finished burning the nest and left.
Now I was sitting in a large open field where there was little chance of something being able to sneak up on me or use the terrain to their advantage. In front of me was a roaring fire with a fish on a stick roasting over the flames while I sat down on my sleeping mat as the sound of the fire crackling filled the night air. It was then I sensed someone's presence and stood up while getting into my battle stance as I yelled out.
"WHO'S THERE?" It was then Asami walked into the light and I lowered my stance. "Hello Asami." She smiled at me and bowed her head in greeting. "So, what brings you all the way out here?"
"I simply came to congratulate on your victory against the jorogumo." I nodded.
"She was a lot tougher than the last one I faced."
"It is thanks to Akuhei having her train under the ninja which is how she was able to become one of Akuhei's top assassins."
"Surprised he didn't send her after me the first time I came to Japan."
"From what I can understand, she was out handling a few other problems and I believe Akuhei may have not seen you as such a large threat."
"Well he definitely sees me as one now."
"Well you did defeat him by blowing up his body." I shrugged.
"True!" I then threw another branch onto the fire. "I take it you didn't come all this way just to congratulate me though."
"No, I came to give you something." One of her nine tails unfurled to reveal a crystal ball with a black spider in it. "This was made in the dragon forge from the ashes of the jorogumo you defeated." The tail extended and gave it to me. "Place it within your spiderpack and it shall receive a power enhancement but what shall happen to it after the enhancement is not something, I can tell you." I smiled.
"Not knowing what the new abilities it's going to get is part of the fun." She giggled.
"True!" She then got a serious look on her face. "I must warn you though Hiccup, after Akuheis defeat, his forces went their separate ways and many of them hold a grudge against you for defeating their master."
"Let me guess, and because of this grudge they'll be coming after me of their own free will." She nodded. "Alright then, I'll be careful and keep my guard up." She nodded and then walked into the darkness before disappearing, leaving me alone in the field as I took off my spiderpack and held up the ball. "Well time to see what this thing does." I placed it in the mouth of my pack and let it close, but nothing happened making me shrug. "Must need time to absorb the power." I then took my fish off the fire. "Can't test it out till morning anyway so might as well just leave it for now." With that said I began munching on my fish.
Akuhei's lair
Nobodies POV:
Akuhei's roar of fury echoed through the entire cave, forcing the hooded figure to cover his ears in pain in an attempt to stop them from ringing. Akuhei slammed his fist into the arm rests of his throne, slightly cracking them as he growled.
"How could one of my top assassins have failed to destroy that human." The hooded figure nodded.
"It seems so my lord."
"And why was I not informed about this earlier?"
"We only received this information now." Akuhei growled.
"I need a way to keep an eye on Hiccup Haddock." He rubbed his chin and then smiled. "And I know just the way, but it shall take time." The hooded figure smiled.
"Then it is fortunate that Hiccup Haddock will be forced to make his through 'The laughing mountains' and that is where one of your old subordinates has set up camp with his troop." Akuhei smiled.
"Does he still have the gift that I bestowed upon him?" The hooded figure nodded making Akuhei smile.
"And he's been looking forward to meeting Hiccup Haddock and punishing him for taking your life." Akuhei chuckled.
"Of course, he does, I personally trained that beast to be loyal and obedient after all." He then shooed the figure away. "Now go find me another yokai to feed my power." The hooded figure bowed and made his way out of the cave while Akuhei continued to drain life from the land through the roots that were imbedded in his body.
Following afternoon
Hiccups POV:
It was early afternoon and I was once more on my kappa shell helmet while going over how my days been so far since my morning was pretty peaceful since it was spent trying out my spiderpack. When I first saw it after I woke up, it didn't look like it went through much of a change other than it seeming to be a little shinier than it originally was. This was proven to be only one change in the pack after I put it on and could actually felt the difference in it and when I tried it out I was able to discover multiple new abilities that I knew would come in handy in the future.
The first ability I learnt about were how the four legs that can stick out to either use in battle or for climbing could to split in two with the extra four legs able to connect to the top of my arms and sides of my feet. When they're like this they could be used like daggers to stab or cut my enemies and be used as special climbing tools since I'll be able to stab them into what I'm climbing to get a good grip. Along with this, when I thrust these legs forward with them on either my arms or legs, they'd extend five feet forward at a high speed and could pierce metal. Along with this when it pieces something, the crystal at the end can split open four ways meaning after I've stealthily killed an enemy from behind, I could quickly pull them towards me before anyone could notice it.
There's also a new ability that would be helpful for capturing enemies but also something I needed to be careful with since it could also be incredibly lethal. The way this ability works is it sprays a green goo from the crystals that's very sticky and can easily trap my victims but its hard to get off so I'd have to avoid spraying it on the face as it could suffocate a person. I could also spray another type of goo that was a darker shade of green but just as sticky however while the other goo was only lethal if it hit the face, this one was plain out deadly no matter where it touched since it was acidic. The way it worked is after it was stuck to something, ten seconds would pass and then the goo would begin eating at what it struck and could even eat through metal so it was an item that was good for attacking siege weapons and breaking into enemy bases.
Besides that, there were also the abilities the threads now had, and they'd come in handy for setting up traps both lethal and nonlethal depending on the situation. The way it works is the tips of the legs that are used for climbing and the ones that attach themselves to my arms touch together and when they pull away, they're all connected by a large spider web. I then launch the crystals at the surfaces around me and the web is set up but this web could be one of two types of webs with one being serrated so anything that goes through it getting cut up while the other web was like a normal spider web. In other words, it's extra sticky and can be used to capture all those who run right into it and not just because of the stickiness but because it was very strong to the point that I couldn't even cut it with a gronkle iron dagger I brought with me.
I could also make smaller webs by launching a single crystal that would then split into six pieces, all connected by a web that can capture the victim in two ways. The first way is by hitting them with the web which then wraps their bodies up, pinning their arms to their bodies and legs together, making it impossible for the victim to move. The second way however is when the web remains rigid and carries the victim back into either a solid surface or knocking them down onto the ground, either way they'd be restrained when the crystals embed themselves into the surface, nailing the victim down. These abilities were without a doubt going to be helpful when it comes to hunting animals or capturing my enemies who were trying to escape by running away. All in all, I was pretty happy with my spiderpacks new abilities and was looking forward to testing them out against my future foes, but I hoped the peace would last a bit longer.
It was then I was brought out of my thought when I reached the base of a mountain and knew it wouldn't be smart to use my kappa shell helmet to travel through it since the rocky terrain would make it harder to travel steadily. With this in mind I got off my kappa shell helmet and put it away before bringing out my mystic bo staff since in addition to helping me defend myself if I ran into trouble, I could also use it as a walking stick and volt pole. With my staff in hand I began my long hike up the mountains on my journey to find the demon lord Akuhei and hopefully end him once and for all so this land could be left in peace.
1 hour later
It's been an hour since I began my hike up the mountains and I am happy to say that the time I've spent climbing has been pretty peaceful with no trouble other than the stench I caught from an old boar carcass. Aside from the occasional boar roaming the mountain there were also a few monkeys running around the mountain side which is to be expected since this was the kind of environment, their species lived in. Although the boars ran away at the sight of me, the monkeys were another story since instead of fleeing from me like the boars, they would stop what they were doing and just stare at me and it made me a little uneasy since it felt like they were measuring me up or something. I brushed it off as me being paranoid and should just ignore it but then again, in my life when I'm on one of these journeys, there are very few times when I have been paranoid and I wasn't right to be paranoid.
Now I'd reached the top of the mountain and was making my way through the woods that covered it but as I did, I couldn't help but feel that I was being watched by something. It was then I entered a large circle shaped clearing and although it looked perfectly normal, I couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy and slowly made my way into the clearing. When I made it to the middle of the clearing though I was brought to a complete stop by the sound of laughter, but this laughter made my hair stand up as an unpleasant shiver went up my spine. I immediately got into my battle stance and looked around for the source of the laugh before a shadow fell from above me and I quickly tuck and rolled forward to avoid the owner of the shadow. When I stopped the sound of something hitting stone followed by stone breaking and turned to see some sort of human sized monkey with long black hair covering its head and a dark brown leather loincloth around its waist.
What caught my attention the most though was the fact that it had a black spear in hand with a long, glowing blade at the end of its left end and black leather braided around the entire staff. It wasn't that hard to figure out the creature was a hihi but I was surprised that it had a spear since a hihi didn't use weapons, since they were mostly monkeys but it was easy to figure out that this one was not a normal hihi. I'd read about them in one of the books in Akuhei's palace library about how some hihi could be trained as warriors and it wasn't that hard to figure out Akuhei had something to do with this hihi having a spear. Knowing I wasn't going to be able to continue with my journey unless this hihi was dead and it was easy to tell that it was challenging me with its spear, so I readied my staff and said.
"Bring it on, chuckles."
As soon as I said that, the hihi let out a roar before the sound of leaves shaking, branches snapping, and screeching of some kind surrounded the area. It was then a large troop of monkeys burst from the trees and surrounded the entire area, cutting off any escape routes there were, and I knew the only way I was getting out of this was beating the hihi. With that in mind I muttered how I wished I had brought my crystal spear before charging at the hihi who charged at me as well and with that, our fight began.
Nobodies POV:
The hihi immediately and quickly thrust the blade of its spear forward, aiming at Hiccups heart but Hiccup quickly turned to the side barely avoiding the blade. Before the hihi could pull its spear back Hiccup quickly slammed his foot down on it, pulling the beast forward and then slammed the head of his staff into the hihi's stomach, sending it flying back. The hihi tumbled across the ground before getting back up while Hiccup stood there, spinning his staff and giving the hihi a look that dared it to attack him. The hihi grinned, showing off its fangs before it charged at Hiccup once more who got ready for another attack right before the hihi slammed his spear into the ground and used it to vault towards Hiccup with its feet held out.
Hiccup didn't expect this and received a hard blow to the chest and stayed there as Hiccup went down and slid across the ground with the hihi riding him as it laughed with its big lips curling up and over its eyes. Hiccup used the beast's temporary blindness to his advantage and slammed his staff right into the hihi's gut before extending it both ways, stopping him from sliding across the ground with one end and sending the hihi flying with the other. Hiccup quickly stood back up and looked at the hihi who glared at him before it growled and charged at Hiccup again swinging its staff at him from the right, but Hiccup quickly blocked the strike.
This however left Hiccup open which the hihi was hoping for and clawed at his side, but Hiccup's reaction time and senses were a lot better and quickly used one hand to grab onto the hihi's wrist and pulled it forward while falling back. When they were down, he was quick to pull his feet in and push them against the hihi's stomach before he thrust them forward, throwing the beast over his head and into the ground while Hiccup used the momentum to carry him back onto his feet. He then turned to the downed Hihi and slammed the butt of his staff down towards the hihi's chest but the hihi quickly rolled to the side avoiding the strike that left a sizable dent in the ground. The hihi growled as it swung the staff of his into Hiccups legs, tripping him and before he could get up, the hihi quickly got back onto him and thrust the spear right at his head.
Hiccup quickly leaned his head to the side barely avoiding the blade and raised his hands to try and grab the hihi but before Hiccup could grab it, the hihi used its feet to quickly pin them down by the elbows. The hihi then pointed its spear down at Hiccups head again but this time, Hiccup pulled his feet up with one on either side of the hihi's underarms and threw it off him and quickly got back onto his feet. The hihi slowly got back up while Hiccup tried to remember everything that he'd read about hihi and then remembered how the best way to kill one was to make it laugh so its big lips would cover its eyes and then stab it in the skull. Sadly, the hihi didn't seem to be in a laughing mood and even if it was, Hiccup highly doubted he would like its sense of humor since it was probably the same kind Dagur had in his younger days. Hiccup then smiled knowing that there were other ways to blind a hihi before stabbing it in the head and his last battle gave him just the item to do so.
The hihi charged at Hiccup again but this time charged at it and pole vaulted into the air before raising his staff up high, ready to bring it down on the hihi. The hihi raised its spear to block Hiccups strike but a second before Hiccups staff made contact with the pole of the hihi's spear, Hiccup raised one of the legs of his spiderpack and blasted some of the acidic goo into the hihi's eyes just as the staffs made contact. When the poles struck though, Hiccups staff proved to be the more powerful of the two when the force went against the spear for just over a second before it shattered the part that was hit. The hihi might not have been able to see it but it did feel it when it was able to point both ends of its weapon up making it open its mouth in shock. Hiccup didn't give it the opportunity to get over its shock though before his spiderpacks leg slammed into the skull of the beast, right between the eyes, killing it instantly. The body fell to the ground and turned to dust while Hiccup looked around and saw the monkeys that had surrounded the clearing, fleeing in fear, making him smile as he said.
"Well that takes care of that." He then looked at the remains of the hihi's spear and gently pushed the pieces together with his staff. "Might make a good souvenir."
Before he could lean down to pick it up though the wrapping around the spears staff came undone and latched onto Hiccups staff which Hiccup had let go of, in surprise. Hiccup watched as the pieces of the spear slowly wrapped around the bo staff, slowly being pulled into it and once it was fully consumed, the bo staff floated up before jade colored wrappings burst from it and began wrapping around the staff. Hiccup watched for a few moments until the staff was completely wrapped with gold ends on either side and three rings with one in the center and one on either side, two and a half feet away from it. Hiccup slowly picked up the staff and could easily tell it had changed by the feel of it and could just tell that it was more powerful than before in various ways but he knew he shouldn't dilly dally since there may be more threats in the forest, waiting for him so he took off.
Akuheis lair
Akuhei sat in his thrown, smiling down at the contents of a small bejeweled box that was sitting on his lap while the hooded figure smiled at his master's obvious joy. Akuhei looked up at him and said.
"You have done well my servant."
"You honor me master, but may I ask how what is in the box is going to help us watch Hiccup Haddock?" Akuhei chuckled and lifted the content of the box to reveal a single black feather.
"Back when I was a boy and before I became one of the gods pets, I had a pet bird who was my most trusted companion and the only friend I had in that village and as expected, he was with me when I ran away from the torment." Akuhei sighed. "My companion wasn't happy when I turned my back on the gods and tried to attack me, so I was forced to end him but kept the feather as a keepsake." He then grinned cruelly. "And now he shall fly once more as my eyes in the sky."
Akuhei let go of the feather but before it could fall back into the box, black bolts shot out of his hands at the feather and after a few seconds it slowly split into more feathers which split into more and continued to do so while slowly taking form. Once the bird had fully taken form, it was the size of a large bald eagle with two horns above its head, sticking to the back with curves near the end that point up a bit. Below the horns were white lightning marks as well as just above his eyes with its bottom jaw opening three ways pointing side to side and down. As for his feathers, they were stormy navy-blue color with light blue in between the feathers moving like lightning with a thunder bolt pattern on top of his wings and tail feathers. If one ignores the lower jaw and horns, it would be a very beautiful bird but Akuhei didn't care for its beauty but for how he could use it to keep an eye on his foe. He pointed towards the cave entrance and said.
"Go find Hiccup Haddock and follow him until I call you back." The bird let out a screech and took off out of the cave while Akuhei leaned back while smiling. "Now we can keep an eye on Hiccup Haddock." He then turned to the hooded figure. "Find me more yokai to drain, the sooner I regain my full power, the better." The figure nodded and left.
AN: Hey guys, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and will review kindly since I'm a little annoyed with the lack of reviews I've been getting lately. By the way, next week's chapter may be late as my family is going overseas on Friday, so I won't be able to write for a bit since I'll be on the planes and then switching planes in Dubai. I will try to get the new chapter done and posted before then, but I make no promises. Anyway, remember to reviewand have a nice day.
