Hey guys, Happy Friday. Thank you for all the reviews. Your validation really helps me to continue. I have started to realize as much as I enjoy reading in general, writing is tough! I have a few chapters written but that's some pieces that I would like to use in the future. This chapter has some angst (not my forte) but I still gave it a shot. Let me know how it goes.

Keep reviewing and I will keep entertaining through my story. (Rating T)

Chapter 3: First Fight

Harvey was furious, he felt betrayed, and to make matters worse, he shoved the one person he wanted to be nearby. He thought about calling Donna to make sure she understood, but he decided against it because he still felt upset about what had happened at work and felt it would be best to speak to her face-to-face tomorrow. He downs his second glass of whiskey and chooses to go to bed with a plan to talk to Donna first thing in the morning.

The following day, Donna was sitting at her desk when Harvey walked towards his office. He immediately goes to her desk and says "Donna, I need to talk to you".

Looking up, Donna tells him "Harvey, Jessica is waiting for you in your office, says its urgent".

Annoyed he turns to look towards his office and sees Jessica sitting, he looks at Donna again "Donna",

"Harvey, its urgent, I think us talking can wait."

"Okay Donna, but we talk later."

Harvey turns around and walks into his office, "Jessica, how can I help you".

"Harvey, nice of you to show up. Our client, Zimmer Hotels, have gotten themselves into some kind of mess. I want you to fly to Chicago right away and sort this out for them".

"Jessica, can't you send Paul to solve this. I mean they are his client anyway".

"Harvey, I want this issue to be gone not prolonged. Every day this issue drags, they lose millions and that in turn will bleed us. Do as I say and make it go away". Smirking she gets up and says, "Anyway, the opposing counsel is your long-lost friend, I think you will have your fun" with that she just walks away.

Harvey starts to look for all details on their client "Zimmer Hotels". Meanwhile, Donna comes in his office "Harvey, I have booked your hotel and your flight leaves at 12."

"Donna, listen".

She doesn't let Harvey talk and instead continues "I have also booked you a taxi and it will here in an hour and your travel bag is in that cabinet".

"Donna"

"Harvey we will talk about it later, also, just to let you know, Scottie is the opposing counsel". She puts all these details on the table and leaves his office.

In the morning, Harvey was pissed but now he was royally agitated. He woke up this morning with an intention to resolve the issue with Donna so that he can focus on work, but now not only has he not been able to resolve things with her, he is also going away for a few days.

Donna wasn't the kind to be jealous; rather, she was the one who always felt more secure in her relationship, but she found it disturbing that Harvey would be around Scottie again. She was aware that her relationship with Harvey was still quite new and she wasn't sure if its serious or casual, but the fact that Scottie was the only relationship Harvey had ever had despite sleeping with multiple women—and that they had continued to hook up even after their breakup—bothered her. She couldn't let the thought go away because she knew they made out every time they got together or worked together. She was hurt by Harvey's reaction yesterday and now he was going away for God knows how many days and will be around his ex, she was spiraling down "God damnit, get it together Donna" she mumbled.

She saw Harvey getting ready to leave and not wanting to discuss about their relationship at work, she decides its best to avoid him, so instead of telling him goodbye, she gets up and goes to the executive kitchen to fix herself a cup of tea.

Harvey was getting ready to catch his cab, he quickly scribbles "Sorry-H" on a post it note to give it to Donna, he walks out and sees Donna getting up and walking away.

Harvey having a big ego, he crumbles the note in his hands and throws it in the trashcan, "Well Donna, if you want to ignore me, I think two can play this game" with that he just turns around and leaves.

Harvey reaches the hotel later in the evening, once checked in he decides to have a drink at the bar before calling it a night.

"Macallan 18" he says to the bartender and puts his card on the table.

"Make it 2" he hears a familiar voice say.

He turns to look around, "Scottie"

"Harvey, how long has it been? I didn't know you were back at corporate law."

"Yeah, well Scottie, I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet, plus who can say no to Jessica".

"Ever so arrogant. So, tell me Harvey did you take this case to rekindle with me."

Smirking, Harvey picks up his glass to take a sip of his scotch.

Putting a hand on his arm Scottie continues "Come on Harvey, you know you can say it. We have been doing this for a long time now to shy away from it."

"Really, who is the arrogant one now Scottie. To tell you the truth, Jessica assigned me this case."

Gently pressing his hand to get his attention she says seductively "Well in that case, how about I give you the cliff notes in my room and bring you up to speed, I know, you are extremely focused when you are between my legs".

Harvey immediately looked away from her and focused on his drink.

"Come on Harvey, what's with the attitude".

"It's nothing Scottie, I am just tired. It's a petty case and I just want to get away with it ASAP."

"It's not a petty case Harvey, it's a case of wrongful termination based on discrimination. You are in for a long haul. I hope you have multiple suits packed, as this one is going to be a class action".

Agitated he looks at her "You twist this into something it's not and I will make sure you will not forget this Scottie".

"We will see who regrets it, my room number is 1201, in case you change your mind".

Harvey simply gulps down the remainder of his drink and gets up to leave.

With Harvey gone, Donna calls it an early day and tries hard to distract herself. She had a wonderful yoga session, ordered her favorite takeout, and poured a substantial amount of wine to accompany her. She settles in on the couch to watch a repeat of The Cosby Show. She kept thinking about Harvey and now that he was away this conflict seemed so pointless. They haven't had much time to spend together since last week. Being with him and adjusting to the new work have both been challenging, and she hadn't anticipated how difficult it would be to strike a balance between the two. Even yet, she makes the decision to call him the following day to resolve the situation.

Next morning, Harvey sat with the client for their deputation, it didn't go as planned but it wasn't bad either, he found a vulnerable point that if he played his cards right, he could get the opposition to settle. So, he decides to work on gathering more evidence. By end of the day, Harvey was quite confident that he can win this case and tomorrow after he is done deposing the plaintiff, he can be on his way back to New York tomorrow.

He goes back to the hotel and sees a missed call from Donna, he quickly decides to shower and change before he calls her back. Once comfortable, he calls her up

"Hey"

"Hey" he said. There was an awkward long pause.

"Donna…" "Harvey…." They said at the same time.

"Donna, I don't know how to do this, I know I shouldn't have pushed you away that day, I was worried I would vent out on you and so I asked you to leave me alone. I really wanted to talk to you yesterday, but you were so cold towards me and now I am away."

"Harvey I am sorry about yesterday. I thought we could spend some time after work and sort this out but then you had to go away and I….."

There was a knock on the door,

"Donna, hold on there is someone at the door."

He clicks the door open and is surprised to see Scottie.

"Scottie" and he asks her to wait a minute. He turns around to talk to Donna and say "Hey…its" Donna doesn't let him finish, and just bluntly says "Carry on Harvey, will talk once you are back, whenever you are back." The line goes blank, and Harvey removes his cellphone and looks at the device all confused thinking what the fuck just happened.
