Zora's Domain had been a quiet settlement as far as Everett knew. Surrounded by moutains, beautiful waterfalls and nicely mannered people; he'd might consider moving here if he truly never got out trying stop a this "calamity" from destroying the world.

Their world. He thought, he had no place here. He didn't grow up here nor did he originate from Hyrule. He was also having trouble finding a way to explain his true origins. He was lucky with Olas and Boto, and it took some convincing for them to understand.

The sounds of waterfalls graced his ears, the trio had began to walk past the bridge that led to Zora's Domain.

Zora had greeted Link probably more than the Princess. But what surprised him most of all is that they greeted him as well, acknowledging him, shaking his hand and bowing. This was probably the most respectful race in Hyrule.

There a had been a grand stairway leading to presumably the throne room. The trio had made it to the top, at the throne sat a rather-large blue Zora. Obviously he was the head of the tribe, as he wore multiple jewels. This must be King Dorephan. Next to him stood Mipha, the little healer he met back at the castle. She hadn't seen her since him, Link and Zelda had started this journey to the four races.

"I'm not sure how things operate here in Zora's Domain," Zelda blurted out subtly, but loud enough for the two men next her who had indeed heard her words. "I'll do the talking, address then when you are addressed. Link, you know them more then we do. You'll do the convincing for Princess Mipha."

The warriors nodded, before they slowed their walking pace at the platform where the guests would greet the King.

The King wore an wary smile.

"Link? Is that you dear boy?" Dorephan had squinted before he chuckled, and beckoned them to step a bit closer. Everett and Zelda had hesitated in doing so, but Link had seemed comfortable to step further to the Thorne seat where the giant man had sat. "Ha, it is you! It's so great to see you again, I hope you are faring well as hero?"

Link nodded, not saying a word or spilling a sound out. King Dorephan had nodded with an acknowledgment before he had jolted up and swung his gaze at Princess Zelda.

"Forgive me, Princess. For I did not greet you." He had quickly said, apologetically.

"Please, do not apologize. I wholeheartedly understand the relationship the Zora and hero have." She had softly said with a genuine smile on her face.

"No, I insist on my rudeness. It had been such a long time since I've last seen Link! So much, he was tinier than he is now." He boastfully said, before his eyes reached Everett. The old king had a look of curiosity and a small smile on his face. "And you must be the warrior, Sir Everett."

The warrior? Was that his newest nickname instead of the brute? It was a bit refreshing as being called a brute, he felt it was degrading. He was much more than that.

"You know of me?" Everett asked with a raised eyebrow.

The king of the Zora had laughed, throwing his head back with a genuine chuckle and smile. "Many of the Zora had attended the annual strength contest, to see such strength displayed; I would be surprised if you weren't known at all."

"It was nothing." Everett shrugged off.

"Nonsense young man, being able topple the world's strongest Goron and rip a Lynel apart with his bare hands is a feat that should be celebrated!" He said with a cheerful grin, how Everett wished to be this optimistic, he watched King Dorephan's gaze focus back on the Princes. "I am pleased that the three of you could make it to Zora's Domain, I take it you received our letter of the disturbance up at Ploymus Mountain?"

Zelda nodded, stepping forward. "We have, our goal today is to investigate the mountain and the divine beast later on. But if I may ask, what is up there on-top of the mountain?"

"We are not sure, Princess. I have sent several teams for expedition through those mountains, but there has been no reports." King Dorephan admitted, but he wasn't finished apparently as he began to speak once more. "There has been sighting of big footprints, and I had a team go missing a few days ago. I...was in a desperate situation, and Mipha had suggested the three of you."

The trip looked towards Mipha who had been gracefully standing next to her father's throne with a soft, reassuring smile. "I will accompany the three of you, as well as a few soldiers. The families of the troops's my father sent out are very concerned about their safety, and so it is up to us to find them and see to the disturbance up on-top of the mountain."

"We will see to it then," Princess Zelda said firmly with a confident nod, before she looked towards Link. He raised an eyebrow, before he slightly jolted as if he suddenly remembered something.

He moved from his position, stepping forward so that he was now at the same level as Zelda. Everett had lagged behind the two, he didn't have nothing to really say unless he was addressed, so it'd be better if he just kept quiet until spoken too.

Link had looked up towards the King. "The King of Hyrule has a proposition."

Dorephan raised an eyebrow. "What kind of proposition?"

"That Princess Mipha piloted the divine beast in the fight against the calamity."

There was a silence between them, and it looked as if Dorephan had just seen Hylia herself. The trio had stood antsy, waiting for an answer. The King had looked towards Mipha who had a determined look on his face before he looked back towards Link, Zelda and Everett.

"Find the patrol team I sent out up at Ploymus Mountain and figure out what's going on there. Then, I will give you my answer."

Everett sighed. It was never that easy, was it?

The chill in the air on Ploymus Mountain was one that gave him a chill. It was a hassle to travel there, it had taken them until midday when they finally arrived at the vantage point that the King had pointed out to them.

Eerily quiet. And Everett didn't like it.

Mipha had tagged along as well, stating that she couldn't sit back and watch Zora matter be solved by the three who are currently bearing the weight of Hyrule on their shoulders. Everett had looked towards Link, who had caught his stare. He looked to his left, to see Zelda and Mipha exploring the are looking for clues.

Everett had quickly closed the gap between him and the hero, and had now been standing next to him overlooking the view of the land around them.

"Thinking what I'm thinking?" Everett quietly questioned.

Link grunted. "Too quiet?"

"Yeah," Everett replied with a grunt of his own. He took in his surroundings, looking back towards the girls. They had been talking about something, and it seemed to be important because Mipha had a unreadable expression on her face. He had continued to look around, now walking away from Link who had been keeping an eye out for any danger.

Everett had rounded a rock, before he saw an indentation in the ground, a large deep imprint. A foot. A rather very huge foot. He raised an eyebrow, and had walked over to the large print in the grass.

The size of it had been bigger than him, and it made him wonder what on earth could make this big footprint. He thought talus's and lynels had been enough for him, but this was a whole new ball game. The hell kind of place am I in?"

His pointed ears had perked up when he heard a noise, it sounded like a snoring of some kind. He had kept himself ducked, now crouched. He had swiftly made his way further past the rock. He caught sight of...a gigantic monster.

It looked like a bloated bokoblin with one eye, and it had made Everett's jaw dropped to the ground. It had slept with a loud snore, emitting a bubble front it's huge snout. A couple feet away from it, he saw what looked like a metal cage; and in it contained some Zora that had been lying inside, seemingly looking defeated.

He had cursed to himself, before he quickly trotted back over to Link who had perked up at his sudden fast approach.

"I found them," he simply said, and urged Link to follow him. The two silently made their way to the rock, where the footprint had been. He saw the princesses notice them crouching behind the rock, seeing Link signal them over.

Link's eyes widened at the sight before he mentally cursed himself. He had hoped it would be a simple search and rescue, but now they had to deal with a hinox.

"Hinox," Link simply muttered. Everett wanted to question it, but seeing everyone acknowledge the name; he had no choice but to lie, he had turned to Everett to discuss what the plan was. "We can sneak over there without waking the hinox, but they have good hearing so it won't be easy."

"What about us?" The two had turned their focus onto Mipha, who had held the trident tightly with a look of fiery determination. "Don't expect us to just lag around. I'll do anything I can to help."

Link sighed. "Mipha I need you to stay behind and watch the Princess. It'll be a necessity that the healer is well. These guys might need it." Link turned back towards Everett, not facing a very clear look of disappointment and disagreement on Mipha's face. "Ready?"

"As ready as I'll be," he muttered, waiting for Link to take the lead. The two had quickly scurried their way to the caged warriors that had been slumped over, one of them had been flipping a rupee.

They had slowed their pace, now entering the hinox's space and hearing area. Crouching, the hero and Everett were making out pretty good, and it all changed when a crunch had snapped. Everett had stepped on a leaf.

The two exchanged worried glances, before they saw the hinox simply scratch it's belly and continue to sleep soundly on it's back. They continued on.

A Zora warrior had noticed them, before he quietly signaled them over to the cage the four soldiers had been trapped in.

They had crept in close enough to get closer, before they could finally whisper to one another.

"Master Link!" The Zora man had exclaimed quietly, so that the hinox wouldn't wake. Link had glanced back at the monster before he turned his attention back to the man. "It is great to see you, a few more hours and I would've thought we were dinner."

"What happened Zaven?" Link quietly asked, trying to find a way to free them. There hadn't been a keyhole on the lock, and the cage had seemingly been placed firm into the ground.

"King Dorephan had requested we secure the mountain of any threats, but then as we were leaving the hinox had snuck up on us! It had trapped us, before throwing this cage over us." The man Zaven explained, then another Zora had stepped up.

"You gotta get us out of here, we've been here for two days!" The second soldier quietly whispered.

"Calm down," Everett assured. "We'll get you out of here, just don't panic and don't make any noise."

"There's isn't a lock." The third solider butted in. "You'll have to get us out another way."

Everett had quickly signaled for Link to step out of the way, he might have to lift the weighted cage. He had grabbed ahold of the cell bars before he had began to lift it.

It was heavy to say the least, but he felt it slightly lift off the ground with a small creak of the old metal. He moved his hands to a position so he could begin to lift it more of the ground, far enough so that the soldiers to crawl out.

"I almost got it," Everett muttered.

He almost had it lifted enough before he heard a warrior gasp, before Zavern had pointed behind him.

"Watch out!" Everett had reeled his head back, catching glimpse of the now standing gigantic monster that had it's one eye focused on him and Link. He gasped.

Link had quickly unsheathed the master sword, but slipped up and was violently knocked back by the hinox's hand sending him tumbling multiple feet. Everett didn't have the time to drop the heavy cage, before he was scooped up the by the monster's hand; attempting to squeeze him.

Everett had struggled to pry the hinox's fingers from squeezing him, he had quickly reached behind his back and raised the sword downward; lodging it into the side of the hand.

It had roared in pain, throwing Everett away from it. He had been helplessly flung to the ground feeling himself slid against the dirt. He had landed a few feet away from Link, who had still been recovering from the shock of the punch.

"Everett! Link!" Zelda had cried out, she had left the spot where she had been hiding with Mipha.

"Princess, no!" Mipha had failed to catch her, and the stumbling Princess had been running to them. She had dropped near the spot Link was, and had kneeled down next to him. "Are you alright-"

She was cut off by a sudden shake of the ground, Link had looked up to see the hinox running full speed towards the two hylians in the open. Link had quickly stood up, and began to help the Princess up. But the hinox had been upon them, and it had lifted it gigantic foot and brought it down on them. Link had closed his eyes, the Princess should've never left her hiding spot.

But, the impact didn't come. Link had looked up at the levitating foot above him. Right in front of them, Everett had been struggling to hold the monster from crushing them. Both of his hands above his head, resisting it's foot. A look of struggle and determination on his face as he gritted his teeth.

"Go," he growled, before earning a nod from Link who had hastily dragged the Princess over to the spot she was in with Mipha.

Everett felt a burst of strength jolt in him, and he had shoved the monsters foot back with such force it had tumbled over and fell to the ground. It had flopped onto the dirt ground, kicking up and enormous amount of dirt from the force that had pushed it back.

Scooping his sword from the ground, he had felt Link's presence next to him. Who had been glancing at him, master sword in hand.

"Let's not get blinded by monsters anymore." Everett said, stretching his neck to the side to feel a sharp crack!

"Deal." Link said deadpanned, raising the sword up.

The hinox had stood up to it's full height, now staring murderously at the two warriors. They had ran head on towards the monster, who had brought it fists down on them. Both had expertly jumped out the way, Link had hopped up on it's fist; before he ran along it's arm and jumped up. Jamming the sword into it's gigantic eye.

The monster reeled back, screeching in pain as Link had jumped back landing gracefully on the ground. Everett had wrapped his arms around the hinox's ankle, before twisting it hardly, the monster had stumbled in his grasp, before it fell hard to the ground.

Everett had ran along it's foot, and had jumped high raising the sword high and above his head before stabbing it in the head of the hinox repeatedly earning painful screeches and roars.

Link had jumped high onto the hinox's back with such agility Everett's never seen before. Even around here, in whatever world he's in.

Link had viciously slashed at the hinox, at an inhumane speed. Cutting and dicing all around it's back. Multiple slashed and stabs had now been embedded into it's skin, with Link heavily breathing.

It had roared again, before it had begun to get back on it's face. Link had swiftly jumped off, but Everett had grabbed hold of it's horn.

This thing is taller than it looks. He had stabbed the at the top of it's head, making it move around reckless. It had pulled and grabbed at Everett, but would only grasp nothing as Everett would either stab it's hand or dodge the grab.

He felt the hinox shift for he side, now on one knee. He felt it shift again to the other side, now even. Link must've taken out it's legs!

He had jumped from the top of the hinox, landing on the ground next to Link who had scrambled into a stance. It's only eye had opened, showing signs of damage to the giant orb.

It's eye had been red, bleeding into the monster's socket. It had roared angrily, before it went to flame both fists into the ground in an attempt to hit them. The both of them had dodged the oncoming blow, before they both hopped onto it's fist.

Running up it's arm, the two of them had leaped towards it's eye; putting their swords up for impact. They had lodged the master sword and Everett's sword into the hinox's eye before Link had jumped off. Everett had remove his sword before he lodged it into the eye socket of the monster. He had begun to try and push it's eye out do it's head but the muscle had some resistance to it.

He finally felt it begin to tear out of it's eye, and it popped out of the hinox's head and rolled onto the ground. Link had brought his sword down onto the eyeball, cutting it in half.

The hinox had screeched violently, before it's movements begin to slow. It had collapsed to the ground, taking a final snort before it had lie lifelessly on the ground.

Everett had let out a huff, before he had sheathed his sword. Those things didn't look as strong as they were, but it was duly noted. He let another breath out, before he looked over to the still caged warriors who had been cheering ferociously.

He had jogged to where they were at, and had grabbed ahold of the cage. He lifted it effortlessly now, the adrenaline surely helping. Flipping it on it's side, the soldiers had crowded around him with a cheer.

They had let their attention off of him, before they had ran to Link and engulfed him in a groups hug and cheer. He sighed before he walked towards the group who was now free and giving their many thanks to the Princesses.

Zelda had walked past the group, who were now catching Mipha on what had happened and stopped before both Everett and Link. They had been bumped and bruised up but unscathed for the most part.

"Are you two alright?" She had quietly asked, looking over the two warriors cuts and bruises.

Everett cracked his neck again, before he sighed heavily. "Just another day on the job, nothing we couldn't handle."

Link piped up. "Could've gone better."

The Princess sighed. "I am glad to hear that. It had been...quite difficult watching the two of you fight that thing. I wanted to help, maybe distract it while you got the others out of the cage. But Mipha insisted I stay with her."

"Probably for the best," Everett said, which had made Zelda shoot a glare at him. He jolted up, before he opened his mouth. "I mean, the further you are from danger the better."

"I can handle myself, Sir Everett." She said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. Back on that side again, huh?

"Of course, Princess." He said with a nod. "I didn't mean to insist that you couldn't."

Link coughed, breaking the tension. "We should head back to the Domain. Don't want to keep the king waiting."

...

An hour at most is what it took for the entourage to get back to Zora's Domain.

King Dorephan was pleased, in fact he had almost gotten on his knees in thanks towards his daughter and the trio. Insisting that a feast be held for the warriors and citizens of Zora's Domain in celebration of the soldiers homecoming.

It had been quite a feast, and Everett had ate a variety of fish and mean; which he found disturbing as the Zora themselves were fish.

King Dorephan had granted permission for Mipha to pilot the divine beast and aid the kingdom in it's fight against the calamity which had made Zelda exhale the breath she had been holding into since the mountain.

After dinner was over, the group had retired to the inn under Dorephan's throne. With the three of them getting ready for bed, Everett could feel the sore still in his body from the fight earlier.

Mipha had insisted she heal them from any injuries they sustained from the fight with the hinox as gratitude for saving the troops.

He could still the strain in his muscles from being tossed violently to the ground by it, he could hear his shoulder crack slightly as he rolled it.

Everett sighed, before he looked over towards Link who had been preparing to lay down, down to a long sleeve and shorts. Everett himself had been in a sleeve cutoff and long pants. Zelda had wore a simple dress to sleep in, and it had looked like she had asleep fast.

"Everett," He heard Link whisper. Everett had looked towards Link, who had been sitting up. "Are you alright?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

"I don't know, that hinox threw you to the ground pretty hard. I didn't think you'd be getting back up." Link explained. "I wanted to thank you. Had it not been for your quick response, I don't think the Princess would asleep in bed right now."

Everett remembered being knocked out for a split second before he opened his eyes to see the hinox, running to stomp on both Link and Zelda.

"Don't worry about it," Everett said, rolling his head to other side, closing his eyes. "We look out for each other."

"Yeah..." He heard Link mutter before he heard a shift of his bed, must be that time for everyone.

Everett had deeply sighed, relaxing. He didn't realize he was asleep in seconds.

Yoooo! This chapter was a personal favorite of mine to write, especially the hinox fight. It was the first chapter I thought of before I even published the story. Anyway, check out the short story I'm doing called "Love for Tomorrow" about Link and Zelda the night after the events of TOTK! Thank you for reading and see you next chapter!"
