"What happened?"
Ryo's voice echoed through his office as he glared at both Izuku and Katsuki who were seated in front of him. Izuku was covered in wounds in his seat while Katsuki was bounded to his seat by Shouta's scarf as he tried to move but to no avail.
"I repeat again! What...happened?" The retired hero said in a stern tone.
Both teenagers were silent as Katsuki was shaking with rage while Izuku took a deep breath and decided to speak. "W-we were-"
"I know what happened! I want to know why it happened!" The guidance counselor raised his voice in rage which managed to flinch both teenagers. The guidance counselor waited as both boys sit still and stayed quiet. The teachers for both the students stood beside them, Shouta pinching the bridge of his nose while Sekijiro folded his arms in anger.
The room was filled with silence as the teachers waited for the boys to speak. Izuku looked around the place, noticing the scary glare from Katsuki that managed to scare him. Despite this, the verdette decided to push back his fear and explain the situation.
"I-I'm not exactly sure..." He started as he took a deep breath. "I-I w-was just hanging out with my friends a-and exercising b-before all of a sudden...I was knocked back by an explosion. I don't why he did it. I just know that Bakugo wanted a fight."
Katsuki glared at him with bloodshot eyes before he pointed at him. "It's because you should never be here! You don't deserve to be here! You're a quirkless failure!"
The teachers were surprised by the blonde's words before Shouta and Sekijiro made eye contact and nodded. Ryo, on the other hand, kept his composure as he decided to speak. "What do you mean? He is-"
"Don't bullshit me! This bastard was quirkless! He could not even do anything against me in the fight." Katsuki shouted, his words sounded like venom to Izuku's ears.
"Let's say that Midoriya is diagnosed quirkless. How are you sure that the doctors did not make a mistake, Katsuki Bakugo?" Ryo asked in a calm manner.
Katsuki was silent by the question before he looked at the ground with a frustrated expression. "How? They were always accurate and he never had a quirk but all of a sudden, he has one! Hell, I hardly doubt he has one and it's just those stupid gauntlets he had! And even with them, he's still useless!"
Izuku, on the other hand, was tired of the blonde's attitude and insults before he stood up until Ryo slammed his hands on the table. "That's enough, Katsuki Bakugo!"
"But why is he here?!" Katsuki pointed at Izuku, his hands about to let out explosions at a retreating Izuku before the explosions vanished. Before he could react, his binding got tighter when he looked at his teacher who crimson eyes leered at him. "Stand down, Bakugo!"
"Let me go! That bastard-"
It was now Sekijiro's turn as he crouched down to Katsuki's level. "Bakugo."
The blonde turned to him with a glare.
"Izuku Midoriya came here of his own merit. Quirk or not, you have seen his examination in the remedial exams. Even though he is not my best student, he makes an effort in my class. If you touch my precious student again, I will not let you get off easily! Understand?" Sekijiro said with a glare, the blonde being taken aback and frustrated by this.
Izuku, on the other hand, was surprised by this development. He was never used to his teachers being by his side, no matter how severe the situation was, Katsuki was always revered. This was a weird and new feeling.
"Katsuki Bakugo!" Ryo folded his arms as he stood up from his chair. "We will need to increase your sessions with me as it seems that you don't understand the position that you're going for. You need to work on your anger management, your impulse control and simply your overall behavior and attitude. As you are now, you are very unbecoming of a hero."
"Tch!" Katsuki clicked his teeth in frustration and turned away.
"This is your final warning. If you do this again, you're out of the hero course." Everyone turned to the door to see Nezu who walked into the room with a peaceful smile on his face as he turned to Katsuki. "Understand?"
"Who the hell are you?" The blonde said with a glare to the principal, Izuku, however, bowed respectfully to the white animal. "Principal Nezu! Good morning!"
"Ah~ At least one of you is respectful." Nezu turned to Izuku with a huge smile. 'It could also be a byproduct of his treatment in the past. Who knows?'
"The principal? This little-"
"Katsuki Bakugo. I've been meaning to speak with you. As well as Izuku Midoriya." He stood in front of the two teenagers before he went to sit in Ryo's lap.
"Now let's get started." His expression turned into a serious one, his quick change in demeanor surprising the two boys.
"Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya." The principal started as his eyes peered into the two teenagers.
"The two of you went to Aldera Middle School, correct?" Nezu asked with a small smirk on his face. Katsuki huffed at the white animal's insight while Izuku, on the other hand, was worried when he heard what the principal said. 'Why is he talking about this now?'
"You were quite revered in that school, weren't you, Mr. Bakugo? The top student if I understand."
"Obviously! It's the same here as well!" The blonde folded his arms. "Those D-listers are nothing compared to me!"
"Is that so?" Nezu said with a nod. "Now this leads to my next question: Is this Aldera Middle School?"
"Huh?" Katsuki was confused by the question.
"Things aren't the same here like they were in middle school, Mr. Bakugo. What you get away with there will not be the same here. You're a young adult." Nezu stated calmly. "That includes your attitude and treatment of Mr. Midoriya."
Katsuki gritted his teeth before he stood up. "But that loser is a damn Deku? He shouldn't be at this school! Do you know how disrespectful it is that someone like him is here?! He isn't even powerful! I bet you he's at the bottom of his class! Just like always!"
'I'm trying though.' Izuku tightened his fists in frustration.
"Hmm. Interesting point." Nezu said before he turned to Shouta. "Eraser, what is his rank in the classroom?"
"Fifth." The man answered with his eyes closed, much to the blonde's frustration.
"With your logic, the students above you have the right to say the same thing about you that you said about Midoriya. Isn't that correct?" Nezu said with a soft smile, his words infuriating Katsuki to no end, making Izuku think the blonde was going to pop a blood vessel and explode.
"Bakugo. The world does not revolve you. We allow you to be in this course and we can take you out. Just like you think Midoriya does not belong in this course. We can also decide that you don't belong in this course. You will be punished for this. Do not do this again."
Katsuki could not believe it. No one has ever spoke back to him. Apart from his parents, everyone has always worshipped the ground he walked on. He was angry beyond words that they are protecting Deku of all people. "You-"
"End of discussion." Nezu said as he jumped off Ryo's lap before he turned to Izuku. "You should go to the infirmary just to make sure that you don't have any concussions."
After the discussion was over, everyone left the guidance counselling room, Katsuki fuming in anger as he put his hands in his pockets and grumbled to himself. After some time of walking with his student, Shouta then turned to the teen has a question on his mind. "How are you aware of Midoriya's quirklessness?"
"I go to the same elementary school as the loser. Our mothers are close friends from their school days." Katsuki clicked his teeth before he folded his arms in frustration. "I don't understand why that Deku is even here. He got a pair of damn gloves and changed his hair and now everyone thinks he's the shit! He's nothing! Why is he being protected?!"
"Bakugo." Aizawa stopped him, leaning on the wall with a tired look. "You should not be disclosing Midoriya's disposition to the public. Plus, you attacked him!"
"Why the hell not? He's just a quirkless-"
"Whatever he is or diagnosed with is his business. If he wants to tell anyone, it is his business. You have no right telling anything that he was in the past." Shouta raised his voice and glared at Katsuki with a stern expression. "Plus, it does not matter now. The past is the past, Bakugo."
The blonde gritted his teeth in pure anger and frustration, his hands balled into fists as he started to shake.
"Bakugo. There are people here who have trained and put in the effort to be here despite their circumstances. They have been offered a place in this academy for their hard work." The man put his hands in his pockets before his eyes descended to the floor. "There are a lot of things that our students that don't want their situation to get out in the open. Please respect Midoriya's decisions and control yourself. I'm honestly surprised that Nezu did not report you to the police and expel you from the course. I would."
Katsuki was silent, going to his classroom and picking up his things before he went to the exit of his classroom. "Despite your lucky circumstances, you will still be harshly punished for this, Bakugo."
This surprised the blonde who turned to his teacher who was picking up his papers from his cabinet.
"I already told you that you need to control that behavior of yours. Understand this, Bakugo. This isn't a game. How you're acting can be the difference between life and death. We're dealing with people's lives."
'The hell?' The blonde gritted his teeth angrily as he started to breathe heavily, veins appearing on his forehead.
"Bakugo, no more of this behavior." Shouta said before he turned around and gave Katsuki a glare as his hair and scarf started to float into the air. "I'll think about your punishment tomorrow. I already have a headache with the curriculum for next week."
Left to his lonesome, Katsuki gritted his teeth as his palms started to crackle before he turned to the other direction, his gaze fixed on a singular person. "That damn bastard!"
He stomped out of his classroom before he saw Izuku who was about to leave the UA college, dashing towards the verdette before he grabbed him by the collar.
"You better get out of this course, you useless De-"
"It's Izuku Midoriya." Izuku said as he glared at Katsuki, the blonde being shaken by the verdette's eyes. "You think you can-"
"Bakugo." Izuku grabbed Katsuki's arm.
"You're good at everything you do. You barely have any weaknesses. You even have an awesome quirk."
Izuku's grip tightened on the limb which surprised the blonde, the verdette feeling angry as he continued.
"I don't have that! I was freaking quirkless! I had to work hard for years to get half as good as you. Hell, my quirk can barely do anything!"
Katsuki pulled his arm, about to unleash an explosion. "You little shit!"
Smacking away his hand for the explosion to be shot elsewhere, Izuku let out a sigh before he turned around without looking back at the blonde. "I'm here in UA now and I'm not leaving so deal with it." With that, Izuku left Katsuki who was frozen in shock and disbelief as his shoulders twitched uncontrollably. "That bastard..."
As he turned a corner, Izuku felt his legs lose its energy as he fell to the ground as he clutched his heart and started panting. 'Man, that was scary.'
Izuku felt completely frustrated as he looked at the scar on his arm before he wore a determined expression. 'I'll prove him wrong.'
"Izuku. Get this to table 3 please!" Aoi said as she handed a tray of food to Izuku who quickly nodded before he dashed towards the table and presented the customers the food. It has been a week since his confrontation with Katsuki, the verdette trying to take his mind off the event as he drowned himself in his training and his job. Today at his job, he had a new hairstyle with his hair being slicked back, courtesy of Kokoa.
"Izuku, your friends are here." Aoi said as she pointed to his friend group, Toru happily waved at him. "Hi, Zuku!"
"Oh, ok." Izuku went over to them, noticing that some of his classmates are within the group which surprised him. 'Didn't expect Ms. Uraraka, Ms. Kendo and Ms. Tokage to be here.'
"Sup, Zuku?" Hitoshi and Denki saluted the green-haired waiter who returned the greeting. "Hey, guys. How are you doing?"
"A chocolate cake!" Mei loudly ordered, Izuku immediately giving her a slice of cake which made the girl squeal before he scarfed down the food. "So good~"
"So this is where you work, Lettuce? Nice hairstyle. You're surprising rocking the waiter outfit!" Setsuna winked at Izuku which made him nervous before he took out his notebook and pencil. They made their orders which Izuku took and dashed off to deal with another customer.
"With how he acts at college, I'm surprised he's able to keep a job like this." Itsuka said honestly as they watched their green-haired classmate working diligently around the cafe, Setsuna agreeing with her. "Yeah! He's so shy but seriously...'The Bunny waiter'."
"I mean, he acts like shy and reserved like a rabbit so it makes sense." Ochaco commented before Setsuna had a smirk on her face. "When you scare him, he even hops like one."
"Noted." Setsuna smirked. After some time waiting, Izuku came with their orders and handed them their foods before Denki decided to speak with a grin. "Where's your girlfriend that always visits the cafe?"
'Girlfriend?!' This caught the girls' attention as they started to blow whistles at Izuku who blushed before he sighed and speak. "She's not my girlfriend. She's just a customer that happens to come here often."
"And requests for him!" Naomi said from the kitchen, much to Izuku's embarrassment. "We have another order for Table 5, Aunt Nao!"
"Got it~" She sang before going back into the kitchen. Izuku looked at his friends, Hitoshi nudging the blushing verdette. "Come on, man. Have you gotten her number?"
"Toshi, we don't exchange phone numbers with our customers." Izuku said matter-of-factly.
"He doesn't." Aoi chimed in which confused the verdette. "But it's a rule though."
"You still follow that rule, Izmi?" Kokoa passed by them as she gave a bowl of ramen to an elderly customer who gave him a teasing smirk. "C'mon, Midoriya boy! You don't have to be so strait-laced. Live a little!"
"B-but Aunt Nao told us that rule." Izuku said with a perplexed look on his face.
"And Mom's breaking that rule right now." Kokoa pointed at Naomi who was exchanging numbers with an elderly woman before helping her out of the cafe. Izuku was surprised by what he saw before he looked back to his friends to see them giving him snarky looks, especially Hitoshi and Denki, making the verdette pinch his nose in embarrassment. 'I...there goes my excuse.'
"It's alright. At least they can't say you're not someone who does not break the rules." Ochaco tried to reassure Izuku who calmly sat by their table with his face in his hands. 'Note to self...I don't even know what to make a mental note of.'
"I'm...just gonna go take a break." Izuku said as he went to the kitchen, Aoi patting him on the head. "He'll be alright."
Before Izuku could sit down, his phone started ringing which he answered. "Hel-"
"Izu, you and Eyeshadow! To the junkyard! Now!" Mei said before the call cut off. "Uhh…Toshi. Mei wants us at the junkyard…now."
"Seriously, I'm eating. She's going to have to wait." As soon as Hitoshi said that, his phone started to ring which he answered. "What's u-"
"Don't you dare keep me waiting, Eyeshadow! Now! Or else!" He was surprised by her outburst before he let out a sigh. "I guess we have to go."
"Guys, we'll be right back." Izuku said, getting a collective nod from his friends.
They then had to leave, Izuku taking his break as they both travelled to the junkyard, Izuku was enjoying the quietude while he was looking at the sky, his eyes sparkled as he felt all of his troubles going away.
"It's been a while since we've hanged out here." Hitoshi said as he walked around the place before he leaned on one of the cars. "Glad to see the place is back in one piece after that Phantom Gang fiasco. And it's quieter now. So where is sh-"
"Mei Hatsume has arrived!" Mei came out of a pile of junk with a huge grey backpack on her back, surprising the two boys.
"How long were you in there?" Hitoshi said as the girl went into her bag with a huge smile while Izuku was wiping her face. "Long enough."
"That doesn't answer my que-"
"Here are the newly improved Shockwave Gauntlets! Courtesy of Mei Hatsume!" Mei announced as she lifted the gear into the air before she gave it to Izuku. She then took out a refined black scarf and gave it to Hitoshi. "And also your upgraded gear as well, Eyeshadow!"
Hitoshi smiled as he received the scarf as he noticed that the tips of the scarf are metallic. "About time. And it's look so cool now. A black scarf."
"Yeah. The metal tips are magnets which help you with grappling as it magnetizes to either itself or metallic surfaces. Try it out!" Hitoshi put the scarf around his neck before he lashed his weapon towards a can, seeing it quickly magnetize to the metallic object which helped him to pull the object to him with relative ease. "Alright! Now this is progress."
"Yeah! Teach was proud of it too." Mei laughed heartily, the two boys shared a look as they knew the reason for his happiness. 'It's because it's an assignment that you did that didn't result in an explosion.'
Izuku then put on his gauntlets, realizing a difference in the design as it looks sleeker and less bulky than they were the first time. As he inspected the gear, he noticed a golden meter coil on the wrist section before he decided to move it, resulting in a clicking sound as he saw numbers along the coil. "What are these, Mei?"
Mei's eyes gleamed before she ran towards him with immense enthusiasm. "Oh! It's an upgrade. Those help to control the power of your blasts! My babies can make you shoot a light breeze or go ballistic!"
"That's cool. Although I'm interested to see what 'ballistic' is." Hitoshi raised a brow curiously as he played with his scarf. Izuku let out a shaky smile as he adjusted the coils on his arm. "Oh come on, guys. With the way my quirk works, I don't see me being able to-ow!"
His hand accidentally glowed, firing a powerful blast of air that hit one of the vehicles, making a dent and pushed it back. Everyone watched the vehicle tipped into the air before it fell back to the ground, Izuku being the most shock as his mouth continued his sentence. "…shoot…anything…strong…"
"Damn." Hitoshi whistled.
"As expected of my babies! They're so adaptable!" Mei grinned with her arms at her hips.
Barely recovering from the shock of what happened, Izuku noticed that his arm is not numb as he moved it around, the limb feeling more or less the same. "Huh? Guess all that hellish training from Vlad King did pay off. I never got to train with the last pair since I got enrolled into the official course."
"So your hands are now like guns? Cool! You're gonna make my babies look extra good!" Mei said as she picked up one of his arms and pretended that it was a rifle, getting a small chuckle from Hitoshi. "So your hands can shoot blasts now?"
"I dunno…" Izuku mumbled before he walked forward and prepared another shot which pierced through the windows of the car. "…until I understand what I can do with this. I'm gonna cool off on 'full power' for now."
"What are you gonna call it?" Hitoshi asked a question, Mei also curious as she went into his face, Izuku thought for a moment before he snapped his finger.
"Wind Blast!"
There was pure silence after that, Hitoshi and Mei gave him judgmental glares for a while before they turned to each other and nodded. Hitoshi put a hand on Izuku's shoulder, a disappointed look on his face as she shook his head. "Zuku…you have lost all naming rights to your moves and abilities for the time being."
"Wait…what?" Izuku said confused, raising a brow as Mei put a hand on his other shoulder. "Sorry, Izu. It has to be done."
"Yes. It's quite the tragedy." Hitoshi patted the verdette's back as he made the decision. "All rights to naming your moves will be given to me!"
Izuku was offended by this before he spoke. "You can't think of a better name for that attack in a sec-"
"Air Bullet."
As Hitoshi said that, everything came to silence as Izuku tried to think of a way to protest which ended in failure until the teen fell to the ground and silently gave up. As he did so, Mei came up to the verdette with a piece of paper and pen in her hand as she pointed at the bottom of the paper.
"You can sign right here."
Izuku signed the paper begrudgingly, grumbling angrily as Hitoshi patted him on the back. "Don't worry, man. I'll give you the best names for your moves."
"Shut up, man." Izuku said before he got up and practiced with his gloves, getting a laugh from Mei and Hitoshi.
"It's time to go back. My break is almost finished." He then decided to go back to the cafe, wanting to thank Mei for making the inventions and to let the girl take a break. The trio then left the junkyard, the two boys of the Hero course very excited to use their new gears soon.
"Hands in the air or we'll kill you!" A huge man entered into a store, his hands transformed into stone as he swung his arms and broke the window, causing everyone in the store to scream and run in panic. He then went to the store clerk who is a female goth looking girl who was chewing a gum, grabbing her by the collar with a fist raised. "You don't wanna die right?"
"Can you not break the windows please? We just paid for those." The clerk said in a monotone voice which surprised the man as he tightened his grip. "Should you be more worried about your life?"
"Yeah. I won't stop you. Just take whatever you want." She said, surprising the stone villain again before he put down the woman. "Oh...ok. Thank you for your participation. Guys! Take their things!"
A group of masked men came into the store and took their things, making sure to gather the civilians into a corner. "Just stay right there! We'll be quick!"
As they were about to steal from the place, they noticed a pink smoke wafting the area which surprised the group. Before the stone villain could realize what is happening, his subordinates fell to the ground unconscious which made him put on a stone mask. "What is happening?"
"I never thought I would have to deal with this early in the morning." A feminine voice said within the cloud of smoke. Out of the smoke emerged a masked woman who was dressed in a black and red skinsuit along with a black breastplate and a red dominatrix belt, the woman adjusted her dark red gloves and boots. Her red shades covered half of the top section of her face as she walked towards him, her black trench coat being blown by the wind. What caught his eye was the logo on the person's chest which is two crescents and a line connecting them, forming an 'M'.
"We're saved! It's Lady Midnight!" Everyone celebrated as the woman faced against the stone villain who just chuckled when he looked at the woman.
"The Pro Hero Midnight..." He started as he walked towards the woman who simply adjusted her mask and her hair. "Don't you think that you're punching a bit above your weight class. How can you hold your own against me?"
"It's the third time this month, Rokuro." Midnight massaged her temples before she folded her arms. "Why don't you get a job?"
"It's too hard." The stone villain, Rokuro, whined which made Midnight light up that did not go unnoticed by the man. "No puns!"
"Killjoy." She muttered before she went to the villain. "But jobs aren't supposed to be easy. We all have to survive somehow. How do you think these people at the store feel? You're making it worse for them. We are humans."
"Yes...and this is how I will survive!" Rokuro shouted as he rushed towards Midnight who backed away. He tried to strike the woman who dodged his attacks, leading him to the entrance of the store before she dodged his fist, grabbed his arm and used the momentum to do a shoulder throw to fling him outside.
"Evacuate the place! The police will be here soon!" She said to the civilians inside the store, Rokuro rushing towards her. "You're wide open."
Midnight moved out of the way of his strike before she pulled out a long, red and black whip from her trench coat and swung it which made it wrap around the stone villain's neck, pulling him towards her in order to hit him with a strong blow to the face that cracked his mask. He tried to recover but it failed when he was hit with a couple more strikes that knocked him into a light post.
"How the? You're not that-" He noticed the brass knuckles on her gloves as she made a battle stance. 'Brass knuckles? Did she make another costume change?'
Turning his fists and chest into stone, Rokuro ran at the woman who ducked under his strike and kicked his foot to knock him off balance. Finding an opening, Midnight dashed in front of him before she launched a flurry of punches to his stomach, cracking the stone covering it. She then landed a heavy blow onto the villain which made him fall to the ground, the man trying to get up and continue.
"Can you fall down quicker? I have an appointment at 9 AM!" Midnight said as she kicked him in the face which did nothing as he got up and charged at her. "You will fall."
"Not cool, Rokuro." Midnight punched him with all her might, breaking the mask before her arm erupted in smoke which made him cough profusely.
"You won't win..." He said as his vision became blurry as he started to see doubles as he wobbly made his way to her. "I...will...prevail..."
He collapsed to the ground, Midnight patting his head. "You did well but you have to pay for your actions."
After she gathered the villains in the area, she heard the police arriving to the scene and walked up to her.
"Nice job, Lady Midnight!" The officer said as the woman smiled and gave them the captured villains. "It's no problem. I'm just glad that no one got hurt."
She then heard an alarm, looking at her phone to see the time before she screamed and ran away from the area. "I'm going to be late! I have to go!"
"We can drive you to your destination." A policewoman offered but she shook her head as she continued running down the street and turned a corner, licking her lips as she looked at the students of class 1B. "I hope I'm not too late for class. I'm looking forward to class."
It was another day at the UA University as Class 1B were on the grounds of Gym Gamma, doing their exercises. Everyone was training until their teacher came to the gym in his hero outfit, his arms folded as he nodded at his students training diligently before he shouted.
"Everyone, gather around!"
All of the students stopped their activities and gathered around the white-haired man who had a piece of paper in his hands.
"Alright! Today, we're going to be doing something a little different. Come on, Kayama."
As he said that, Nemuri coming to the P.E. grounds with a huge smile on her face before she put her hands on her knees and panted. "Sorry...I'm a little late...had some business to deal with before...getting here."
The class had troubled expression, some of the students a little taken aback by the woman's aptitude since she is dressed in a closed trench coat which hid her hero costume. Izuku checked out the woman with a scrutinizing eye before his eyes widened in realization.
"We're going to be doing a little sparring match today. I wanna see how you're holding up with your training." Nemuri said with her hands on her hips. "For this activity, if any of you need a weapon to showcase your quirk, use your weapon."
"Sparring sessions?" Itsuka raised a brow which made the teacher nodded as she folded her arms. "Yep! Your teacher usually likes to put you through quirk exercise first before he makes you guys go through the actual practical classes. This is why Shouta is always ahead of you."
"For the first year." Vlad said with a frown. "He has his own teaching style. I have mine."
"Sure. It has been almost half six months since you have made them do this, not including the remedials." Nemuri gave him a teasing smirk before she clapped her hands. "Now let me see how good you are. If you need a weapon, go for it. I'm here to see your art of combat."
Everyone was very excited for the exercise, Togaru, Tetsutetsu and Itsuka being very anxious while Kinoko and Kodai were a bit disappointed by the activity.
"Finally, I get to test my metal." Tetsutetsu said with a smile as his hands turned into steel. "I wonder who my opponent will be."
As everyone were preparing for their fights, Izuku's interest was on his new teacher Nemuri, the woman looked to be familiar to the hero fanatic as he checked his notebook. 'She looks familiar but I don't know why. She could be a hero but who?'
While the class was being escorted to a battlefield with a huge chalk line in the form of a circle, Itsuka could not hold back her excitement as she shook uncontrollably, surprising Izuku. "Someone's excited for the exercise."
"Well, yeah!" Itsuka said as she stretched her arms. "We have been training our quirks with barely any hero exercises so you can't blame me for being a bit happy."
"Oh, I see what you mean. We have been training for weeks." Izuku said while scratching his head.
"It's months, Midoriya." Monoma chimed in with his hands in his pocket which surprised the verdette. "It's really been months?!"
"You should really work on your sense of time." Monoma let out a sigh. Izuku let out a nervous chuckle as he adjusted his gauntlets on his arms which Monoma noticed something. 'Aren't those different from the gloves he had on his first day?'
"You got new gloves, Midoriya?" Yosetsu said with a smile as he inspected the new gear, Izuku shyly rubbing his cheek. "Yeah. My last ones were…you know. So Mei built me a new pair. Wasn't expecting it so quick?"
"The pink-haired mechanic, right? Man, she works fast. Maybe I should think of her to build me a weapon." Yosetsu said before he nudged him. "You got any more notes on my quirk?"
"Maybe." Izuku took out his notebook and checked until he reached a page. "I have some-"
"Midoriya and Rin, report to the stage!" Nemuri said excitedly.
"I guess it's my turn." Izuku said before he gave Yosetsu his book. "You can just read it."
"Thanks, man." Yosetsu said as he took the book and read it.
As both males went to the battlefield, Izuku was a little nervous as he thought about Hiryu's quirk. 'His Scales quirk is going to be a little tricky to get around. He can throw them like projectiles and they can protect his arms as well. Maybe my Air Bullets can do something.'
He then noticed his opponent approaching him which made him flinch and put his guard up before he saw that he was going for a handshake. "H-huh?"
"I wish for the best from the both of us. Also, thank you for your guidance with how I can use my quirk more efficiently. Also, no hard feelings in this fight, Midoriya." Hiryu said with a smile which confused Izuku before he looked around. He then let down his guard and shook his classmate's hand. "Uhh…S-sure!"
"So it's that Midoriya guy, huh? Doesn't seem like he'll put up much of a fight against Rin with how his quirk works." Sen said with his arms crossed, some of the other males agreeing with him which made Yosetsu smiled as he made an announcement. "Alright then. Calling all bets! Who do you think is gonna win?"
Juzo eyed both combatants before he made his decision. "From the showcasing of their abilities, my decision would be Hiryu Rin."
"Yeah, Midoriya has heart but Rin is much more skilled with his quirk and in combat. That doesn't mean that Midoriya ain't no pushover." Itsuka chimed in, Ibara nodding in agreement. Watching Izuku taking steady breaths and putting on his gauntlets, Setsuna wore a troubled expression. "Well, Midoriya doesn't look like he's gonna go down easy."
"But that quirk he has says otherwise. Maybe he found a breakthrough." Monoma commented, the class hearing Midnight's announcement to start the match.
Suddenly, Izuku sprinted at his opponent, Hiryu not wasting any time as he threw a barrage of scales. Quickly dodging the scales, the verdette immediately got a burst of speed which surprised his scale quirked combatant as he ended up in front of him. "What the?"
"Woah!" Tetsutetsu said in surprise.
"I keep forgetting how fit he is." Monoma commented calmly however Setsuna was quiet as she observed Izuku's movements.
Before Hiryu could lift his hands to block, a punch connected to his gut before another followed which pushed him back.
'Damn! He punches really hard.' Hiryu thought as he was barely able to keep his balance. He then went for a strike which Izuku evaded, Hiryu deciding to back away and jump into the air and threw his scales. Retreating, Izuku adjusted his gauntlets before he swung his arm which unleashed a blast of wind that deflected the scales, surprising his classmates.
"What the hell was that?"
"He can manipulate the wind?! I thought only the dude from Class 1A could do that."
"That's not cool! I should be the only person to use the wind." Kosei mumbled angrily, crossing his arms. Vlad smiled as he watched the blast hit Hiryu who was able to withstand the blast despite being pushed back a little. 'Good. The training is bearing fruit for the boy. It's not strong but it's not weak either.'
"He blasted away all my shuriken. I can't allow him to shoot another one of those." Hiryu commented before he went on the offensive and rushed at his opponent.
The two begun to trade blows as one of Hiryu's fist grazed Izuku's cheek that caused some blood to trickle, the verdette grabbing his arm before throwing him over his shoulder and onto the ground. The scale quirk user rolled back to his feet and rushed forward, moving out of the way of Izuku's kick before he punched Izuku into his stomach, his scales grazing his opponent. Continuing with his assault, Hiryu went for a kick before he ended it with an uppercut, some of the classmates noticed the direction of Izuku's hands pointed at Hiryu's stomach.
Noticing this, Monoma's eyes widened as he unconsciously spoke. "Uh oh."
"Umm…he's…" Kinoko mumbled.
"His hands…" Yui commented.
Hearing the two girls, everyone looked at the verdette's hand before he unleashed an Air Bullet that sent Hiryu flying. Seeing the performance, Nemuri watched with a smile as she saw Izuku dashing towards his opponent. "Someone has a very creative mind when it comes to his quirk."
'I need to be a little closer.' Izuku thought before he noticed Hiryu starting to recover. 'Can't allow him to do that.'
Without missing a beat, Izuku angled his arms and concentrated as he watched his opponent about to fall.
'Visualize myself as a pinball. Think quickly, move quickly. Now!' He then shot a blast from one hand to propel himself towards his opponent like a rocket before he shot another one from his other hand that kicked up the dust, blocking Hiryu's vision. 'Damn it! He's gonna tackle me from the front so-'
Hiryu was caught off guard when a kick hit his back, looking behind him to be introduced to a punch to his face. Izuku continued attacking until he noticed Hiryu regaining his sight which made him stop and retreat.
As his opponent went on the offensive, Izuku played defense by blocking Hiryu's strikes until he felt the pain from his arms when he had to grab one of his opponent's hands.
'Crap! I need to be careful with his scales. Right now, my arms can only hold on for around three more bullets left. I have to make them count.' Izuku thought as he tried to gain some distance before he endured the scales being thrown at him, hissing in pain when they got embedded into his skin.
"Aaah…" Itsuka cringed when she saw Izuku picking off the scales off his arms. "Doesn't that hurt? It's literally in his skin."
"Yeah. That's just…unsettling." Setsuna cringed as well, Tetsutetsu however was excited. "That's metal."
"Have some of your own medicine!" Izuku used his blast as he threw the scales, they all pelted the scale quirk user before he received a punch to the face. Hiryu then went to attack Izuku who dodged and blocked his attacks, ignoring the pain until Izuku swung his knee into stomach before he shot a blast that sent him back.
'Hmm. So he has a limit to the blasts he shoots. It is smart that he is using other methods and using others ways to go around that limit.' Vlad thought as he watched the verdette rush towards the ravenette. Hiryu then shot his scales at Izuku who continued going forward, ignoring the scales pelting his body, everyone watched him in awe.
"Ok. Now that looks like it hurts." Tetsutetsu stepped back in shock. Monoma, on the other hand, was surprised by Izuku's tenacity as he made a comment. "Does he have immunity to pain or something?"
"No...he's just a madman." Setsuna stated with a disgusted expression.
As Izuku was about to go for a punch, Hiryu dodged the strike and went back before he was about to shoot again which Izuku noticed as he stopped in his tracks.
"Oh no you don't!" The verdette said, putting his hand behind him as he checked the distance. 'Alright, close the distance. Angle my hand and-'
Shooting a small gust of wind, he quickly propelled himself towards Hiryu, landing a spin kick before hitting him with a Air Bullet that sent Hiryu flying.
'So that's his plan.' Vlad smirked, some of his students putting everything together. "He's about to fly out of the ring."
Before he could get out of the ring, Hiryu concentrated and pointed his arms to the ground, creating two elongated blades that was able to stop him from getting out of the ring, much to Izuku's surprise. "What the? That's…"
"Like I said, Midoriya. I have to thank you for your creative ideas." Hiryu said as he got onto his feet, retracting his blades and eyeing Izuku. "That's why I want no hard feelings because I'm going to beat you."
The scaled teen immediately dashed forward and struck Izuku, knocking him back.
'Crap! That was my last bullet too!' Izuku thought as his hands started to feel heavy which Hiryu took advantage of as he repeatedly struck Izuku in his face, drawing blood. "Yield, Midoriya."
He then continued to struck the green-haired teenager for a while until Izuku managed to block his strikes.
'My hands feel like they're on fire. But...' Izuku was able to retaliate by grabbing his opponent by the collar before landing a headbutt that made him step back in aching pain.
"What the hell?" Hiryu cursed before he went for a punch which Izuku grabbed, ignoring the scales piercing his flesh.
"Lettuce is nuts. It's like he forgot what pain's supposed to do to you." Setsuna whistled, Itsuka agreed. "Yeah, I never seen Rin have this much problems before."
Meanwhile, Hiryu punched Izuku in the face, the verdette pushed back the punch before he retaliated by elbowing his opponent into his stomach. Not missing a beat, Izuku turned around and unleashed all his strength, flipping Hiryu over his shoulder before slamming him to the ground.
"Jackpot!" Izuku said with a smile, Hiryu surprised by the verdette's behavior before he looked around to see that he was out of bounds. "How the? When?"
"Izuku Midoriya wins!" Vlad announced, Izuku being happy as his arms started to emit a huge amount of smoke. Itsuka and Yui went to Izuku, taking off his gloves before they gasped at seeing his hands bulging with veins but what made them surprised is that his veins were glowing a green color.
"Mr. Vlad! Ms. Kayama! Should this be happening?" Itsuka asked worried which made the two teachers ran to the student, he and everyone else in shock at the predicament of Izuku's hands. "What is this?"
As they called for the nurse, they were all unaware of Toshinori who was by one of the buildings, his eyes widened in fear and disbelief as he tried to replay what he saw. Beside him was Naomasa who was equally as surprised as the two shared a worried look.
"That power… it couldn't be…" Naomasa could barely utter while Toshinori wore a serious expression. "It's different and weaker but there is no doubt. It's just like his attack."
The chapter I have been waiting for. Or the move I have been waiting for. You guys have no idea how long I wanted to write Air Bullet. Air Bullet was supposed to be in this story since chapter 6 but I had to make major changes to the story in order to make things interesting. But yeah, Air Bullet is here, Izuku is making strides physically and mentally and school is seeming more fun, minus Bakugo. Well, hope you enjoy this chapter. Take care.
Enigma out!
