Good evening,

I'll post again in one week.

I hope you enjoy the next AU that does have multiple parts.

Oxford Not Brogues

Ghosts from the Past

Part One

Seras, a two month old vampire, was walking down a corridor of the Hellsing manor. A previous conversation she had with her master kept going through her head, gnawing at her. He claimed that she could open her "third eye" to have a better view of the world around her. It could help her see further, detect small things and details a human wouldn't be able to see, see through illusions (whatever that meant), and even detect auras among other things. Seras found several things wrong with what Alucard explained to her. First thing, what was all this nonsense about third eyes? Wasn't that a spiritual thing? Did he expect her to open her chakras as well? The Police Girl didn't believe in third eyes or chakras, and admittedly it shocked her that Alucard believed in such things.

Secondly, what illusions? Did he mean when a person was on acid or had choked down some shrooms? Those kinds of illusions? Or was he talking about magicians, that type of illusionists? Seras liked magic, but she hardly believed in that either. What could he possibly mean that her third eye could help her break through an illusion and see the real thing? The Draculina shook her head. Thirdly, what was her master talking about that she could see auras among other things? What other things? What else could she possibly be able to see because of this supposed third eye she had? What had he told her to do in order to open her third eye? Imagine an eye in the middle of her forehead?

"How bizarre," She mumbled as she subconsciously rubbed the middle of her forehead. "I can't believe I'm going to try this. I hope he's not screwing with me." Seras stopped in the middle of the corridor. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and emptied her mind. "Focus," She whispered. "Imagine having a weird third eye." Something then occurred to her. Her brows furrowed together and she frowned. "How will I know that it worked?" The girl paused for a moment. "I guess…I'll…see further down…the hallway? How exciting," She muttered sarcastically under her breath. Seras then huffed in frustration. "What am I doing?" Giving up, Seras opened her eyes but was immediately startled by someone. The little vampire jumped and clutched her chest where her heart raced.

"Jesus!" She exclaimed when seeing a woman standing not too far from her. The woman didn't even appear to take notice of Seras. She was too preoccupied staring out the window. The strange and unfamiliar woman was slightly taller than Seras. She had long hazelnut colored hair and wore a simple blouse and skirt. Her arms were crossed over her chest as her dull blue eyes took in the scenery. "I'm sorry for…shouting and…taking the Lord's name in vain. You scared me. I thought I was all alone." The Draculina then blushed while she nervously rubbed the back of her head. "It's kind of embarrassing, really. Sorry that I was talking to myself." The woman didn't bother looking her way or even speak a word. She proceeded to stare out the window. Seras frowned at the cold shoulder she was receiving.

"I'm sorry. Did I do or say something that…offended you?" When the woman still didn't respond or look her way, Seras considered that perhaps she was deaf. "Ma'am? The Draculina spoke as she took several steps forward and reached out a hand, intending to tap on her shoulder to grab her attention. However, when she lifted her arm she noticed something odd. From the corner of her eye, she saw something black on her yellow uniform. "Hmn?" Seras hummed as she glanced down to see what it was. To her horror, an inky black tendril was wrapped around her upper arm. The Draculina's eyes widened before she started panicking. "What the hell?!" Raising her other hand, she swatted at the tendril, but her hand went right through it. "See through illusions my ass!" Seras shrieked as she acted like a mad woman and continued to swat at it. But it just wouldn't go away. It was only curling further down her arm. "What is this?!" She attempted to grab at it, but again, her hand just went right through it.

"Ma'am! Ma'am, do you see this?!" The Draculina asked as she spun to face the woman. Seras caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window. She froze in fear and her eyes widened further. The tendril was not the only thing that had a tight hold of her. Behind her, clutching her as if it was hugging her, was a black fiery creature with frightening red eyes. She couldn't make out much of the creature's features; it was just arms, a head, and a torso. The rest of its body swarmed around her in raging black flames. More thick, black tendrils wrapped around her other arm and both of her legs. "What is this?" Seras whispered as she took it all in. It was truly a horrifying sight, but…she felt nothing but warmth and comfort. "What is this?" She repeated and brushed away the tears that formed in her eyes.

"Am I going insane?" The Draculina glanced at the woman, wondering when she was going to say something or at least walk away out of frustration and annoyance. But when looking over at the woman, Seras noticed something else. The woman had no reflection. Unable to believe what she was seeing, the Draculina hesitantly reached out towards the woman. "Excuse me, Ma'am?" Please, don't be crazy! Please, don't be crazy! Seras begged internally. Was she simply imagining all of this? Seras attempted to touch the woman's shoulder, but her hand went straight through her to touch the cold pane of glass. "Oh my god." The little vampire gasped as she stumbled backwards. "Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!" The woman remained completely unfazed by what happened and proceeded to stare out the window. "Master!" Seras exclaimed before she spun on her heel and raced down the corridor. "Master!"

"Police Girl, why are you screeching like a banshee?" A baritone voice reached her ears, causing her heart to jolt in her chest. She was unsure if it was due to excitement or fear. When finding her mentors walking down the corridor towards her, her stomach coiled tightly and for a second, she could have sworn she had the case of the butterflies. But Seras pushed all those feelings deep down when her eyes focused on strange transparent auras that surrounded Alucard and Sebastian both. What? That wasn't there before. Where did it come from? The Draculina came to a dead stop in front of them as her eyes took in the strange mist that was formed around them. The mist around her master was mostly black. The colors she could see the most within that thick black mist were: yellow, purple, and brown. Colors that were nearly faded, making it practically impossible to see were: red, green, blue, and grey. While for Sebastian, deep in that black mist, the colors she could see pretty well were: yellow, indigo, and brown. Colors that blended with the black, making it faint were: red, green, blue, and purple.

"I'll ask again. Why are you screeching like a banshee, Police Girl?" Her master asked. But his Draculina's gaze was locked on their auras. Slowly, she raised a hand to point at them, but didn't say anything. "Oh," Alucard purred as realization struck him. A large grin spread across his lips then. "You're finally using your third eye."

"What…" The Draculina trailed off.

"Our auras," Sebastian answered through chuckles. The girl's eyes then flickered up to meet her master's gaze.

"So…I'm not crazy?" She asked, looking a little relieved. "I…I'm just using my third eye?"

"Yes," Alucard answered with a nod.

"Is this why you were panicking?" Sebastian laughed in his hand. Seras jumped when remembering why she had been screaming for her master.

"Oh!" She exclaimed and then pointed behind her. "I saw this strange woman! She just stood there and wouldn't look or speak to me! And when I went to touch her, my hand went right through her! Am I still not crazy? Please tell me that I'm not crazy!" Before either of them could respond, the fledgling latched on to her master's coat sleeve and she started pulling him down the hall. The elder vampire allowed her to pull him along. "Look! She's still there! She's being…creepy! Why did my hand go through her?!"

"Miss. Victoria, that's a spirit." Sebastian informed her as the males inspected the 'strange', silent woman who continued to stare out a window. Seras released her master's arm to turn and look back up at her mentors.

"A spirit?" She repeated. "You mean a…ghost?"

"Yes, Miss. Victoria." The demon snickered in amusement. "That spirit in particular is the late Lady Hellsing. She died in 1980 and has been wandering these halls ever since." Seras perked up before looking back at the woman.

"Are you telling me she's Sir Integra's mother?" The Draculina asked.

"Yes," Sebastian answered with a nod.

"Huh," Seras murmured before she tried getting a better look at the woman's face. "I'm stunned that I didn't see it sooner. Integra looks so much like her. By any chance, do either of you know if Sir Integra's mother was deaf at all?"

"No, she wasn't. Why do you ask?" The demon questioned her as he looked away from the ghost to look back at Seras.

"Well, she's not responding or reacting." The Draculina commented. "Can ghosts not hear us?"

"They can, but Lady Hellsing will not respond to us." Sebastian responded.

"What? Why?" Seras asked as she glanced up at the demon.

"For one thing, it takes a great amount of energy for spirits to talk to those on this side. But even if she wanted to use that energy, she would not speak to us. She despises anything supernatural." Alucard answered this time. "She would much rather stay as still as a statue than even so much as meet your gaze, Police Girl. We repulse her. We are mere filthy creatures in her eyes."

"Okay, so my third eye makes it capable for me to see all those things. I get what you're talking about now, Master. You explained your auras and…the ghost, but what about this?" Seras asked as she held out her arms, showing the tendrils wrapped around her. "What's with the black appendages and the black flames?" The dark haired males glanced down to see what she was talking about. Simultaneously, such large sinister smirks crossed over their faces and they both snickered.

"Right now, you're seeing auras, spirits, and that?" Alucard questioned her as he pointed at the tendrils.

"Yes?" The fledgling muttered with a small nod. There was a clear look of uncertainty and even concern in her eyes. Was she not supposed to be seeing this? Or maybe he thought she wouldn't have spotted it?

"Taking in all of that at once can be very exhausting, for a fledgling that is. It will drain you very fast. Focus on one thing at a time, Draculina." Her master advised. With ease, Seras obeyed. The auras disappeared from around her mentors along with the ghost. Instead, the fledgling focused solely on the tendril and flames surrounding her.

"You both can see this?" Seras asked as she held out her arms.

"Of course," Sebastian affirmed with a nod.

"What is it?" She asked. "Why can I only see it when using my third eye?"

"That is rather hard to explain." The demon admitted. "What you have clinging to you is a type of essence produced by a person's emotions and soul."

"Okay?" Seras murmured.

"Typically, it's used to claim a person and ward off others." Sebastian added.

"Are you telling me that someone claimed me?" The Draculina asked. "Who and why?" Those creepy smiles only widened further on their faces. From the looks she was being given, it was clear the fledgling was beyond confused. She looked from one male to the other and back again. "What?" She asked. "What? Why are you both looking at me like…" Slowly, Seras' eyes widened and her face turned a bright shade of red. "Ohhhh," Almost immediately, the bashful Draculina dropped her gaze as her face grew darker from a blush. Because of their significant hearing, they heard her heart beat a little faster.

"From how you're reacting physically, I'm assuming that this has thrilled you." Sebastian considered. Seras didn't say a word, but she didn't need to because they got an answer seconds later. For one thing, such a large shy smile spread across her face. Not long after that, unexpectedly, a reddish-black tendril crept over Sebastian's shoulder while a tendril wrapped slowly around Alucard's arm. Pleased, the males watched silently as these tendrils clung to them, claiming them. Looking back at Seras, who was completely oblivious to what she had just done, the demon snickered. "I'll take that as a yes."

"Take what as a yes?" The Draculina whispered, once more looking a little confused.

"Look at us, Draculina." Alucard demanded. Nervously, the little vampire pulled back her head to look at her mentors. The second she saw the tendrils wrapped around them, her eyes practically bulged out of her head and her hands swung up to cover half of her face.

"Did I do that?!" She asked. "How?!" The dark haired males laughed openly at her.

"As I said before, an essence is created through emotions. It appears some part of you is aware of what it wants." The demon purred.

"Wa-wants?" Seras squeaked. Her face was now the same shade as her master's coat.

"Do I detect fear in your eyes, Police Girl?" Alucard cackled, seemingly amused by this little fact.

"Oh, I don't think it's that type of fear, Alucard. No, she is very much finding enjoyment out of this but is terribly bashful." The demon responded. "Don't worry, Miss. Victoria. We'll go at a pace that is comfortable for you." Pace?! They overheard Seras' panicked thoughts. Did he mean that in a sexual way or did he mean this sudden and unusual relationship? "The relationship, Miss. Victoria." Sebastian answered through laughs. "Though, if you want it to be in the sexual way, it can be." He then flashed her a provocative look. The girl once more lowered her gaze as she anxiously wrung her hands. There was a hint of a smile, but it looked like she was trying to hide it by keeping her head down.

"What are you thinking, Police Girl?" Alucard asked. The smile grew on her face. Those lovely eyes of hers were sparkling, making her look all the more enchanting.

"Well," She whispered. "I'm thinking about two things. The first thing is, are you both serious about this or are you teasing me?"

"You think we would be so cruel as to tease you about this? Why?" Sebastian asked. "What would we gain from that?"

"A good laugh," Seras answered with a shrug. The smile faltered slightly on her face as some disappointment appeared in her eyes. The thought brought back a somewhat painful memory of when she lived in the Orphanage. She had a huge crush on a boy. Somehow kids found out and the news spread like a wildfire. Seras had been so embarrassed that she wanted to die. But then, her crush approached her and admitted he had feelings for her. That eleven year old girl, that girl from so long ago in her life, had been thrilled. Her crush pretended to lean in to kiss her, but just before their lips could meet he laughed right in her face. The cruel boy had asked her 'who could ever love a freak like her'. For months, everyone teased and bullied her about it; made fun of her behind her back and pulled pranks on her, especially while she was sleeping. It had been years before Seras developed a crush on another person. Grant it, the feelings she had developed for her mentors were far stronger. It was probably more than just a crush. But remembering what happened to her all those years ago, the Draculina frowned. Could she truly trust anyone with her heart again?

"Forget it," Seras murmured. "Maybe this isn't a good idea." The fledgling didn't notice, but Alucard and Sebastian did when her tendrils around them started releasing them. All amusement left their eyes as their grins fell completely.

"Seras, we're not cruel eleven year old boys." Sebastian immediately tried reassuring her. The little vampire's head perked right up when he said her name for the first time. Hearing him say it made her heart pitter patter fast in her chest and those butterflies in her tummy went crazy. And then it occurred to her what he said.

"Wait, you heard that?" She questioned, looking bothered and embarrassed all over again. "Sebastian, those were private thoughts."

"I'm sorry, but you're so shy that you don't really communicate with us. Peeking into your thoughts is our best chance of knowing what is truly on your mind and what you want." Sebastian responded.

"But it's not a two way street." Seras grumbled in annoyance. "You both can hear my thoughts easy peasy, but it's not like I can hear your guys' thoughts. I don't know what you're thinking or what you want."

"Ask us whatever you would like to ask us. We'll be honest." The demon promised.

"Do you actually like me?" The Draculina asked instantly, not missing a beat.

"Do we like you?" Alucard snickered with a quirked brow. "We're not in primary or secondary school, Seras. This isn't a mere crush." Once more, excitement sparkled in her sapphire eyes, looking pleased that he spoke her name.

"Then what is it, Master?" Seras asked. The No Life King seemed hesitant answering truthfully. He stood there with a crooked grin on his face while his eyes took her all in from head to toe.

"We're…smitten with our mate." The elder vampire answered after a moment.

"Smitten?" Seras repeated with an arched brow. "In what sense of the word?" Alucard and Sebastian both chuckled when something he said went right over her head. "Are you infatuated with me because that's typically known as a crush? Or are you craving me in a sexual way? Or are the feelings stronger? Are you enamored…Wait," The girl's eyes widened with realization then. "Did you just…refer to me as your mate?"

"Indeed I did," Alucard purred as that grin widened on his face. Her cheeks reddened again.

"So…uh…do you mean that…in a friendly way, like I'm your best mate? Or…do you mean that…in the…other way?" Seras asked nervously. She then bit her bottom lip gently as she waited anxiously for a response.

"Out of curiosity, what do you think is the other way?" Sebastian asked. The bashful girl lowered her gaze to stare at their shoes.

"What animals do," Seras muttered so lowly under her breath that they almost missed what she said. Hearing her response caused both males to laugh. Her cheeks darkened in embarrassment. "They mate. Some…mate for life."

"You would be correct, my dear." Alucard chuckled. "I mean it in the animalistic way. Supernatural beings find their intended and mate for life. You are our intended." The red in her cheeks spread to the rest of her face. That bashful smile on her face grew so big on her face that she ended up hiding it behind her hand.

"So…is that based around…feelings or just instincts?" The fledgling asked.

"Instinctively, we know that you're our mate. But over the last two months, we have developed strong feelings for you." Sebastian answered. "And before you ask, yes, I do mean…romantical feelings."

"I know you're afraid to get your heart broken and you may feel that you want to act cautiously around us, but you should not fear that we would ever hurt you. The essence that's around you, that tells others that you have been claimed, that is extremely personal among our kind. You wouldn't find that around an average lover or fledgling or anyone. That essence can only be found around a mate." Alucard further explained to her to help ease her mind. The dark haired males were pleased when Seras' tendrils started forming around them again. "We are yours." The No Life King nodded his head, hoping to encourage her. "Take pride in that, Seras. Claim us and ward away others." Those tendrils wrapped around their arms and legs, comforting them that Seras finally knew the truth and welcomed their feelings.

"You said that there were two things you were thinking about. The first being if you wondered if our feelings were sincere. What was the second?" Sebastian asked.

"Oh, um…" The timid fledgling murmured as she wrung her hands again. She still stared at their feet, too afraid to meet their gazes. But that large, shy smile stayed on her gorgeous pink lips. "The second thing I was thinking about was…how I've never been kissed." Hesitantly, Seras lifted her gaze to look up at them. To their bewilderment, she gave them an incredibly suggestive look.

"Oh?" The demon responded as his blood red eyes twinkled with amusement and mirth. Taking a step forward, Alucard pinched his Draculina's chin between his thumb and forefinger.

"You've never been kissed?" Her master whispered as he teased her by slowly leaning his head down closer towards hers.

"Never," Seras breathed as her heart raced in her chest. His lips were inches from hers. His warm breath wafted over her flesh, giving her goosebumps. He stared deep into her eyes, looking like he was in a trance of his own. He wanted to give his mate a spectacular, toe curling first kiss, but something was stopping him. A feeling that nagged at him. Something was wrong. Instinctively, Alucard glanced over his mate's head to see the problem. There he stood, watching them like hawks; studying his mate as if she was one of his other infamous experiments. Seeing him standing there, looming, filled Alucard with rage. He glowered in the man's direction, warning him silently to back off and leave their mate alone. Noticing the change in her master's demeanor, Seras looked over her shoulder to see what he was looking at.

"What?" She asked and then spotted a strange man further down the corridor. He was the same height as Alucard. He had dark brown hair and intense blue eyes filled with anger, hate, and a faint curiosity. He wore a familiar long red coat and a black suit with a black tie. Seras knew instantly that she was seeing another spirit. "Master, who is that?"

"Professor Abraham Van Helsing," Alucard answered.

"Ever since you were brought to the Organization, he's been following you around, studying you." Sebastian added as he glared at the intrusive male as well.

"Following me? Why?" Seras asked. She felt at unease the way the Professor stared at them.

"Because you're the first person I've turned into a vampire in over a century." Her master replied. "He's interested and repulsed. Knowing him, he's probably furious with my master for letting me keep you. If it was up to him, he would have driven a stake through your heart the first night." The elder vampire then sighed. "But it's not up to him. So, instead he's studying you. Seeing how a fledgling acts and what they're capable of."

"Not to mention you're our mate, which makes you more interesting to him." Sebastian muttered with a deep frown.

"I'm sorry, my dear, but I don't want him present when we have our first kiss. I don't want him spoiling it." Alucard apologized to his bride. Looking back at her, he frowned in sympathy. He knew how badly she had been looking forward to that first kiss. He hated disappointing her. However, the fledgling was still very much focused on the Professor. "Seras, don't let him bother you. He can't hurt you, like he did us."

"What…What did he do to you guys?" Seras asked in a whisper.

"Experimented on us. Tortured us." Sebastian answered softly. The Draculina gasped before she swung her head around to look at her mentors.

"Tortured?" She whispered. The look of absolute horror shone so clear in her wavering eyes. "Tortured?" Tears formed in her eyes as she slowly looked back at the Professor. It wasn't long before they noticed she was trembling.

"Seras," Alucard whispered and placed a hand on her shoulder. "He can't hurt you. I promise."

"But he already hurt the both of you." Seras responded, the words flowing out of her mouth like venom. And then they saw her fingers curl into a tight fist. It wasn't fear. It was rage! The males realized simultaneously.

"Seras," Sebastian spoke before he elegantly moved to stand in front of her, blocking her line of sight with the ghost. He saw it clear as day, the absolute fury was bubbling in her sinister red eyes. The demon cupped her face in hope to soothe her. "It's alright, darling. Alucard and I are fine, and he's dead. He can't hurt us anymore." Seras peeked around the demon to give the Professor another withering glare.

"Yeah, you're fine now. But how long did you experiment and torture them, like a Nazi!" Seras hollered at the ghost. "I distinctly remember they did the same fucking thing to unwilling subjects at their little camps!" Infuriated by the fledgling's outburst, the Professor walked down the corridor towards them.

"Seras, you can't get into a fist fight with a spirit." Alucard reminded her as he temporarily held her back in case she tried such a thing. He couldn't deny that he was amused by the thought of that. And it was quite pleasing to him knowing how protective his mate was of them. "You will lose and it will only make you look foolish. Trust me." He chuckled. When the Professor was within arms reach, Alucard felt it as she tried lunging for the ghost, but he had a firm grip on her shoulders. The demon assisted by grasping the girl's hips to keep her locked in place.

"Rot in hell, you old bastard!" Seras snarled as she pointed threateningly at the ghost who gave her such a foul look. She tried hard to break free. It made them wonder what on earth she would do if they did let her go. Did she really plan to fight a ghost?

"Well, this is a whole new side of you we haven't seen before." Sebastian snickered, sounding pleased as he smirked down at her. "You're a little hellion. I like it." The smirk on his lips widened while arousal glistened in his hellish gaze. Seras didn't dare break eye contact with the Professor. The girl was practically seething, looking similar to a deranged kitten that was ready to fight for her very life.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE, YOU FUCKING BELLEND!" Seras snarled at the vampire hunter. The Draculina gritted her teeth, making the males aware that her fangs had lengthened sometime during her rage. "LEAVE THEM AND ME THE FUCK ALONE! YOU'VE TORTURED AND HAUNTED THEM FOR LONG ENOUGH! FUCK OFF!" The undaunted ghost leaned over the pathetic fledgling, bringing his face close to hers just to further enraged the little psychopath. His dark blue eyes flickered up and down her body, clearly judging her, which fueled her rage.

"I wish I could drive a stake deep into that poisonous heart of yours. It would have brought me such satisfaction." The Professor spoke in his thick Dutch accent. "Then again, running a great number of tests on you, putting you through endless torture, would have been far more satisfying. Unlike my weak descendant, I don't have a soft spot for your kind. I would have broken you and made you obedient by now. Just like how I broke your lovers. I don't know what Integra is thinking, but she has brought such shame and disappointment to the Helsing name. I will never forgive her for what she did to this Organization." The man then stood up straighter, wanting away from the repugnant girl. "And I greatly despise you, you foulmouth, bloodsucking, soulless monster. Whore to Dracula and that shameless cross-dressing demon." Again, Seras attempted to lunge at the ghost, but Alucard and Sebastian held her back with ease. Fortunately for the mentors, the Professor started to walk away. "And it will not be I who will rot in hell. It will be you, you freak of nature." The Draculina released a loud cry of pure anger. She bared her fangs as her eyes burned fiercely in their sockets. For the final time, she tried escaping from their grasp to attack the vampire hunter, but her mates kept her at bay.

"I AM NOT A FREAK!" Seras shouted with tears in her monstrous eyes.

"Seras, it's alright. You shouldn't let such things bother you so easily." Sebastian spoke as he wrapped his arms around her the best he could.

"You have quite the temper, Draculina." Alucard added. "I'm assuming it's a lot of unresolved anger from when you were younger." Seras suddenly froze up in their arms as her eyes went wide. "That night in Cheddar, I tasted it in your blood. Anger, hatred, and pain. Beneath that girlish exterior, there's a darkness inside of you, isn't there, Seras? Just what happened? How did you end up in that Orphanage?"

"Stop," Seras begged him softly. Lightly shaking her head, she proceeded. "I…don't want to think about it. I don't want to dig up those old memories."

"How do you plan to move forward, become stronger, if you are stuck in the past? Your uncontrollable anger can be your downfall. It can make you act recklessly and get you killed." Sebastian lectured her. The fledgling was quite aware of what her anger did to her. It did make her act reckless. Because of her anger, she had been shot, she got into multiple fights, she hardly made any friends, and adults didn't trust her. It could most definitely hurt her in the future. But she also believed her anger gave her strength. It gave her motivation. When angry, she fought harder. It didn't matter how blinded she was by her rage; she fought with everything she had when angry. It was her friend and her worst enemy. "You need closure, Seras."

"Closure," The fledgling whispered as she slowly relaxed in their arms. There were only two things that came to mind for her to achieve that closure. To finally let go of this god awful feeling that has been festering inside of her, burdening her for years. The first, kill the bastards who murdered her parents. She yearned to see those bloody bastards suffer. She didn't condone torture, but she would pay to see those fuckwads tortured slowly. The second thing that would help her reach closure, to say goodbye to her parents. She never had the chance to tell them that she loved them or to even say goodbye. Hell, she even missed the funeral because she was in the hospital from a gunshot wound. Seras' gaze flickered behind her to look at the spirit of Sir Integra's mother. "Master," The Draculina whispered as tears slid down her cheeks. "Can I see all ghosts?"

"That depends," Alucard answered.

"On?" She asked before glancing up at the tall man.

"If the person you want to see is a spirit." The elder vampire responded.

"Typically, only those who have unfinished business, died a gruesome death, or can't comprehend that they're dead become spirits. Some spirits who eventually find peace will move on to heaven. But those who are already in heaven or hell cannot return as a spirit." The demon added while he frowned at her. "Seras, whoever you're looking for, I don't think it's a good idea. It can only bring you more pain."

"No," Seras disagreed. "I think it will help give me closure. I really do, Sebastian. I need this. I need to see them." Before her mentors could try talking her out of it, the fledgling ran off to hunt down her ghosts. The demon sighed heavily in disappointment.

"I'm afraid she'll become obsessed trying to find these spirits. It'll drive her mad and cause her more pain, especially if she can't find them." Sebastian whispered as he watched after her.

"Or it will help her, Michaelis." Alucard corrected him. "Try not to be so cynical."

"You're wrong, Alucard, and you know it." The demon scoffed. "I recall when you became a vampire, the first person you tried finding was your first late wife. You searched for a very long time. Tell me, Dracul, did it bring you closure? Or did it only fuel your rage and cause more pain?"

"Seras' case could be different!" The No Life King snapped. "There's a chance she will find who she's looking for! She will get her closure!"

"A 50/50 chance." Sebastian reminded the fool. "If she's looking for the couple we saw in Cheddar that night, if she knew how upset they were, she would be hurt. That is not closure, Alucard."

"We will never tell her about that night." Alucard corrected him. "But if she talks to them, says goodbye, maybe…"

"If she talks to them, it may only further upset her. I fear what he will say to her." Sebastian interrupted. "I want Seras to have closure. I want her to be happy and to be able to say goodbye. But I'm afraid that nothing good will come out of her talking to them."

"I want her to have closure too, but I think Sebastian is right." A feminine voice reached their ears.

"Don't talk to them." A male grumbled before scoffing when he was ignored. Alucard and Sebastian shifted their heads to find the ghostly couple that had been seen standing over Seras' body in Cheddar. The last time they saw the woman and man, she had been crying and begging them to save their daughter while the man had been screaming at Alucard for shooting his daughter. The vexed man with blonde hair and a neat mustache was only a few inches shorter than them. The woman with long blonde hair had to be at least an inch or two taller than Seras. The woman, who they could only assume was their mate's late mother, gave them a small friendly smile while she held her husband's hand. The fledgling's father completely ignored the dark haired males by glaring at the floor.

"Jonathan and I don't want Seras to see or remember us this way. We want her to just move on with her life and be happy." The mother told them. Again, the father scoffed while shaking his head in disapproval. The woman automatically glanced over her shoulder to frown at him. "Stop it. Your daughter is alive. Why can't you just be happy for her?"

"Morgan," Jonathan sighed before he finally looked at his wife. "I am happy Seras is alive. I'm not happy about what she is and who saved her. I'm not happy that she's a monster that has to live off of blood. I'm not happy that she's damned and going to hell. And I definitely don't like what they want from her in return. It's disgusting."

"But your daughter is happy and loves them." Morgan reminded him.

"She's not thinking straight. She just thinks she's happy because she hasn't felt true happiness in years." The husband explained to his wife, desperate for her to understand.

"She deserves to be happy, Jonathan. Let her be happy." The wife retorted, growing frustrated with this fight they had constantly.

"She does deserve happiness, but she can do better. Honestly, Morgan, one is a demon and the other is a psychopath." Jonathan responded as he gestured at Alucard and Sebastian. "Or are you just choosing to forget that?"

"Whether you believe it or not, we care deeply for Seras. We want her to be happy and we will do whatever it takes to make sure she stays happy." Sebastian interrupted the arguing couple's conversation. Jonathan sighed once more before he went back to glaring at the floor. Morgan glanced back up at the dark haired males and gave them another small smile.

"I'm afraid seeing us will further upset Seras. She will become angry with herself and be full of regret. I'm afraid she will only end up blaming herself." Morgan admitted her fears to them.

"Blame herself?" Alucard questioned with furrowed brows. "Why would she blame herself?"

"Because we're still here and not in heaven." The mother answered and her smile widened the slightest bit. "When we died…we couldn't leave Seras. We're still her parents. We still love and want to watch over her. And I fear that if she does see and speak to us, she will blame herself for us not finding peace. And…I also share the same fear Sebastian has. I'm afraid of what Jonathan will say to her."

"What are you talking about? I wouldn't say anything to her!" Jonathan exclaimed, purely offended by what everyone thought of him.

"Don't pretend like you don't know what we're talking about." His wife responded with a shake of her head. "You even said it yourself only a minute ago. You hate what she is. You hate what Alucard turned her into. I don't doubt that you love your daughter. But I do fear that if you confront her, you will let your anger get the best of you. You and I both know we don't want Seras remembering you in that way." Jonathan ended up frowning as guilt seeped into his eyes. Deep down, he knew his wife was right. He didn't want Seras to see how angry or disgusted or disappointed he was because of what she has become. He was happy she was alive, but he didn't believe the cost of her mortal soul was really worth her turning into a bloodthirsty monster. His poor baby girl.

Morgan then took a deep breath before proceeding. "I know that I'm probably not the reason why you did it, but thank you for saving my daughter. And I hate doing this to you both, but I have one more favor to ask for." The mother spoke as she looked back up at the dark haired males. "Please, protect Seras and make sure she stops trying to find us. We will not show ourselves to her. We want her to believe that we have moved on and are in heaven. We want her to finally be at peace with herself and find closure. Help her find closure."

"I hate having to lie to her, but if you think that's what is best for her, then we will do our best to help her find closure." Sebastian promised with a respectful nod. Morgan gave him a polite smile with a nod.

"Thank you," She whispered. "Even if the relationship doesn't work out, I hope you'll continue to have a happy and healthy friendship with her. I know, either way, it would mean a lot to her. Thank you for making her happy. It's been a long time since we last saw her smile. Thank you." Morgan then pulled lightly on Jonathan's arm to try and lead him away. The husband came to a dead halt before he could pass by the dark haired males. He gave the men a withering glare. Alucard and Sebastian recognized those eyes quite well. Those were Seras' eyes. And they didn't know how it was possible, but it was the same killer look she gave when angry. Like father, like daughter.

"You both better protect and cherish her or I will haunt you and make your lives a living hell for the rest of eternity. I swear to god." Jonathan threatened them. Morgan merely giggled at how protective he was.

"Come on," She laughed and pulled on his arm. The man proceeded to glower at them while he willingly followed after his wife down the corridor.
