CHAPTER 6

After an hour of crying on the floor of her penthouse, she eventually got into her bed, where she tried to cry herself to sleep. She knew something was wrong with Peter, but she didn't know what it was or how to help him. She was right about to fall asleep, until she heard a noise. It was 1 am, so she thought someone was breaking in. She kept the lights off so she could be sneaky. She hid behind where her door opened so when the intruder opened it, they wouldn't see her. She eventually saw what she believed was a male figure open the door. Without any hesitation, she leapt at him and kicked him in his chest. This sent the guy back into a wall. The intruder groaned in pain, but his voice, it was one she recognized. She turned the lights on.

"Miles?" she asked, confused as to why a superhero was breaking into her home.

"Where's Pete?" Miles asked as he got off the ground.

All of Felicia's emotions came rushing back to her as she started to cry. "He… left" she said in between sniffles of her nose.

"He's in danger, I'm pretty sure he has an alien symbiote living on him right now. It's controlling his mind. But to be sure, I came here to get a sample of his Spider suit."

It suddenly all made sense to Felicia. The new suit, sudden mood swings, neglecting his Spider responsibilities. None of it was like him at all. "He sa-said he's going ba-back to his house." Felica told him as she continued crying.

"Don't worry felicia, we can help him." Miles said in an attempt to comfort her.

"I hope so." Felicia replied, as she went back into her bed to try to get some sleep.

Miles swung over to queens, wondering why he didn't just use his tracker in the first place to find Peter so that encounter didn't have to happen. When he got to Peter's house, he cracked the window slightly open and dropped his device into Peter's room. Ganke designed it so Miles could remotely control it and see that the device was seeing through his mask. He was able to get it onto the shirt Peter was wearing and cut a hole in it. The device took the sample and held it until it could get back to Miles and he could put it in a glass jar. Miles got the device to get out of the room and the plan worked. Miles wondered what Pete would think when he woke up with a hole in his shirt, but he watched the black goo repair the hole. Miles then swung off to get back to his apartment and get some sleep. It was a Friday night(now early Saturday morning) so Miles was able to sleep in.

When Miles woke up at 11 am, the first thing he did was text Ganke telling him the plan worked. He checked his friendly neighborhood Spider-man app to see what was going on in Harlem. There wasn't much being reported on the app, so Miles swung over to Ganke's apartment to give him the sample of the symbiote to run some tests on it. After a couple of tests, they came to the conclusion that loud sounds and fire are the symbiote's weaknesses. That's when Miles gets the idea to make a web shooter-like device that would shoot loud sounds. They started to get to work on making this device.

Back at Peter's house, he was sitting, thinking to himself how he's gonna pay off the house. Rent was due in two weeks, and he still had no job and no money. He was thinking about everything that had transpired the previous night between him and Felicia. He felt bad and wanted to apologize, until the voice of his suit told him it was all Miles' fault. It told him "If Miles never went to talk to you, none of that would have happened and you'd still be happy and at Felicia's penthouse." Peter felt confused at first, but eventually agreed with the suit. Peter was about to make himself breakfast until he heard that The Lizard broke free from the raft and was heading towards Queens.

At Felicia's penthouse, she was sleeping until Ben woke her up. "Where's daddy?" Ben said, as he was surprised to not see his father anywhere in the penthouse.

This brought Felicia to the verge of tears. "He, he's at work right now sweetie." Felicia struggled to say.

"Is he coming back?" Ben asked as his eyes grew wide. He was worried his father wouldn't come back.

"O-of course he is." She said between sniffles. The truth was, she didn't know if he would be back. She didn't know how to help him. No one did. Or at least she thought no one did, because after she finished making breakfast for Ben, she got a text from Miles. The text read 'Hey, it's Miles. My friend and I are working on a device that will help get the symbiote off Peter. He will be back soon.' Felicia smiled as she replied with a simple 'Thank you'

As Miles is texting Felicia, he turns on the news and sees that The Lizard has arrived in Queens. 'Oh crap, Petes gonna be there' he thought to himself, 'I have to go to make sure he doesn't do something he'll regret.' He told Ganke he was going to watch Peter in Queens and make sure he doesn't go too crazy on The Lizard. Miles makes his way to Queens and Ganke continues to work on the sound blaster. They are hoping this device will make sounds loud enough that the symbiote will be blasted off by the sound waves. When Miles gets to Queens, he sees that Peter is fighting The Lizard. Miles watches from a distance, as he believes it's best to step in if either Pete or The Lizard are on the verge of death. Peter is fighting The Lizard, but Miles notices that Peter isn't quipping. This worried Miles, as he realized Peter must be pissed. The fight was very back and forth. Peter would get a few good shots in on Lizard, and then he would throw Pete into the side of a house and return the favor. This cycle would go on for nearly 10 minutes. This was until Peter was able to get The Lizard to fall to the ground, laying on his back. This came as a result of Peter dodging a leap from Lizard, causing him to crash into a house. After this, Peter jumped onto The Lizard's back, wrapping his legs around The Lizard's giant neck, and then reversed all of his body weight causing The Lizard to land on the top of his head. The Lizard hit so hard that his body did another flip, resulting in him laying on his back. Then, Peter got on top of him and unleashed a barrage of lefts and rights onto The Lizard's face. Miles could see that Peter wasn't holding his punches. So, Miles attached two webs to Peter's back and yanked him off of The Lizard. Peter turned to face Miles, and then back to face The Lizard, but The Lizard was gone. This enraged Peter.

"YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Peter yelled as he web zipped over to Miles and he would start laying punches down onto Miles.

Back at her Penthouse, Felicia turned on the news to see Spider-Man was fighting… Spider-Man! She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Peter was brutally beating down Miles. This continued until Miles punched Peter in the gut with a venom charged fist. He tried webbing up Peter, but he easily broke free due to his extra strength from the symbiote. Miles, realizing he was no match for Peter without the sound blaster, turned invisible and swung away. Peter was angered that The Lizard and Miles got away, and he vowed that they would pay.
