"You, servant Class and Name?"
Atalanta Archer did good work, she sprung the Slave Master and all 8 of her servants out of the slave cells and brought them to the ship. None of the servants but 2 seemed all that strong, though Naruto would guess that they had a few secrets.
"Abigail Williams... Foreigner."
"Your Class is Abigail Williams... I get it, just making a joke. Okay then, next is... I can guess who you are from seeing you. Asterios, no doubt a Berserker... and I know you as well." Naruto looked and saw a elderly man, well build, sitting Japanese style in his holding cell. He had his sword across his lap and put up no resistance at all.
"Naruto?"
"Saber, Yagyu Munenori... the triplets, you go next." Naruto stated to the trio of servants who were nearby Asterios. The one holding a scythe and ready to fight seemed like the only one who would pose any threat, the other two game across as weak enough that even his weakest servant would be able to trash them in a fight. All of them had purple hair and eyes, and the were the ideal woman personified.
Perfect from birth, and wearing similar clothes... except for the warrior of the sisters.
"She's Medusa as a child... meaning those are her sisters, Stheno and Euryale... Assassin and Archer classes." Atalanta stated as she marked them down next to Naruto. They were keeping track of the servants of their captured enemy Master. It helped that it would seem a good portion of this Master's servants were all Greek in origin.
"Nyatalanta."
"... Circe." Atalanta looked towards another beautiful woman, who seemed relaxed in her prison cell. Completely relaxed. "She's a Caster, no other class but Caster fits this woman. Master, do not approach her cell so easily... she's dangerous." Atalanta stated as she grabbed Naruto's shoulder and kept a firm grip on him.
Circe smiled at Naruto.
The last member of the captured servants was a pink haired feminine boy.
"I'm a Rider! Astolfo, member of the 12 Paladins... I won't cause any trouble, I promise, so you can let me out of this cell." Astolfo leaned up against the cell and reached out for Naruto.
He looked like trouble.
He looked like a lot of trouble.
"Once your Master pledges that she will surrender her bid for victory, you can all be put to work on my ship. Until she abandons her desire for winning this war, you all stay locked up in this Anti-Servant Cells." Naruto banged on the bars of the cell with his knuckles. At the back of every storage area, there were cages that could contain a servant. A servant locked behind the cells would be unable to make use of their abilities properly.
No Noble Phantasms, no Magical Enhancements, and Severely Reduced Strength.
Atalanta Archer stared at her twin outside of the cell with a sharp gaze, since once she captured the enslaved servants, she had been told to enter a cell herself. Her Master and the Slave Master were both asleep in Naruto's quarters, so that they could be questioned away from their servants.
"Who is going to keep track of them?" Atalanta asked Naruto.
"Not Shuten, that is for sure. She would let them out for fun, just to cause a riot. Can't be Van Gogh either... she could easily be tricked... so would Ishtar... you will be guarding them." Naruto assigned Atalanta to the task. She was the only one who could be trusted, that didn't also play a critical role on the ship. His pirate duo steered the ship and followed his instructions on sailing, so he needed them on the main deck at all times.
Melusine was his personal guard, she would be sad if she was anything but that. Beni was the cook, she needed to stay in the kitchen, and Tamamo was Tamamo. She was useful all around in whatever he assigned her.
There was Chloe, but he wanted to keep an eye on her a little longer.
He trusted her, but not as much as one of the servants he personally summoned... though he trusted her a lot more than he trusted Shuten. Naruto knew his own nature as a mixed-breed, and because of that fact he knew that Shuten was unreliable unless she had a personal interest in helping him.
"Don't kill our Master."
"I won't kill her, if I wanted her dead, she would be dead. I would rather she give up her ability to win the war, by using up all of her Command Spells surrendering herself as a member of my crew." Naruto was upfront with the servant who spoke that, not that he payed attention to it.
"You will kill her, I don't believe you."
"The rules are simple, gather the 7 grails and place them at the shrine... the rules do not say I have to kill the other servants or masters. I will if I have to... but not if I don't. Melusine-" Naruto said her name.
Melusine RAN all the way down the stairs from the main deck and joined at his hip instantly, she stood prim and proper, but her messy hair showed that she had been listening for him to say her name. She raced as fast as she could without damaging the boat to return to his side.
"Yes?" Melusine waited a command.
Silence.
Naruto opened Circe's cell and grabbed her by the wrist, before he pulled her out of her cell and gave her to Melusine.
"This one has a sneaky look to her eyes, take her to the kitchen and have Beni keep a watch on her. She knows Atalanta too well... she can be put to work in the kitchen... tell Beni to keep a VERY strict eye on her." Naruto saw how Circe had interacted with Atalanta, and he could see the crafty eyes this woman had. Circe seemed to take his words as a compliment, and Naruto started to walk up the stairs.
-In the Captain's Quarters-
"Wow, that must suck."
"Yes... honestly... Naruto?" The Slave Master stated as Naruto entered the room. Naruto looked at her, and his eyes widened for a moment. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before he walked towards the two other masters in his room. "Naruto! You're a Master too!?" The girl, slightly younger than Naruto, shouted in shock.
Naruto ignored her.
Melusine entered the room shortly after him and stood by his side. Naruto sat on his desk and crossed his arms as he looked at the two masters, both awake and on alert. One more so than the other.
"... Use all of your command spells to ensure your servants never attack me or my servants... I want you to use all 24 of your command spells for that purpose. Do that, and swear to not be an obstacle in my way... and you can have freedom on my ship." Naruto stated to the slave master. A young woman he knew very well.
The red marks on her arm were mostly there.
She didn't have 24 strokes of her command spells though like she should have, instead she only had 9 of them remaining. She had already used up 15 of her command spells, and Naruto noticed that after he had demanded she use them all.
"... I don't have 24 anymore... I had to use 15 of them up... healing my servants and strengthening them so we wouldn't die. Naruto, it's me... it's me... Hinata, don't you recognize me?" Hinata stated as she stood up off of Naruto's bed and started to approach him. Naruto raised his hand up and stopped her.
She actually did stop.
"Of course I recognize you, I wouldn't forget the face of my ex... stop." Naruto grabbed Melusine by the top of her head when she looked like she was going to slay Hinata. Hinata didn't even know why Naruto told Melusine to stop, because in her eyes the girl didn't even flinch or do anything. "... but you ARE an enemy master in this war. As long as you have command spells, and as long as you seek to win... you're an enemy. Give up your command spells, and make yourself unable to challenge me... and you won't be an enemy." Naruto laid out the reason why he wasn't being friendly.
He had a wish, and he was going to make it come true.
Naruto looked at the Chaldea master, who was staring between him and Hinata in confusion.
"You guys have 24 command spells?"
Naruto ignored the question.
"... I'm sorry that my father didn't-"
"Stop." Naruto raised his hand up again and stopped Hinata from going into her apologies. "Our past doesn't matter right now, and apologizing because of your father won't change anything. I'm giving you a chance to stop being my enemy."
"Saber, by order of Command Spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Archer, by order of Command Spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Lancer, by order of Command Spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Rider, by Command Spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Caster, by command spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Assassin, by command spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Berserker, by command spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew. Foreigner, by command spell, do not attack Naruto or his crew..." Hinata burned through 8 of her command spells then and there, leaving one remaining. The second Naruto gave her the flat option to no longer be an enemy, she took it without a moment of hesitation.
Hinata stepped forward again.
"Stay back." Melusine stated to Hinata, stepping in front of Naruto like a barrier.
"I don't want to be your enemy... I don't want to die... I don't want any of this. Please, believe me... let me have this last command spell... in case of an emergency... my servants can't attack you. I want you to win." Hinata promised him.
"She's lying."
"Hinata doesn't lie, she never lies... it's one of her good traits. You can keep your last command spell in case of an emergency. If Hinata says she won't try to win the war, then she isn't a threat or even competition." Naruto looked right at Hinata when he said that.
Hinata puffed out her chest.
"I surrender."
"You, Chaldea Master... you have allies in need of rescuing. We're going to the island where you lost contact with your allies next." Naruto looked right at the woman.
She stood up and smiled.
"Thank you, and don't worry, I'm fine with you winning. All I'm here to do is repair this singularity and stop it from becoming a problem... oh... singularities are these things where human history is changed... once..." She stopped talking when Naruto pulled out his knife and started to walk towards her. "My name is Ritsuka... and I'm..." Ritsuka raised her arms up and got ready to defend herself.
Naruto stabbed the wall next to her.
"I don't trust you, so I don't want to hear what you are hear for or what you have to stay. Once you've proved you aren't an enemy, then you can tell me your story... as it stands, you ARE my enemy... but I won't kill you or let my servants kill you unless you become a threat." Naruto didn't consider an enemy to be the same thing as a threat.
She wasn't a threat.
His Berserker could kill her Archer, and with small army of servants, she would have no chance. She just flat out was not a threat to him with her 3 command spells and 1 servant against his 24 command spells and 9 servants if one counted Chloe.
"... How do I prove myself?" She asked with a nervous smile.
Naruto stepped back and sat on his desk again.
"Option 1: Order your Servant to kill herself... Option 2: Work on this ship as a crew member... Option 3: Kill yourself. If you kill yourself, I will contract with your servants to keep them alive... if you get rid of your servants, then you won't be a threat to me... pick your option." Naruto raised a finger with each option.
"Option 2 please, so... do I need to swab the poop deck?" Ritsuka managed to stay upbeat, but she didn't hesitate to pick the second option.
"Go meet up with Anne and Mary, they will give you orders on what you have to do..." Naruto watched as Ritsuka left the room, and when the door closed behind her, Naruto looked towards Hinata and narrowed his eyes. "... what destroyed your ship, and where is your Holy Grail... I heard the people who captured you stole it." Naruto stated to her.
She shook her head.
"It was another crew of servants who sold us to slavery... our ship was destroyed by this large... They took our grail as payment for not killing us... and I don't know who their master is, he never showed himself to me. He had his servants sell me and my servants, and then set sail... I don't know where he went." Hinata stated.
Naruto raised his hand.
"What destroyed your ship?" Naruto asked again, because she said it was large, but she didn't say what it was that destroyed her ship.
Hinata didn't speak at first.
"It blended in... It was big... and it roared really loud... all I saw were two... big yellow eyes. It crippled half of my servants in one attack and destroyed my ship with a second attack. It took 4 command spells to heal my servants." Hinata just didn't know what it was that destroyed her ship and defeated half of her servants. If she didn't have command spells, she would have lost 4 servants in a single attack of the great beast that did it.
Melusine looked at Naruto in concern.
"Master... that sounds like it could be an Ocean Monster..."
"It has to be one of them... do you really not know anything else about it?" Naruto asked Hinata with a genuine desire to know anything that she coudl say. "... How about where it happened?" Naruto asked her.
She still shook her head.
"... Our map was destroyed when we had to flee from another battle. We were sailing with no map for a few days."
"Go..."
"Huh?"
"Go down and stay with your servants. You will be allowed our and about during the day, but at night you and your crew will be sleeping in your cells. Thanks for what you have told me... but my crew won't trust your crew, during the day you will be free, but at night you will sleep in a cell." Naruto gestured for Hinata to leave the room.
He had a lot to think about.
Like the fact there was already a Master who had 2 Holy Grails in their possession, and had a crew strong enough to force Hinata's crew to submit to being sold into slavery. Hinata didn't have the bloodlust needed to be a good master in a war, but she still had the intelligence to stay alive on the ocean this long.
Hinata paused at the door.
"Naruto... after this war... can we..."
"No." Naruto gave his answer before she could finish asking the question.
"... I... I understand... you're still angry."
"Just go be with your servants, or I'll kill you. Master isn't your boyfriend anymore, he's my lover now. He is my Master. I own him, and that makes him my lover. Don't try and seduce a dragon's lover." Melusine stood between Naruto and Hinata again. She could sense how tense the air was.
Naruto barely paid her words any mind.
'There is a master with a strong crew... who has 2 Holy Grails. My servants are no slouches themselves. Two big yellow eyes and her ship was destroyed with an actual attack... this monster is aggressive... Charybdis wasn't actively aggressive, it just does what it does... this monster seemed like it was aggressive and territorial.' Naruto was thinking the best he could.
He sighed.
He had no information that could help him to make a plan around stopping the monster, and he didn't have enough information to go track down the master who stole Hinata's Holy Grail.
"Melusine, go around town and collect everyone. Once everyone is back on this ship, we set sail..." Naruto wanted to be alone for a few minutes to think about their options. Naruto grit his teeth and gave a frustrated growl.
He thought that because he got Chloe on his crew, and him surviving Charybdis put him ahead of the other Masters when it came to the war. He didn't think that some other Master already got ahead of him in Grail collecting.
'If I had known somebody else was ahead, I would have just attacked that other crew instead of having Melusine put a hole in their boat. I wasted a chance to get another Grail. I messed up.' Naruto was angry at himself, and upset that he wasn't in 1st place. Some other master who he didn't even know the name of was ahead of him instead.
Naruto calmed himself down.
Rushing things wasn't the right answer.
"It doesn't matter who is in 1st place... as long as I win in the end..." Naruto told himself that, and he calmed down.
It didn't matter who had the most grails during the water.
All that mattered was who had all 7 at the end of the war.
