Later that day Peter was going up to his apartment and was protesting being arm in arm with Liz who decided to insist on helping him walk to his apartment. "Come on Liz; I am not some child who needs to be walked home by a carer and especially not by my girlfriend..." complained Peter to Liz who was not relenting.
"Please just me Petey; was so worried when I found you last night and I want to make sure that you get home safely this time. No dragging you home and having to strip you down while you were out of it..." Liz replied and Peter looked at the concerned and pleading face that she had and decided to relent.
"Okay but since we are both superheroes; you know that we will be alright and I certainly don't need help just getting home but I do appreciate it..." Peter told her with a smile and her face turned to a smile but soon they got to the apartment door and heard the sounds of loud party music inside making them take a step back in surprise.
Peter then slowly opened the door and they were open mouthed to see all the people inside and there was multicolour lights everywhere. "What is... What are you all doing in my place?" Peter yelled out and they jumped as crawling from the wall was a man with green skin and dark green warts; he then used a long tongue to catch a fly to eat as they were close to barfing out.
"Hey Peter and you brought a guest! Welcome to the big party!" Myers said meeting them from behind with arms around their shoulders and wearing a party hat. "See that you met Toad; don't mind him as he's a Mutant. Could be the next big superhero if he wanted to." Myers explained pointing to Toad who waved at him.
"Fred... What is going on because I certainly don't remember us ever having discussed this in OUR apartment..." Peter asked gritting his teeth and making sure to emphasize the word.
"Just a little surprise and say... This your girlfriend? Isn't she like the princess of Alchemax; her parents bought out the Green Goblin's company?" Myers asked and a grinning man went up to Liz.
"You look like a girl who needs someone to treat her like a million bucks..." the guy asked as Liz and Peter then then glared at him as Liz pushed him back.
"No thanks as I already get treated like that by my boyfriend here!" Liz said as she then took Peter's arm to his room and the door was slammed. "So your roommate... I don't think that you will be able to get any rest..." Liz muttered and then they heard a signal as Peter got out from the hiding spot the police scanner which picked up a signal about a report of a Captain America statue involving a cloaked person sending out bees.
"Having been happier to deal with some new D-list villain of the week..." Peter muttered as he got his suit out from his bag and put the police scanner back.
"I will try and find somewhere to change outside but are you sure that you will be alright as what if Fred finds you missing from the room." Liz asked going to the door as Peter didn't look worried.
"I will lock my door after you and the music should block out the sounds of me changing and going through the window. Besides my time with Fred so far had me realised that he's an absolute idiot. I am sure that if he was just lying on the couch then I could just change behind him and he wouldn't notice a thing..." Peter assured her and Liz nodded as she shut the door. "Feeling angrier at my new roommate than the bad guy I am going to go and find to beat..." Peter muttered shaking his head as he got changed.
In a car was John driving his wife and son all the way home from dinner at a restaurant and he couldn't help but wonder when was the OZ formula supposed to kick in. "I can't help but think about the meat being a little dry..." Mary Jane was telling him and John's eyes widened as he felt his grip harder on the driving wheel and he definitely felt stronger. Must be the OZ kicking in.
Then they heard sirens as there were police cars driving by and John couldn't help but get an idea as he grinned; "John... What are you doing..." Mary Jane asked incredulously as John changed route to follow them.
"Come on MJ; aren't you the least bit curious about what the buzz is?" John asked as Mary Jane was dumbstruck; wondering if he was feeling alright.
Across the alleyway of the facility that Octavius was working at; there was Phin watching from an alleyway with binoculars wearing a purple jumper and a black jacket with the hood up. She jumped as she was tapped on the shoulder and turned around to see Miles in his own hooded jacket. "You sure took your time getting here; I sent that text like almost an hour ago..." Phin smirked as Miles looked at her.
"Easy for you to say; do you know how hard it is sneaking out of a private school dorm?" Miles whispered back as she showed him the facility. "So there it is... Alchemax's new workplace for out of prison bad guys... Wonder if it should be called the Reformed Evil Labs..." Miles joked as they heard something and saw a delivery truck drive by. They hid in an alleyway as the truck parked by the facility.
They took the chance to hide behind the truck and move around to watch as the driver got out and met with a worker at the facility to sign some papers. Phin got out her phone and zoomed in to use some sort of app on the worker's place as it showed Max Dillon's profile. "So that's Electro... The guy that called himself the God of Electricity... Wonder if he provides free power to the place..." Phin joked to Miles but they found themselves having their shoulders got a hold of.
"Not really as he has a fancy vest to stop him from using his powers as part of his parole but I wonder if you two youngsters are out here with your parents' permission..." said a voice and they turned around were stunned to see Aaron there in his security uniform and he looked suspicious at them as he put down their hoods. "Phin... Miles... Did you get your hair braided..." questioned Aaron as they were shocked to see him and Miles took a hold of his hair braids.
"Something I am trying out but... Uncle Aaron? You work security here?" Miles asked as Aaron nodded but there was a police car driving by and stopped and Miles started to panic as he recognised the cop inside.
"Phin? Miles Gonzalo Morales!" shouted Jefferson and Miles knew that the full name used by the parent was always a sign of how much trouble you were in. He then saw Aaron and his mood worsened and he said "what are you doing with the kids Aaron? Haven't you given us enough grief for the family?"
"Jeff...I promise that I didn't plan this... I was going off my shift when I found them sneaking about on the inside and I didn't even know who they were until I got a closer look!" Aaron protested with his hands up as Jeff looked stern. "My word is not good enough... I understand..."Aaron sighed.
"It's the truth dad; Uncle Aaron just caught us..." Miles told his father and Jefferson turned to his son.
"It's the truth Captain Davis; it was my idea to begin with. I texted Miles the idea to sneak out and spy on the villain workplace." Phin clarified as Jefferson took them aside and motioned for Aaron to be on his way and he nodded.
"Have to say that I am disappointed and you two; you have been given opportunities for a bright future with your charter schools and you decide to jeopardise that by sneaking out? What if you were caught spying and got into trouble; what if some dangerous person found you..." Jefferson asked them disappointed as they put their heads down.
"Dad... I am sorry but...Just wanted to be more free and I feel that I didn't belong at the school as I only got in due to a lottery. Phin is the genius out of the two of us who got in with her own smarts..." Miles answered as Phin looked his way.
"I reminded him about how he passed the entrance exam..." Phin brought up as Jefferson looked at her and back to his son.
"Miles listen... I see a bright kid who doesn't quite understand how bright he truly is and at your age... Your uncle and I made some bad choices but he didn't know when to stop and I am worried about if you keep doing these risks then you could end up like him... Plus how dangerous it is in the city and especially at night; I fear more than anything losing you or things between us ending up like your brother and I..." Jefferson told him softly and coughed. "How about I take you both back and then when I get home I just might consider letting this slide and not talk to your mother about how much trouble you are in. If you're lucky then I will try and be the one to answer the call from your school when they realise that you snuck out..." Jefferson said taking them to his police car but there was a call coming.
An alert about a bee villain nearby; "Damn the area is where I would need to pass on the way to get you there by car... I trust you two can walk back as bringing you both to an active crime situation even with you staying in a car is a reckless irresponsible act that I am not prepared to try... Use the long way around as right now it's safer..." Jefferson told them and they nodded as he then got in to drive off; he was clearly in a panicked state and not thinking straight about how to go about it.
"Maybe if we take the right route then we could get a glimpse of Spider-Man coming in while being safe enough away?" Phin suggested to Miles and he ended up thinking about it.
At a Captain America statue in Brooklyn that was set up as a memorial after World War II when he was believed to have died (officially KIA); there was a figure in gold and black full body armor in a purple hooded cloak who was sending out bees to attack it. "Fly my swarm; destroy this monument of someone who failed his potential. He could have been the ultimate aryan..." the figure said with his voice being humming sounds mimicking talking which sounded metallic and fake.
"So... Are you trying to be like the new Green Goblin with that cloak because the Yellow and Black Goblin doesn't have the same ring to it.." Peter asked jumping down as the figure looked at him.
"So you are the supposed Spider-Man? Feel the wrath of the ultimate tool of destruction for the Allied nations... I am SWARM!" the figure said as Peter just looked at him as the figure noticeably was frustrated at how unaffected he was by his speech including passerbys and reporters along with officers. "You all shall hear my tale as back during the War; I was Fritz Von Meyer one of the greatest minds of the Fuhrer's 3rd Reich but after the war; I escaped Germany and under a false name I came across a top secret lab beyond what the rest of the world were able to build at the time. They were working to control bees in the Symbiotic Warfare Anthophila Restraining Model project; a specialised suit that would link mind to the specialised bees. The experiments done to me and linking me to the suit but an accident and I was left in a vegative state while the lab was destroyed; my body becoming a hive for the bees that mutated but my mind was linked to the suit and throughout the years I have been able to control them to get out and get the resources for them to be able to fix me up and find a power source to get me up and running as an immortal instrument of destruction for the world that it is so I can bring back a glorious new Nazi empire!" SWARM explained as Peter stared and started to burst out laughing which got SWARM furious at the gall.
"Thanks man... The night I had last night... I think that I needed a ridiculous Nazi bee guy to fight because oh man... I know you Nazis were idiots but you think that the best way to create a new Nazi empire was to... Control bees?" Peter asked holding his stomach and SWARM noticed the crowd laughing as well making him mad.
He then started sending out bees to Peter that he kept dodging and began webbing up SWARM; "You can't stop me Spider-Man; I can produce hives of bees from my body under my control and can you stop them all as they go after the crowds?" SWARM asked sending out more and more bees from his hand and they went after the people with Peter wondering what to do as the police started evacuating the people.
However from the crowds was John who jumped out of his car with his family following him and he felt his size growing faster making him smirk; John pushed past the crowd and then tackled SWARM to the ground. "Buddy; recall your swarm or else we will see how immortal you are..." threatened John as there were looks of disbelief at John including Peter.
"What... Colonel Jameson..." Peter asked as John flashed him a smile.
"Been feeling my powers returned and now it's the long awaited return of Colonel Jupiter..." John said growing more in size and then yelled out in pain; he looked and saw his hands becoming claw like and his ears changing. "What..." John yelled out in fright as he felt himself becoming more animal like in his thoughts and his senses. John then started on his skin growing silver fur and his grip on SWARM ended up crushing the zombie like man's suit and the grip on his neck ended up snapping it. John then let go and as he looked like a silver furred werewolf; he then let out a howl...
Toad's appearance comes from the Wolverine and the X Men cartoon and SWARM's appearance comes from Spider-Man: City at War the comic adaptation of the Insomniac game's story and there was a page that I think was a special extra at the back of an issue (not part of the trade at least) that explained his powers and the acronym. Plus yes; I am using Myers as a send up of what bad roommates are like in media.
