The weather in Wales was unpredictable anyway, but this summer was proving far wetter than usual, with high winds, and frequent storms, none of which stopped the kids from wanting to play outside. Inevitably, that meant they got wet, and not only them but the family Fluff and Flufflets too. It was a good thing Ianto had stocked up on towels, because he needed them.
Today, just to be extra unhelpful, a sudden storm had hit Cardiff, not just drenching three kids, two Flufflets, a very large Fluff, and a Welshman, but knocking out power across the city.
Nosy herded the kids and Flufflets inside, pausing just long enough to give itself a good shake before following, while Ianto dealt with the kids, getting them into dry clothes. But what to do about the Flufflets?
Like Nosy, they knew to shake the worst of the water off, and towel-drying helped, but they remained damp, and no power meant no hairdryer.
Working for Torchwood meant being adaptable and able to improvise at a moment's notice, something Ianto found equally useful in his home life.
With a shrug, he fetched the clothes airer and draped the Flufflets over it to air dry.
