"Go kick some ass, Greene. I'll see you on the other side." Greene nodded as he turned to leave.

"One last thing." He stopped and glanced back over his shoulder. "Try to come back alive. Okay? I know you'll do your best for the others, but some of us need you too…" Those were the last words she had spoken to him before embarking on their penultimate mission. Operation Leviathan had been the highest stakes possible for XCOM and the Resistance. Greene himself, had come close to death multiple times throughout the final assault. It was at that point that he realized he had never traded any lasting goodbye with Ghost before he left. He came far too close to regretting his actions more than he already did. He would not make the same mistake twice.

"Hey, Greene. C'mon man, wake up." Greene found himself being shaken from his slumber on the skyranger. The high-speed aircraft was surprisingly resilient against turbulence. He sat in his seat and gave his attention to the person beside him.

"We're fifteen mikes out. Rebriefing's in five." Greene nodded in affirmation and glanced around the bloodtray. The rest of his team was performing final checks before arriving at the AO. He did the same, checking that his gear was in order before their handler contacted them. Shortly after their briefing was finished, the hatch opened, and blinding sunlight flooded the bloodtray as the team briefly winced and covered their eyes.

"Let's go, X-Ray! Out the hatch! Move move move!" Greene was the first to grab hold of a rope and hit the ground. His past could wait, it was go time.
