THIRTY SEVEN - BIRTHDAY

Jack and Rose woke up early to find Teddy still fast asleep in bed. The night before, when he'd fallen asleep, they'd managed to put some banners up and blow up some balloons for him to wake up to the following morning for his birthday. "I'll go downstairs and pick up the cake from reception" Jack whispered to Rose and left the room. Whilst Jack was gone, Eliza had woken up, so Rose had her on her hip as Jack came back in to the room a few moments later. He and Rose began to sing Happy Birthday to Teddy, watching him as he woke up at rubbed his eyes. Jack walked over to him with the cake and Rose followed with Eliza.
"Make a wish!" Rose smiled to Teddy and he blew out the candles "I did!" Teddy grinned "can we have cake for breakfast?!" Teddy asked excitedly "seen as it's your birthday" Rose smirked and lifted him from his bed into her and Jack's bed, along with Eliza "watch Eliza for 2 seconds whilst me and Daddy cut your cake, OK?" Teddy nodded and looked at Eliza "it's my birthday Liza! I'm four!" Teddy grinned, holding up four fingers to which she just giggled and tried to climb on him, making him laugh.
Jack and Rose came over with some cake for Teddy and Eliza along with some presents for him. "Would you like to open some presents, Ted?" Jack asked "yes please" he nodded and smiled.

After Teddy had finished opening his presents, Jack and Rose got him and Eliza ready for the day. "What would you like to do today Ted? We can do anything you want" Jack smiled to him "can we go on bikes? I just learnt how to ride mine at home!" He grinned proudly to which Jack laughed "yes, you did buddy! I'm sure we can find some bikes to hire! Let's go and see shall we?" He said as he helped Teddy put his jacket on and Rose did the same with Eliza "come on" Jack held out his hand for Teddy, Rose carrying Eliza as they left.

Once finding somewhere to hire bikes from, they rode down the sea front. Jack had Eliza in a baby seat on the back of his bike and Rose rode close to Teddy just in case he were to fall. Teddy shouted every time he saw something new to point out to Jack and Rose, much to their entertainment.
They spent most of the day riding bikes, playing on the beach and spending time on the pier - Rose and Jack keeping an extra eye on Teddy there after the other days events. As Teddy ate his dinner in the diner that night, they talked about the day "so, have you had a good birthday darling?" Rose asked him, to which he nodded "yes, thank you mummy, thank you daddy" "you're welcome buddy" Jack smiled and kissed his head "what was your favourite bit?" "Flying the kite on the beach!" Teddy grinned "that was fun!" Jack laughed. "Am I going to your friends tonight?" Teddy looked at Jack "to Molly's hotel? Yes darling, but if you don't want to, that's OK. Me and mummy will stay with you instead" Jack said, hoping Teddy would say it was fine- he wanted to spend sometime with Rose. "No, it's OK Daddy, but is Liza still going to be there?" Teddy said, unsure "yes pal, she'll be there, and me and mummy will pick you up later and when you wake up in the morning, you'll be in the hotel with us" he smiled, trying to reassure him "OK" Teddy said.
