New Cape spotted. (Link) Green giantess, obvious brute is obvious. Interrupts shootout between BBPD and E88 gangers.

Edit #1: New Cape is named Tarot per BBPD.(Link)

Edit #2: (Link) Tarot gets shot in face, gets mad, increases in size and lifts getaway vehicle overhead and shakes it like a terrier with a caught rat.

I've met Tarot. I have permission to confirm that the Brute form is Brute 7 variable. The madder she gets, the stronger she gets.

Also that she's a minor, despite the green form being very obviously adult female.

I'm not making jokes because I've seen her when she's angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry.

Those maracas can't be real, can they?

Are super-boobs a power?

Bans and infractions haven't had an effect, you haven't earned a perma-ban, so maybe a custom tag to remind you of your problems? Remember she's a minor.

That almost seems a reward rather than a punishment.

Adding new (Link) showing golden skinned flying blaster doing a good Purity imitation as she breaks up one of Squealer's scrap-tanks. According to BBPD this also is Tarot. What the heck?

Just authorized for some information release. This is Tarot shown in the link. Tarot is a Changer/Trump who can shift between established forms, each with a different powerset. She has declined Ward membership but continues to work alongside the PRT. The PRT would like to thank Tarot for her cooperation with us and continuing to uphold the standards of heroes as much as she can while she learns to utilize her somewhat chaotic abilities.

The Brute package looks to be mid-twenties in age. The Blaster package I'd guess is about 19 or so. We're told the cape herself is a minor. I admit I'm very curious myself as a Changer/Brute myself as to how many of these "packages" she can do and why the variable age. My own form resembles a humanoid stag beetle after all, but doesn't change my age so far as I can tell. Also, my emotions seem to be muted or something when I'm changed - so does Tarot experience the same thing?

I'm not mentioning her name, but it's commonly known at Winslow.

I'm curious about the name Tarot though, is it because of the cards? If it is, then she probably has 22 forms? That's a lot.

Authorization of release of video (link) has been given to avoid public panic when Tarot's "Moon" form is encountered.

Enjoy.

So...

Jade Giantess is the Brute, Golden Flier is the Blaster, and Pants-crapping Terror is a Striker?

So she's a Trump who has a form for each power category?

I take it that she has limits but you aren't advertising what they are because she IS a hero and ally?

►Reave (Verified PRT Agent)

What you've got is basically what I can release.

Though personally I'll add that seeing "Moon" move that selling her as a Striker is kind of understating what she can do. Exact ratings and abilities are, of course, classified at present time.

Was able to observe Tarot during a fight with the Merchants. Apparently Tarot was on patrol when encountering an attempted mugging by Merchants.

Tarot pulled a card out of thin air. Moonlight streamed down despite the clouds. Transformation to Moonwolf.

Moonwolf has a Mover rating as she can leap a good twenty feet, Striker rating from the claws and bite, enhanced senses so that's a Thinker score, and was able to tank some shots while regenerating from the few shots that penetrated - minor Brute rating there. After the fight, Moonwolf vanished and reappeared near my position - further indication of enhanced senses as I was pretty well hidden. The whole move-quickly and silently might qualify for a Stranger rating.

Excuse the shaky video and phone fumbling (Link) because I was a bit shaky at the time. Mainly because I look up and suddenly have a freaking huge WEREWOLF sniffing me.

An associate of mine who is very familiar with canine behavior indicated that this wasn't an attack and that Moonwolf was just checking me and my friends out. I'm personally glad of this as being within arm's reach of something that looks that dangerous made me acutely uncomfortable and hoping I did not smell particularly appetizing.

My Moonwolf persona wants you to carry Tabasco or Sriracha sauce in case it becomes necessary.

Just kidding. Mostly.

Thanks for the "Moonwolf" name. Wolfie thanks you too.

We're happy to eat you. I mean 'meet you' - as long as you stay friendly.

Since you describe your forms as "personas" I take it they have distinct personalities and names?

Some of you know me, I provide footage of events due to a helmet-cam I run. Mostly I'm a neighborhood-class cape, with my ability to form hammerspace pockets and pull all sorts of crap out in an emergency. So I load down with gadgets like my helmet-cam and that tinker-tech jetpack.

My first Endbringer fight and it's the Simurgh and in Australia. A place with a reputation for an ecosystem composed of Dangerous, Poisonous, and Sheep. A place and a battle where I feel utterly inadequate to the task ahead. Fighting an Endbringer with a tinkertech potato gun. So, as you might imagine, nervous as hell.

So I get to talking to one of the others (Link) who happens to be this Tarot girl and like me is a fairly new cape to the scene. New kid, very young, seems like she's nice behind all the nervous. She gets called away after a few, after we've exchanged how mind-bogglingly scary it is facing the Perversion of Hope and how we're hoping to basically not die or get turned into Ziz-bombs.

So the Simurgh shows up and I see Tarot up there with the Triumvirate and she draws a card.

The Simurgh becomes the SECOND scariest thing in the area.

Tarot became Death, capital D, the embodiment of the act of shuffling off this mortal coil. The Bringer of the Past Tense. The Expiration Stamp Incarnate. The Final Call. The Last Train From Clarkston. You could see it, feel it, and the Simurgh took one look at it and took off at such speeds that we were all startled by the sudden set of sonic booms caused by that. Everyone present is quite aware that right there in our midst is the Fourth Horseman of the Freaking Apocalypse.

Then Death says "No" in the sort of voice that carried despite our ears ringing from the boom and just makes a gesture. (Link) If you haven't seen it on the news yet, yes - that is the Simurgh. That is the Simurgh dead as far as anyone can tell, her body beginning to fall apart. No muss, no fuss, no use running because freaking Death knows exactly where you are.

At which point Death turns back to Tarot and Legend catches her before she can hit the pavement. Unconscious. I'm guessing that becoming "Death the destroyer of worlds" is kind of a strain.

Everyone was quiet as hell for a few moments, then some few give with the applause but everyone was still a bit shaken up.

Me, I'm not drinking. Because if I do I might see THAT again, and that scares the crap out of me even worse than the Simurgh does. Did.

I'm also going back to patrols where the worst thing I have to face are gangbangers and the occasional local villain like Necrodancer.

I hate you, Presto. Some day I will make you and Ghost Bear rue the day we crossed paths!

That day's going to be off a few months though, because even here in my secret base I felt the world groan under the weight of an avatar of Death. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure Tarot is nowhere nearby when I enact my latest Villainous Plan. I can do no less as your dedicated Arch-Enemy.

It's a living. Decent hours and I get to use my Drama training. Occasionally get to throw in some Shakespeare and such. Beats working at McDonald's.

The PRT actually has some rules and guidelines about PR-safe villainry and keeping from getting a kill order and how to be labeled a "general nuisance" instead of being a "okay to shoot" bad guy. A lot of it makes sense. You can get more out of an ATM than robbing a bank with people in it.

First off, thanks to the mods for the new personalized tag.

It's in other threads but I'm going to mention it here, because most of the details have come out now. The Slaughterhouse Nine came to Brockton Bay the first week of this month. This is bad.

They were here to recruit. I was on the short list. This is very bad.

They were here to recruit me and were apparently going to kill my family as part of that. Bonesaw had some viral nastiness to unleash and planned on having the members of my family eat each other due to that virus basically doing the "zombie apocalypse" trope. This is no longer something that "bad" sufficiently covers.

Tarot saw them coming and tipped off the PRT. A sniper using a fifty caliber sniper rifle took out Jack Slash and Hatchetface at just over a mile away. I didn't even know snipers could do this without tinkertech being involved but apparently it's a thing. This is very good but also somewhat concerning in implication.

The other members of the Slaughterhouse Nine were still reacting when Tarot rode in. Tarot had drawn a new card that I was assured she had drawn before - so if you see a burning skeleton dressed in biker leathers driving a burning motorcycle get out of its way. This is her Judgement form as in Divine (or Infernal if I have the term right) Judgement.

Burnscar tried to take control of his flames. The result apparently involved a lot of screaming and there not even being a body left of Burnscar. This is a good thing and an indication that maybe soul-burning flames of Hell are not something a pyrokinetic should try their fire immunity against.

Judgement didn't even look at Shatterbird, just met Bonesaw's gaze for a moment as the latter was describing her virus bomb that would be let go if she died. I was called in to try and defuse such bombs and maybe regenerate her eyes after they'd been burned out of their sockets. That was pretty horrifying to see in person.

On the other hand, I met Judgement in passing at that point and was pronounced "innocent" and felt a lot better about myself than I'd felt in a very long time. Not entirely sure what happened there.

Something went on though. I could swear that something about Judgement scared my power more than it did me.

Crawler was apparently immune to normal fire but whatever Judgement uses isn't normal fire. As Burnscar and Bonesaw discovered.

The Siberian vanished at one point and hasn't been seen since.

So, Tarot and the PRT let my team know what had just happened but told us to hold off on any release of information until they had reasonable confidence that the various loose ends (such as a world-ending plague) were not going to show up.

Thanks to Tarot but I honestly hope I never meet Judgement or have to try and clean up what he does again.

Okay, that's a thing and seems to confirm the whole Changer-with-22-powersets thing that has been speculated about in some of the other threads.

Thing is that some of those forms have been recognized from pre-parahuman comic books and aleph sources.

That Brute (Strength card?) form she has demonstrated twice now is female but looks and has similar powers to a male character called "the Hulk" from the late 60s to early 70s.

Her Judgement form is apparently inspired by or is the Ghost Rider from the same company in the late 70s early 80s on Aleph.

Death is obvious.

Twice now she's appeared as someone who verbally identified himself as Etrigan. A guy named Jack Kirby on Aleph came up with a character called The Demon whose actual name was Etrigan. Matches up in general powers and appearance. Guessing this would be the Devil card.

The flying blaster form? Another Aleph character, this one early 90s as far as I can tell. Starfire, an alien princess superhero.

The buff girl with the shield and the patriotic theme? A distaff version of a guy named Captain America from comics back in the 40s.

The Moonwolf form is apparently the Moon card and no exact match for it exists. Another board made a comparison match to a video game called "Darkstalkers" which mostly matches her as the werewolf character.

The last one we've got documentation of her invoking and discovering was (link) the Emperor card and we've only got one match for that. An Aleph series called Fate/Stay that features a character with that general look, attitude, and powers. Gilgamesh, who looks a lot different from what you'd expect from his epic and Babylonian background. Someone able to summon weapons. Lots of weapons.

So we don't know what the mechanism is for this. Is she drawing from some Kant-esque common subconscious of the human race to manifest archetypes as was suggested by Ed_Baccarat over on SpiceBottles? Are these echoes of some legend or myth that actually exists out in some multiverse like our own All_Seeing_Eye suggested over in the Wild Guessing section of this site? Is Tarot the catspaw of some cosmic eldritch entity that exists just to poke people and laugh at the results like was suggested by Neko_Majin on the board over at Sufficient Acceleration? Most capes get a single power that they try to leverage for combat uses and never get past that.

Tarot can have a number of different powers and her main limitations seem to be the randomness and that each one seems to have some limit or drawback. When she was Starfire she actually was hurt and drained by Grue's darkness, something that surprised both of them apparently. In the clip above, she's arguing with herself as apparently this version of Gilgamesh has a bit of an ego problem. In several cases (Death and Judgement primarily) she has been described as being "pushed aside" by the form/power she's bringing to the table.

The only other time she's drawn Death, other than the Simurgh encounter, it was determined that Death likes cats and tea and is generally above giving personal attention to just about anyone that doesn't make more work for her than they need to. Also likes chocolate chip cookies. There's another thread dealing with people who now leave out chocolate chip cookies or pour an extra cup of tea for Death just in case she should stop by.

Death apparently doesn't care for Death cults and went out of her way to say so. You were forewarned and you know who you are and so probably does she. Don't make her angry, you wouldn't like her when she's angry. She was only very annoyed and you saw what happened to the Simurgh.

"Wouldn't like her when she's angry?" Seriously?

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near her when she's mildly vexed. In fact, I think I'll stay way way over here.

Okay here's the film that is spliced together from three other videos. Warning for blood and gore.(Link)

Yes, that's Hookwolf. Yes, that's Moonwolf(Tarot). Yes, they are fighting. Yes, that's a lot of blood.

So the question of who would win is proven. Whichever one manages to pin the other. Hookwolf initially catches Moonwolf but Moonwolf heals really fast. In round two Hookwolf gets pinned long enough for Moonwolf to cut off an arm and a leg.

Hookwolf is stronger. Moonwolf is faster and more mobile. Hookwolf can take more damage. Moonwolf can avoid a lot of damage. Hookwolf regenerates, Moonwolf regenerates faster.

So this was speculated in another thread (Link) but neither of them really shows a clear advantage.

But wait - there's more.

Tarot/Moonwolf goes off, declaring it was fun and they'd have to do this again someday. Hookwolf's reply involved the sort of language that can get you tempbanned at the very least.

Two hours later, Hookwolf is getting ready to head into one of his dogfighting rings when (Link) Tarot meets him again. She draws a card. (Link)

Count the legs. Eight. Eight-legged horse. Old-looking. One-eye. Hooded cloak. Long spear that looks like it could be used to spearfish great white sharks. Or megalodon.

So, apparently this is the Hanged Man card. Which makes an odd sort of sense.

Freaking Odin rides down and starts playing polo with his spear. Today, Hookwolf would be playing the part of a ball.

Yeah, apparently Odin is more powerful than a werewolf. How surprising.

►All_Seeing_Eye (Unverified Cape) (General Nuisance)

Posted from March 3, 2011

From the footage provided, Odin excels at battlefield control. Those runes he traced in the air? You can see in the background people bouncing off invisible barriers as they try to get involved. He defines the field of battle and then starts bouncing Hookie around within those barriers.

From the strikes and the way that spear shears through Hookie's blades - add some Striker to the runes' Shaker. The Hanged Man - so I'd bet donuts that there's some form of binding or restraining he's got. Just didn't need that when facing Hookie.

►Glory Girl (Verified Cape)(New Wave)

Posted on March 3, 2011

Yeah, but it's a crap shoot and Tarot can end up running away if she ends up pulling a card while on patrol and it's the wrong card. Which happened when I met up with her for a joint patrol. We saw a break-in at some liquor store, and she ended up drawing the Chariot. Which is a useful Tinker if given some time but a Tinker without any gadgets she had with her. Yeah, so she ended up standing on the roof calling out positions while I went after the bad guys.

►Vista (Verified Cape) (PRT ENE)

One of my patrols ended up combining with her when our routes intersected. There was an attempted bank robbery and she drew the Empress. Ice EVERYWHERE. It was one of those unseasonably hot muggy nights up until then.

Those Merchants had to be taken into custody just so they could get thawed out.

►Clockblocker (Verified Cape) (PRT ENE)

I know, it was so cool.

►TinMother (Moderator)

Getting away from the subject of this board.

►XxVoid_CowboyxX

To be fair, any Versus thread involving Tarot is a crapshoot. She draws one card, it's overpowered against anyone short of Scion. She draws another and she can't even take on a withdrawing Merchant thug without a lot of prep time. Death or Judgement can take on almost any cape on the scene. Chariot or Fool she's stuck with whatever she was carrying at the time.

Others are situational. She mentioned that the Sun card is solar-powered so she'd be of limited use on a night patrol. According to an interview on WBBR, Hierophant is a teacher of exotic skills so any occasion where those skills are actually useful would be good otherwise not. I think in order to teach a skill, you have to know that skill - teachers at Winslow being an exception.
