X heads to a very cold village in order to take back an abandoned hunter base.

Hammerfast, Norway

X arrives in the chilly town before getting a call from Cici.

Cici: X, the Hunter Base in this town has been overrun by Mavericks. You must hurry!

X: Roger that!

X begins his journey through the snowy tundra by taking down the numerous enemies in front of him. Thanks to the speech Zero gave him, it enabled him to regain confidence and ultimately, begin his fight for the world's future.

After taking out another few enemies, he finds a cave.

X: Cici, I'm going in!

Cici: Alright X, Proceed with caution!

X enters the cave only to find several Batton Bones in his way. He finishes them all off with a charge shot. After hitting a light switch, the illumination of the room shows the abandoned base.

X: Wow, they must have left this place years ago.

Just then, some Spikeys and Jammingers come out of nowhere and begin to attack. X takes them down one by one and continues to advance through the beat down place. As he gets up to the top, a blue capsule comes out of the ground. X advances toward the capsule. Then, the capsule shows a hologram of the one who created him, Dr. Light.

Dr. Light: So, you're here. X, when I designed you, I gave you an ability that no other robot had at the time, the power to think, feel and make decisions yourself. While I wished that it would be used in a peaceful world, it seems now we have no choice but to fight. Because of this, I have given you boots to increase your speed. Good Luck X! You are the world's only hope!

The hologram disappears and X enters the capsule. A bolt comes down from the sky as X's legs become more powerful. X, blessed by this newfound strength, continues his journey.

After encountering a Flammingles and Jammingers, he exits the cave only to see a wall near him. He hops over it only to see a Ride Armor. Suddenly, he gets a flashback from his fight with Vile.

(flashback begins)

X screams as Vile grabs him with the Ride Armor.

Vile: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, X! You thought you could beat me with your weapons, could you? WRONG! My Ride Armor is far stronger than you!

(end flashback)

X: God if only I had one of those to fight effectively.

X hops into the Ride Armor and uses it to fight against several enemies and other Ride Armor warriors. They all go down with ease. As X advances, he sees another cave. He enters the cave only to see Chill Penguin.

X (surprised): Chill Penguin! What are you doing here?

Chill Penguin: Our Lord Sigma has promised me several things for the destruction of the world. I'll gladly work for him over you!

X: Why? Dammit! Looks like I have to fight.

The fight begins with Penguin sliding on the ground. X jumps on the wall to avoid it and counterattacks.

Penguin: Shotgun Ice!

Penguin fires it and is successful in hitting X. He gets back and narrowly avoids another. Penguin then proceeds to jump on the ring above him and cause a blizzard. X, blinded by the snow, begins to shoot into thin air, hoping to score a hit on Penguin. After that fails, Penguin forms ice sculptures and pushes them back at X. He dodges them and finishes him off with a charge shot, causing Penguin to explode.

X: Base. Come in! Mission Complete! I'm returning to base now!

X teleports out of the icy tundra and returns to the base.

X: Cici!

He goes to say Hi to her, but she turns him away.

X: What's wrong?

Cici: X, I don't feel like talking to you right now.

X: Why?

Cici gives him an icy stare before talking

Cici: Because I feel like you're not spending enough time with me.

X: I try every chance I get, but my job is so busy that I have to stay occupied with it.

Cici: WELL, I DON'T CARE OK! I NEED MORE OR I AM LEAVING YOU!

Cici leaves in a rage while X, not understanding what he is doing wrong, contemplates.

That night he goes back to his apartment and tries to think of ways to mend their relationship.

X (thinking): Could it be that she's right or is it that I'm just too busy to date anyone? Am I not good enough to date anyone? I don't know.

X then turns out the light and goes to sleep.
