October 13, 1954

At the time, I was seven years old. I had moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Castle Rock, Oregon about a week ago. I have an older sister named Angela, she is twelve.

She wasn't as excited about the move as I was. I was the more excited of the two of us. I always wanted to see new things.

After that week, I asked my aunt Terri if I could go explore the town that morning. She said that I had to take Angela with me.

I didn't mind it though since we get along real nice.

(In Town)

The town itself was small and not as crowded as Atlanta was. There were stores connected to one another with a sidewalk for cars to park and a street cutting between the two rows of stores.

Angela and I went into a shop, spent about ten minutes looking around before getting a soda, then walked outside with the bell ringing from the top of the door.

When I walked out first, I felt a strong hand push me aside. The force of the push made me drop my drink to the ground, shattering it to pieces.

"Hey! What's the big idea?" I exclaimed, looking around to see who pushed me.

"Out of my way, you little brat," someone said, answering my question.

I look up to see the owner of the voice. It was a kid about 13, about the same height as Angela. He had handsome features that were sharp. It looked like his appearance was buried in an avalanche of flesh.

His hair is dark blonde, cut short spikey, and the sides were slicked back. I saw the clothes he wore. He wore a white t-shirt with black chinos and Penny loafers. His blue eyes had a aggressiveness that made me back up a few steps.

Angela saw this and ran to me, kneeling down in front of me. "You okay?" she asked, seeing my distress.

I looked from him to my sister. "Yeah, I dropped my drink by accident. It got all over me," I answer, not being able to hide the shock in my voice.

She looked into my brown eyes, seeing the slight fear in them. She stands up and faced the guy that pushed me.

"What're you looking at, bitch?" He swore. I've never heard that word before, but it didn't sound good.

"You, asshole. Don't touch my sister again, you understand me? Or you'll regret it," Angea spat venomously.

"Ooh, I'm so scared. What're you going to do about it, girlie?" the guy said sarcastically.

He walked closer to Angela, giving her a weird look. "On second thought, there is something you can do for me," he whispered in a way that made me shudder.

Angela didn't like the sound of that. "Get away from me," she spat, keeping me behind her.

"Come on, don't be like that," he whispered, touching Angela on her hip. I stepped in between them.

"Leave her alone!" I squeal. The guy growled and pushed me to the ground. I felt my elbow get cut up from the rough ground.

"Hey, Ace! Get away from them!" somebody shouted. We all looked up, seeing two boys coming our way. I could tell that they were brothers.

The younger boy was my age, his hair was light brown and slicked back, his eyes were hazel and they looked like deer eyes. His older brother was Angela's age, had green eyes and brown hair that was also slicked back.

"You leave them be, Ace," the older boy said, pushing the blonde boy away with both hands, apparently named Ace. Ace looked at the older boy with the meanest look ever.

"You're always in my way, Lachance. Next time, you better watch your ass," Ace scowled, pushing past the older boy and walked away.

When Ace left, the two brothers turn to Angela and I. "Sorry about him. He's always troubling kids like us," the oldest brother said, smiling at us.

"Thank you for helping us. Guys a creep. Does he not have anything better to do?" Angela asked, smiling at the brothers. "Nah, he's always a jerk. Glad we got here," The younger brother interjected.

"What're your names?" I asked them curiously. The eldest boy smiled at me. "Oh, right. Where are my manners? I'm Dennis, but you guys can call me Denny. And this is my little brother, Gordie," Denny introduced.

"Well, I'm Angela, and this my little sister, Sadie," Angela said, wrapping an arm around me. The brothers both smile at this.
