CHAPTER 7

Miles gets back to his apartment, where he is greeted by Ganke, who finished working on the sound blaster. "Are you ok Miles? I saw the fight." Ganke asked as he was concerned about his friend

"Yeah, I'm alright. My ribs hurt a bit, but I'm more hurt mentally than physically." He said, sounding disappointed.

"Well that's going to change soon. I finished the sound blaster." Ganke told him, hoping to cheer him up.

"Great, but how am I gonna get him to stay still so I can use it."

"That's for you to figure out. I make the tech, you have to use it."

Miles was about to start thinking of how to get Pete to stay still until he got a text. It was from Felicia Hardy. It read 'Hey, I saw the fight, are you ok? Do you need anything?' Miles then realized how to beat Peter. He told Ganke "That's it! I'll hold him back with webbing while Black Cat uses the blaster"

"Woah Woah Woah. Firstly, the sound will hurt you also. Secondly, how are you gonna convince her to help you?"

"I'll just wear earbuds or something. But I dunno how I'll convince her. She just texted asking if I need anything, so I'll tell her to bring me bandages or something and then tell her the plan. I think she would be willing to do anything to get the father of her son back." So, that's what Miles did, and about 30 minutes later, Felicia got to Miles' apartment.

"Hey, I got here as soon as I could, are you ok?" Felicia asked as she was greeted by Miles. She could see a cut on the side of Miles' face.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Here, come in, we need to talk."

This scared Felicia as she was expecting to hear the worst about Peter. Miles brought her to his room where she could see another young man sitting at a desk, working on a gadget of somesort. "Felicia, this is Ganke, Ganke, this is Felicia." They shook hands as they got acquainted with each other. "We have a plan to get the symbiote off of Peter." Miles said.

"So, what's the plan?" She asked with curiosity.

Ganke started to explain the device he made. "So, the symbiote's weaknesses are loud noises and fire. This gadget works like a web-shooter but it blasts out a loud sound instead of webs." Ganke explained.

"Ok, so, you're gonna hit Peter with it until the symbiote comes off of him?" Felicia asked as she turned to Miles.

"It's not that easy." Miles informed her. "We need to get him to stay in place. I would just web him up, but earlier he broke free with ease. So, Imma web him up and hold him in place while you hit him with the sound blaster."

"No no no, this kitty's retired." Felicia responded.

"Well, the only other option would be to set him on fire, but his chance of survival would be much lower than the first option." Ganke said.

Felicia was contemplating what to do, until Miles grabbed her shoulder and said, "Felicia, this is our only chance of getting Peter back. If we don't do this, your son is not going to have a father." He said hoping it would convince her.

"Ok, I'm in. But when and where are we gonna do it?"

"I was thinking about texting him a place where we could fight, since he wanted to rip my head off earlier. I was thinking a secluded dock, upper west side, 10 pm."

"That works for me." Felicia said, as she left to go back to her Penthouse

It was 9:30 and Miles was finishing putting on his suit to get ready for the battle with Pete, when The Black Cat entered through his window. "You ready?" She asked Miles.

"Yup. Ganke are you connected?" Miles asked.

"Yeah, I'm seeing what you're seeing. Here's the sound blaster Felicia." Ganke said as he tossed it to her.

"Thanks Ganke. Miles, let's do this."

Miles and Felicia swung to the location that Pete agreed to fight at. They wanted to get there early so Felicia could find a spot to hide in while Miles fought Peter. She wasn't going to get involved until Peter was trapped in webbing. While swinging with Miles, Felicia started to reminisce about the times she would swing across the city with Peter. So out of instinct, she started to tease Miles a bit. "So, you're working on a college thesis right? Where does a cutie like you apply to college?"

Miles laughed a bit and blushed under his mask as he said "ESU. Y'know another reason I need Pete back is so I can get an alumni recommendation from him."

Felicia laughed as she jokingly said, "I don't know if you really want a failed scientist to be writing your recommendation."

They went back and forth like this for a little bit. This reminded Felicia of when she would swing the city stopping crimes with Peter. She was so observant of Peter back when they would swing through the city together that she was able to notice small differences in the way Miles swung as opposed to Peter. Peter's swings seemed calm and calculated, while Miles' were flamboyant and freestyled. Thinking of swinging with Peter back in the day made her more eager to get him back. Soon after their exchange of quips, they got to the dock, where Peter was already there, waiting for Miles. Felicia was able to hide, and Miles confronted Peter.

"Pete, I didn't want it to come to this." Miles said as Peter's back was facing him.

"Do you know what you've done to me Miles? Because of you, I snapped at Felicia. Because of you, I couldn't end The Lizard. Because of you, I might never see my son again."

"Do you hear yourself bro? It's that symbiote suit tha-"

"I'M NOT YOUR BRO!" Peter snapped at him, cutting Miles off and launching his body into Miles.

Pete was on top of Miles and he started to punch him but Miles webbed his face, momentarily blinding Peter. This gave Miles enough time to web a garbage can that was off in the distance behind Peter and pull it towards him. It ended up hitting Pete in the back of his head. This knocked Pete off of Miles and they both got to their feet. Miles began to charge his fists until Pete's arm extended out to Miles and punched him in the gut, knocking Miles back a few feet. Peter leaped at Miles but Miles web-zipped up a lamp pole he was next to, dodging the attack. This let him get above Peter so he could unleash a Venom smash on him. He punched the ground Peter was standing on with his charged up fist. Peter was now sent back a few feet, landing on his back. Miles tried to web up Pete, but he dodged the webs and web-zipped to Miles. Miles was able to dodge the right Peter was about to deliver. This caused there to be distance between the two, so Miles threw another trash can at Peter using his webs. Then, Miles charged up his fist and delivered a huge uppercut, powered with his venom electricity. Peter somehow landed on his feet after the uppercut though, and was able to extend his arm and grab Miles' head, picking him up and smashing him face first into the pavement. Peter continued smashing Miles' head into the ground while telling him, "I told you I'd smash your head into the pavement." Miles' hands were charging up and he was able to grab Peter's ankle and shock it. This caused Peter to release his grip. While Miles was getting up, Peter gave him a huge uppercut, resulting in Miles landing on his back. After that, Peter pulled a lamp post down on top of Miles and then webbed him under it so he couldn't escape.

"Looks like this is the end for you, bud." Peter said as he was winding up his right hand to land a huge punch. This was until he heard a voice call out to him.

"Peter, stop!" could be heard as The Black Cat jumped down from the roof of the building she was on. "You don't need to do this Pete, we can work-"

"Yes. I. Do." Peter interrupted in a bitter town as he was face-to-face with his lover. Peter retracted his mask so he could look deep into Felicia's blue eyes.

"This isn't you Peter. That suit is controlling you." Felicia told him as she was on the verge of tears.

"There's nothing wrong with the suit." He said as he stared coldly into Felicia's eyes.

While Peter was distracted by Felicia's beauty, Miles was able to free himself from Peter's webbing. He used a couple old web-bombs he forgot he had on Peter and put him in a sleeper hold using his electrified hands and arms.

"Do it Felicia!" Miles Yelled.

"I'm sorry Peter." Felicia said as she blasted her lover with 2 huge soundwaves.

The combination of the sound and Miles' electricity knocked both him and Peter back a few feet. The sounds were so loud and powerful that it destroyed the glass windows of all the nearby buildings. It was also able to blast the symbiote off Peter, he was left in his red and blue suit. Felicia watched as the evil symbiote crawled off the dock and into the water. She was relieved that the evil goo was gone. Miles started to move but Peter didn't. Felicia rushed over to Peter.

"Peter! Peter! Wake up! Please!" she was yelling as she was shaking his body in an attempt to get him to regain consciousness. Tears were flowing down her face at the thought of her lover being dead.

Peter slowly opened his eyes as he groggily said "Felicia?"

She hugged him tight as he was laying on the ground, tighter than she ever had. She was so happy he was still alive. Miles walked over to them and placed a hand on Pete's shoulder as he was starting to sit in an upright position.

"You ok?" Miles asked.

"Yeah Miles." Peter replied.

Felicia let go of Peter and gave Miles a big hug as she said "Thank you. You saved him."

"No, we did." Miles replied as he hugged her back.

Together, they helped Peter get back on his feet. Once he was on his feet, Peter said "I'm sorry you guys. I'm sorry I tried to kill you Miles. And Felicia, I'm sorry I left you and Ben."

Miles told him "It's ok man, I know you didn't mean to."

Felcia told Peter "It's alright, just, please don't let this happen again."

"It won't. I promise. And you know a Parker always keeps their promise." Peter said as they hugged. Then, the two of them swung back to the penthouse, while Miles went back to his apartment.

At the penthouse, Ben was sleeping in their bed. Before Felicia got into bed, Peter grabbed her shoulder and asked in a soft voice, "Can I stay?"

"Of course," Felicia replied. "I want you to see your son grow up."

Peter grabbed her hands and said "That's not what I meant. I mean, can I stay with you? I want to be your boyfriend again."

"Yes" she said, as she leaned into Peter and planted her lips onto his. At first, Peter was shocked, as his eyes widened. But, he quickly closed them and kissed her back, enjoying the passionate kiss they were sharing. After about a minute, they simultaneously pulled away from each other.

"I love you Felicia." He said as he was lost in her stunning eyes.

"I love you too Peter." She said as she was gently stroking the back of his head.

They got into bed and instantly fell asleep, as they were exhausted from a very eventful night.
