Peter then took hold of the claw attachment and ripped it away from Alistair's chair; "Get him!" Landon ordered as Alistair then put into the controls for the SS robots to fire at Peter and Peter had to keep dodging as they were sending laser blasts at him. Peter got onto the top of one of the robots and punched at hte back but it felt quite hard so he had to really punch at it to mess with the circuits while dodging the legs of another robot coming for him as it smashed the robot that Peter was on.
"I have made improvements to the designs since that day years ago Spider-Man; the Spider Slayers as I have declared them shall meet your end!" Alistair taunted with a grin as Peter had to keep dodging blasts but found Landon running to escape while pressing a button to start Hank's cage dropping into the vat.
Peter then shot a web at the door blocking Landon's escape before he could reach it; "You really need to fire someone in PR because who thought that going along with publicly calling the robots SS was a good idea? Did no know what Hitler's guard was called? Then again; you are an anti-Mutant bigot so..." Peter quipped as he then jumped up to the top of the cage and had to really pully to get the bars open to help Hank get out.
"Thanks for the assistance Spider-Man and sorry that you got tangled up in this mess as well." Hank told him gratefully as Peter got him to the ground and Peter noticed that Landon was going for a gun so he sent a web to his hand and pulled him closer to punch him.
Then more blasts coming Peter's way and that of Hank's as well so they had to keep dodging and Peter ended up dodging in front of the vat which had a blast at it. Then another Spider Slayer robot came to strike at him with the leg as it was close to crushing the vat.
"What are your robots doing Alistair? That chemical is the cure to the Mutant gene! Be careful as it will be your head as we lose this batch before testing..." Landon yelled but Smythe ended up putting in a command that caused the nearest Spider Slayer to Landon to push him hard wards the vat and it ended crushing it as it poured right onto him.
"What... What have you done..." Landon yelled as Peter and Hank looked on in horror as Landon grew in size as his skin started becoming dark orange rock like destroying his clothes. "What is going on... This was supposed to destroy Mutant cells but I did the calculations... This wasn't supposed to do anything to human cells..." Landon roared out with his voice becoming raspier as he charged at the area destroying Spider Slayer robots and Landon activated a hover component on his chair flying him out of a door on the ceiling that closed down.
Then there was an alert of a self destruct as Landon roared charging to attack Hank and Peter as they tried to restrain him with Peter's Spider-Sense going off the charts. "You have become what you hated my old friend..." Hank muttered as there was a massive explosion on the floor as Peter jumped up and shot a web to catch Hank as he was caught but became unconscious. Peter then got to a door with an en emergency exit as he then pulled Hank through and eventually tot he ground of the Brand Corporation building on fire as he then pulled him out.
It seemed that a full evacuation had happened with the workers inside which was good and Peter managed to be picked up by Liz in her suit look stern at him as he was sheepish underneath his mask. "As soon as possible; I want a full explanation but are you both alright?" Liz asked her voice going soft and Peter sighed as he nodded.
The next morning Peter was meeting up with Liz outside the ESU building as he had his face down; "You did the best you could Petey and we have doctors at the Institute looking over Professor McCoy; I texted Professor Xavier and he said that after some recovery once he wakes up he will be fine..." Liz tried to reassure Peter and he nodded.
They then saw mutterings from fellow students with the phones and looked at one with a breaking story from DBC News about the last night's incidents. "While the events of last night at the Brand Corporation building's remain a mystery and representatives of the X-Men have given a statement that Professor Hank McCoy shall make a recovery; representatives of the Brand Corporation have given out recovered security footage from the building amongst those that have been corrupted." Peter and Liz were eyes widened as the footage showed cameras from outside the building Peter breaking in through the vents and then it showed the cameras from inside the facility catching Peter webbing Landon's hand and pulling him in for a punch.
"...Of all the doctored..." Peter thought furiously that they would be spinning this as it continued.
"The representatives have said that Professor McCoy was invited to the building for a meeting with the company's Chief Operating Officer Herbert Landon who was gone missing since the explosion but the footage recovered paints a damning picture. Mayor Edward Saks has called for an immediate warrant for Spider-Man to come forward for the investigation into the events and will be giving the New York Police Department's Enhanced Crimes Task Force permission to take him into custody by force if he doesn't comply." said the reporter as Peter and Liz were furious about this.
The Brand Corporation set him up and now the Slayer robots would be legally allowed to hunt him down and it made him worried; will be like when Jameson first became Mayor but much worst. "In other shocking but related news; to directly work with Mayor Saks in his company's partnership with the city's government is the mysterious CEO and owner of the Brand Corporation who is none other than the 19 year old prodigal son of the disgraced Osborn legacy himself Harry Osborn making his return to his birthplace..." said the reporter and this left Peter and Liz speechless.
Inside a lab in the main headquarters of the Brand Corporation was Harry Osborn smirking as he was with Ratha and Alistair overlooking a containment tube where Landon's body was being stored for study and experimentation. "So you were able to hack into Landon's research and change his date without him knowing?" Alistair asked amused and Harry shot him a look.
"'Hacking' is not really accurate since this is my company and Landon's research was the company's property and by extension my property but yeah I used my top level security clearance to have his data changed. If he was able to create an airborne kill method for all Mutants then... That means less Mutant criminals and the more Mutant criminals out there and the more we can argue to justify having your creations be part of law enforcement and more PR for the company." Harry answered as Alistair came forward.
"You gave me an escape route and warned me that Landon was given a different idea for the plan than what was to happen. Landon's creation backfiring on him; not what was expected but still him being left a sacrificial lamb." Alistair said as Ratha looked towards Alistair.
"Landon had enough clout to be able to use the footage to justify the warrant against Spider-Man; no matter how fake something appears to be there will alwasy be those that fall for it. A reputation tainted and your creations will be able to hunt him." Ratha told Alistair as he grinned.
"I am thankful for as long as the Mayor doesn't change his mind." Alistair said as Harry snickered.
"I have come across dirt on his dealings and came to him months ago revealing what I have on him hidden away; trust me he is pretty much a puppet to me right now. The Brand Corporation shall be running the city and I can get to work overshadowing Alchemax which is what everyone calls my birthright's corpse owned by the Allans." Harry replied and then suddenly looked serious. "They did that after Spider-Man murdered my father; just as he did your's Alistair. Two kindred spirits and along with Rajit; I want you by my side as we have our vengeance!" Harry told Alistair who looked like that he was all in for his idea.
While the adaptation of the Mutant Agenda story had Landon turn into an electricity craving monster and end up as Smythe's replacement as the Kingpin's main henchman while resembling Two-Face; in the original newspaper comic storyline turned comic miniseries, Landon had become a Thing like rock monster.
