"I hate being short." Under normal circumstances, Ianto was a very respectable six-feet tall, but as so often seemed to happen, he now found himself less than half that, not to mention less than a sixth of his actual age.
"I know, and I'm sorry." Jack watched his lover expertly tying the small tie that was among the clothes he'd bought for him. "At least you're still yourself though." Ianto might look four-years-old, but the mind inside the child's body was still that of his adult self.
"Not sure that isn't worse. If I was four in mind as well as body, at least I could enjoy being a little kid." Ianto adjusted the tie. "Instead, it's just frustrating. I want a coffee, but I can't reach the machine."
"I could put the stepladder in the kitchen," Jack offered. "And I can fetch whatever you need."
Ianto smiled. "That would help. Thank you."
"Are you sure that's wise, Jack?" Gwen cut in. "I mean, coffee at his age…"
"I wasn't planning on making myself a triple espresso, Gwen." Ianto glared up at his colleague. "Just a latte. I've suffered one indignity already; I don't need a headache from caffeine deprivation."
