With Shockwave's defeat, the group continue there way back to the Castle where shocking revelations are revealed.

The group returned to the halls of Castle Oblivion where they are greeted by Metal Sonic, still clad in his purple heartless armor and wielding Soul Edge

"Metal!" Emerl said and runs up to him.

"Careful Emerl" J said to him

"You'll hurt Windblade if you go further." Metal told him.

"You still want to fight?" Emerl said stopping confused "But Shockwave's gone, so now you're free!"

"It doesn't matter what happens to him." Metal told him firmly "I'm protecting Windblade from you. That's what's in my heart."

"What do you mean?" J asked.

"Emerl, I made a promise to Windblade." Metal said in response. "I promised….to keep her safe."

"You did?" Emerl said in confusion.

"There was a meteor shower…this one night when she and I were younger…" Metal began to speak surprising Emerl "Windblade got scared and said 'What if a shooting star hits the islands?' So I told her: 'If a shooting star comes this way, I will protect you!'" He holds up Soul Edge.

"This…this is sounding a bit too familiar." J said knowing full well she heard this story a little while ago.

"You made a promise! With a toy sword!" Emerl said having the same feeling.

"What…how do you know about that?" Metal said in surprise.

"Because…that was the promise I made to her that night!" Emerl told him. "I would protect her! I said it!"

"Don't lie!" Metal said in anger "You weren't the one there that night!"

"It doesn't look like either of you are lying." J said confused.

"YOU're the one who wasn't there! That was when she gave her good luck charm to ME!" Emerl told him

"Her what?!" Metal asked surprised.

Emerl pulls out the good luck charm and showed it to Metal "See?!"

Metal gasped and asked "Tell me…Where did you get that?" The a spark appears on his head and he clutches it with his free hand.

"Emerl…good try." Metal said looking up at the Gizoid with a glare as he reaches into his armor

"Huh?" Emerl said confused.

"Now what?" J asked not sure how much surprises she could take.

"That must be a fake. I've got the real one right here!" Metal told them and pulls out another good luck charm exactly identical to the one Emerl has.

"Wha…TWO of them?!" Emerl said shocked.

"Something about this doesn't add up." J said thinking on it, a moment ago Metal wasn't even aware he had that charm until just now.

"Fakes should be destroyed!" Metal said putting the charm away and readies to fight.

"Uh oh…J we need the arena!" Emerl said putting the charm away

"On it!" J said and sets it up

-Arena Authorization: Serial Designation J-

The arena was set up and Metal wastes no time running up and slams his blade into the ground sending a two way dark energy shockwave that knocks Emerl back a bit. Emerl recovers and does a Sonic Blade quickly dealing some damage. Followed by a second

Metal then sets up a Dark Firega but J counters with a Sonic Claw knocking Metal into the air and to help build some distance between him and Emerl.

"You got to be kidding!" Metal said annoyed and Emerl responds by attacking with another Sonic Blade.

Emerl and J try to move back but Metal strikes them from behind after recovering hurting them both. Emerl and J nod and attack with there Sonic attacks doing damage and Emerl lands the final blow.

"You're the fake!" Metal cries out as he was defeated

Emerl gains a new item card for a Mega-Potion and takes it

-End of Battle-

Emerl and J stood ready as Metal Sonic stands them eyes glitching a bit as he does the robot version of panting from exhaustion.

"Metal…" Emerl said concerned.

Metal grunts and runs off heading up the stairs but he drops something as he ran, Windblade's good luck charm. Emerl and the gang notice it and go to look at it.

"Hmm…isn't that Windblade's good luck charm?" Lilac asked.

"It really is just like mine." Emerl said nodding. He picks it up and asked "How'd he get this?"

"Better question, how did he suddenly become aware he had it after you showed him the one you had?" J asked.

"This place just opens up more and more questions." Doom said.

Suddenly a bright blinding light shines from the charm blinding and surprising the group and when it dies down the charm in Emerl's hand was replaced with a world card, one depicting Destiny Island.

"It turned into a card!" Hiro said in surprise.

Emerl looks to the stairs and said "Let's keep going"

"Okay but…I feel like I don't understand what's going on…" Lilac said thinking.

"It doesn't mater, like I said we should keep moving." Emerl said.

"It does matter." Togami said firmly "How can two of you have the same memory?"

"Agreed, it didn't look like either of you were lying and actually believed you were telling thr truth." J said nodding "But both of you couldn't be right."

"I'm wrong?" Emerl said offended "Fine, then don't believe me!"

"That's not what they meant Emerl" Doom said to him

"Yeah, we're just worried is all" Hiro said nodding.

"Then let's ask Windblade! That should clear it up." Emerl told them. "Look, we don't have time to sit around. So let's GO."

The group look to each other and back at Emerl. Hiro then asked "Emerl, what happened to you?"

"What is that supposed to me?" Emerl asked.

"Well, you always get touchy when it comes to stuff about Windblade…" Doom began to explain.

"But before we came to this castle, you didn't even remember what her name was." Lilac finished explaining.

"Indeed, now Windblade is literally the only thing you talk about." Togami points out.

"It honestly doesn't make any sense." Hiro said with a nod. "I suggest you perhaps slow down and think ahead about some of these things."

"Think ahead? What's the matter with you guys?" Emerl asked them angrily "You want me to abandon her?!

"No, that's not it…" Lilac began to say

"Then do whatever you want!" Emerl said cutting her off "You can lay back and take a nap for all I care! I'M going to find Windblade!" He then runs to go up the stairs

"EMERL!" The group called out

"I go with him" J said to the group and flies off after the Gizoid. Leaving the others to look at each other concerned. Just what is happening to Emerl?

Back on the top floor of the castle, Windblade remained sitting on her chair as Brutaka approaches her.

"You're all that he's got left. Outside of J that is but that's to be expected" Brutaka informed her on the recent events "So then, if you don't stop this, no one will."

Windblade gasps hearing that but looks down and said "But I…It's too late."

"You shouldn't give up just yet." Brutaka told her and turns to leave heading for the door but stops and said "Say Windblade. Not sure you noticed but…Marr doesn't seem to be around."

Windblade looks up and indeed the two were alone in the room. Confused she asked "What are you…. saying?"

"Just that there's no one here who would want to get in your way." Brutaka told her smiling.

Windblade then realized what he was implying, if she wanted to stop what Marr was making her do, now is the time. She gets up from her chair and hurries to leave the room.

Brutaka without looking at her said "Just make it count." He then hears the large doors open and close indicating she left the room "Now THIS should be interesting." He said with a grin "Try and make it enjoyable, Emerl. It's the least you can do for me, you know."

Brutaka chuckles in amusement a bit but stops in surprise as he feels his chest and looks down "Hey, wait. I'm enjoying this." He smiles genuinely as he recalls watching the heroes' adventures in the castle but also back to people dear to him back at the Psycho Organization HQ and looks up "You guys ARE something else!"

Emerl seems to be changing for the worse as he seems to abandon his friends all for the pursuit of Windblade, Brutaka also seems to plotting somthing.
