"Well, it looks like our children are going to be very close in age," Brooke said happily.

"That's the way we prefer it, sis," Harper said and Brooke nodded in agreement.

"Yes, it is," Brooke agreed. "I was always so envious of you and Aaron having children, but now, I'm able to have some myself."

"Which has made you happier," Aaron said knowingly, "finally finding your mate."

"I'm no longer lonely or jealous of you and my sister," Brooke said.

"Or envious," Harper said understandingly. "I would've felt the same if Aaron and I hadn't met the day after my 30th birthday, if you had met Jeremy first."

"We were both just lucky," Aaron said, as he kissed Harper tenderly. "It doesn't usually happen like that though, which is why I said we were lucky or at least you were, so meeting your mate so young doesn't happen often."

"Yeah, I know," Brooke agreed smiling a little sadly. "You and dad were lucky, as dad always had Aunt Emily, from the time he was born. The two of them grew up together, so dad never had a chance to be super lonely, which didn't mean he didn't want to find his other two mates."

"Of course not," Harper said. "Still, you're right, dad was lucky, that he always had Aunt Emily."

"Yes, Ilithyia, certainly favors Dave, but then, he's a good person and I would think the goddess would favor someone like him, someone that is kind, generous, understanding and gentle when required," Spencer said. "In the oldest literature she is often seen as more compassionate than most of the other gods and goddess, and I always thought it was because she's also the goddess of childbirth."

The other three modded knowing this, but let Spencer talk, as he loved to display his knowledge, something many people didn't appreciate just thinking that he was spouting off when he really wasn't.

"Ilithyia would definitely favor someone like dad, who has all these qualities Spencer described and many more, though he is certainly no softy when needed," Brooke said.

"No, he can be ferocious when required," Harper agreed immediately.

"Most immortals can when something threatens those they love," Aaron said. "I can certainly be ferocious if necessary. Nobody is going to threaten my family and get away with it and it's not like the goddess expects us to sit back and do nothing when our family is threatened."

"A pacifist she may be most of the time, but she isn't going to prevent us from going after those that would harm someone that an immortal loves, especially their mate or their child," Brooke added.

"I wouldn't call her pacifist, just someone who wants all her children to get along. If she was truly a pacifist well, she would at the very least strongly disapprove of any immortal protecting those they loved," Spencer disagreed.

"Spencer is right," Harper told her sister.

"I suppose so," Brooke said finally. "I can't wait for this little one to get here."

"I can't blame you," Aaron said. "I know all of us are looking forward to it."

"This will be our first children in over 70 years, so of course we are looking forward to it," Spencer said. "Our children will only be a few months apart, which I know is the way that you and your sister prefer it."

"Well, we are twins and close," Brooke said, as if that explained everything and in fact it did. Since Harper and Brooke had met their mates around the same time it made sense that they'd want to get pregnant close together.

"It's not very surprising considering," Harper added.

"With an immortal usually only able to have one child, well, I'm not surprised that since they are twins they'd want to get pregnant close together," Aaron gave his opinion, "especially since they met their mates around the same time. It's got to be a pretty rare event considering immortals just don't have twins without the goddess's favor."

"Except for those rare ones that have more than one mate," Spencer said.

"Something that doesn't happen but once every few centuries," Brooke said. "It's already happened twice in our family, but it'll probably never happen again."

"It might, but probably not for a long time, if it ever does," Aaron disagreed. "Your family has the goddess's favor, so I can't see her not granting the favor again so long as your family continues to impress her."

"There's no way of really knowing, but you might be right," Spencer told Aaron. "Harper after all, always has twins with you and it's possible she'll have them with me as well."

"Which means that Aaron also at least has a little of the goddess's favor, but then he's a great deal like dad, so that's not surprising," Harper said.

Aaron said nothing, but knew better than disagree. Besides, Harper was right, he saw a lot of his personality traits in his mate's father David Rossi.

Suddenly Jeremy came into the kitchen, as he had been out in town picking up a present for Brooke. He and Brooke had just learned that they were having a boy from Graciela, which had led to extreme excitement and happiness. Thanks to numerous investments Jeremy was extremely wealthy, just like every Immortal that had any sense at all. Of course, he had been helped with his investments by Aaron and also his brother and he was grateful. He had been doing more than decently for himself thanks to the Moonlight Bookshop he had started, but still, an immortal needed to always look for investments, since they lived forever barring a deadly accident or murder. Aaron, Spencer and Brooke had helped him set up numerous accounts in discrete institutions just like all Immortals had. Even if he only spent just enough to support his family it was still nice to have just in case.

"Thank you honey, it's lovely," Brooke said having opened the box that Jeremy handed her, from Tiffany's, which was still in existence, even centuries after it had been started. This was good, as they were still the best jewelry store in this part of the world.

Inside the jewelry box was a lovely necklace, with a teardrop diamond hanging in the middle of a thick gold chain.

"I bought a thick gold chain instead of a thin one, because it'll be harder to break if somebody tries to grab it in order to steal it," Jeremy explained. "Thin gold chains are too easy to break in my opinion. Even if they just catch on something on accident they could still break."

"He's right they are," Aaron agreed. "All someone has to do is grab it and yank and it'll likely snap, hurting whoever's wearing it in the process. Of course, if you're immortal then any damage heals up immediately, but mortals aren't so lucky."

"Snapping the chain won't kill them, but still, it will hurt," Harper said.

"I'll have it insured of course," Jeremy said. "That's the responsible thing to do."

"Yes, it is. Every piece of jewelry Harper owns has been insured, since all of it is quite valuable," Spencer agreed.

All of them at admired Jeremy's choice for a gift for Brooke, as it was magnificent and showed exquisite taste.

Months later

"Welcome to the world, my sons," Harper greeted her twins tiredly. Graciela had done a magnificent job as usual. "Thank you Graciela," Harper told the woman who was doing several things in the room.

"You're quite welcome, Harper," Graciela said turning in her direction smiling. "You know I enjoy my profession with breaks every few decades."

"Yeah, I know I enjoy changing backgrounds just like my mother, though I only do it for the family, not for some strange immortal that might get ideas about kidnapping me for my talents," Harper said. Harper's tone was disdainful, as the very idea deeply offended her and it should. "Still, the family is large enough that mom needed the help and I don't really mind. It relieves the pressure on her for one thing, which dad definitely appreciates."

"Why don't you take a nap you deserve it. I'll take these two cuties out to their fathers and the rest of the family."

"Thanks," Harper said closing her eyes after she handed her sons off to the kind doctor.

"Oh, I forgot to ask what their names were, so I can fill out the birth certificates," Graciela muttered once both babies were in her arms. "Well, I can find out later."

Harper was fast asleep.

She knew that this would not be the last time that she came to help Harper give birth, because she could get pregnant a second time, thanks to having a second mate. Graciela thought that this was only fair considering a male could get all his female mates pregnant if he had more than one.

Graciela gently transported the two boys out to where the family was waiting and handed one Spencer and the other to Aaron. "Here you go boys you have two beautiful healthy sons."

"So any idea which one of us they belong to?" Spencer asked, as he held one of the twins.

"They could even belong to both of us, as that's happened once before," Aaron said, as he held the other baby.

"Yes, they could, but I'll do some DNA testing and let you know," Graciela said. "For now they can wear a bracelet one in green and the other in blue, since neither one really has any fluff on their heads at the moment to tell what color the hair is going to be. Not having any fuzz on the top of their heads is not unusual really. It will grow in starting in a few days."

"Well, if they have all black hair then they are mine," Aaron said, "But if it's either brown to blonde it could be either Spencer or myself."

"That's true, because your mother is blonde, right Aaron?" Dave asked his son-in-law.

"Yes and you know that, because you've met my mother a time or two," Aaron told Dave.

"Well, Harper's mother is also blonde," Dave said.

"And so is mine, so I see what you're getting at Dave," Spencer said. "It's quite possible that any with blond haired babies can belong to either one of us, so it's good to get DNA testing done, just so we know who's is whose. It might never matter, but still it's good to know, just in case we need the information someday."

"How's my daughter?" Penelope who had been silent asked Graciela.

"She's fine just tired, as I'm sure you suspect. I told her to sleep, as she needs it after such a long labor," Graciela reported. "I didn't have to do a C-section this time, although I was all prepared if I had to."

"Alright then, we'll wait until she wakes up, before we find out the names of these two cuties," JJ commented, as she held one of Harper's sons, as Aaron had passed the one he had been holding to her.

Spencer finally passed the one he was holding to Penelope who took her grandson gently. "You're right JJ, he's a cutie pie," Penelope told her sister holding her adorable grandson.

"Here let me have a turn," Dave said and Penelope reluctantly handed over the baby she was holding to Dave.

"I'll be on my way and that all of you know how to contact me when Harper is pregnant again," Graciela said.

"Thank you Graciela, my family owes you so much," Dave said looking up at his old friend.

"You don't owe me anything, David. I went into this profession to help people and I'd much rather bring babies into the world then have gone into some other type of profession. I get great satisfaction at delivering babies for mortals and Immortals alike."

"So long as you have a profession you enjoy then you don't mind working at it," Emily said speaking for the first time. "I've never found anything that I would enjoy doing for centuries. I've had jobs over the years, but none of them lasted more than a few years."

"Yes, I'm very lucky, to have a profession I enjoy and we all know it's not necessarily about the money, but the feeling of being useful and the satisfaction of a job well done. I could quit being a doctor right now and have enough money for the next 1000 years, but I enjoy it to much to do that," Graciela agreed, as she kissed Dave's cheek and then headed for the front door. "I'll see you sometime David, everyone."

"Goodbye Graciela," Dave called, as she disappeared out the front door.

"Goodbye, David, you know how to contact me if needed," Graciela's voice came floating back.

"Well, we had better put these two down in the cribs that have been prepared for them," Dave said, giving his grandson a gentle kiss on the forehead. The little boy yawned, opened cloudy blue eyes and promptly went back to sleep in his grandfather's arms.

"I suppose," Penelope said reluctantly.

"You'll have plenty of time with your three grandchildren, once they wake up from their nap," Spencer told Penelope.

"I know," Penelope said. "Still, I love children, but then so does most everyone in the family and since I'm never going to have anymore of my own..."

"Believe me, we understand where you are coming from," Aaron said. "Spencer and I along with Harper may make that decision someday, but not anytime soon, because I'm sure Spencer wants plenty of children of his own."

"When you can only have them every 70 to 75 years, that does make a difference," JJ said. "Between the four of us we had far more children than other immortals do, so it was definitely time to stop having them."

"I miss having children in the house, but since we had over 200, it was just time for me to have myself fixed," Dave said. "All the ladies at the time agreed."

"You could always adopt like Harper and I have done a few times," Aaron suggested. "It's not forbidden by the goddess after all."

"That's not a bad suggestion," Emily who had been mostly silent said. "We might want to consider doing that sometime in the near future."

"It's certainly a possibility," Dave agreed gravely. "How would we explain all you ladies unability to have children though? Almost any woman can have children nowadays, unless it's something really serious, like having to have your womb removed, because it was the only way to save your life."

"Well, I don't know why we can't tell whoever asked that I had to have an operation, because I was attacked and gravely injured," Emily suggested. "We don't have to show our medical records to prove it after all. Besides, maybe we want to adopt, because we love children and even if we might have some of our own eventually."

"So long as there is a logical explanation, they'll look on you favorably, so long as they're not against multiple marriages, since some people are. I mean you have everything going for you, you're wealthy, you have a nice big, house with plenty of room, and you can certainly afford to clothe, feed and educate them. That's what those kind of people look for. You could take in a dozen orphans quite easily if you cared too."

"That's a good point," Dave admitted. "We'll have to do that then."

"Harper and I have certainly done it a few times," Aaron said smiling, as he remembered. "Not in a long time of course, but we've certainly done it in the past. It was long before we met Spencer though."

"I'm sure we'll do it in the future too," Spencer spoke up.

"That's likely," Aaron decided.
