Summary: Tired of being stuck in the industrial style of the hotel, Dennis decides to live out in the forest.
This chapter is the parody of the episode: Nature Pants.
It was an ordinary day for Dennis, as he is just helping Quasimodo with his cooking. However, the day will soon get a fantastical twist.
As Dennis was going to get something from the pantry, one of the ingredients started to float in the air. The ingredient soon spined around the air, and in a matter of seconds, it turned into a butterfly.
Dennis soon noticed more ingredients coming out of the pantry, and they too turned into different creatures. Soon, Dennis decided that he should join in the fun.
He turned into his bat form, and he followed the creatures outside of the window. All of the animals and Dennis soon danced in the forest, and for the grand finale, they even cheered for him.
"Dennis,", a voice called out, "Dennis!". The voice was from Quasimodo, and he doesn't sound too happy. "What are you doing?", he called out, "You're making me burn the food.".
Dennis soon snapped out of his daydream, and noticed Quasimodo, before noticing smoke from the stove. Dennis soon got scared, and ran behind Quasimodo, "What do we do?", he asked, and Quasimodo said, "Here, use this!", as he pulled out a fire extinguisher.
Dennis doesn't know how to use a fire extinguisher, so he decided to throw it at the fire, but he missed. "Seriously?!", Quasimodo said, as Dennis got even more scared, as the fire started to go ablaze.
"I better sound the alarm!", Quasimodo said, as he alerted Dracula to call the fire department. Soon, people were panicking, especially Frank who kept on screaming, "FIRE!!!!", and Dennis tried to blow out the fire, but it didn't do much.
Minutes later, two human firefighters rushed to the scene, and prepared their hose. Dennis however, got in the way, and ended up engulfing the water that's coming from the hose, to which the kid transformed himself into a sponge.
Now in this new kitchen sponge form that Dennis got turned into, he fell backwards onto the stove, and the fire got put out. "Hooray!", everyone cheered, but Dennis, who was still a kitchen sponge, soon got shrunk due to the heat from the stove.
"Dennis.", Dracula said, using his magic to lift up the dried out sponge, "We're going to have to talk.".
Dennis knew that he was going to get a long talk with his grandpa, as Dracula said that this was the fourth time this week that Dennis messed up someone's help.
"Well,", Dennis said, "I've been thinking...". "We need you thinking about work!", Dracula interrupted, but Dennis just interrupted back, "No offense, but...".
"I think that I should give up the hotel's way of industrial life, and live with a natural life, and live the way that wild animals do.", Dennis told his grandpa. When Dracula heard this, he just simply laughed, as he brings Dennis to his bedroom.
"Dennis.", Dracula said with a calm protective voice, "You're half human, so you wouldn't even live at least one day out in the wild.". "As you can see...", Dracula told Dennis, "This is your natural habitat.". Dennis however said, "It's my bedroom.". "This is your wide open range.", Dracula continued, but Dennis told him that is just the bed.
"These...", Dracula said, pointing to a bunch of stuffed toys and action figures that Dennis owns, "are your loyal civilians.". Going through Dennis' toy box, he pulls out a magic wand, "And this...", Dracula said, "Well, this is your golden scepter, to which you rule.".
"You see, this is a lot better than playing with butterflies, right?", Dracula said, but to his surprise, Dennis was gone. Dennis was outside his bedroom, and he just scoffed off, to which Dracula said, "He'll be back alright, he'll be back.".
With the sun setting in the sky, Dennis decided to bid his last goodbye to all of his friends and family. "And Papa Abraham, I want you to have this paper clip.", Dennis said giving the clip to Abraham. "And I thought this friendship would never end.", Abraham commented.
The most tearful of the crowd was Winnie, as she tried to say, "Are... Are... Are you sure you want me to have this jar of mayonnaise?", to which Dennis said, "Yep.". Winnie soon pulled out a bunch of phone books, "And these old phone books?", she added.
"All yours, pal.", Dennis said, before saying one more thing, "There is also one more thing that I want you to have.". From a carrying case, Dennis pulled out a butterfly catching net. "Ol' Reliable?!", Winnie said with shock, but soon cried with tears of sadness.
Ericka soon noticed the commotion outside, and went over towards the crowd. "Hey Dennis, are you having a garage sale?", she asked, but Dennis just said, "No, I'm giving up my things, so I can live with butterflies, and other creatures.".
Ericka soon got a bit worried, "Dennis, out of all the crazy schemes you come up with, why would you want to live the forest with butterflies?", as she also explained that there are wild animals that might eat him.
But Dennis interrupted, "That's exactly the response I've could've hear from someone like you, or any of you. And besides, I don't any of these things to make me happy, and if you guys are adventurous and wise, you guys will join me.". "Goodbye.", he said as he walked behind a bush.
Everyone just stared off at Dennis, thinking he may not return, until he said, "Oh yeah, won't be needing this anymore.", and took off his shirt. "Well, it's just a shirt.", Johnny said, "I mean he's not going to take off his...". But it turns out, that Dennis did the unthinkable, which is taking off his khaki shorts as well.
Soon, Dennis ran off to the forest, and everyone was soon staring at what happened. "He took off his shirt and shorts, and is now running around in his underpants.", Abraham commented. "I'd give him a week.", Mavis said, while all the other people thought it'll take Dennis a day to go back home.
Winnie however, didn't make a bet and instead cried, "WINNIE SAD!!!!!".
After a long walk, Dennis finally reached his destination. "I'm... home.", he said, before he said the same words again but with excitement.
Dennis soon noticed a bunch of nocturnal butterflies flying past him, and Dennis was excited to be with his new comrades. "Brothers and sisters, wait for me.", he said, as he goes in his bat form and flies with them, but the insects fly another direction.
"Wait I just got here.", Dennis said, before using his instincts to follow the directions of the butterflies. Following them, he come across a bunch of rabbits that are eating the grass. "All this flying around has made me hungry.", Dennis said.
However, it turns out that what grass doesn't really taste very good, as Dennis soon wipes the chewed grass off his tongue. "Well, I guess this is the life.", Dennis said with disappointment.
Soon, Dennis' mood soon changes as he introduced himself to his new animal friends. The introduction soon ends when Dennis soon smelled something very good.
Meanwhile, Mavis and Winnie are having a picnic, and the true reason they did this, is because they want to have Dennis back home. "Here Winnie, have some cake.", Mavis said, before noticing her son behind a bush.
"There's my son,", Mavis whispered, "Say your lines.". Winnie actually took this literally, as she pulled out a script and read the following: "'Why thank you Auntie Mavis, I would like one.' (grab plate). 'Too bad Dennis isn't here. This is his favorite. I sure wish he comes back home.' (take bite).".
As Winnie tried to eat a piece of cake, she screamed, "I can't do it! Dennis, come back!". "I'm not coming back home.", Dennis said, and Winnie interrupted, "But I miss you. Your mom misses you, and even Quasimodo misses you!".
Meanwhile, Quasimodo and Abraham were holding a 'Dennis is Gone Forever' party, however while the chef was excited, Abraham wasn't. "Why are you celebrating!?", Quasimodo asked, to which Abraham said that he kinda missed Dennis. "Don't care!", Quasimodo said, knowing that the whole fire from before started, because of Dennis' stupidity.
"I'm happy here.", Dennis said, "This is my home now.". Mavis now had to drag a depressed Winnie back to the hotel, and the little werewolf didn't say anything else but, "DENNIS!!!!".
Soon, Dennis was wearing a suit similar to Tarzan, and he is ready to play with his new friends, but then there was a commotion in the forest, and out popped Winnie.
This wasn't the same Winnie who is friends with Dennis, as she is now red in the face, and holds Ol' Reliable in her paws. "Winnie, what are you doing?!", Dennis asked with fear.
"If I can't have you as a friend...", Winnie said, "I'm going to make you a trophy!", and soon pulled out a jar, "I even found a nice little jar for you to live in.". "Winnie, please go home. I live in the forest now!", Dennis said, as he tried to get away from the net.
Dennis tried to hide, but most of the hiding spots he found, Winnie can see him easily. Soon, Dennis hid under a rock structure shaped like an arch, and catches his breath. Dennis soon looks up and noticed Winnie with a savage look.
"I've got you now, Dennis!", she said, but Dennis kept on running away. Soon, he went into a hive of some kind, and Winnie tried to use her net, but no matter how high she jumped, the hive was up to high.
"Okay!", Winnie cried with tears in her eyes, "You can stay here, and I hope you're happy!", she said, as she broke the net, and walked away with sadness in her heart.
"That was a close one.", Dennis said with relief, before noticed a goopy drop of sweet liquid fall on his face. It was revealed to be honey, and Dennis started to gobble up most of it. Soon, he hears buzzing sounds getting closer to the hive. "Oh, it might be my butterfly friends!", Dennis said.
"Wait, these are butterflies!", Dennis said, as he realized that he was inside a hive full of bees. Dennis soon got stung all over, as he tried to flee from the bees that think that Dennis was stealing their honey.
Now all tired, Dennis goes into a cave in order to go to sleep. "Boy, being a wild animal sure is fun.", Dennis said in a voice that proves he wasn't having fun.
As Dennis tried to go to sleep, he started to miss everyone he loves back home, including his warm bed, his friends, and his family, but while he was thinking, he got an itching sensation all over his body.
"I'm itchy, why are I so itchy?", Dennis asked to himself, before realizing that the makeshift blanket he was using was full of ants. "Ants!", he screamed, and tried to stop the itching, and after that he decided to go back home.
As Dennis walked back to the hotel, he kept on thinking of all the things he had gave up, just to live with wildlife. "What have I done?", he said, "I had a great life and friends, and I gave all of that up!".
Dennis soon opened the door to the main lobby, and noticed that while he was gone, everyone has thrown him a 'Welcome Back' party. "Welcome home, Dennis!", everyone cheered.
"You guys are the best!", Dennis said, "I've made a huge mistake, can you please forgive me?". "Quit your worrying, and have yourself something to eat.", Dracula said, as he showed Dennis a huge feast that everyone made, and it contained all of Dennis' favorite foods.
"But before you eat,", Mavis interrupted, holding up Dennis' shirt and shorts, "Can you do us all a big favor?". "Don't mind if I do.", Dennis said, as he went to the bathroom to change. "Ta-da!", he said, and hugged his mother.
"That's nice, son.", Mavis said, as everyone soon joined in, even the people who don't normally get along with Dennis also gave hugs. "Is it just me, or do I feel something crawling on me?", Abraham said, hinting that maybe a few ants were still on Dennis.
"Winnie itchy!", Winnie said, and everyone soon got an itching sensation, while Dennis said, "It's great to be home!".
