"On a day like this, nothing beats a relaxing ramble in the country," Ianto said, smiling contentedly as the bright sunshine warmed him and a light breeze threaded its fingers through his hair. "Don't you agree?"
"Hummmm," Nosy said, from somewhere in the masses of bracken off to the side of the footpath. That was the only sound; there was no reply from Jack.
Ianto stopped and turned around, looking back along the path, but there was no sign of his lover.
"Jack?"
No reply.
Sighing, Ianto pulled out his phone, selecting Jack's number.
"Ianto! Where are you?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing. You were right behind me, and then you weren't."
"One of my laces came untied. I stopped to fix it, and when I looked up, you'd gone!"
"Let me guess; you came to where the path divided and went left."
"How did you know that?"
"Because if you'd taken the righthand path you'd have caught up to us. Since you haven't, you must be on the wrong one."
"Oh. I suppose that makes sense."
"Stay where you are, we'll come to you."
"Why?"
"It'll be faster. Wherever you are, Nosy will find you."
