"Yang, why do you even want to go to Beacon? Even after everything that you told us about, wouldn't it be better for you to stay home? With us?"
Yang simply gave a smile to her worried father even as her little sister gave an exasperated sigh at their father's overprotective nature, especially after the truth about their past was revealed.
"Because our friends will be there. I, no, we need to know if it was just Ruby and I who were thrown to different realms after our last battle or if the rest of our friends went through the same thing. Although, the possibility does seem very high that the rest of my team did fall after me given the way the SDC has changed and the White Fang has been weakened significantly over the past couple of years"
And Yang meant what she said.
It was only two years ago that she came to know that Ghira Belladonna was planning on sending his daughter to Beacon in three years, when she would become 17 years of age, to strengthen their ties with Vale and fight against the White Fang.
That was another change.
This time around, the White Fang became a public pariah in Menagerie due to the actions of the Belladonna family that exposed the many shady things done by the organization under Sienna's rule. In fact, the White Fang is now publicly acknowledged to be a terrorist organization. Even the faunus across the world, including Atlas, think the same thing.
Another change was the fact that Jacques Schnee had died of an assassination two years ago, leaving the company to fall in the hands of his wife who was very quick to take control of the SDC and kick out most of the old staff, replacing them with much more capable and open-minded people. Needless to say, the SDC was well underway to redeem itself in the eyes of the Faunus with the many reforms that were taking place in the company every day.
These incidents were what caused Yang and Ruby to realize that the possibility of Blake and Weiss being brought back in time just like them was extremely high.
But they did not get their hopes too high. For all they know, this could be a different version of Weiss and Blake from the ones that they knew as their friends. With all the crazy things that they went through in their respective worlds, nothing was too far-fetched.
That was why, they decided to attend Beacon despite already being capable of being considered high-class Huntresses based on their fighting ability alone. If combined with their intellect and otherworldly knowledge, they would already be considered the best huntresses in history.
Despite the many bad memories associated with that place, it was still the birthplace of Team RWBY and JNPR. And there was noting that Yang and Ruby would not do to see them again.
That was why Ruby blasted through Signal's curriculum and became its youngest graduate yet at the age of 15. Although, there was no way for anyone in this world to know that she was mentally over 30 years old and Yang was over 90 years old.
With her graduation complete, Ruby immediately applied to Beacon at the same time as her first time around when Ozpin invited her originally. However, this time around, she was getting in through the proper channels instead of having to fight a known criminal and rogue huntsman to get in.
Today was the day that they were supposed to leave for Beacon but they were both being held back by their father who was extremely worried for his daughters. He knew for a fact that there was no force on this planet that could harm them as they were now, but he could not help but worry about their mental health.
Taiyang Xiao-Long clenched his fist in agitation but relaxed when his two daughters hugged him.
"Come on Dad, you know there is nothing out there that can harm us, so chill"
"Yeah. Besides, I need to make sure Yang does not end up harassing anyone in Beacon and make sure she does not end up blowing the castle up in anger"
"Hey! I haven't had an anger management issue for a long time"
Looking at the familiar bickering between the two sisters, Taiyang finally forced himself to relax and walked with them to the landing pad leading out of Patch.
While he had his misgivings about this, he trusted his daughters to make the right choice. And if this was their wish, then so be it.
Besides, it was not like he didn't have a plan of his own to keep an eye on his daughters.
