Chapter Two-hundred and fifty-three: Super Class Shenanigans
The reborn trainers were in the Johto region as part of their travels for the current season of the World Coronation Series. Dawn, with her alpha Hisuian Arcanine Argent, had just won a battle against a male trainer using a Tropius. After the battle was concluded, the Rotom Drone showed that Dawn's ranking in the current season of the World Coronation Series had just risen to 982. "Contestant Dawn Berlitz has just entered the Great Class," the Rotom Drone announced, "She can now only challenge and accept challenges from other Great Class trainers."
As the Rotom Drone took off after Dawn's opponent left, Kenny said, "Congratulations, my main man! You're in the Great Class now!"
Dawn nodded once in the affirmative. "I have to battle my way to ninety-ninth place at least to get to the Ultra Rank," Dawn remarked as she recalled Argent.
"Battles will be getting dicier for you from this point moving forward," Mina said, "You think you can handle it?"
"She defeated Cynthia, and much more recently Leon," Trip said, "I think that my sister has the potential to make her way into the Masters Eight."
Dawn nodded once in acknowledgement before she and the others all took off for the nearest Pokémon Center, which was in Azalea Town. Once they got to the Pokémon Center, the reborn trainers were greeted by a number of persons who were eager to see trainers competing in the current season of the World Coronation Series. It was not too big of a crowd so Mina's phobia wasn't triggered, but the people were still sent off when Dawn explained that she needed to have a Pokémon of hers treated as it had just gotten out from a battle.
...
While Argent was being treated, the reborn trainers sat together in the lobby of the Pokémon Center. As they sat, Mina was checking things on her smartphone. "Oh, it seems a few faces we're familiar with have also all battled their way into the Great Class," Mina said.
Looking up from his drink, Kenny asked, "Anyone good?"
"Well there's that autistic girl Nina who's in the Great Class now," Mina began, "And that Champion-ranked trainer from Paldea, Rimu, is a Great Class trainer now as well. Oh, Paul made it into the Great Class too."
Dawn smiled in mild amusement, happy to see so many familiar names in the Great class now. When Dawn asked about Ash, Mina looked him up and saw that Ash while still in the Normal Class looked close to breaking his way into the Great Class. As the reborn trainers relaxed, Mina made a surprised sounding hum, catching the others' attention. "What is it, babe?" Kenny asked.
"I'm reading something here about a man named Brandon who's competing in the current season of the World Coronation Series having turned heads with his rising through the ranks," Mina said, "The article describes it at meteroic, and apparently he's won every battle he's had thus far without any of his Pokémon being defeated in battle. Oh, now I recognize him as I'm seeing a photo of him in this article."
Mina turned her phone around to show the others, and they all saw a photo of Pyramid King Brandon, one of the Kanto Battle Frontier Brains, and a man known for his penchant for using the legendary Pokémon Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Mina pulled her phone back and said something about how Brandon has been exclusively using his legendary Regis in the World Coronation Series thus far; although it makes him predictable for his opponents, the Pyramid King still always pulls off flawless wins due to the sheer power he boasts and brings to the table.
Kenny leaned back in his seat. "The Pharaoh of the Pyramid has been restricted from using his Regis in battle against challengers to the Battle Pyramid for the Brave Symbol, barring special circumstances, due to challengers to the Kanto Battle Frontier having submitted complaint after complaint about how his legendary Pokémon are just too much for them to handle. Brandon's bosses in the Kanto Battle Frontier had to whack him upside the head with the nerfing stick at least once in order to make beating the Battle Pyramid, and thus completing the Battle Frontier, a doable thing."
"But in the World Coronation Series," Trip said, "Where there's no restrictions on what Pokémon competing trainers can and can't use, Brandon's quickly racking up wins by spamming his Regis like there's no tomorrow." Turning to look at Dawn, Trip asked, "What do you think?"
Dawn closed her eyes, wore an expression of consideration on her face. "...That at the rate he's going," Dawn said, "Brandon will eventually meet up with us given how we're going to be rising as well, and we have legendary Pokémon of our own. He may also end up running into Ideku, given that he has similarly powerful Pokémon."
"Do you think Brandon will make it into the Masters Eight?" Kenny asked.
Shrugging, Dawn replied, "Who can say?" After the reborn trainers talked things out a bit more, Dawn was told that Argent had finished being looked over and was ready for pickup. After she had collected her named Alpha Hisuian Arcanine, Dawn left with Kenny, Trip, and Mina go continue their travels for the current season of the World Coronation Series.
The next stop on their travels saw the reborn trainers head on back to Galar. There, Dawn won another battle in the World Coronation Series, seeing her rank go up even higher. As for Kenny and Trip, they both won enough battles to see themselves rise up into the Great Class, although Dawn's score was well ahead of the boys. But even so, the reborn trainers were making heads turn. The reborn trainers, while having their Pokémon treated at the Pokémon Center in Hulbury, were relaxing while Mina was checking out how things were going in the World Coronation Series on her phone.
"...Oh," Mina said, "Now Ash is in the Great Class. Apparently he beat Korrina the gym leader in Kalos. And I'm also seeing something about Ideku in the Great Class."
Kenny held a can of soda he was drinking from up in a toast. "Mozel tov! Glad to hear it that Ash and Ideku are doing well!"
Dawn nodded in agreement, remembering that part of the anime from her previous life. Dawn was about to speak up, but stopped short when she heard Mina say, "Ooh, that doesn't sound too good."
Perking up a bit, Dawn asked, "What is it?"
"There's this one news article on Pyramid King Brandon being reprimanded by World Coronation Series officials," Mina said, "On the basis that he had talked down to an opponent he defeated after winning." Leaning back in her seat, Mina said, "Looks to me like Brandon tried to give one of his signature 'reason you suck speeches' to an opponent he bested after besting them, but then he got called out on it."
Looking to Mina, Trip asked, "Did the article also say who it was that Brandon defeated and then talked down to before being reprimanded for it?"
Looking back to the article, Mina said, "...Oh! It's a girl named Nemona who is a Champion-ranked trainer from Paldea. Apparently she was the one who had reported Brandon talking down to her because she felt it was unwarranted because she felt she didn't act or do anything wrong. The article further goes on to say that Brandon most likely would have been given a harsher reprimand were it not for how his use of the legendary Pokémon he has is bringing in crowds and overall is boosting what all viewership the current season of the World Coronation Series has, and as things are now he was given only a mild verbal warning about his penchant for dishing out talking-downs to trainers he beats."
"...I think Paul's little explosion at Brandon back in Snowpoint City a while ago is more warranted than I had initially thought," Dawn said, "Hopefully Brandon will refrain from giving out verbal dressing-downs to the trainers he beats, because I'm getting vibes that if he persists in continuing to do so, then legendaries or not, he'll get a lot worse than a light verbal reprimand."
"Still, it's interesting to hear that there's another trainer from Paldea taking part in the current season in the World Coronation Series," Trip said, "Does the article say anything about where this Nemona girl is located right now?"
Mina went back to looking at her phone. "...Oh, it says here that Nemona is in the Unova region, and is expected to remain there for the next week as she's looking to try and challenge Iris to a battle for the World Coronation Series."
Smirking a bit in amusement, Kenny said, "Well now! It looks like Unova is our next destination! Set a course for adventure!"
After a plane flight, the reborn trainers made it to Unova, arriving in Nimbasa City. After Dawn and the boys had won a good number of battles each for the World Coronation Series, they began asking around for that Nemona girl from the news article about Pyramid King Brandon being reprimanded. After Dawn won a battle that saw her rank rise up to 123, she and the others got the answer that they were looking for from the boy who Dawn defeated, a stereotypical geeky looking beanpole of a boy who used a Snover and a Wingull against Dawn and her named Infernape Chi-Chi (Chi-Chi used Fire Punch and Thunder Punch respectively on Snover and Wingull to one shot them).
"Oh, you mean Paldea Champion Nemona," the beanpole boy said, "Yeah, she's in Opelucid City. She went straight there after I told her that it's where Unova Champion Iris can be found."
Gesturing to the beanpole boy, Trip asked, "Did you see Nemona battle?"
The beanpole boy nodded once in the affirmative. "Yeah. She had a midday form Lycanroc and a Goodra, at least that's what she used when she battled and then defeated me. One trainer who Nemona defeated said she used something that supposedly is an evolved Dunsparce, another reported she had some big red worm thing, another reported she has something similar to a Raichu but it's part fighting type, and the one girl I heard had battled Nemona said she has a green bipedal feline thing." The beanpole boy gently shook his head. "The trainers of Paldea are something else, huh?"
The reborn trainers were surprised to hear how Nemona has a number of new Pokémon that they aren't familiar with, although they were able to figure that Nemona has a Meowscarada like the one Rimu has. They also didn't expect to hear that Nemona has something that apparently evolves from Dunsparce. After confirming that the girl they were looking for was still in Opelucid City, the reborn trainers got their dragons out, hopped on, and flew off to Opelucid City to meet Nemona, and hopefully learn more about the Pokémon that one can find in the region of Paldea.
...
Upon landing in Opelucid City, the reborn trainers first went straight to the local Pokémon Center to have their Pokémon rested. As their Pokémon were being treated, the reborn trainers sat in the main lobby of the Pokémon Center. "So where do we go to find this Nemona girl?" Kenny asked.
"We got it she's aiming to find and challenge Iris," Dawn said, "So the gym sounds like the most likely place to-"
"Oh you've got to be kidding!"
Dawn was cut off when she and the others heard a middle-aged man cry out in a tone of complaint. The reborn trainers all turned and looked to see a trio of middle aged men all arguing. "Did you hear in regional news how Champion Iris is trying to drum up support for repealing the law that bars foreigners from being able to lord over those who are Unova born and raised while on Unovan soil?" one of the middle aged men complained, "And here I thought that Champion Iris was going to help make Unova great again! She wants us to let damn dirty foreigners boss us around, and on our home turf!"
"It's the other regions putting pressure on Unovan government to let them call some shots," the second middle aged man said, an annoyed and bitter sneer in his tone, "It doesn't help they aren't giving us any aid in dealing with Unova's native sector of Team Scorn. With all due respect, it should be Unova and Unova alone calling all of the shots and being the hero!"
"I agree," replied the third middle aged man, "Only Unovans can save the day as Unova is the greatest region in the world!"
Over where the reborn trainers were seated, Dawn said, "Wow, the xenophobia is strong here in Unova."
Nodding once in agreement, Trip said, "At least Iris is taking more forceful, active steps in making Unova behave itself, or at least trying to make Unova behave itself."
"Guys, the girl we're looking for is a foreigner to Unova," Kenny said, "What if she's bothered for it?"
"If she is," Dawn began, "Then Iris better make people apologize for it. Nemona is a Champion of Paldea, so harassing a foreign region's Champion would be bad." The reborn trainers then proceeded to make their way over to the Opelucid City gym, hoping to find Iris there, and potentially Nemona as well.
The reborn trainers eventually made it over to the Opelucid City gym where, going inside, they were directed by a gym staff member to the stadium. Entering the stadium, Dawn and the others could hear the exchange of attacks, the shouts of commands, the clamorous din of battle. Making their way to the railing that separated the bleachers from the arena, the reborn trainers could look down in and see Iris, in her Champion outfit, battling a girl who wore a school uniform had had hallmarks comparable to what Rimu's outfit has.
A white short sleeved school uniform top with a pocket over the left breast and a gold shield shaped insignia on the left sleeve, an orange tie, orange shorts with pockets on the sides of both legs, black leggings, and red shoes with white highlights. The girl also wore a bag over her back, the strap going from her right shoulder to her left hip. She also wore some sort of red and black finger-less glove on her right arm, and it reached well past her elbow and up her right bicep. The girl was tan-skinned, with black hair pulled back in a ponytail save for a few strands of green hair hanging off the side.
This mysterious girl was commanding a midday form Lycanroc against Iris's Dragonite, and both Pokémon looked worn out. Dawn could tell that this exchange was going to decide the battle.
"Lycanroc, Stone Edge!" the mysterious girl commanded.
"Dragonite, use Dragon Rush!" Iris called out.
Both Pokémon used their respective attacks and both took heavy hits. After the dust settled, both Lycanroc and Dragonite collapsed, both clearly out of it. "Lycanroc and Dragonite are both defeated," the Rotom Drone announced, "This is a double knock out! Both Iris and Nemona are out of their respective allocated Pokémon, so this battle is a draw! There will be no change to the rankings of either contestant!"
Iris and the now identified Nemona recalled their respective Pokémon as Dawn got a look at the rankings of the two girls; both had rankings that put them well into the Great Class, although Iris admittedly had a few more points than Nemona. "Wow, Nemona," Iris said, "Trainers from Paldea sure are something else entirely. The last time I battled a Paldean trainer, it was that Rimu guy and he totally whumped me."
"You battled Rimu?" Nemona asked, looking excited, "Yeah, Rimu really is one heck of a Champion ranked trainer! Even Paldea's Top Champion says that she can't hold a candle to Rimu!"
"Hey Iris!" Dawn called out, making both Iris and Nemona turn to see Dawn and the other reborn trainers standing there in the bleachers, "Are you and your guest there free to talk?"
"Dawn?" Iris said in a surprised tone, "What are you doing here?"
...
After the reborn trainers met up with Iris and Nemona in the arena of the Opelucid City gym, they began to explain themselves. "Oh, so you were looking for me because you were hoping to learn more about Paldea," Nemona said, "Well that's no problem at all!"
"Yeah, Nemona here is a real nice girl," Iris explained, "But then again she's raised a Goodra, so someone who raises a dragon like that can't be all that bad."
Dawn chuckled a bit to Iris gushing over dragons again. "We also saw a news article concerning Nemona reporting a trainer who defeated her for unsportsman-like gloating," Dawn said.
Nemona's expression soured just a bit, but it was still an evident change. "Yeah, that Brandon guy chided me after he beat me in the battle we had, saying something about how I need to keep myself from getting too excited for battles because I'll lose focus otherwise, or something else like that."
"Brandon talked down to me in a similar manner after he defeated me in a battle we had," Iris said, a hint of concern in her tone, "Of course, if I was aware that I could have reported him for how he had talked down to me, I would have done so in a heartbeat."
Turning to look at Dawn, Kenny said, "Hey Dawn, you think you can beat Brandon in a battle?"
Dawn first asked what Brandon's rank in the current season in the World Coronation Series was, and learned that he was somewhere in the lower end of the top third of the Great Rank. "Okay, he and I are both Great Rank trainers," Dawn said, "So yeah, I actually can battle him." To the people in the arena as a whole, Dawn said, "Given that he'll obviously come at me with at least one of his legendary Pokémon, I feel that it would be acceptable for me to respond in kind."
"Ooh, now I recognize you!" Nemona said while pointing at Dawn, "You're Dawn Berlitz, the Champion of Sinnoh! You do own some legendary Pokémon from what I've gathered, but then again I've seen some of them in the Kenny Harris Studios movies."
Smirking in amusement, Kenny said, "So you've seen my movies?"
Nodding once, Nemona said, "Oh yeah, and there's something I wanna ask." Turning to look at Dawn, Nemona asked, "Dawn, what sort of diet do you have that lets you get really fat and really skinny back and forth really quickly?"
"None, I wore a fat suit for roles where I played a fat character," Dawn answered dryly.
Nemona, looking embarrassed, said, "...Oh."
Pulling out a mini notebook and a pen, Kenny said as he wrote something down, "And Nemona is the latest addition to the list."
"List of what?" Iris asked.
"List of people outside of the know who thought Dawn's weight was fluctuating for real," Trip replied, "Seriously, there have been a grand total of two people so far who had gotten it right the first time that Dawn was just using a fat suit. Most everyone else who comments on Dawn playing fat characters in Kenny's movies thought that Dawn's weight was going up and down for real."
Iris arched an eyebrow out of shocked and mildly confused surprise. "Only two people were correct the first time?"
Nodding once in the affirmative, Mina said, "Yeah, only two! The first is this girl named Chloe who's friends with Ash's new friend Goh, and the other is that Galarian girl Nina who's in the current season of the World Coronation Series."
"Oh, I heard about Nina!" Nemona said, "Apparently she's making waves with how well she's doing, and it's been noted she's the only trainer taking part in the current season of the World Coronation Series who is autistic. Nina also has a friend named Marnie who is also taking part in the current season, and Marnie is noted to be no slouch in battle herself." Pounding a fist into her hand, Nemona said, "I'd like to take a crack at battling a trainer like Nina."
"I'm also interested in battling you, to be honest," Dawn said, "After you've had time to have your Pokémon trea-"
Dawn was cut off when Nemona excitedly said, "I accept! Is two Pokémon each alright?"
The reborn trainers all looked at Nemona in confusion, as did Iris. "Shouldn't you get your Lycanroc and Goodra treated at the nearby Pokémon Center first?" Iris asked.
"I still have four Pokémon on hand that are fresh and ready for battle!" Nemona insisted, "I can do another two-on-two!"
Although Dawn felt similarly as Iris did, Nemona seemed sure that it would be fine. And Dawn as well as the other reborn trainers were still craving more intel on what all Pokémon can be located in the Paldea region. "...Well if you're sure about it," Dawn said, "Then I suppose I will accept the challenge right now." Nemona hopped up and down excitedly, giddy for the chance to get into another battle.
As Dawn and Nemona got ready, Kenny leaned to his side to whisper to Mina. "...I was at first getting some Yaoyorozu vibes from Nemona," Kenny whispered to Mina, "But now Nemona's coming off as much more of an Ashido." Mina nodded in agreement with her boyfriend as everyone went to get seats.
...
Once everyone was ready, the battle between Dawn and Nemona saw the two girls face off against one another, each standing on a different end of the battlefield in the arena of the Opelucid City gym. A battle in the Great Class of the current season of the World Coronation Series. Tossing up a Pokéball, Dawn called out, "Alright, Chi-Chi! Let's get goin'!"
"Go, Orthworm!" Nemona called out. Both girls sent their respective first Pokémon out, and it saw Dawn's named Infernape Chi-Chi up against Nemona's Orthworm, a new species of Pokémon to the reborn trainers. A large worm that was red on top and light orange on the bottom, it had six segments to its body although the second segment was steel colored and not red and light orange. The steel segment had three blue circles on each side, and the three segments after it had one blue circle on each side as well; only the last segment and the first segment which is the head didn't have those blue circles.
The head segment's light orange underside was actually Orthworm's lower jaw, and it had small blue eyes. "Well now, that's a new one," Dawn said, and right away she could hear Mina in the audience take her phone out to record a video of the battle.
Nodding once, Nemona said, "Oh yeah, Orthworm here is a pure steel type, and he's got an ability called Earth Eater, which not only makes him immune to ground attacks, but if he's hit by one then it'll heal him if he's hurt."
"Thanks for the warning," Dawn replied, a bit confused as to why Nemona warned her. Pointing forward, Dawn called out, "Chi-Chi, use Fire Punch!"
"Orthworm, use Earthquake!" Nemona called out.
Chi-Chi rushed in and not only slugged Orthworm in the face really hard with a fiery fist, but said strike inflicted a burn on Orthworm. As such, Orthworm's Earthquake didn't hurt Chi-Chi as much as it normally would have, although the named Infernape still did take a lump. Wanting to keep up the pace after seeing Orthworm hurt by its burn, Dawn ordered, "Chi-Chi, use Fire Punch again!"
Gesturing forward, Nemona called out, "Orthworm, use Body Press!"
This time, Orthworm jumped up into the air to slam its body down upon Chi-Chi, but that was countered by Chi-Chi raising a fiery fist up and slugging Orthworm right in the gut, scoring a critical hit that made Orthworm fall over defeated. "Orthworm has been defeated," the Rotom drone announced, "Infernape wins!"
Dawn let out a relieved sigh as Nemona recalled her fainted Orthworm. But Nemona didn't seem discouraged, but rather was more excited. Tossing up the Pokéball that held her second and last Pokémon for the battle, Nemona called out, "Go, Dudunsparce!" Nemona's second Pokémon was her Dudunsparce, which to the reborn trainers looked like a bigger Dunsparce; the only difference is that Dudunsparce had a three segmented body, one pair of little white wings per segment, little blue points along its lower jaw like a beard, and there was a little blue tip on the end of its tail.
"...Chi-Chi that's enough, fall back," Dawn said as she swapped her Pokémon out, a hint of caution in her tone as she regarded the Dunsparce lookalike, "Alright, Lincoln! Let's get goin'!" To the surprise of the reborn trainers, Dawn sent in her named Latios, although his appearance made Iris really excited. Gesturing to Nemona, Dawn called out to her, "That's some impressive looking super-Dunsparce you got there. What did you call it again?"
"Dudunsparce," Nemona explained, "It's the evolved form of Dunsparce. The evolution was first discovered in Paldea. Dudunsparce is pure normal type, just the same as Dunsparce. It's also been determined that Dunsparce evolves into Dudunsparce by getting stronger while knowing a move called Hyper Drill."
Looking curious, Dawn said, "I've... never heard of that Hyper Drill move before."
Smirking in amusement, Nemona said, "Then why don't I show you? Dudunsparce, use Hyper Drill!"
Gesturing forward, Dawn called out, "Lincoln, use Aura Sphere!"
Dudunsparce jumped up, aimed its tail at Lincoln, and began to quickly spin in a rotating manner like a drill. As for the named Latios, he conjured and cast an Aura Sphere attack that blasted right into Dudunsparce, knocking it down and slamming it into the ground of the battlefield in the Opelucid City gym. When the dust settled, everyone saw it that Dudunsparce was defeated. "Dudunsparce has been defeated," the Rotom drone announced, "Latios wins! The winner of the battle is Dawn!"
As Nemona recalled her defeated Dudunsparce, Dawn let out a relieved sigh. "Whew," Dawn said as she let out a relieved sigh, "That was-"
"Contestant Dawn Berlitz has just entered the Ultra Class," the Rotom Drone announced, cutting Dawn off. Everyone turned to look when they heard the Rotom Drone announce that Dawn had just made her way into the Ultra Class; indeed, the changing of points between Dawn and Nemona after Dawn had won the battle saw Dawn's rank in the current season of the World Coronation Series reach ninety-seven, which put her into the Ultra Class. "Now that Dawn Berlitz has entered the Ultra Class, her opponents will be scheduled," the Rotom Drone went on, "Dawn Berlitz, please keep up with when you have been scheduled for a battle."
After the Rotom Drone was done, Kenny said, "DOOD! Dawn, you just entered the Ultra Class! If you keep it up at this rate, then you'll eventually be able to battle for the right to enter the Master's Eight!"
Dawn looked a bit surprised. "...Yeah, that is nice," Dawn remarked. Although she was happy to have made it into the Ultra Rank, there's no denying that, Dawn was actually more happy to have seen new Pokémon species that she wasn't previously familiar with. The reborn trainers asked Nemona and Iris if they'd like to come with them to the local Pokémon Center so everyone can get their Pokémon looked at.
Over at the local Pokémon Center, as everyone's Pokémon was being looked at, Nemona said, "So you were excited for the battle with me, huh? Eager to try and break into the Ultra Class and battle on a whole new level?"
"Actually, I was hoping that you'd use some species of Pokémon from Paldea that my friends and I weren't familiar with," Dawn said, "We know so little about Paldea and its native species of Pokémon."
"So seeing Orthworm and Dudunsparce was a real treat," Trip added.
"To be honest, I never saw an Infernape in real life," Nemona said, "I've only ever seen one on TV once. And that Latios thing, that's pretty cool too. Oh!" Tapping her fist into her hand, Nemona said, "My classmate Rimu and his girlfriend Penny are in Alola right now. Rimu when I asked him said that he was wanting to look into battling people with Alolan regional variant species of Pokémon. They're expected to be there for at least a week, and I called Rimu earlier this morning."
Standing up firmly, Kenny said, "We shall go to Alola and see Rimu! He and I had a battle in the Normal Class, and now that we're both in the Great Class we have to have a rematch!"
Arching a wry eyebrow, Trip said, "Kenny, keep in mind that Dawn is in the Ultra class now, so she has to keep up with going to pre-determined locations for her ba-"
Trip was interrupted when Dawn's phone went off. She took it out and checked it. "...My first battle in the Ultra Class has been decided," Dawn remarked, "And wouldn't you know it, my opponent is Guzma the boss of Team Skull and we're having our battle in Alola, in a stadium on Melemele Island."
"Ya boi Guzma is in the World Coronation Series?" Trip asked.
Shrugging, Kenny replies, "Who cares? We have the perfect excuse to go back to Alola anyway! I can have my Great Class battle against Rimu!"
Smirking in amusement, Nemona remarked, "I hope that you guys have fun. Ooh, all of the potential battles to be had in Alola! Just thinking about it has me all excited!" The reborn trainers got a lot more what they expected out of their adventure to Unova; they saw new species of Paldean Pokémon, Dawn went up to the Ultra Class, her first Ultra Class battle is against ya boi Guzma, and Rimu is confirmed to be in Alola meaning he and Kenny can have their Great Class battle. Things were about to get rather interesting in the region where Ash reigns as Champion.
...But the reborn trainers had no idea how interesting it was going to be.
END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-THREE
Author's notes;
This chapter focuses on raising Dawn's ranking enough to bump her into the Ultra Class, with many Great Class battles skipped over. The reborn trainers also meet Iris again and see she's working on getting Unovan to play nice, but it's touch and go there. They also meet Nemona, the rival from the Scarlet and Violet games for the Victory Road path. After discussing a bit where she reported Pyramid King Brandon because he couldn't help but indulge in his habit of dishing out 'reason you suck speeches' to people he beats (seriously, I REALLY hate that part about Brandon), Nemona has a battle with Dawn, using Orthworm and Dudunsparce against Infernape and Latios. This sees Dawn's rank rise into the Ultra Class.
The next chapter will cover some shenanigans in the Alola region, which hasn't been touched in a while; all of the heroes from the Alola saga of this story are still in Alola, aside from Ash and the reborn trainers. As such, Dawn and the others will get to meet some new friends. But there will be a good bit of excitement in Alola, so it'd be a good idea to stay tuned. More is on the way. The shenanigans will continue into the next chapter, so until then take care.
