Summary: Owen has a run-in with a monster.

When Owen arrived back at the Hub bedraggled, wet, and muddy, gingerly carrying a box, Jack burst out laughing.

"What happened to you?"

"What happened?" Owen all but exploded. "You sent me out alone after a vicious bloody monster, that's what happened! I'll tell you right now, I'm not 'aving anything more to do with that thing. Someone else can take care of it, or just kill it for all I care!" Abandoning the box on the floor near the workstations, Owen started towards the stairs.

"Vicious monster?" Ianto looked at the small animal carrying box. "How vicious can it be if it fits in there?"

"I've seen some scary little critters in my time. You shouldn't judge by size," Jack said, coming to join his lover, who was peering through the steel-mesh lid. Something small, blue, and fluffy was huddled in the corner.

"Ever seen one of these before?" Ianto asked.

Jack grinned. "I have. It's a Taraxian snigwa."

"Vicious?"

Jack nodded. "A voracious predator. Of insects."

"So what happened to Owen?" The snigwa looked so harmless.

Owen paused, scowling. "Stupid bloody thing set a swarm of bees on me; I had to jump in the river to escape!"
