I decided to walk around the block; I was going stir-crazy in this house. I sent Jeremy a text and left Gran a note on the fridge.
I managed to wander around the block a couple of times before I fell.
Of course, the second I realized I had fallen flat on my butt. It was a bit chilly, and thanks to that, no one saw me fall.
'What happened?' asked a high voice; it sounded like a girl's voice. 'Are you ok?'
'Yeah, I'm fine.'
I looked at her and was taken aback by her fierce looks; she was about Elena's height, with long, luminous orange hair that looked like it was a blaze.
She possessed a seductive, feline beauty that drastically contrasted her voice, which sounded like blonde curls and pink bubble gum.
She looked witchy.
'You're Isabella Swan, right?'
I nodded, overwhelmed by her looks.
'Who are you?'
'Victoria Sage.' Her green eyes watched me like a cat watches a mouse. 'I like Tori.'
'I like Bella.'
She helped me up, picking me up like I was made of paper. She took a deep breath and turned away.
'My father is waiting for me.'
'Ok.'
She sprinted away, her hair looking like flames in the breeze; she was gone as quickly as she appeared.
'Watch out for that girl.' a toneless voice whirred behind me.
I flinched and stumbled over my feet and virtually fell, but a strong pair of hands seized me by my shoulders.
'Isabella, do you hear me?'
'Bella.' I sizzled instinctively.
I turned to see a woman my height, with hair the same color as mine and eyes green as oak leaves in the summer.
She was dressed in black.
'Isobel.'
We stared at one another for a while before her face changed, confirming that she was a vampire.
'You're a vampire.'
'So is that girl.' she said, letting go of me. 'She's a vampire.'
I looked in the direction Tori ran.
Another one, I thought.
I heard movement behind me; I veered around and took hold of her. 'Wait, don't go-'
She flinched at my impulsive sentiment. 'I can't be around you; I'll kill you.'
'But I have to talk to you.'
'I don't have the-'
'What happened to your child?'
I didn't mean to blurt it out like that, but it had the desired outcome because she stopped.
'My grandmother told me that you had a child before.'
'I'm going to meet her now.'
'Maybe I could tag along-'
'Go home, Isabella.'
'I can give you my cell. I have a lot of questions about you and Beau.'
'No.'
'Please? Ever since my parent's death, I have felt disconnected from my life,' I rambled on, 'Maybe if I piece together Beau's life here, I can reconnect with myself!'
'You're just like him.'
Her voice was mournful and full of regret.
'She's missing?' Alaric said.
I told him and Stefan we were sitting on my veranda; Jeremy was in his room, and Jenna was in the kitchen.
I don't know where John was.
'Do you think Isobel grabbed her?' asked Stefan as he looked at Bella's house.
'Why would take Isobel take her?'
'Maybe she was thirsty.'
''What?'
'Bella's scent is very intoxicating.' Stefan's face changed, and Alaric shifted uncomfortably. 'I'm alright.' his voice sounded low, like a growl.
'Are you okay?'
'I need to feed. It'd be easier to locate her if I'm full.'
'Did you get inside?' Alaric turned to me.
'That grandmother wouldn't let me.'
'You said Jeremy confronted you about Vicky,' Stefan growled, 'and Isobel did kidnap him; he's involved. You could just ask him; you might be able to regain some of his trust.'
'I agree.'
'No.' I cried. 'I don't want him involved.'
'You don't want who involved?' Damon's voice called as he walked up.
'Bella's missing.' I told him.
'Do you think Isobel took her?'
'We don't don't know.'
'Maybe John knows.'
'I don't want to talk to him.'
The three of them sighed as I turned to Bella's house.
I would discover what that little bug-eyed little twit knew and would not be dissuaded.
Not by her grandmother.
Not by Stefan.
Not by Damon, Alaric, or anyone else!
