Ch10 - The Not So Jolly Prisoner Pt5
He might, have been a gentleman; when I first met him, but now he's a Pirate Captain and I'm his prisoner, and that's the way it's going to stay...
Hook, glanced at me; and I averted my gaze, I heard him sigh, before he spoke.
"Smee, will be along shortly; now, be a good girl and stay put"
I scoffed, before raising my hand; in a mock salute, before turning my back to him, he sighed again. I heard the hatch, open; I kept my back to him, and once I was sure he was gone, I moved to lean against his bed.
I placed my head, in my hands; before sighing, I should have fought harder, I need to attend Smith's trial. I'm already, going back to the brig; I may, as well make my stay in there mean something.
I stood up, before making my way up the ladder; I opened the hatch, before peering out. I spotted Hook, and a few of his crew; as Smith was brought in front of them.
I opened the hatch further, before silently making my way towards, the helm. The ship, was unusually quiet; as I got closer, I heard Hook.
"Edward Smith, the crew have decided you are to be marooned on the small island; just up ahead, the reason for the marooning, is that you attempted to rape, Princess Emma. Now, I am a fair Captain; I will allow, for you to take some rations, some water, but your cutlass, will remain onboard"
Smith, replied.
"Thank you, Captain..."
Hook, interrupted him.
"I'm not doing, this for you; I'm doing this, for the safety of my crew, now...tell me, why did you think it was a good idea, to try and harm the Princess?"
Smith, answered.
"You didn't steal the jewels, as promised but instead; you brought, her onto our ship, you didn't ask for a ransom demand, as you promised. You're not much of a Pirate Captain, now are you? I mean, you can't even keep the promise of stealing jewels, and that's why I took it upon meself, to deal with the Princess. I thought, it was understood any prisoner...royalty or not, shall be taken by a member of this crew. You never showed any interest in her, Captain; so I decided to take her maidenhead, and save you the trouble of dealing with that"
Hook, spoke again.
"You know the reason, why we don't have the jewels; the Princess, traded herself in place of the jewels, I also made it perfectly clear that she wasn't to be harmed in anyway, while she was onboard. As for, deciding to take her maidenhead, that was not your decision to make; now, enjoy these last few moments, as you'll soon be all alone, and I hope you understand, you'll not be able to be rescued. So don't even think, about trying to draw the attention of any passing ships, as they'll not be able to help you in any way"
Smith, stuttered; as Smee, spoke.
"Secure, him to the mast"
I heard, the crew follow the orders; as I made my way back to Hook's cabin. Once there, I sat on the floor again. I kept my head down, as I heard the hatch open and close; I knew it wasn't Smee, as I felt something cool, touch my cheek.
I glanced up, and spotted Hook; he spoke.
"How, much of that did you hear?"
I felt my eyes, widen; as I stuttered, as I spoke.
"I don't, know what you're..."
Hook, quirked an eyebrow; as he spoke again.
"I had a feeling you weren't going to listen to me, why do you think, I left the hatch unlocked?" I looked at him, whilst not saying anything; he continued. "I'm sorry, if anything Smith said; made you uncomfortable, and as for being sent to the brig, I really wish, you would stay here..."
I, spoke.
"No, it's my fault; I should, stay in the brig..."
Hook, interrupted me.
"Princess, it is most certainly; not your fault, Smith just doesn't know how to conduct himself, in front of royalty, as for what he attempted to do to you, I am sorry, so please...stay here, you're more than welcome to do so"
I looked, at him; before speaking.
"I will stay, but not with you; do you have, other accommodation?"
Hook, nodded; before speaking.
"Ah yes...there is a small cabin; adjacent to mine, it was designed for a cabin boy...but since, I've yet to find one, you may stay there"
I nodded, in silent thanks; he spoke.
"If you'll allow me to escort you?"
I nodded, as I followed him outside; we came to a stop, he opened the door. He then stepped aside, allowing me to step into the cabin; it was small, but it would work, I spoke.
"This will more, than do; Captain, thank you"
He nodded, before speaking again.
"I'll have Smee, bring your belongings here; and if, it's not too much to ask, would the Princess like to join me for supper tonight?"
I looked at him, before speaking.
"I'll be honest, Captain; if you had asked me earlier, I would have declined, but now..."
He nodded, while speaking.
"I understand, I just thought..."
I laughed softly, before continuing.
"I would be, honoured; Captain"
He nodded, his eyes slightly brighter; he spoke.
"Wonderful, I'll see you this evening"
I nodded, before speaking.
"I look forward, to it Captain"
He spoke, again.
"Don't be late, Milady"
I nodded, before stepping further inside; Hook, closed the door, and left me alone. I sat on the bed, before laying back. I entwined my hands, on my stomach; as I tried to make sense of what just happened.
His earlier reaction, now making sense; when I practically told him to throw me into the brig, he was surprised, but didn't want it to be known.
And then there, was allowing me to stay in here, instead go with him; not to mention, asking me to have supper, instead of requesting for me to join him. I heard a knock, I sat up; before moving to open the door.
I was greeted by Smee, who then handed me my belongings, I thanked him; before he bowed slightly, before leaving. I closed the door, before opening my bag.
I lifted, out a white linen shirt, and breeches; I emptied the bag, lifting my hairbrush, ribbons and other items, and placed them onto the small desk.
I sighed, while deciding on braiding my hair, I gathered one of the ribbons, before getting to work. It was a challenge, with no mirror; but, it would have to do.
Once I was done, I sat on the bed; I glanced around, the small cabin, Hook wasn't joking, when he said it was small, but it will do...
