I really do not plan to go in a linear order with this story. Thus I am just jumping around the timeline writing whatever interests me at the moment. The next two chapters might have something to do with Sabo and how he would be connected to Yamato in this story idea where they are all childhood friends (Luffy, Ace, Yamato, and him).

While both Jinbe and Crocodile were being freed after managing to make it to Level 6 of Enies Lobby. Luffy noticed that there was another cell nearby that had its door closed so they could not see who was inside it.
It was just that kind of cell where the people from the outside could not see who was inside it.
When Luffy walked by the occupant seemed to spring to life in a rage and started banging against the door repeatedly.
"Luffy go up that door up," Jinbe told him
"Are you crazy as they might be berserk again as they were like that since they managed to get here" Crocodile told him
"There is a reason for this as Ace would offer to look at that cell whenever he was talking about his childhood with you," Jinbe told him
Going over to do so Luffy opened the cell without a second thought as the occupant sprung out pinning him to the ground and snapping at them with their jaws before taking a good look at him.
Calming down the released prisoner then tried grabbing Luffy but it failed because they did not have any hands to do so.
"Get these off me" they demanded out of Luffy
Luffy then went about trying but they were seastone handcuffs thus he could do so himself as a result.
This was level 6 of Impel Down and with a good chunk of the highest level prisoners being Devil Fruit users they do not want to ever get out again. Seastone handcuffs were more common than the normal ones.
They were not taking any chance down here so they ensure there would always be enough seastone handcuffs to be used on everyone regardless of who they were if they warranted an entire cell to themselves or almost to themselves.
"You were alive this entire time as everyone was sure you had died after the condition they saw you in" Crocodile yelled
"I am very hard to kill you know" they replied.
"If it is her then that makes sense as she been through something like this before when we were younger," Luffy told them
"Wait are you!?" Jinbe said as there were two people that Ace talked about while telling him about Luffy.
This was the only one of those two that he knew personally already
"Jinbe!? What are you doing here" she said shocked and amazed.
Yamato could not believe that he was here along with Luffy either.
During their trip to Fishman Island, they came across Jinbe and fought him for two and half days nonstop. Before all three of them collapsed from exhaustion upon stopping Yamato who went out of control.
A Wolf Mink she seemingly had a unique ability to enter into a Sulong like form when provoked or loses control of herself. Does not happen often merely when she goes beyond her limits or something triggers it at times.
"Why did not you just free yourself," Luffy asked her
"You know I could not do that as I can never seem to get freed when any kind of handcuffs are placed on me," she said annoyed she had such a strange weakness.
"That and the fact that you were not in your normal state of mind given who had to throw you into that cell in the first place" Jinbe added
"What about you anyway? If you are here Luffy then where is Ace" she demanded.
Apparently, Yamato was out cold lying on the floor of her cell with the guards just seemingly waiting for her to die after she failed at her own recuse attempt. Which was not reported as she was not trying to break out of Impel Down merely going further down instead.
Though her nose caught wind of Luffy's presence and this was cause to spring back to life once again but in semi berserker state though.
After freeing her of the cuffs that weaken her because of personal issues she had in her past. Yamato helped out greatly in the effort to finally escape from Impel Down properly. They were all going to Marineford to save Ace after all
Though eventually, the arrival of Blackbeard sent Yamato into a rage. As this was the guy that cause everything to happen with Ace. She went to attack the guy along with Luffy who joined her. Though she managed to land a massive kick and Luffy dealt a massive punch.
The two of them were convinced that they need to leave as getting to Ace was more important than getting back at the guy that caught him after all.
They escaped from Magellan with Yamato helping block the poison of his while Jinbe provided the backup they all needed to escape.
After they had all managed to get away from Impel Down successfully as well as get away from the Marines that tried to follow them.
It was during this time Yamato went over to Luffy while they were en route to Marineford.
"We are going to save him as we are not going to lose him as well," she said
Of course, Luffy replied to the Mink girl.
Then Luffy wondered how she has even gone into that condition in the first place as normally Ace was the one that would manage to calm her down from that state whenever she managed to lose it.
"It's a long story do you really want to hear it," she asked
They had some time before getting to Marineford and rather than wondering about this during the final stretch to save Ace.
Thus Yamato went about telling him how she got into that cell where he found her. Unlike Ace who Luffy viewed as an older brother. Yamato was not his older sister as she missed out on them exchanging sake cups back then. Rather than join in on the exchange of sake cups instead she just drank the rest of the sake herself. It was then that rule was set in regards to Yamato that was learned the hard way. That being to never ever let Yamato drink even the smallest bit.
She entered into so many different stages of being drunk it even amazed those adults that were need to keep her in check at how she seemed to shift between them so easily
"Is that really a good idea to let them relax like that" Crocodile asked
"Let them be for now once we get to Marineford there will be no time to even get the shortest of breaks like this" Ivankov stated to him.
