Ruined Courtyard (Night)
As Cinder limped away from Dominic's carcass, she felt victorious. She finally beat that blonde nuisance.
That feeling didn't last long.
"Cinder..." a older male voice said. The woman turned around, knowing that logically, the person speaking should be dead. But when she met the man's face, she was greeted with the sight of her father, covered in burn marks. "How could you?" the man asked, a look of betrayal on his face. Cinder didn't notice before, but she could now clearly see her mother's corpse on the ground in front of her.
"Cinder..." a younger, female voice said. Cinder turned around, and terror surged through her body. Standing before her was a 6-year old girl with black hair and orange eyes. But her biggest defining feature was the black patch of burned skin that covered her right eye. "It still hurts." the child said. "I thought we were sisters."
"No, you're not real." Cinder said aloud, but mostly to convince herself. "You're all dead!"
"And who's fault is that?"
Before she could react, a blade tore through the False Maiden's chest.
Ruined Beacon (Night)
Yveltal sped toward its target, letting out a horrific cry as it tore through the air. The Wyvern rose into the air as well, clashing against the Destruction Pokemon.
Mostly unfazed by the attack, Yvetal formed an orb of golden energy above its head, then launched the orb at the Wyvern. The beast let loose a stream of blackened fire which collided with the orb, detonating it before it got close to the Grimm. The Wyvern took the first chance it could and lunged, swiping a claw at Yveltal. The Pokemon was faster, however, and swiftly dodged while firing another orb. Caught off-guard, the Wyvern was unable to defend as its flesh burned from the ensuing explosion.
Filled with blind rage, the dragon tackled Yveltal, sending both of them hurtling toward the ground. The Pokemon managed to slip its way out of the Grimm's hold, leaving the Wyvern alone as it crashed into the building. While its opponent was unable to move, Yveltal gathered dark energy in its beak and released it all towards the Wyvern. The draconic Grimm's body was riddled with pain, but it would not fail its Queen. As the dark energy pierced its form, it flew towards the Destruction Pokemon, filled with bloodlust. It clamped its jaw around Yveltal's neck, then dragged it down to the ground with it. The two collided with the earth, causing most of the buildings around them to crumble.
Naturally, Yveltal closed its eyes due to the pain of having razor-sharp teeth stabbed into its neck. When it opened its eyes, it saw the Wyvern stampeding toward it. Acting out of instinct, it vanished in a plume of smoke. When the Wyvern finally reached the Pokemon's location, it simply passed through the smoke without harming Yveltal at all. When the smoke cleared, the dragon saw that its opponent was nowhere to be seen. Intense pain radiated through its whole body as the Pokemon dug its claws into the Wyvern's back.
Feeling the blood drip down its chest, Yveltal knew it had to end this quickly. Its feathers began glowing dark red, and a deathly air filled the area. It was at that moment that the Wyvern felt a strange, new sensation: Fear. Yveltal released its stored energy, firing a crimson beam of light that struck the Grimm's face. Slowly, but surely, the beast began turning to stone, and Yveltal's wounds were closing.
Victorious, the Destruction Pokemon shrieked into the night and flew off, leaving Vale behind. As it left, the Grimm in the Kingdom all followed the Dark Aura it was giving off. Just like that, the Fall was over.
Xiao-Long/Rose Household (Morning)
Yang woke up very suddenly, her eyes glowing bright red.
"Yang, calm down." Summer said, standing at her daughter's bedside. "You're fine."
"What happened?" the blonde asked, holding her head. She didn't know why, but she had a splitting headache.
"Ruby and Gregory said you screamed and then passed out." Summer explained.
"What happened to the academy and Vale?" Yang asked. "Did they clear out the Grimm?"
"In a way." her mother answered. "Something big took on the strongest Grimm in the city, then led them all away. I don't know what kind of monster could have that kind of power, but I'm thankful it came when it did." After a few moments, she continued. "It was resting beneath the house." she revealed. "Your brother did something to awaken it, and kept it from all of us." The Huntress knew now that this was the same being that saved her life all those years ago.
"Wait, Dominic! Is he alright!?" Yang asked at the mention of her sibling.
Summer's silver eyes glazed over with tears once that question was asked. "He...I'm sorry." she said, unable to bring herself to say what happened.
"He's gone?" Yang asked, refusing to believe it. Summer didn't answer. "No, he can't be gone. He can't be!" Without saying a word, her mother got something out of a bag to her right. As soon as she laid eyes on it, Yang was rendered silent. It was Scarlet Showstopper, but with something very important missing from it. Life.
The blade, once bright red, was now a dull gray. The fact that Summer was able to hold it was evidence enough that its wielder was dead, as his spirit and the weapon were linked. Only he could touch the blade without suffering severe burns. Yang never really understood how, but now that she was faced with the cruel reality, it finally sunk in.
Her brother was dead.
Living Room (Morning)
"So, you, your brother, and Connor were all born with magic?" Pyrrha asked Gregory.
"Yeah." the boy said. He and Ruby were still dealing with Dominic's death. "We still don't know how we have this power, but it doesn't really matter now."
"What matters is finding Cinder." Ivy said, her eyes glowing yellow. Despite every bone in her body telling her to run, she couldn't. She couldn't abandon her partner when he needed her. "She said she was from Mistral, so that's where we go."
"With the airships down, we'll have to venture on foot." Ren said.
"I'm up for it!" Nora exclaimed.
"What about you, Jaune?" Gregory asked, turning to the blonde.
"Connor risked his life to protect us." he said, turning to Pyrrha. "I owe it to him to find Cinder and make her pay."
"Agreed." Ruby said, walking down from her room. She still had tears in her eyes. "Let's go."
As they left Patch, they all passed by a statue that was erected in memory of Signal's greatest student, who gave his life at the Fall.
