Only One
Chapter 6
When it comes to what I saw for my life. I knew I wanted love and to be a father.
When Brooke and I fell in love. I saw it for us a life together.
But marriage wasn't and isn't a step I ever needed.
Marriage the reality of it is benefits expectations and in the end can be over with a matter of signatures.
Brooke is my partner in life love and who without life would no longer make sense.
So why get married so everything can change? Lucas thought to himself. As he headed back to his office.
...
Brooke smiled as she looked over the sketches for her girl clothing line.
When she started it. She saw Dawn as the face of it.
The little girl had her mom's love of fashion. And clothes.
It had grown into so much more than just designs.
Brooke had been approached about getting official representation for Dawn as a child model.
Which she hadn't brought up to Lucas yet because she knew he would reject it.
...
(We aren't officially open yet.) Brooke announced.
As a customer entered anyway. (Then you should flip the sign from open to closed the maybe shut the lights. I missed the latest sale and wanted to come in to get something for my mom.)
(Julian Baker. I already know you.)
(Brooke Davis. Creater of clothes over bros. The myth. Daughter of Victoria and Ted Davis.)
(We were actually at the same parties growing up. High society obligation stuff.)
(All the guys wanted to dance with you.) Julian recalled.
Brooke scanned his face again. She still hadn't recognized him.
But that was no surprise. That time in her life. Pre Lucas was such a blur.
(I'll show you possible outfit choices for you're mom.) Brooke replied.
