RWBY 40k – Salem, Mistress of Inquisition.
Ep 25 : The Metallic Crusade.
Adoria. Year 861.M30.
The Planet had changed a lot since the arrival of the Imperium. Gigantic space colonies were built on all its Lagranges points.
But some sported the symbol of the Mechanicum. Indeed, the Mechanicum was far from happy to see a planetary civilization like that of Adoria. The latter despite its regression since the Age of Strife had kept a standard of living and a technology far superior to the rest of the Imperium.
Mobile Suits were their weapons of choice and brought countless victories to the Imperium.
Adoria's Regular Army was no exception either, carrying Lasguns, Plasma Guns and other weapons of far superior power and design.
We must not forget the innumerable vehicles and other ships of Adoria whose technology was jealously guarded by the scientists of Adoria.
But what makes Adoria especially powerful is its immense empire of nearly 100 planets.
The former region of the Golden Moons has become the Iron Region. An extremely prolific mining and industrial region and vital region for the immense Empire.
It is jealously guarded by huge fortresses said to be purchased at great expense from the Imperium.
The Mechanicum seeing that Adoria had the potential to supplant them had set up many Cult Mechanicum strongholds to gather information from this civilization.
The Forge planet of Heles VII was closest to Adoria monitoring the activities of the Adorians.
The only places Tech-Priests couldn't access were the Inner Three Systems regions as well as the Iron Region due to a ban from Kira Saito.
The 2nd Legion of Space Marines received special treatment from the leading Primarch of TAFS.
She was equipped with Mobile Suits Vanguard, Mobile Suits specially created for superhumans for them.
Kira Saito, like his brothers from Salem, possessed magic.
But while they used this magic for combat and their troops. Kira for his part used it to improve his cognitive skills but also to create from scratch the materials necessary for his future inventions.
This did not prevent to seek the help of Magnus, undisputed master of magic. The latter, busy chasing demons and Xenos sent a contingent of Thousands Sons to Adoria and they taught the II Legion the basics of magic.
IInd Legion which now had a name: the Mobile Warriors.
At the moment, he was in his presidential palace on Julius Prime, the planet's capital.
It was a large city comparable in size and appearance to hive cities.
The only difference was that the city was clean and sparkling against the Adoria sun.
But today was far from a good day for the Primarch.
Indeed, the Fudor Empire had made a new frontier incident towards the planet of Decembus XVII. A planet barely colonized 8 years ago but whose colonization triggered the beginning of tensions with this empire.
Fudor was a human empire waging a permanent war of expansion since the opening of the Eye of Terror.
Their submission to the Imperium soon after the discovery of Adoria was seen by many as nothing more than an excuse to justify their aggressive conquest campaigns on other human planets.
Kira Saito had ignored this empire but since the colonization of Decembus XVII. King Varentius III of the Fudor dynasty claimed the planet for his empire. A planet located on the border between the two civilizations and only passage to the Gulf of Galor, an opening to a large asteroid cloud protecting the interior of Fudor's empire.
Kira was watching the TAFS newscast, TAFS Aurora.
Female Journalist: "Nothing is known of Varentius III but according to some sources from the Rogue Traders Militant within the Fudors. Huge military fleets are being assembled. Decembus XVII asks for help from Adoria as she assembles her troops."
Kia is at Kira's side, she now has the appearance of a 50-year-old woman. Her face was wrinkled as well as his body. Her hair was just as pale white. Despite this, the rejuvenation treatments given by the Imperium allowed her to maintain her vitality.
Kia: "The fools. They believe they can defeat Adoria when their technology is on par with the Imperium."
Kira: "They can still go back. A stupid move and the consequences would be terrible for them. Their way of conquering planets is beneficial for the Imperium. I don't want their civilization to be doomed. But if they force my hand...I have no intention of holding back."
Kia: "We'll see."
Kira walked out with her mother from the presidential palace and took their helicopter to the Fortress-Monastery of the Mobile Warriors.
The Fortress-Monastery looks like a huge iron Ziggurat away from the city.
The Mobile Warriors could be seen in the inner courtyard practicing their chainsword and bolter. Others were training with their Vanguard Mobile Suits in the outdoor courtyard.
Finally, the Thousand Sons taught energy and fire shots to their students in the courtyard opposite the other two.
They arrived at the Ziggurat and landed in the inner courtyard.
The Space Marines saw their genetic father and bowed to him.
One of them, bigger than the others, arrived in front of Kira. This is Hajime Araka, the Master of the Regular Division.
Hajime: "Hello my father."
Kira: "Where are your other two brothers?"
Hajime: "Training their division."
Kira: "I have to collect them."
Hajime turned to the other Space Marines.
Hajime: "Go on without me."
The other Space Marines resumed their training with their weapons as the group moved away to the outer courtyard.
Hajime: "What's going on father?"
Kira: "Fudor threatens us. We need to gather the Legion... as a precaution."
Hajime: "I see..."
They walked through the buildings that separated the inner courtyard from the outer one. The cables and other reinforced walls presented themselves to them.
Until finally the huge hangars containing the Mobile Suits Vanguards being maintained by the human workers.
They arrived at the outer courtyard where the Mobile Suits fight against them with fake weapons or test their weapons on rocks or Adamantium cubes.
They arrived on a terrace where the Master of the Mechanical Division observed. Hidejiro Dovekun. The latter finally saw his genetic father.
Hidejirō: "Father... What are you doing here?"
Kira: "We have an emergency to deal with. Fudor is threatening us."
Hidejirō: "Of course... I'm coming with you."
The group entered the Ziggurat, full of iron walls as workers worked to keep it in working order.
The group arrived in the opposite courtyard, the Thousand Sons could be seen displaying devastating attacks to the retaliating Space Marines present. The Head of the Magic Division was present, Iwao Jukairo.
Iwao: "Father. What is this visit worth?"
Kira: "Our nation is in danger. Fudor wants war against us."
The group returned to the Ziggurat and went up to the chiefs' office.
Kira turned on a map of Adoria and its worlds. He arrived on the planet Decembus XVII.
Kira: "We must expect a massive attack from Fudor. They have the means of the Imperium."
Iwao: "Anyway, everyone knows they never believed in the cause of the Imperium. This mistake will make them change their minds."
Hajime: "I think it's still possible to discuss."
Iwao: "I don't think so. They want war, they got it!"
Hidejirō: "We're going to have to start organizing my brothers. Adoria can't sit idly by."
Kira: "This is how we're going to do it. Iwao, you're going to deploy a protection bubble on December XVII. Hidejirō, you're going to protect the planet with your Mobile Suits. Finally, Hajime, you're going to place your troops towards the Gulf of Galor, to prevent enemies from hiding behind asteroids."
The three nodded.
Kira: "Let's hope nothing will happen..."
A few days later...
Decembus XVII was there, it's a green and blue planet like all the other terraformed planets of Adoria. The colonies of the Lagranges points gravitated around the planet but surrounded by huge newly built fortresses.
He also had entire fleets of starships from all over TAFS.
But above all, a gigantic fleet in front of the Gulf of Galor, the fleet led by Kira awaited the possible arrival of the Fudor Empire.
The Eternal, the flagship of the II Legion was ahead.
The wait has been feverish for several days because everything indicates on the side of Fudor that a massive attack on their part is going to take place because the fleets have been located behind the Gulf of Galor for barely a day.
The tension was extreme for Kira and the I India Legion waited feverishly.
Finally, the general alarm sounds and spreads throughout the planetary sector.
(Note: Evangelion's Blue Paterne Alarm).
Kira: "Status report! What's going on?"
Crewman: "The enemy fleet has disappeared into the warp! The Astropaths have warned us!"
Kira: "Prepare for the worst!"
For a few minutes, nothing happens.
But suddenly, hundreds of warp portals open. From within came vessels of various sizes with the symbol of the Three-Headed Lion of Fudor.
The first exchanges of fire between the two fleets.
Kira: "Hold your positions and let the Mobile Suits deploy!"
The Mobile Suits of the fleet emerged from their ships and began to engage the nearest ships.
The Mobile Suits pierced the shields of the ships before penetrating the armor plates.
Upon entering, the thousands of crew members and soldiers were sucked into space while the rest were killed by Mobile Suits or debris.
This assault by the Mobile Suits halted the advance of Fudor's first fleet.
But suddenly, an unpleasant surprise materializes behind the besieged.
Another fleet of Fudor materializes behind the II Legion's fleet.
Kira: "What?! The tricksters! They've concealed a second fleet! Let half turn to confront them!"
This is the start of a crossfire battle. The Second Fleet tries to break through the defending fleet from behind while the First tries to force their way through the swarm of Space Cyclops-type Mobile Suits.
Some ships even try to descend on Decembus XVII but are stopped by the magic shield deployed by the mages of the IInd and XVth Legion.
Kira on his side maneuvers to prevent being overwhelmed.
But after hours of fierce fighting, reinforcements from Adoria reverse the situation and the attacking Second Fleet is shattered.
The First Fleet seeing the damage fled.
Despite this victory, the colonies of Lagrange points 3 and 4 of the planet were badly damaged.
Kira gathered the new troops around a great council of war.
Kira: "It's time to show the power of Adoria and not challenge a son of the Emperor with impunity!"
The other generals nodded.
The next day, Adoria's warfleets cross the Gulf of Galor.
The worlds of Fudor were stormed and occupied quickly.
Faced with the consequent technological superiority of Adoria, the Fudor Empire began to crumble.
The planets that fell under Fudor's rule saw the opportunity they had been waiting for and began to revolt.
The civil war that added to the war against Adoria plunged Fudor into a spiral of defeat and defection.
Eventually after a few weeks, Kira arrived with his fleet on Odorin, the home planet of Fudor's Empire.
On the planet, he is in front of the King of Fudor, Varientius III who wore a rueful expression despite his attempt to remain calm.
Kira: "Time to speak. King of Fudor."
Varentius III: "I know... Come to my palace."
As they entered the palace, they came to the king's office.
Kira pulled a tractate from his pocket and laid it before the king.
Kira: "These are the conditions. Your nation must pay tribute to Adoria for the damage caused to our fleets and the lives of our men. Accept the occupation of your colonies three systems from the border. The installation of a colony in the orbit of Aviria, your border planet. In exchange, we will help you put down the revolts that put your empire on fire and blood."
The king and his associates were surprised and angry at this proposal but faced with the situation in which. They swallow their anger.
Varentius III: "End of it."
He signs the treaty along with the other nobles.
Kira: "Varentius III, I hope I won't regret it."
Varentius III: "May my conscience keep me from betraying you."
Rebellions in the Fudor Empire were put down by the armies of Adoria.
But the humiliation was total for the Empire of Fudor who now had accounts to render for Adoria. Including the order not to declare war without the authorization of Kira himself.
In any case, Kira does not have time to pay for the gossip and other insults of the Fudorians because he received a visit from a person.
Fulgrim and his 7-year-old daughter Edelgard.
Fulgrim: "My chief brother Kira. How are you?"
Kira: "Very well. But who is this little girl?"
He looked up at a little girl with long white hair and deep purple irises.
Fulgrim: "This is my little Edelgard. A future warrior ahead of you."
Edelgard: "Nice to meet you Uncle Kira."
Kira: "Of course."
He turned his gaze to a dark-haired woman dressed in a long white dress and wearing white sandals. Her hair was tied in a long braid.
Kira: "You must be Edelgard's mother."
Udili: "Yes, my name is Udili."
Kira: "Allow..."
He kissed the lady's hand.
Udili: "You know gallantry. It's a good thing."
Kira: "I'll show you Adoria Madame and you, Grand Princess."
They took them to the city of Adoria.
To be continued... The Battle of Rennimar.
Rogal Dorn launches a campaign against Grel's Ork WAAAGH dubbed Rennimar's System Overtyrant. He joins his brothers Leman Russ and Mortarion in the siege. But his substantial use of his magic will cause terrible conflict.
