Harry took a breath to fortify himself.
"Please wait until the end to say something. I just really want to be able to get it all out before I chicken out or something," turning to Greyback, "could you give me and my godfathers space to talk, and then we could join you two? It's not that I want to keep things from you but I don't think I am ready to tell you everything quite yet"
Remus and Sirius nodded in acceptance. However, Greyback was a lot more uncertain. He didn't want his mate to be hiding things from him. He paused and then realized that he bit Harry and was probably one of the things that Harry wanted to tell his godfathers…he nodded in acceptance. Remus waved his wand and created a small privacy ward. The other two werewolves would be able that they are talking but not know what exactly was being said. Harry nodded at Remus in appreciation.
"So I guess I should start by explaining what Dumbledore has been teaching me this past year." Remus and Sirius exchanged glances because they didn't even know that Dumbledore was teaching him at all. "He was teaching me about Horcruxes. Apparently, Tom Riddle made 7-ish in his quest for immortality. I don't know what all of them are but Dumbledore and I had some ideas. We went to explore a cave that Riddle had been to when he was a boy. We thought that it was a likely location. The cave was honestly a nightmare! At first, it wasn't too bad but there was this potion that Dumbledore had to drink. It was ghastly. He kept begging me not to make him drink but he also had told me that I had to ignore him until it was done. But then I was so stupid! Dumbledore told me not to go into the water but I forgot it when he was asking me for water. The water was full of inferi and if it wasn't for Hermione I wouldn't have known about incendio. We barely got out of there alive." He had gotten so close to death that night and he knew that the image of the rotting corpses was going to stay with him. His arms were wrapped around him and Harry seemed to pull himself in an effort to make himself smaller.
"...We got to Hogwarts and something felt weird but we still went out separate ways. I think Dumbledore was going to talk to me about the necklace later because he still looked ill… I am pretty sure Dumbledore has- or rather he had the necklace that night." Harry's eyebrows pulled together. He had forgotten about that fact until this moment. "Anyway, I was walking back to the tower when I was attacked by a werewolf. Can you believe that Snape was the one to find me and heal me after?" Sirius definitely looked like he had something to say about that but Remus slapped his hand over his mouth to keep him quiet. Harry chuckled at their antics.
"We were heading to get medical attention when we caught sight of deatheaters. I am pretty sure that Malfoy, that ferret, let them in! I knew that he was up to something! He had been acting shifty for so long, but everyone just thought my hatred of him was blinding me or some nonsense. We followed the deatheters to the headmaster and then Snape pulled his wand on me and body-bind me! He then killed Dumbledore and I was just frozen… I couldn't do anything." Harry looked away but both Remus and Sirius could see the tears in his eyes and the trembling in his voice.
"Oh, pup." Sirius pulled Harry into his arms. Sirius wasn't sure what he could say. What Harry witnessed was hard to deal with as an adult but as a teenager? There were just too many things to say and he didn't know how to say any of them. Sirius chose to comfort him and then help him process it later.
Harry was a bit stiff but could't help but let out some sobs. This was the first time that he felt like he could cry. Dumbledore wasn't always his favorite person but he always did what he thought was best. Not everyone agreed with him but Harry always felt that he could depend on Dumbledore.
Harry then wiped the tears from his face with the back of his hand and tried to contain his tears. HIs voice still sounded thick with emotion but no more tears were shed.
Harry continued the story, "It was just too much so I left. I wasn't thinking straight so I just ran to the forest. But I didn't know that Bellatrix Lestrange had seen me and followed me. I reached the courtyard before she caught up with me. She's definitely formidable…also batshit insane but I suppose you guys knew that."
By this point, Remus' and Sirius' eyes were both watery. Their pup should not have had to go through this. Sirius tightened his arms around Harry. No matter what happened that night, Harry was here and clearly okay but Bellatrix gave aurors a run for their money.
"We exchanged many spells and at first she was just playing with me, taunting me, but soon she started taking it more seriously. Throwing out insane spells like small bursts of Fiendfyre and some crucios. I had no clue how I was going to get out of that situation. I couldn't run with her so close but I knew that I wasn't really a match for her. Then I was saved. The same wolf that attacked me ripped into her wand arm! It was both brutal and amazing…I don't think that too many people deserve a fate like that, but Bellatrix might be one of them." Thinking about Bellatrix made Harry think of Neville and his parents. She had done some truly evil things.
"Anyway, I think he saved my life because Bellatrix had me with my back to the wall and I had no clue what I was going to do… I was feeling a bit dizzy so I don't really know what happened after that. I think what happened was the wolf led me to safety and cleaned up my clothes and stuff. I have been spending time with Fenrir and he has been helping me with like hunting food and he said that he was going to bring me back to Hogwarts. Although he only agreed to that if I agreed to think about joining his pack…he says that we are mates." Harry felt the blood rush to his face and knew that he was blushing.
Remus was trying to absorb all of the facts and some things immediately stood out to him. First was that the wolf that bit him and the one that saved him were not only the same wolf but that wolf was Fenrir Greyback. Second was that Harry was trying to avoid saying that it was Greyback and third was that Harry was not opposed to being Fenrir Greyback's mate. Remus knew his opinion was clouded by the fact that he didn't like Greyback and he was still trying to adjust to all that Greyback had told him.
Sirius was determined to be the one to kill his cousin. Bella had been a pain in his ass for as long as he could remember and now she was trying to kill his godson! No way was he going to let that happen. By Merlin, he was going to make sure she never got close to prongslet again!
Harry tried to lean away from Sirus' hug to watch their faces. He could see that it looked like they were bouncing around different emotions.
"Wow, pup, you really know how to end a school year with a bang," Remus huffed in amusement, "so that is a lot of information to process. I guess to start with: are you okay?"
Harry nodded and Sirius narrowed his eyes at him as if he could tell if Harry was lying.
"Good. Do you think you could give us some space to talk to each other really quick and then we'll talk it over with the three of us?"
That made sense to Harry so he left the bubble of privacy and sat near Greyback.
"So?" Greyback asked.
"Well I told them everything that happened over the past few weeks but I think they needed to talk to each other so when they scold me they're on the same page." Harry looked a bit sheepish at this confession.
Greyback chuckled, "And do you have done things that needed to be scolded for?"
Harry looked at the ground, "I think so. I mean I don't know what else I could have done, but I also know that they don't always agree with me. I think sometimes they would rather I was more selfish but if someone needs help, I can't leave them!"
Greyback nodded. Yes, his pup was going to be a handful if this was a recurring issue.
